Shade's Lovely Dinner...
Shade sighed, this place made him uncomfortable, and not in the usual way. The canine duo are in the kitchen making him food, they apparently do not understand the fact that a human most likely will eat whatever they will offer. They seem to think most of the food they have is harmful to humans, saying that certain meats and vegetables are poisonous or unhealthy for one. However Shade had to intervene when Hanna said that apples and venison will make him sick, he really wanted that apple. She seemed to be the chef, Sydney just grabbed the ingredients for her while the wolfess cooked the food.They lived in a comfortable house, although Shade was very unsure if they are a couple or simply roommates. The only parts of the house that he allowed himself to see is the living room, dinning room, and kitchen, the girls told him that he should treat himself as if he is at home. So he treated himself as if he was at a stranger's house, with his hood up, coat still on, and his hands out of his pockets so they know he is not stealing anything. The rooms themselves are fairly nice, the wood on the furniture is the same quality as the tavern he stayed at, although nothing is nailed down this time, the only thing different is that these do not have the normal niches and pieces missing off the furniture like the average tavern. The wood is also a few shades lighter, and the living room had a few toys scattered around, confirming his thoughts of those kids being theirs.The table that he is seated in front of seems just big enough to seat four people, it is after all a simple round table. In the middle is a small vase with what appears to be blue rose. Shade knew better however, the thorns on the flower are to thin and too few for it to be a rose, this is a Blue Moon Flower. It is a species of flower that his brother Lee used to grow for him, it was normally used so Lee could ask forgiveness after a small fight they got into. It always worked, since Shade always had a soft spot for anything that grows in the dark, that and the bandages on his brother's face made him feel guilty. These thoughts only made him want to leave even more, due to homesickness and that he misses his siblings even more now.Just as he is gathering the confidence to ask if he could leave the duo pop out of the kitchen. The wolfess Hanna is carrying two dishes, one seems to be her own since it has the venison and a large combination of meat on her plate, in her other hand is a tray of fruits peeled open and laid out in what seems to be a large flower pattern. The timid vixen Sydney is carrying the same as her friend, although it isn't nearly as much meat, and in her other hand is a pyramid of five different colored apples. They set the plates down on the table, apparently the flowery fruits are Shade's which he is glad for. The duo sit down with a giggle, their tails going into the opening at the back of the chairs as they wag happily.Shade is about to dig
in when he sees that the two start what he can only guess is prayer, their head lowered and their hands clasps together, with their thumbs sticking up to hold their chins. He decides maybe it is best to not to eat while they pray, since it may be disrespectful. Once they are done they start to eat, however Sydney seems to have noticed that Shade did not pray.She tilts her head slightly to her right and asks softly, "Don't you pray to Verna, the Goddess of harvest?"Shade shakes his head as he picks up a slice of apple, or at least he hopes its a apple. Most of the food they have sliced on his plate look the same, some apple looking the others look like slices of multicolored oranges.Hanna speaks up between bites of her venison, "Humans don't pray to the Gods silly."Shade shakes his head again and speaks up, "Humans have religion, or at least my family does."The wolfess blinks in surprise, as if the concept of a human with religion has never occurred to her. Sydney speaks up again, nibbling on her food as she does, "Then who do you worship? Fera, Gren, Herrasi, Jeacka, Jersn, Kelleil, Cuetsa, Beuniot, Presi, We-""I am afraid that our religion may not have any of your gods in it, for we only pray to two Gods, or Goddess. It depends on who you talk to." Shade interrupts her, not wanting to know just how many gods they pray to, more than five is way too much for him. In fact this conversation itself is starting to make him uncomfortable, the thought of performing heresy on a religion he knows nothing of made him afraid.This only made the two more curious, as they leaned in closer to him and tilted their heads, saying in unison, "Two Gods?..."This made Shade flinch, since he was looking down at his food until now. The duo speech always made him nervous, but even more so now that they are so close when they did it. "Y-yes. Two Gods or Goddesses..."Both of their tails wag faster at the thought of a new religion to chat about, since in their kingdom they have over one hundred gods they pray to. Their nation teaches to respect other religions and learn the most they can about them so they do not disrespect them. This and the fact that since they live in a tiny village far from the main capital they do not normally have alot of new conversation pieces to chat about. Sadly Shade did not know this however, and is afraid that they are planning on converting him, it would not be the first time it has happened.Sydney speak up first, a happy twinkle in her eyes, "Who are these two gods, or goddesses?"Shade takes a slow bite out of the fruit, which surprisingly tasted wonderful, "Well their names are also different depending on who you ask..."Hannah swishes her tail in annoyance at the vague information that she keeps getting, her lips twitching, "Then what do you think than?"Shade blushes behind his hood at this, not used to anyone asking his opinion on these matters, or
anything for that matter, "Well... I worship Mother Death and Mother Nature, they are the two goddesses that our religion worships."They both tilt their head in surprise at this, Sydney seems the most curious, her tail wagging so fast it is making her chair wobble. Hannah speaks up again, "Mother? That seems a strange name to call your gods, death especially."Shade quickly finishes eating, his stomach was apparently starving more than he thought, "Yes well... Me and my siblings are born from them so, we are allowed to say this."This only makes them more interested, the concept of someone actually being born from two female gods confusing them immensely, "Wait, so you are the son of two gods? Does that make you immortal, and where are your brothers and sisters?"Shade shakes nervously under his cloak, this conversation taking a turn for the worse. He sits there and waits for a few long seconds, hoping they will forget all about this. They do not, and the silence only makes them more curious. Hannah is about to speak up when the sound of someone closing a door is heard."Ma, We are home!" Yells a voice Shade recognized as the fox boy from earlier today."Come in deary, come and see our new guest for the night." Replies Sydney, leaning back in her chair so she looks more proper.'Wait, did she say for the night? Oh no, I will be staying the night. This is bad...' Shade thinks to himself just as the duo walk in. The fox boy walks in first, the wolf girl hiding behind him shyly. Shade never really saw what they were wearing until now, the boy is wearing a large red tunic, tied around his waist by a leather belt, around his legs are a tight pair of leather pants. The girl is wearing a tunis as well, although her's is white and she does not seem to be wearing any pants underneath, perhaps it is a dress.He blinks in surprise at seeing Shade, "Oh, so you actually caught him?"The wolf girls speaks up suddenly, "Mommy I'm hungry, can I have some food?"Hanna smiles kindly and nods, "Yes Clara, but only if you stop hiding and come with me to the kitchen."The now known Clara nods and quickly runs behind her mother's chair, hiding from Shade's field of view. Hanna sighs at this and rolls her eyes, standing up and scooting her chair back under the table as she walks into the kitchen, Clara not far behind.When Shade turns to look back at the fox boy he flinches, the fox is nearly in his hood, sniffing him. Sydney flicks her tail to get her son's attention, "Serva, do not get so close to... What is your name again?"Shade scoots his chair away from Serva slightly, feeling very uncomfortable, "My name is Shade.""Shade? That is a weird name." Serva rudely says as he grabs one of Hanna's left pieces of meat, nibbling on it hungrily.The flustered vixen rolls her eyes and gets out of her chair, "Anyone can say the same about your name sweety. Now come on lets get you
some food, I told you not to take Hanna's." The two foxes walks in to the kitchen, leaving Shade alone in the kitchen once more. Shade's cheeks are blushing a soft red behind his hood, very anxious about the entire situation he is in. He then stand up, scooting his chair in as he decides to leave. Opening the door of the dining room and walking down the hall.'I'm sure they won't mind, I mean its just me after all. No thats stupid of me, I am their guest after all. I should stay so I don't seem rude... Wait, rude?! I just had my face sniffed by that boy, why am I being worried about being rude?... I guess his mom did just scowled him slightly about it but still. Wait a second didn't she say I was staying for the-'"Shade, do you want to see where you will be staying?" Shade flinches and turns around, seeing that the voice came from Serva strangely enough. He is leaning into the hallway, holding onto the dining room door frame for support as he sticks his head out in the hall."I... Sure why not?" Shade sighs and walks back up towards the young kit, wishing he never even came to this town. Serva smiles and walks down the hall, stopping once he gets to the door at the far left, opennning it for him. Shade walks up to him and looks in the room, his eye twitching behind his hood in shy surprise. The room is a large one, and inside is a large queen sized bed, beside it is two closets. The window is openned, revealing a single pair of black panties hiding under one of the pillows on the large mattress. Confirming Shade's theroy of this being the two womens' room."This... is where I will be sleeping?..." Shade asks nervously, trying to keep his eyes away from the panties, which is hard since they are on top of red silk covers."Yes, is there something wrong?" Serva asks, his head tilted in slight confusion."No... No not at all. Just that... Is this your mother's room?""Yes, and it is also Hanna's they sleep together. Your the only other adult in this house so you will naturally be sleeping with the other adults.""Were... do you and the little wolfess sleep?" Shade asks curiously, judging on if it would be less controversal if he slept with the children instead of the women."Oh us? We sleep right over there." Serva points to the door directly across the hall."I see... Would it be strange if I... slept with you two instead of in here?" Shade asks, very nervous about going in to the room with the evil panties.Serva blinks at this and is about to speak when Hanna answers for him, apparently she was behind Shade the whole time, "I don't mind, however if you do you have to do one thing for us if you want to sleep in our kid's room."Shade flinches so violently he almost stumbles standing straight up, however he quickly turns around to face the wolfess, "That is?"Hanna giggles and grins a evil smile to Shade, her tail swaying happily behind her, "You need to
