#6 of Kaiju

This is part four of a short story I'm writing about my Kaiju OC, Kamoya. I put this one under "adult" simply because it talks about breeding and stuff. Not sure kids really need to be seeing that. I don't know.

Part Four - A Visit from Gorosaurus

Anguirus casually walked through the forest of unusually large palms with little care. He didn't fear predators, seeing as most monsters on the island probably couldn't bust through his hard shell, and he assumed he would be having a nice egg dinner later, so he didn't care about food at the moment. No, he simply walked for the sake of walking, finding the day nice.

As he made his way back to Kamoya's beach, he heard the sound of breathing and stopped. It was deep, calm, and loud. Whatever it was either didn't care about hiding or was really dumb. Turning his head to see what was near him, he raised a brow as he saw a giant theropod dinosaur run at him and then stop in its tracks as it got a good look at him. Anguirus knew immediately the breathing was due to stupidity. "Oh, Gorosaurus, it's you."

The dinosaur slowly approached Anguirus and chuckled, wiggling his little forearms as he walked. "Hey there Anguirus, didn't think I'd find you over here."

Anguirus looked over the larger dinosaur. "Um...were you hunting me?"

"What? No. Not intentionally anyway."

Anguirus rolled his eyes.

"You see," Said Gorosaurus. "I thought you were a big turtle or something."

Anguirus didn't like the sound of that. "Were you hunting for giant turtles?"

"Maybe." Gorosaurus sniffed the air. "I see one walk around over here sometimes. Big one, female...I think. Fat as I am tall."

"Uh huh." Anguirus gave a slight nod. "And you wanted to eat her?"

"Well, yes, maybe. I don't know. She smells good, so I think her meat would be tasty. She's got some thigh meat, I'll tell you what."

Anguirus sighed. "Listen, Goro, I'd suggest not eating her. Her and I sort of have a thing right now."

"Oh, I see. You're breeding her."

"What? No! We're just talking right now."

"But you want to breed her?"

Anguirus wasn't sure how much more of this conversation he could have. "Look, just don't eat her. She's not worth it, plus she'd probably kick your tail."

The gears seemed to be grinding in Gorosaurus' head for some reason. "Anguirus, you and I have known each other for..." He paused. "I don't know. Point is, if you say she's not something I should eat, I won't eat her."

Anguirus didn't seem fully convinced for some reason. Gorosaurus suddenly sniffing the air again didn't help either. "Uh huh. Well, nice talk Goro." Anguirus turned around and was fully set on heading back to Kamoya.

"So, can I meet her?"

Anguirus turned to the theropod and raised a brow. "Why?"

"Well, you're not filling her with eggs yet, she's fair game to talk to, right?"

"What do those two things even have to do with each other?"

Gorosaurus sniffed the air once more. "Eggs, yes." He looked at Anguirus and smiled, wiggling his arms once more. "I just feel it would be nice to meet a new face. Not often I get to do that, especially on this island."

For some reason, Anguirus got the feeling he wouldn't be able to stop Gorosaurus from following him even if he told him no. Reluctantly, he gave a small nod and began walking back to the beach. "Fine, whatever. Just don't do something stupid."

"Trust me, friend. It'll be like I wasn't even there."

Anguirus muttered under his breath. "I wish you weren't."

Back at the beach, Kamoya opened her eyes slowly and looked around. Anguirus hadn't returned yet, and her children were playing in the water. Lifting herself up into a sitting position, she looked down between her legs. Her eggs looked nice and safe. Normally she would have covered them up after laying them, but seeing as she planned on eating them anyway, she didn't bother.

Using her tail as a balance, she lifted herself off the sand and onto her feet. She put her flippers on her hips and stretched a little, feeling much lighter than before. "Those eggs must have weighed a couple tons, each." She gave her belly a rub. She was still had quite the fat and round belly, but without the eggs in her womb, the platting was less spaced apart than it was before, fitting nice and snug on her soft underbelly.

Bending over, she picked up one of the eggs and cradled it in one of her arms. "Very nice. Heavy, looks healthy. I think I laid another great clutch." Hearing the sound of breaking trees, she turned to see Anguirus walking onto the beach. "Anguirus, I do hope you're hungry. These eggs seem nice and full of deliciousness." The appearance of another dinosaur leaving the forest, seemingly following Anguirus, surprised Kamoya. "Oh, another visitor?"

Anguirus rolled his eyes. "This is Gorosaurus, a..." He thought a moment. "I know him."

Gorosaurus sniffed the air and smiled. As he walked closer, he looked over Kamoya, especially right around her chest area. "My, what a lovely turtle you are."

Kamoya giggled. "Why thank you. You're quite the dinosaur yourself."

Anguirus mocked throwing up out of view. He thought he had something good with Kamoya; or at least the possibility of something good. He didn't want some micro-brained carnivore ruin his chances.

"What a lovely egg you have." Gorosaurus leaned in and sniffed the white shelled morsel next to her breast. "A mother, are you?"

She smiled and nodded. "I am, but this is not my baby. I laid this egg, but it's not fertilized. I had actually planned on eating this clutch with my family and Anguirus."

Gorosaurus nodded. "I see, I see. Very practical use. I imagine some would simply throw them out. It is a rather tasty looking egg." He sniffed it once more.

Anguirus was getting fairly uncomfortable. He was fairly certain Gorosaurus cared more about filling his belly than making friends. "Yes, well, maybe we should get to eating then. Thanks for visiting Gorosaurus, but we-"

Kamoya interrupted him. "I laid four eggs, and I had only planned on giving my babies one of them to share. Gorosaurus, would you like to join us for an egg?"

Gorosaurus mocked flattery and wiggled his arms. "Me? I wouldn't want to overstay my welcome."

Kamoya shook her head. "Nonsense. Come over here and we can eat." With that, she turned around and walked towards the nest Anguirus had helped make for her.

Anguirus noticed Gorosaurus lick his teeth as he watched Kamoya's hips rock back and forth as she walked away. He walked towards Gorosaurus and frowned.

Gorosaurus sniffed the air once more and chuckled. "Quite the meat on her bones." He spoke softly so only they would hear. "Wouldn't mind having a bite of that as well, but I won't be rude."

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Anguirus was by no means happy. "You said you wanted to meet her, not eat her."

"Well, I did say earlier I wanted to eat her, but then I changed my mind." He started to walk forward, leaving Anguirus behind. "Don't worry, you'll still be able to breeder her when I'm done here."

Anguirus thought about tackling the dimwitted oaf right there, but he didn't want to upset Kamoya.

Kamoya sat on her rump and called to her children, who happily ran to the nest for dinner. Setting the egg she had in her arms in front of them, she leaned down and used her beak to break open the top, licking the yolk and white from her maw as she pulled away. "Eat up children; there is plenty for all of you." She chuckled as the three right away began dipping their claws in the gooey egg and pulling out some to eat.

Reaching into the hole in the sand, Kamoya pulled out another egg, setting it in front of Anguirus. "They're still warm from my belly, so they should taste amazing." She pulled out a third egg and set it in front of Gorosaurus. "Alright, eat up you two."

As she pulled out the fourth and final egg for her own consumption, Gorosaurus plopped down onto his bottom with a heavy thud akin to a mini-earthquake. Anguirus on the other hand just rested on his belly. Where Anguirus used his foot to bash the top open, Gorosaurus just bent over and smashed the egg all over the sand, grabbing as much as he could in his jaws and licking up the rest. It was clear both dinosaurs had different ways of doing things.

After using her beak to open the egg like she did for her children, Kamoya picked up the egg with her flipper and proceeded to drink down the contents. Lowering the egg from her mouth, steam escaped her beak. "Hehe, it's always fun drinking stuff. So, how is momma's cooking?"

The three children simply nodded, not wanting to miss out on eating more of the egg by talking.

Gorosaurus licked his jaws and nodded. "Very good. Your womb certainly knows how to cook a meal." He then leaned down and nuzzled her bulging belly.

Kamoya nodded and chuckled at the action before taking another gulp from her egg.

Anguirus didn't seem happy, but he gave Kamoya a smile. "Yes, it tastes great. It's not often I get to eat eggs. I usually have to steal any I get."

Finishing off the contents of her egg, she began biting the shell and devouring that as well. In a matter of moments, the entire egg was in her belly. Her flippers free, she began to pet Gorosaurus who was still rubbing his head on her belly. "You two are welcome to show up next month and have more eggs then, that is, unless I find a mate and get pregnant." She smiled softly, glancing at Anguirus a moment before looking to her children. The three small turtles had managed to finish their egg, but were covered in the goo as well. Kamoya giggled. "You three are such messy eaters. Why don't you go into the ocean and clean yourselves off."

With a nod, the three children did as their mother instructed, leaving Kamoya, Anguirus, and Gorosaurus alone.

Anguirus felt a little happier after she glanced at him. Was she possibly hinting that she liked him? He couldn't tell, but it didn't matter.

While the children played in the ocean after bathing, the three adult Kaiju talked. Kamoya told Gorosaurus things Anguirus already knew about her, such as how she moved to Monster Island to give birth to her children and had lived there for quite some time. Gorosaurus too discussed part of his past and how he knew Anguirus. Both dinosaurs had been frozen and thawed out in the distant future, only to be irradiated through an odd turn of events, leaving them in their currently massive state.

As they talked, Anguirus started to lose his distrust of Gorosaurus. He wasn't bright, and he obviously wanted to eat Kamoya given the way he looked at her and sniffed her from time to time, but he was respectful and didn't seem to have any plans of attack.

After some time, the conversation was interrupted by the sound of rumbling, something akin to thunder, but coming from Kamoya's belly. Her cheeks turned an interesting color after the sound and she placed a flipper on her belly. "Pardon me, but I think I need to...relieve myself." She lifted herself off the sand and groaned softly. "I hope you don't mind."

Gorosaurus shook his head. "Not at all. Maybe you should take Anguirus with you though, in case of predators."

Anguirus raised a brow. "What?"

Kamoya didn't take long to form an answer. "That isn't a bad idea. I suppose I'll be in a rather vulnerable position. I don't want a predator to sneak up on me like that. Alright, I'll be back shortly. Come along Anguirus."

She began to walk away towards the forest; all the while Anguirus seemed suspicious. Giving Gorosaurus a dirty look, he whispered to him. "Don't do anything you'll regret while we're gone."

Gorosaurus stood up and wiggled his arms. "I wouldn't even think of doing anything."

That's the problem, thought Anguirus, Gorosaurus doesn't think. Still suspicious, Anguirus didn't want to leave Kamoya waiting. He wouldn't be gone for too long, he figured. Turning away from Gorosaurus, he followed Kamoya into the forest, hoping nothing bad would happen.
