Alright, Here's chapter 2. We learn a little more about Coren's past and we meet a new friend! :D Sorry it took so long to get this uploaded. I've been kind of busy. :/

"I'm home!" Coren shouted as he entered the front door to his house. The house itself was a mess. There was garbage scattered over the brown carpet, and the house reeked of smoke and alcohol. The couch that faced towards the small TV was in shreds, and the hall that led into the kitchen had people passed out on the floor. "Oh... looks like Mr. G had another party." Coren looked around the room, stepping around tons of passed out furs and humans. _"Seriously, couldn't he at least save the parties for the weekend when mom and I can spend the night at someone else's house?"_Coren just shook his head and started walking towards the basement stairs when he found Mr. G, his stepdad, laying on top of a random woman naked. Coren just about threw up at the sight. He turned his head and rushed down the stairs into his room.

Coren entered his room in his basement, hung up his hoodie, and threw his backpack under his bed. His red t-shirt clung to his fur and made him itch. _"Damn, If only I could walk around school shirtless to school!"_Coren threw off his shirt and flew into his closet door. His room was relatively small, with a decent sized bed and a desk filling in most of the space. His room had barley any form of entertainment. He only had his 3DS and his sketch pad to keep him company in his bedroom. His room was the only place around in the house that was actually clean, and it didn't reek of alcohol.

Coren flopped onto his bed and sighed. He wanted to get out. He never understood why his mom had to marry that jerk Mr. G when his real dad died. He was abusive and violent, and it only got worse when he was drunk. He was unpredictable and rash, and he had no job. His mom was the one that worked, and Mr. G would spend all of her hard earned money on alcohol. Coren turned his head and found the picture of his Mom, him, and his real Dad. He reached over his desk and gingerly picked up the frame and smiled. When he was eight, the Donatell's would always have a picnic on the third Sunday of the month. Coren grinned as he saw the little eight year old on his big fathers shoulders with his beautiful mother by his side. That was also the day his father died. That memory was still as clear as day, even though eight years have passed.

*****

We had just finished saying our goodbyes too our extended family when we left the park to head home. I sat in the car, talking excitedly about all the cool bugs we had caught that day. Dad would always smile and laugh at my stories as we drove home. He asked questions about what else we did that day, and Mom smiled as our sill talk openedup.

"..and we found a big bug with a horn on it! I don't know what it was, but we caught it anyway!"

"Oh, what you found was a rhinoceros beetle. Pretty rare around these parts. Which one of your cousins kept it?" Dad asked.

"Tommy," I pouted with a humph. "We played rock-paper-scissors for it. I lost."

"Well, I wouldn't have let you keep it anyway!" My Mom chuckled.

"Oh... really?"

"It's ok, Coren." Dad looked back at me and smiled. "You'll find another one, promise!"

"Darell, eyes on the road."

"Sorry, Trish."

Then it happened. A semi-truck swerved into the lane we were driving in.

"Darell, look out!" My mother shouted.

"Daddy!"

"Oh, shit!" Dad turned the wheel and tried to avoid the oncoming truck. Then all of a sudden, I lost consciousness.

*****

Coren teared up as he remembered the rest of the day. He woke up in the ER 4 hours later after the crash. He had several broken ribs, both legs were broken, and he had a concussion. His Mom had made it out with barley any scratches. His dad, however...

Coren placed the photo on the desk next to his bed and wiped away the tears. He then noticed the time on his alarm. It read 3:35 pm.

"Oh, shit, I'm late!" Coren jumped out of his bed, threw on his t-shirt and hoodie, and made his way up the stairs to the front door, avoiding the bodies on the floor.

*****

Coren walked up to the white door of his friends house and knocked. Not even a second later, the door swung open with Floyd standing in the doorway.

"You're late." Floyd said flatly.

"Yeah, yeah, get over it." Coren replied with a smirk.

"You know, I'll let it go just this once because I'm in a good mood." Floyd then pointed his finger at Coren's face and wild smile grew on his face. "But next time, There will be no mercy!"

"Whatever." Coren just rolled his eyes and walked past Floyd, heading up the stairs.

"Hey Hey! I didn't even invite you in yet!"

"I'm sure your parents will forgive me!" Coren laughed as he turned left after reaching the top of the stairs.

"I won't forgive you!"

"I'm not to worried about that."

"Uhg..." Floyd muttered as Coren entered his room. Floyd's room was the complete opposite of Coren's room. His room was littered with random papers and books, and his bed had tons of dirt on it. There was root beer cans all over his desk and the surrounding floor. The window had blue paint all over it, making it impossible to see out of. The only clean thing in his room was his TV and his

x-box.

"Coren! You finally made it!" Haley was sitting on the chair closest to the TV. She was smiling and was waving enthusiastically as Coren entered the room.

"What took you so long?"

"I just lost track of time. No big deal."

"Oh, ok, if you say so." Haley noticed a twinge of sadness in his voice as he said that, but she knew better then to ask what the problem was. He would just deny that he sounded like that and try to change the subject.

"So, what have you guys play while I was gone?" Coren asked.

"We played Halo 4, Call of Duty blackopps, and now were playing Minecraft." Floyd said as he entered the room. Coren turned to face him. "Trying to play survival mode with her is like trying to teach a baby how to drive a car! It's impossible!"

"If you had done what I told you to do, we wouldn't be in this mess, now would we?" Haley pit her hands on her hips and glared at Floyd with a slight smirk on her face with her head held up high.

"No, if we had built a shelter the first day, we wouldn't have to survive the night! But NOOOOOOOooooo! You HAD to destroy what I had built to get back at me for not doing what YOU wanted to do!"

"See? If we had done what I wanted to do, we wouldn't be in this mess!"

Floyd glared at Haley with his hands balled up into fists. "I hate you."

"Oh, you love me and you know it!" Hale smirked and stuck her tongue out.

"OK, OK, calm down, you two." Coren said as he motioned his hands. "How 'bout you guys go back to killing each other in a different game instead of working together and failing?"

"OK then, Coren. What game should I own Josh at?" Haley shot a look at Floyd with a look that seemed to be blood lust.

"Oh, you are going DOWN, Haley!" Josh pumped his fists for emphasis, then he pointed his finger at Coren. "Don't get in my way!"

"Wouldn't dream of it." Coren chuckled.

"Oh-ho!" Haley laughed heartily. "So you think you can defeat MUA!?"

"Oh, yes, yes I do. Revenge will be sweet!" Floyd cried with an evil smile while licking his lips and rubbing his hands together.

"Jesus, guys. Let's just get started already." Coren then turned off the x-box and plugged in a wii that was sitting on top of Floyd's TV.

*****

"What the hell?!" Floyd shouted as Coren landed the final blow on Toon Link with Ike's final smash. Haley had already been beaten, so she was just watching and enjoying the sight of Floyd getting the shit beat out of him.

"Hah! Win again!"

"What the hell?!" Floyd flew his hands up in frustration. "You took Haley and I down like we were nothing! I didn't even have a chance to hit her because I was so busy fighting you!"

"Yep. I'm an evil genius!" Coren smiled as he put his paws behind his ears.

"That's debatable..." Floyd muttered. Suddenly, the doorbell rang and informed the crew of another presence outside the house.

"Oh! He finally made it!" Floyd stood up and rushed out the door and shouted "I'll be back in a sec'!"

"Hey, wait, who made it!?" Coren shouted as Floyd ran down the hall, but Floyd was out of earshot by then. Coren then turned to Haley with a confused and angered look. "Who else would come here?" Coren asked in a frustrated tone.

"Oh... um, well... It was just a new kid in my chemistry class and he seemed lonely, so I invited him over. He met Floyd on our walk home and the two seemed to hit it of."

"WHAT?!"Coren exploded. "Another oreson? Haley, you know I don't usually get along with other humans or furs!"

"Why are you so against it!?" Haley shouted back. Coren was taken aback by her sudden aggression. "Meeting new people is not a bad thing! For god's sakes, try to at least think about someone else other then yourself for a moment! Get out of you damned bubble and get ready. He's new, so don't you dare be mean to him." She gave Coren a firm glare while her nose and ears twitched.

"I'm not thinking about myself!" Coren replied angrily. He could feel the claws in his paws coming out.

"Yes you are! Think about how you would feel if you were new here and you had no friends? This guy feels like that, and he needs us. Got it?" She shot annoyed look at Coren.

Coren folded his ears back and sighed. He knew she was right. With a exasperated sigh, Coren replied " All right, I concede. I have no good reason to say no..."

"That's better." Haley stood up and patted Coren on the head with a soft smile. Her ears had stopped twitching and she was suddenly back to her normal self. "Now be nice, got it?"

"Fine."

"Hey guys!" Floyd popped his head into the door. "He'll be here in a minute, He's in the bathroom."

"TMI" Haley said with a disgusted looked.

"All right." Coren said trying to hide the annoyance in his voice. "What's his name?"

"His na-"

"My name," a light brown fur colored wolf-boy walked up right beside Floyd and said, "Is Will Anderson. Pleased to meet you."
