"Correct...the more a pokemon uses the Mega Gem fit to his species...eventually, the mega inside it dies...Rook, or perhaps even other Absols before him, drained Mega Absol so much, that he no longer exists. Now, Rook's gem is instead powered now by his own energy. He can remain in his mega form for as long as he wants, it will continue to store and use his life energy, and when it may pass onto another Absol, it will do the same for them." Psy's voice became soft as he continued.

"If you continue to use Raze's power Ruli...he will die..."

My eyes widened and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "What but...why would he die now?! He's been in his gem for decades!"

"With no Lucario's feeding on his power." Psy pointed out, "Just the same as my Mega has had no one using his. Eventually, he will die, and I will take his place as Mega Alakazam, he has accepted that."

"Raze too, will die eventually." Psy pointed out once more, "His power is needed to fight Yvetal, so you will have to use it again eventually. More than likely, given the little amount of training you've had in the use of your own power, you will also continue to rely on him."

I winced visibly, and Psy said, "I'm sorry, I'm being too straight forward again..."

I sighed and shook my head, "No...you're right..." I felt Raze's concern for me, "I've relied on him too much..."

"Ruli..." He started in my head, and I know what he wanted to say, but I wasn't going to let him say it with Psy listening.

I looked at Psy before Raze could say more, "Psy...tell Zane I'll be in the pokemon Center..."

"I will do that." The Abra nodded, before he flashed a bit and vanished, reappearing over by where the others were gathered with some policemen.

"Ruli. You already know how I feel about this." Raze said as I entered the room Zane had taken at the pokemon center.

"Yeah..." I sighed softly, and I flopped myself down onto the bed. "I do...I just..." I rubbed my eyes with my paws, keeping them over them as if to shut out the world. "I don't want to lose you..."

"Everyone fades eventually..." Raze said silently.

"It is..." Raze said back, and I could hear the determination in his voice.

"If I'm to fade into nothing and you're to take my place, I am okay with that, you've proven that you can handle my power and body. During those last few moments that I'm with you though, I want to feel...what it could've been like..."

I nodded slowly, removing my paws from my eyes and I reached out to Zane to call him into the room.

My trainer appeared a little bit after, a solum look upon his face and he moved to sit with me on the bed.

"What's up? Is something wrong? When Psy told me you were going here alone after all that had happened I wondered what was bothering you." He asked me lightly and I whined to him before I answered.

"Raze is dying." I said simply, trying my best to make the point as blunt as possible to ease the sting of the words to myself. It did little to stop Zane's reaction though, as his eyes widened and he looked at the gem on my chest.

"But, if he dies how can you use his form?"

"Psy explained, the more I use Raze, the more of his energy he gives me, the more mine replaces his inside the gem. Eventually, his energy will dissappear, and my gem will become like Rook's. Rook's Mega Gem doesn't have a mega inside it. Perhaps Mega Absol was lost a long time ago, if his gem has been circulating often...Raze spent years in the earth, untouched by any Lucario until I came along."

"How many more times could you transform before he..." Zane started and stopped, falling silent.

I shrugged, "Once...maybe..."

"I see..."

Silence followed a moment before I started again. "Raze...he...he doesn't mind that he'll fade...but...he wants to experience something..."

"What?" Zane asked quickly, eager to know, and I couldn't help the slight chuckle I gave.

"He wants...to feel you..."

"What do you mean?" Zane asked agian, but the tone in his voice I knew he understood what it meant.

"Your transformations are happening quicker too." Zane commented lightly and he looked up and down my Mega form quickly.

Zane fainted on top of me then, but I heard Zul's voice whisper in my ear before he left, "You freed us both. Thank you, Ruli. Raze is always with you in your heart, and so will I..."

Silence followed again, and as Zane remained sleeping softly, I relaxed. Looking up to the ceiling, I tried to think about what this all meant now. I was now a Mega, I could stay in this form forever if I wanted. Raze had given me everything he could...the emotions I had felt from him over the last half hour still swam through my head and heart.

The exhaustion of the activity hung heavily on me though, and my eyes felt incredibly heavy. I closed them, keeping my Healing Pulse going for Zane, as I dozed off slowly with him locked to me.

I thought they were all sleeping anyway, until Psy's voice spoke.

"I can no longer sense the presence of Raze...what happened? You wasted his power to have sex with Zane?"

As I replayed everything that had happened in my head, Psy instantly understood. "I see...no need to explain it vocally. Raze made his choice, and he's left you his power."

The space felt so empty now...
