a wolves love story: chapter three

Nick woke up in a morning of a month that was both feared and loved. Mating season, the time of the year when girls go into heat and ask for sex, they also give off a special scent that attracts males. Nick looked over to hope and realized something. Hope was the most beautiful wolf in the pack, no in the world, and her scent was sweet and nice, like her, that combined with mating season would be a nightmare. He looked over to hope to see she was sleeping still. He gently woke her up, "wha, nick? What time is it?" she asked when she woke up; she had a burning in her lower areas. "Hope, you're in heat" nick said simply. He looked into her eyes and saw no lust, which is what you would find in a females eyes during this season, he could only find love and affection for him. He smiled and walked over to her and licked her cheek softly, then he smelled the sweet smell of heat, he was barely able to resist it, but he did, knowing he got the strength from hope herself. He smiled at this thinking that he could possibly get through this season without killing someone. Then he looked out to the feeding grounds, he saw the daily routines being carried out. He walked out to the feeding grounds to go hunt for hope because he did that since she got there. He was happy he did too because it helped him think. He came back a minute later with hope (she went with him now because she didn't feel safe being alone without him), then they sat down and ate the caribou they caught together. Nick finished his half and looked at hope; s_he's even majestic when she eats_he thought as he daydreamed about all the events that led up to him meeting her. He was glad that that all happened to him, otherwise he wouldn't have met hope.
She finished and they decided to take a walk around the territory. As they walked he sensed a figure in the trees, he decided as long as it doesn't attack hope he'll leave it alone. The figure stepped out and nick saw it was butch, but he had an expression of pain and a deep claw mark across his flank. He dropped to the ground and passed out from blood loss, nick quickly picked up butch and carried him to the springs nick quickly dipped a paw into the springs to make it healing water, he then slowly put butch into the healing water to heal him. Butch woke up quickly and saw that nick had helped him, maybe I was wrong about nick butch thought as he looked at hope, then he smelled her heat. He suddenly went into a trance like state and started to walk toward hope. Nick quickly slapped him and butch snapped out of it. He said sorry and he didn't know what had happened. Nick suspected that hope had an effect that no other wolf had. She had to be protected by nick. " butch I'm not saying this to be mean, but stay away from hope during this season, she has an effect on male wolfs that no other female wolf has." Nick said with a serious face. Butch nodded as he understood what had happened. He quickly left the two in the springs. Nick nuzzled hope in the way she liked, which is right on the middle of her neck; he then pulled back and looked into hopes eyes, which were filled with love and affection. He just loved looking at her eyes. "Nick, sir, there's an attack on the northern front of the territory, they're asking us to hand over the golden wolf with violet eyes." Pedro, a Mexican wolf that just joined the pack and also an alpha, said as he ran into nicks springs. Pedro was one of nicks few friends and also one of his many admirers. Nick told hope to follow closely as he walked over to the northern front of the territory. He got there and saw 35 wolfs lined up there, including their leader Antonio. "Give us the she wolfs now as payment for our peace treaty, or else we will go to war" Antonio said as he motioned his alphas to surround us. "Hmm let me think about it, no I will not hand Hope over to a couple of mangy wolfs for them to rape her innocent body until she is nothing but a used up toy of yours" nick said with evident fury in his voice. Nick also said this with a snarl to emphasize his point. The 35 wolfs didn't know of his power and started to move in on him he motioned for Pedro to go, and the wolfs let him go. It was just hope and nick then. So nick told hope to fly off, "but nick, they will kill you" hope said with a scared expression on her beautiful face. "Don't worry hope, I'll be fine" nick said, and then hope spread her wings of moonlight and flew off. Nick started off by spin kicking a wolf in the face, then he jumped off and other wolfs back and did a back flip onto another wolf and crushed his skull. He then jumped up and sliced 10 wolfs apart without even getting a scratch. Then all the remaining wolfs jumped on him scratching him up. Then Austin, a light gray wolf with green eyes, and also nicks friend, noticed nick getting attacked by about 18 wolfs from the northern pack. "Need some help Nick?" Austin asked as he walked up to the fight. "Kinda, since I'm about to get shredded by like 19 wolfs" nick said as he tried to fend off 18 wolfs. "Well I counted 18" Austin said as he started to fight next to nick. "So what's this about, did you ask the wrong girl out again" Austin joked as he fought. "No, I'm defending hope from getting taken and abused." Nick said seriously as he defeated the last of the wolfs. Austin walked off to go see a couple of his friends. He walked over to where hope was to see that she was crying he snuck up quietly and stopped behind her, he slowly crept up behind her and touched her on the shoulder, she spun around and slapped nick in the face, leaving three shallow cuts across his face. "I kinda deserved that, although I might die from blood loss now." Nick said jokingly. Then he passed out from blood loss.
Nick woke up 10 minutes later to see he was surrounded a couple wolfs. There was hope, serina, Iceana, tony, and Evalyn. He looked at hope to comfort her and tell her he was awake. He saw that she had been crying, along with Iceana and serina. He decided to play a joke on them all, just to prank them. He fake gasped and stopped breathing; he laughed in his thoughts and waited for them to leave. They all ran out crying and he got up despite the pain, he ran to the cliff where he first jumped off and sat down to look at the moon. He watched as the moon rose high into the sky. He noticed that no one came out of their dens. So he just sat on the cliff till morning. When morning came and everyone came out of their dens they saw a wolf sitting on a high cliff. "Don't do it, you have a lot to live for" they yelled at nick but he wasn't listening he just stared at the crowd and smiled. He then got up, faced the cliff, and jumped off. He flew through the air on wings made of moonlight. He flew off to a secret grave site where his dads' soul and body lay. He got there and set down on the ground and lay on the dirt. He came here sometimes to think. His pack would go to war soon and he started it because he wouldn't give up hope. _ But if you did then they would have her and would have killed her after using her body up_ nicks thoughts told him now go back to her and save her from evil a voice in his head said as he heard a scream that he recognized as hopes. He took off and flew faster than a bullet. He arrived to hope to see a northern wolf on top of her trying to rape her. Nick quickly tackled him and threw him to the ground. "if you or your pack ever do this again I will personally tear all of you apart and scatter all of the parts across the world so no one will ever find them, then I'll curse your souls to eternal torture." Nick said to the wolf while breaking his paw. "Now go back to your pack and tell them exactly what I said or I'll pay a very bloody visit to them." The wolf whined in pain but scurried into the forest as fast as he could. Nick looked at hope to see her passed out; he quietly lay next to her and slept there.
The next morning hope woke up to see nick lying next to her. She smiled to herself knowing that he was there to protect her. She nuzzled him but softly enough to just wake him. Nick woke up with a yawn as he looked over to hope. She had a look of pure love in her eyes, she then tackled him into the feeding grounds (they fell asleep at the edge of it) as she started to kiss him in front of all the wolfs. Nick heard some bones snap as he pulled back and looked over. A couple guys had broken bones in their mouths as they stared. He shrugged and got up slowly and walked over to the feeding grounds and sat down to eat with hope next to him. He was about to eat when a very large wolf known as Alberto, also nicks friend, sat on him. "Nope alphas first" he said as he laughed, so did hope. Hope laughed "yea nick alphas first" she said as she laughed uncontrollably. She said this as she also sat on nick. "Hmm comfy pillow for when I eat" she couldn't stop laughing. Nicks smile grew as he got an idea. Strength flooded through him as he started to stand with Alberto and hope on his back, their combined weight was about 350 pounds as he also picked up a couple pups that also liked him. Altogether there was about 500 pounds on him total. Everyone stared in shock as nick picked up all these wolfs at once. No one there was even able to lift Alberto by himself, let alone all those wolfs together. He then walked over to tony. "Having second thoughts about making me an omega?" he said as he laughed slightly. Tony stared in shock as he saw nick carrying 13 wolfs with little problem. "Yea" was all tony said as nick laughed harder and put everyone down. He started to walk off slowly and deliberately left paw marks in his wake. He walked off to his den that he made by his favorite springs. As he left he said "I'm not hungry" he got to his den and sat at the entrance. He lowered his head and thought of how he would howl. He decided a certain howl he had been thinking of for a long time. He lifted his heat to the sky and started to howl. The howl was full of peace and comfort, soothing anyone who heard it. His howl was soothing to even the most savage of fights.
A couple minutes later nick sat in a clearing with his back to the forest leading to his den. He sat facing the sea, one of his favorite places to visit when he thought about things. He felt a cool sea breeze carry across the clearing he sat in. he closed his eyes and listened to the soft sounds of the waves. He suddenly had a thought to show hope this place that he liked. As he walked he noticed voices coming from his friends den. He walked in to say hi when he saw hope lean to his friend and kiss him. Nick stared in shock as he saw a sight that broke his heart. He felt a feeling much worse than death. Hope turned with a smile on her face, but she saw nick standing in the entrance with tears in his eyes. She was about to say something when nick ran off toward the ocean. He got there quickly and jumped off the cliff, diving into the ocean. He surfaced on a rock not far from the beach where he first swam. He heard soft songs of the deep, knowing this was sirens he howled alerting them he was there. A young siren surfaced next to him, laying on the rock next to him and transforming into a female wolf. She walked up to nick and sat next to him, nuzzling him softly. He smiled, knowing this siren to be Bella, his friend. She was like his sister, and to her he was like her brother. So they shared secrets and just trusted each other with their lives. He saw hope dive off the cliff and surface out in Open Ocean. She was going to drown, even if he didn't like her right then, he couldn't let her die. So he jumped in and saved her quickly. She was not a water wolf, in fact not many wolfs knew how to swim at all. He dragged her t the beach with Bella next to them. He quickly pumped the water out of her lungs, and she opened her eyes to see nick had saved her. "Nick, I'm so sorry. He was my brother from another clan, that's how his and my clan say goodbye to one another." She explained quickly as she cried into his shoulder fur heavily. "You're the only one I will ever love, you saved my soul," She cried even harder. Nick thought for a second and lifted her head to look into her eyes, which were blurred with tears of sadness. The truth within them let him know she was not lying. He softly leaned forward and brought her into a passionate kiss. He suddenly felt a wet hand on his back; he turned around to see Bella standing there with a stupid looking grin across her face. "What is it Bella?" nick asked as he looked at her, "oh nothing...just my little bro is in love with a 'girl'" she said 'girl' with an extra squeal and an even stupider grin than ever. Nick just rolled his eyes as he explained who and what Bella was. Hope just accepted it all and said hi to Bella before we left the beach and walked back to the den where nick and hope laid down and closed their eyes, thinking of each other as they both fell asleep.
