Sabin sighed softly and slumped in his chair at the airport, nervous about his flight. He heard his plane being announced over the intercom and stood up, grabbing his bags and headed to the gate he needed. He walked up to the flight attendant and smiled, handing the lioness his ticket. "Thank you sir, please board now and have a safe flight!" Sabin nodded and smiled to her, and walked through the terminal, and into the plane. He looked down at his paper and found his seat. He sank down into it, not noticing the husky/fox that was sitting next to him, staring at him with emerald left eye and cerulean right eye. "Hiya Mister!" The young Fox/husky said, startling Sabin a bit. "Waaah! W-who are you?" He jumped a bit, asking hurridly. "Oh, I'm sorry for scaring you!" He giggled and smiled at Sabin. "My name is Dakota, is this your first time flying?" He asked, watching his face. "W-Well...not really, but its a really important ride.." Sabin said, his voice getting soft at the end, and tearing slightly, as he looked away and wiped his eyes. Dakota had noticed the small tears and reached up and rubbed Sabin's ears. "Awww, whats wrong, Sir?" He asked, a little worried over Sabin's actions. "N-Nothing little one.." He looked back at Dakota and faked a smile. "I..I'm just going to-" Dakota grinned big, and quickly reached up and took hold of Sabin's head. "Save your boyfriend right?" He looked down at him. "Wh-what? How did you...?" He asked as Dakota sat back down. "Oh..I'm sorry..Heh, I can..read thoughts sometimes, and you seemed really down..Sooo...yeah.." He smiled softly, his white teeth showing. Sabin blinked at him and sighed, and shook his head a little. "Mhm..Thats right..And thats an amazing ability you have there, Dakota." Sabin said, looking at Dakota and noticing his eyes were of different colors. Dakota tilted his head and grinned, "So...who is the lucky guy to have a cute wolf like you, sir?" He asked, as Sabin blushed lightly. "H-His name is Tsu." He responded. Almost immediately Dakota's eyes shot open and he whimpered softly. Sabin tilted his head again, and put a hand on Dakota's shoulder. "Whats wrong, Dakota?" He asked, as Dakota looked back at him and a tear rolled down his right cheek. Sabin, for some reason, felt his heart falling even further as Dakota whimpered again and told him, "T..Tsu is m-my brother..!" He said and sat back in his seat, looking down at his lap and his ears flat against his head. Sabin blinked a few times, "R-really?" He said, watching the younger one. Dakota nodded and looked back at Sabin, and wiped his tears, replacing them with a smile. "Yeah! And, I'll help you save him, alright?" He said, as Sabin slowly nodded, causing his tail to wag in happiness. Suddenly, the plane started up and Sabin sat back in his set, claws out and holding tight to the arm rests. Dakota giggled, watching Sabin as the plane began to fly down the runway, and soon lift into the air. "Don't worry, Sir. The plane isn't going to crash or anything." He said, nodding his head in a matter-of-fact way. Sabin still clung to the armrests, but relaxed a little, and smiled over at Dakota. "Your right...and please, since your like family to me now, what with being Tsu's brother, you can call me Sabin." He said, watching Dakota's eyes light up. "Okay Si- Sabin!" He said happily, leaning over and giving Sabin a hug, and a kiss on his cheek, causing both of them to blush a little. "S-So, Dakota. Do you know that Tsu is--" He was saying before Dakota looked over at him, a slight angered look on his face. "My brother is not a vampire!" He said suddenly, and a little loud. Sabin blinked several times, unsure if Dakota was protecting Tsu, or he didn't like the fact his brother was a vampire. "D-Dakota..whats wrong?" He asked, wanting to know which it was. "T-Tsu..He isn't a vampire.." He said softly, letting Sabin know now that he indeed was trying to protect him. "Dakota.." He said, reaching over and pulling over a now trembling and sniffling Dakota into his lap. "I know..your trying to protect him..But its okay, I...He turned me into one as well." He softly whispered into Dakota's ear. The little foxsky turned his head quickly to him and gasped. "What!?" He cried softly, climbing back into his own seat. "Mhm.." Sabin nodded, and bared his fangs, to prove it. Dakota blinked and touched them softly and shivered, his tail gently wagging. "S..So he finally did find someone to change first..." he said softly, as if he were a little saddened by it. "What..do you mean?" He asked, confused but picking up on Dakotas tone of voice. The younger Foxsky just shook his head and smiled. "Don't worry about it, maybe some day I'll find the courage to tell my tale. Til then, just Enjoy the ride cutie." He said and climbed into Sabin's lap and cuddled with him, feeling as if he could trust the lion greatly. About an hour later, he was asleep on Sabin's lap, curled up into a big with fuzzy ball. Sabin chuckled and held him there the rest of the trip, calmed to have someone there with him. * * *

Several hours later

  • * * "Dakota, wake up." Sabin said, shaking Dakota. The foxsky mumbled something in his sleep and stretched out on Sabin's lap, rolling onto his belly, as the plane landed in the Berlin airport. "Hahaha, come on Dakota, we've arrived in Berlin." He said again, and shook Dakota again. The foxsky mumbled again and sat up, his medium length hair all disheveled. He wiped at his eyes and yawned big, stretching his whole body, arms going above his head and legs going straight out as he curled his toes, his claws glinting in the light that shown out of the small bulbs, inside of the plane. "Where..?" He said, his voice surprisingly deep as his vocal cords had been relaxed. Suddenly a voice rang out over the intercom. "Wir sind in Berlin angekommen, bitte Ihre Sachen ergreifen und herausnehmen die Fläche durch den Ausgang. Erinnern Sie sich, seien Sie eine nette, organisierte Linie und kein Druck." It said. Sabin tilted his head, and scratched it. "U-Um..what?" He said, not understanding german at all. " 'We have arrived in Berlin, please grab your things, and exit the plane through the exit. Remember, be a nice, organized line, and no pushing.' " Dakota giggled, translating. "O-Oh..wow um..okay!" Sabin said, grabbing his bags and such. He noticed Dakota had nothing with him at all, not even a small bag. "Didn't you bring anything, Dakota?" He asked. The foxsky shook his head slowly and wrung his paws and chewed on his lower lip. "N..Nope.." He said quietly. "I..I um..I ran away from home.." He looked down now, feeling like Sabin was going to give him a lecture. To his surprise, Sabin knelt down a little to get to his hight, which wasn't that far from his. "It's okay, not everyone can live a perfect life." He said softly, and continued; "Look at me, since I was a child I've been in and out of trouble. Hell, foster homes basically became a second home to me." He blushed a little as he told Dakota that. The foxsky looked a little surprised. "Whoa..so your a deviant too huh..?" He said softly, blushing. "W-Well..we better get going." Dakota said, hugging Sabin and then walking with the lion out of the plane. -H a h n A i r p o r t- They both walked into the Berlin airport terminal, and was greeted by a stocky skunk. "Vielen Dank dafür, mit uns zu fliegen, kommen Sie bitte wieder!" He said in a soft voice, smiling brightly. "Thank you for flying with us, please come again!" Dakota translated quickly, as he saw Sabin get a confused look. The lion giggled and nodded, blushing and sweat dropping a little. Dakota giggled and led him out of the airport quickly. -The Streets of Berlin; Outside of the Hahn Airport+ "Whoa.." Sabin said in awe, looking around, admiring the skies, even though they were clouded over at that moment. "Come on, Come on!" Dakota said, pulling Sabin's arm towards the road. "Taxi!" Dakota waved a paw up in the air. A moment later a taxi pulled up and Dakota opened the back door. "Wow..You sure know your way around here Dakota..Even the language." Sabin said, getting in after Dakota, and closing the cab door. "Yeah..haha..I've been here with father over a million times, I swear. Where do you want to go now, Sabin?" He asked, blushing just a little. "Um..Wow that's a lot of times, so I'm going to go with your help very well!" Sabin said, giggling a little. "Um..Know any good pubs..? We need to gather information on a beast.." He said, his stomach a little anxious. Dakota's eyes lit up and he nodded, and turned to the driver; "Können Sie uns in die Königen Bar bitte bringen?" He said smoothly. "Gut!" The driver replied and put the car in gear, and drove off. "So...What made you run away from home, Dakota. Er..If its okay that I ask, that is." Sabin said, turning his head to look at Dakota. The foxsky's ears flattened and he looked down at his tattered pants. "I-I'm sorry..I didn't mean to bring up any bad memories.." He said softly, feeling bad. "No..It's okay Sabin." Dakota took a deep breath and let it out and looked up, and off into the distance. "I ran..from home because of my mother. She was always putting me down, saying I'll never be as good as Tsu, or that I'll never go to college because I was failing in school. So..About a month ago I.." He looked down and showed his left paw which had a deep cut that had been stitched up horribly, "Mom and I..got into a fight..She put me in the hospital..b-but..I put her in the grave.." He began to cry softly. Sabin cringed a little, wondering if Tsu knew and he pulled Dakota against him and softly coo'd in his ear, rubbing the Foxsky's back comfortingly. He then felt several little scratches and whatnot on his back and blinked. "Dakota.." He leaned up and pulled the Foxsky forward a bit and lifted up his shirt and gasped, he had several cuts on his back, none of them really fresh, but were scabbed over. "W..What happened?" He said, as Dakota sat back up straight. "...Father. He found out about the fight a little while back, and caught up to me. H-He..beat the hell out of me.." He cried even more now, falling against Sabin as the tears flowed out, and as he sobbed loudly. Sabin turned his body, back to the car door and brought Dakota into his lap, holding him between his legs, Dakota's back to his chest. He kissed at Dakota's head to calm him down. "It's okay, You have you brother....and Me to protect you now." He said softly, rubbing the Foxsky's chest gently. Dakota kept crying, curling up against Sabin, rolling onto one side and nuzzling the lion's chest softly, his tears slowing down as he calmed. The cab began to slow now as they neared the pub. "Hey..Dakota, first, where's the clothes store..?" Sabin asked quietly. "A few blocks down this street and to the right...why?" He said back, looking up at Sabin. "Well, if your going to help me, you'll need to look good. People won't take us seriously if I look like a clown, and you look like a street urchin." He giggled softly and ruffled Dakota's hair and ears. The foxsky smiled and nodded, "He, können Sie, uns ins Mazooka Tuchlager bitte bringen, wir werden zusätzlich zahlen." He said to the driver. "Fein." He replied and he put the car back into gear and drove off. -Berlin; Mazooka Cloth Store- As Sabin and Dakota walked out of the cab, the both saw the store in front of them and smiled at each other. "Let's go!" Sabin said and ran with Dakota into the store. They walked through the aisles together, laughing and blushing at some of the things they thought cute and picked things that they wanted. At the cash register, the clerk was giving them funny looks, probably because he had never seen two guys running through aisles of clothes giggling. "Uh..Hi!" Sabin said, grinning as they both put clothes on the counter for the clerk to scan. "Sabin, I don't think she speaks english--" "Hey, what's up?" The clerk interrupted, grinning. Dakota blinked and looked back at her and smiled. "Betta?" He said softly. "Yup." She said, her hair all done up in a punk style, her shirt tight and pink, with a loose black sweater over it, and her pants just as tight, and black. "Yeah! Why the sudden change from school girl to Miss Badass?" Dakota asked softly, amused. "Haha, why not? That little goody goody two shoes is goooone! Outta here!" She snapped her fingers and grinned evilly. Dakota shook his head and placed his paws on his hips. "Yeah well, I'm not the same either, y'know." He stuck his tongue out at her. She cocked an eyebrow. "Is that so?" She said, eyeing him up and down. "Yup. I don't date girls, told you I never would." He laughed and wiggled his hips back and forth. She laughed and leaned over the counter. " "So is that thing between you and I a 'for fun' thing or what?" She teased, talking about the summer they had spent together awhile back. He blushed and crossed his arms. "There was no sex and you know it." He said, as she laughed. "Hahahaha. I know, I'm just giving you a hard time because I friggen missed you!" She said, pouncing over the counter and tackled him. He yelped out loudly from suprise and fell back, and on to his back, as she sat on him. "W-Well I guess you--" "Betta! What have I told you about attacking the customers!?" A deep raspy voice came from the intercom of the store. Betta blinked and whimpered softly. "Yes, Mr. Duke." She said and got up sadly, going back behind the counter and ringing up the clothes. Sabin looked at her quizically. "Your going to let him boss you around like that?" He suddenly said. She looked up at him in surprise. "Of course! He's my boss, and I don't want to get fired.." She said, putting the clothes in a bag. Sabin shook his head. "You don't have to you know.." He said, helping Dakota up. The foxsky nodded slowly, looking at her with a smile. "...But I have to make money somehow!" She said loudly all of a sudden. Dakota flinched softly at the loud voice and hid behind Sabin, causing the wolf to growl just a little. Betta blinked and looked down. "Th-That'll be Fifty six ninety two.." She said softly. Sabin nodded and handed her that ammount, as well as a slip of paper with his cell number on it. "Call us if you need anything. And I mean it, anything." He said and smiled, taking the bagged close as she blinked at them, taking Dakota to the dressing rooms. Betta stood there, her tigress features stuck in a somewhat confused look, yet with a huge smile. -Dressing Room At Mazooka's Cloth Store- Dakota went in a seperate room from Sabin, and he set the clothes he picked up on the hooks in there and quickly took off his torn shorts and his scuffed up shirt. He stood naked now, looking at himself in the mirror, looking at all of the cuts and bruises on him and he sighed. He rubbed at the large one on his chest where his father had shot him, and still couldn't understand why he was still alive. He looked back out of the dressing room, seeing no one was there and he pulled out a medallion from his shorts. "Please don't be mad.." He whispered as the medallion gently began to glow. He held it to his heart, the medallion getting brigther as he did and he gasped, dropping it now and going down to his knees, a tear falling from his eyes as he held his chest, panting. He sat there for a few minutes, and heard Sabin come out of his dressing room. "Hey, you done yet?" The wolf asked, knocking on the door. Dakota tried to tell him yeah, he was close but nothing came out. "Dakota?" He knocked again, growing slightly worried. Dakota coughed a few times. "I..I'm fine Sabin, don't worry. I am just admiring the clothes.." He said, slowly getting up and quickly dressing himself in the style he used to wear all of the time. He took the medallion, looking at it as it faintly glowed still and jammed it in his new pocket. He wiped his eyes quickly and turned, opening the door. He looked at Sabin and immediately began to laugh. The wolf was wearing very loose pants, black boots a short tight pink shirt and a black fishnet sweater over it, and a pink collar with a small cross hanging from it. "What?" Sabin asked, tilting his head. "N..ahahaha nothing!" Dakota laughed, walking to Sabin and leaning against him to hold himself up. Sabin rolled his eyes and sighed, grinning. "Okay, where to now?" He then asked the foxsky. "The pub, of course. Remember?" Dakota said, already walking out the door.
