The Heralds Tale
Just a small story that I wrote, not cannon with my other stories just to let you guys know, anyway I hope you all like it. ^,..,^
It was raining outside in a small unnamed city on the east coast of America. Lupus new that his human, Kate, would probably wait until after school to walk him in the hope that it would stop raining: but he didn't care. He sat patiently at the bottom of the stairs with his lead in his maw wagging his long black bushy tail every time he heard a noise that could be a footstep upstairs. He glanced at the full length mirror at the bottom of the stair to check he'd cleaned all of his fur. His shaggy black coat was neatly flattened down; check, his white under belly was fully; check, and the grey and red markings that separated the two colours were all straightened out; check. He was at maximum cuteness to try and get a walk.
Suddenly, he heard a click and looked up the stairs to see steam flood from the bathroom door as it opened. A strong, 18 year old girl who stood at about 5 ft 11 slipped out, her soft white skin glistening with moisture. Lupus let out a whimper and she froze and stared at him. He glanced at her body, always fascinated by the Maori style tribal tattoo the coiled up her right calf and the matching one that wrapped itself round her left upper arm. She quickly covered her large breasts and crotch, giving Lupus only a glance at her bar piercings through her nipples and her pubic hair which she shaved into a neat heart. Lupus whimpered again and dropped the lead on the bottom step.
"No," She smirked. "You know the drill, no walk until after school."
Lupus whimpered again for good measure but she just giggled and walked out of sight.
Later, she came downstairs wearing loose black pants with red trim and loops hanging from the side and a black corset over her red tube top. Her dark brown hair had its red extensions in and was tied black behind her head. Lupus padded over and followed her into the kitchen. He sat obediently as she prepared a bowl or raw meat for him, and a bowl of coco pops for her. The two then sat on the bottom step, Kate eating her food slowly while Lupus buried his face in his bowl and wolfed every single piece. She half smiled at him as he sat in front of her waging his tail, he wanted more food or a walk, and they both knew he wasn't getting either until she got home.
"You know, later I'm going out to the junkyard." She said as she swallowed a mouthful of coco pops.
Lupus cocked his head and made a questioning groan.
She giggled and gave him a quick scratch behind his ear. "After your walk obviously."
He nodded once and wagged his tail a little faster.
"Anyway, I was gonna ask if you wanted to come with me this time?"
Lupus nodded and barked once.
She smiled and put her bowl down and pulled him into a hug. "Good, but you gotta behave yourself okay? No biting people or running off."
Lupus nodded as he nuzzled her neck, purring a little.
She smirked pushed his head onto her shoulder. "You know that tickles."
He grinned and tried to look innocent.
She giggles again and scratched him behind his ear "You be good okay, I'll be back in a few hours, I've only got morning lessons." He nods stepping away as she grabs her shoulder bag and leaves putting her headset on.
5 hours later, the two of them where just trekking into a junkyard at the edge of the city. Lupus' lead hung from Kate's belt, him only needing to wear it so people felt safe around him. His huge body that was easily larger than a wolf's, always scared pedestrians in the city. But they weren't in the city anymore. They were in the outskirts, in their own territory. As they passed under the archway that marked the entrance to their true home, Lupus glanced up at the structure made out of pieces of metal and wood crudely nailed together, the letters made from bits of pipe spelt out Dark Hounds in large gnarled letters.
Kate lead them through the maze of stacked cars, flashing the blood red tattoo on her neck to the various guard to prove they were meant to be there and eventually they came to a large clearing deep in the junkyard. At the centre a large stage had been constructed with a large stone alter at its centre. A lone man walked out onto the stage as lightening lapped at the posts on the stage. Kate and Lupus followed the crowd to the stage. Wind swirled up and dark clouds moved in as the Man, their leader stepped up to the microphone.
His long black trench coat blew back as he declared. "Friends, family." He began, his ominous voice echoing over the masses. "Today we take the next step in our journey to freedom. On this stage, we have the blood alter, given to us by the Great One." He paused and scanned the crowed before continuing. "Today, one of our brethren has been chosen to join the Great One's Herald so that we may gain the powers we seek."
The crowd murmured and Lupus edges closer to Kate, getting a bad looming feeling.
"Sister Zensha, come up here please." Their leader called and the entire crowd turn to look at Kate. She walked silently up to the stage, Lupus trailing her protectively. The leader smiled and greeted her with open arms. "Welcome sister, we thank you for your sacrifice."
Kate nodded stiffly, conflicted between her devotion to the order and her sense of survival. Lupus sat next to her glaring up at the leader, Garrod...Garrod Jacen, with anger at the thought of his Kate being taken from him.
Garrod turned to the stone alter and knelt before it. He cried out the ancient words of incantation. His eyes burned with power and the lightening lapped fiercely at the poles around the stage as the words "Dearest Herald of the night, we your servants call to you for an audience, so that we may share what we have for you!"
A spark began to burn above the alter before suddenly bursting into a spherical portal, bringing forth the Herald. She stepped out slowly, one heavy, metal coated hoof at a time revealing her dark brown shaggy furred legs. Then her clipped furred upper body. Her voluptuous breasts covered only by a tight black crop top. Next her black scaled wings sprouted from her back, the razored talons on the ends flexing menacingly. Lastly her horned goat head passed into their realm, her imposing crimson eyes scanning the mortals around her.
"Where is the champion Garrod?" She asks, not bothering to look at him.
"Ch-champions?" he looked up shocked.
"Yes the one I choose to join with me to be the first to receive the gift of my powers." Garrod looked at her stunned into silence. After seeing he was useless she growled and turned to Kate grabbing her by the arm and jumping back into the portal bringing Kate with her.
Lupus growled and bit into Kate's pant leg, pulling at it, his powerful body able to hold her legs in his realm. Then suddenly the fabric ripped and she fell into the portal. Lupus howled and jumped head first into the swirling blood red ball of energy just before it closer, cutting the end of his tail off.
