In The Wake of War Chapter Three: Escape
#3 of In The Wake of War
Yol sighed, night was falling quick now, she'd rode several miles
on horseback, but she was certain the animal couldn't go much further
and they both needed water. Up ahead she could smell water, with
a grin of excitement, "Gloriah, Jeniria water's up ahead. We can
drink our fill and maybe even have a bath!" Kicking her boots against
the horse they went into a fast gallop, once they were close to the
water, Yol pulled back on the reins, "Whoa girl, whoa!" and of course
Gloriah came to a stop.
Yol slid down off the mare and led her to the water by the reins.
Gloriah bent her head down and lapped up the water with her tongue,
thirsty as any horse could get and excited to be allowed to drink
from such a lovely river of water. Yol also drank till her thirst was
quenched by the cool water that she allowed into her digestive system.
Taking a rope Yol tied it around Gloriah's neck, it was
long enough to allow her to graze. Once she was certain that Gloriah
would not be able to run away and was able to graze the grass she
removed the clothing she now wore that disguised her as being
female and made one think she was a young male with a fresh
face, then proceeded to leap into the chilly water,
it was cold, but not overtly so. She even brought in Jeniria with
her. Earlier she'd found a bar of soap that Yannis had somehow slipped
in without her noticing.
With glee she began to lather the soap and clense herself of
the blood and dirt caked upon her body as well as her dolls. She
hadn't taken notice of the light in the distance signillaing there
was a house somewhere a couple miles ahead. Nor did she see the male
Jaguar fur hanging by his wrists naked as the day he was born
on a tree limb. She was to absorbed in her bathing as she scrubbed
herself with a piece of cloth now lavthered in soap.
Yol ran the cloth over her pert young breasts slowly as her mind
focused on what the future held. She would get her revenge,
rescue Torry and whoever else who had been taken prisoner
from her village. She didn't notice that she was paying particular
attention to her nipples that stood erect as though she were
aroused, but if she knew she'd put it down to the fact that she
was somewhat cold, especially if she knew there was a male
present even if he hadn't noticed her quite yet. Then shaking
her head she once more focused on the task at hand as she ran
the cloth over her abdomen scrubbing her legs and feet, giving
a little giggle here and there as it tickled in some areas. Finally
she came to the last part of her body she washed, the mound between
her thighs. Remembering what had happened last night she wanted
to scrub away again and again at that tender area, but knew better
and slowly began to wash away anything, dirt, blood or cum that
might be caught in her fur around that area.
Gar hearing splashes about nearby opened his eyes, they widened,
seeing the child there. She seemed slightly familiar though he
could not recall where he had met her, she was nearly squeaky clean
and he hadn't seen her doll as it was on a rock now on the other side
of the shore getting dried. He was certain she'd be going in the
direction of the house that Delieah and Snicker lived in and he
couldn't bare the thought of someone so young going through such
a tragic thing. He called out a muffled word meant to be hey,
but it came out more like, "Hemph." He wanted to get her
attention to warn her, even though he was entranced by
watching her cleanse herself in such a private area, he
felt himself becoming aroused by growled at himself inwardly.
He knew he shouldn't be feeling or thinking about such things,
he just wanted to help her get away before they found her.
Apparently she was to young and even if she were not, he
had nothing to offer her and apparently with the look in
her eyes at times, she had a mission of her own.
Yol shot from the water like a startled doe being stalked by
hunters, dropping the clothe and the soap somewhere
within the ripples of the river. . She hid behind the horse and
dressed haphazardly. "Whose there?"
Gar just made other muffled noises. Causing Yol to become irritated.
She waded herself and Gloriah across, with Jeniria on the back of
the saddle. She wasn't going to be frightened off by some prankster.
Once on the other side she saw some form by a tree and stepping
closer, her eyes widened. "What are you doing without your clothes
on?" she looked up at him and saw his eyes, they were watery,
frightened and familiar though she swear that she wouldn't be able
to forget such a handsome face like his, tanned to a golden bronze
by the sun and hair ebony with streaks of a lighter color. She noticed
the tail and ears, a Jaguar furre. She began to quake in fear, then
banished it, he didn't appear to be the same he was a furre, not
an anthro, nor did he seem beastly or cruel. He too looked as though
he'd been through things as horrid as herself even if that were not
the case someone had tied him to the tree and left him there gagged.
She had to mount Gloriah in order to remove the gag, then she had
to stand with a knife taken from her pocket to cut the rope.
Gar fell to the ground on his feet then hands and knees as he gasped
for air having held it while she used the knife. "Thank you, I am
at your mercy ma'am."
Yol, "You saw me. It would have been far better for a gentleman
to close his eyes even if he could not turn around."
"I am sorry, but... if you go up to their house they will do the
same to you. When I saw you it made me think that if I could get
your attention maybe I could save you from them. I am there slave."
"Why don't you run away."
"I know no one, nor where to go, and am afraid they would take
me back to them." he stood up and looked for his clothes, someone
earlier had come to laugh at him and take all the clothes back
to the house.
Yol seeing his dilema was glad she had packed some of Yannis's
sons clothes from when he was older, but they still looked to small
for this male. She handed him a pair of trousers none the less.
They fit his waist, but quite a bit of his legs were shone. A shirt
would not fit him though, he was much more muscular and had a wider
breth of shoulder than it appeared Yannis's sons had had. "You know,
I'm young and a female alone. Perhaps I'll be in need of a body-guard.
Perhaps you would do me the honor of being that for having saved
you from these horrid people if you come with me. I don't know if
Gloriah could hold both our weights though, so you'd have to walk
until we came somewhere where we could buy you a mount and some
clothes."
Gar looked up at her his eyes shimmering, he'd never dreamed
someone would care enough to want to help him get away, but what
if she wanted more, but then she was alone save for the mare
and she was small and young. Maybe he could go with her and protect
her and she would be his salvation. "I'd like that ma'am, I'd be
mighty grateful, but how do you know if you can trust me."
"I don't know, but I know this, no one deserves to go through
what you apparently did. Take a quick bath and we'll be on our way.
And please don't call me ma'am I plan to get into the army and trust
me on this, they don't allow females in so I have to make them think
I'm male alright?"
Gar nodded in understanding. Maybe this army she talked about would
let him in, whatever it was. Although it brought to mind an image
of men in suits marching down the street while he sat beside
some man in a strange suit with something golden sitting on his head.
He shook himself mentally, no use in remembering what might not
be real.
Yol smiled, "Good. Now take the bath and we'll be on our way."
Gar of course complied then redressed and followed her to the house,
was she going to turn him in to them. Then when they were close
they moved across the front lawn and into the forest on the otherside,
where no one had dared go before, even himself, but with Yol he felt
that he shouldn't, couldn't be afraid, because he had to protect her.
She was perhaps to young for him, but if he wasn't careful he was
sure he'd end up falling in love with her, if he already hadn't
by now. He could hear Delieah and Snicker yelling after him, they'd
seen them go into the forest, but they daren't go in themselves. He
grinned and whooped, "Free at last. Thank you, thank you so much
ma'am, uh I mean sir!"
Yol smiled, "The name is Yolanda. You can call me Yol."
He nodded and took her extended hand in his and gently kissed
the back of it, wondering why he'd felt that was the thing to do
even though he'd never done it or seen it done before, unless it was
something of the mysterious past he could no longer remember. "Gar,
at your service."
They smiled at one another, they'd escaped with their lives in tact
he was certain for one reason or another, kindred spirits in a way
perhaps they each thought even if the circumstances were not the same.
Together they'd make it they both were certain, they'd remain by
one anothers side come what may.
Gar's only thought was, 'What will happen when she finds out what
I am, what I turn into when the full moon is out... somehow I have
to make sure she doesn't know, for I'm sure she'll think me hidious
and wish me dead.' But right now he was to happy and would save that
thought for another day, as together they escaped to a new future
not knowing what lay ahead, but believing in hope.
