#9 of Malakye's Story - Character Profiles & Back Stories
Righty-oh-then, in the build up to the launch of the first chapter of the sequel to the story 'A Place to Belong' I have decided to post a brief back story form some of the more important characters that appeared in the story, not only giving you a quick reminder of the major events that they played in the story, but also extending it into their lives before the story began.

SUMMARY/BACKGROUD
Pre-Story
Rose moved to Zangar with her family when she was just 6 years old, shortly after the new settlement had been formed after the Zangarian dragons home had been destroyed by the wolves. seven years later both her mother and father fell prey to an illness and died, leaving Rose orphaned. She was taken in by a kind Zangarian, Zalamar, who looked after her until she was old enough. She got a job in the tavern 'The Travelling Maiden'.
She was shy about selling herself to the clientèle, but after much persuasion from the tavern woman she eventually learned to cope with it. It was usually over quickly and was a good source of coin. But eventually one of her clients fell in love with her and wouldn't leave her alone, and unfortunately for her he was not one to take no for an answer. He hounded her for weeks, and after she found out that he had attacked some of the furs that had 'employed her services', she stopped sleeping with anyone. She couldn't live with the thought of others getting hurt just so that she could earn some extra coin. She promised that she would not sleep with anyone for coin, so long as there was a chance that they would be hurt because of her stalker.
'A Place to Belong'
One night she was approached by a stallion for her services, a request she had heard often but always refused, but she was a little taken aback when she found out he wasn't the one that wanted her services; or rather, he wanted her to take someone else.
A black scaled dragon that the stallion had been with, she had served him earlier in the evening, his eyes had caught her attention. She didn't know why but there was just something familiar in them.
Knowing that he was travelling with Eric, a well known trader who never stayed more than a few days, she decided to give into her urges. She wanted to sleep with him, if for no other reason than to discover the reason of why his eyes enraptured her so much. She refused the coin, this was for her as much as it was for him, also she wouldn't break the promise she had made herself.
She quickly found herself falling for Malakye, the dragolf making her feel special. It was obvious that he was smitten with her, but she was also smitten with him. After they were attacked by Vireon she knew that her time with Malakye was going to be cut short, Vireon had not given up his crush on her. When Malakye's companions offered her a place with them she was delighted, and couldn't have been happier knowing that she would be able to be with Malakye and away from Vireon.
Before the could leave, both Rose and Malakye were attacked once again by Vireon and a gang of his hired thugs, an attack which resulted in her death.
