#2 of Road Rovers

Halloween chappie!!

A few weeks later, things were finally settling down. Everyone left for their missions, like usual, coming back safe and sound. From what I heard, everyone was becoming more and more cool with my and Exile's relationship. They were still a bit uneasy and surprised about my and Hunter's encounter, but the past is the past.

I was playing chess with Professor Shepherd when the Road Rovers came back from their latest mission. I was beating him by a landslide.

"We're back, Master," Hunter called.

"Sit by the sofa." He waved his hand, shooing them away. He was way too into this game. "But make sure to stay off of it. Just because Jay's here doesn't mean that you get to disobey the rules."

Hunter saluted and showed the rest of the crew to the living quarters.

I made my final move and trapped Prof Shepherd's king in a corner. If he didn't know any better, I'm pretty sure he would've rage-flipped the board and/or the table.

Instead, he only pinched the brim of his nose in frustration. "Why am I so terrible at this game?"

A few months later, Halloween came. Unfortunately, the Road Rovers didn't understand what Halloween was. But, with the help of Professor Shepherd, we were able to give them the full insight about this wondrous holiday.

The boys grinned and nodded in wonder. They wanted to learn more about this glorious holiday. Colleen just rolled her eyes, thinking that this was a stupid holiday. She thought that she was too old to wear silly little outfits that weren't needed for a specific mission.

"Ah, and that brings me to your mission," Professor Shepherd stated. "You'll have to go out tonight and find out if there's any trouble afoot."

"Are you serious?" Hunter asked, excited.

"Completely one-hundred percent."

Blitz smiled a big smile like a little schoolgirl and ran off to his room to go find something to wear. Sometimes I wondered about him.

"As for the rest of you," Professor Shepherd continued, "go and find something to wear as well. This mission is just as important as every other one."

Everyone but Colleen saluted. "Yes, sir!" they shouted and ran off to their designated rooms. I soon followed, grabbing my materials and walked myself to Exile's room.

Colleen, hesitantly, walked to her room as well.

"Hey, do you think that these tights make me look fatsky?" Exile asked, trying on some tights. He was going as Superman, while I was going as Lois Lane.

"You look fine," I soothed, adjusting my wig.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm positive. Please, don't worry about how you look. More people die that way."

"Really!?" he shouted. His eyes widened in fear.

"Yes. But don't let that get to you either. You'll be fine."

"Do you like saying this 'fine' that you speak of?"

"It's a word that helps keep people safe and secure. Trust me."

Exile nodded in agreement and continued to apply his costume to his broad, fuzzy body. I just stared at him as I slowly continued to put mine on as well. I wanted, oh so desperately, to wrap myself around him right then and there. But, with much concentration, I decided against it.

About half an hour later, we were all good to go. Hunter dressed as Aqua Man, while Blitz dressed as Batman. Shag dressed as a ghost, and Colleen dressed as (a very sexy, mind you) Wonder Woman.

We met at main headquarters, awaiting Professor Shepherd's orders.

He walked out through the sliding doors and spoke. "Well, it looks like you're good to go. Like I said before, patrol the city and look for and signs of trouble. Remember: you are on a mission; not to go trick-or-treating. No matter how tempting it might be, you are all still dogs, and some foods can affect you that doesn't affect us humans. Now, go out there and make me proud."

Everyone saluted in agreement. We all crammed into the Land Rover and sped off towards the city, ready to kick evil bunsky once and for all, yet again.
