Chapter 6: The Raid

*Lareet Lareet...Lareet Lareet. A sound was coming from Miles' pocket. Hearing it he reached in and pulled out a small phone and answers.*

Miles: Hello?

Galaxy Agent: Is this Miles of group delta?

Miles: Yes...ID 0503

Galaxy Agent: Confirmed. Miles the boss has ordered that you and your team return to base immediately.

Miles: What!? Why!? We were about to follow Vector, the leader of the crocodile army! Why are we being called back?

Agent: You and your team have been out in the field for too long. It's time you return, our base is low of manpower.

Miles: Can't you call back another team!? Vector might...

Agent: No butts...sorry I know you're looking for clues on your brother's whereabouts, but it's the boss's orders. Head back to base at once.

Miles: But...roger that, we're heading back now.

*Miles hangs up the phone and with a disappointed sigh and turns to Vance.*

Miles: Time to go home guys.

Kate: What!? But we're so close to one of the big leaders! That makes no sense! I say we go after that lizard anyway!

Evan: No way. Orders are orders and I don't want to have to deal with the boss either so let's head back.

Kate: Ugh fine whatever.

*Vance quickly did a U-turn and doubled back, taking a left road a little behind them and headed for the base. Meanwhile at the town of Oceibada, Hesh, Soulka, and Kibou were all packed ready to hit the road. After having breakfast and saying farewell to Glade the group set out for the Omega Galaxy headquarters. Along the way, in the middle of a mountain range, Kibou stopped the group for an important conversation.*

Kibou: Hey...we need to talk so let's take a break here.

Soulka: Huh? Well ok, sure.

Hesh: What's so important that we couldn't talk about it on the way?

Kibou: It's about Soulka's powers. We may run into trouble on the way, the base is hidden deep inside this mountain range. The problem is on the way there is a place called GigaShroad Path. The base was set up at the end of that path in order to make it hard to find and reach as in the path are very violent creatures. There is a shortcut around the path that leads to the base, but only Omega Galaxy members can use it. GigaShroad Path serves not only as a type of defense, but also a way to tell if someone has what it takes to join Omega Galaxy.

Hesh: Sounds harsh for a peace loving group. What if someone died?

Kibou: Oh no worries. There is always a trained Galaxy agent watching as you go through who steps in when needed.

Soulka: Hm...and all members go through this before joining?

Kibou: Well not all. This is just one of the many bases we have. What trial you get, depends on what base you go to. This is the hardest one because this is our main headquarters.

Soulka: Ok I get it. Anyway about my power...it's so awesome!

Hesh: Really? Tell me about it. I just remember you saying something about throwing up and that doesn't sound awesome.

Soulka: Well I was trapped in that bird's tornado and couldn't move. I was struggling, but I started to think about Miles and how much I wanted to return and eat with him again! That's when all the wind around me started flowing into my mouth. After that I threw it all back up and you know the rest.

Kibou: Ah. Sounds like your power is something like absorption of powers and attacks.

Hesh: Absorption? but he swallowed the attack and spit it up, not absorbed it.

Kibou: That's because he doesn't know how to use it. If he knew how to us it properly the energy from the tornado would've been absorbed in his stomach, giving him temporary wind powers like that bird, but since he didn't know how to use it the energy couldn't be held inside so he spit it up.

Hesh: I see. Well since you know so much I guess you'll have to teach him.

Kibou: Mhm...that's the plan. Alright Soulka I'm...

*Suddenly Kibou was cut off by a loud explosion behind them, just beyond the path. Turning their gaze toward the sound the group was greeted by a large amount of smoking rising into the air.*

Kibou: That's...coming from where the base is! We need to hurry!

*Kibou dashes off. Soulka and Hesh pick up their things and follows after him.*

Soulka: Hey wait is it ok to take the path!? I can't use my power yet!

Kibou: No time were using the shortcut!

*Kibou stops in front of a wall and places his paw onto it. He closes his eyes and to himself mumbles some words. "May the stars show us the way, to the galaxy and the realm of peace." Suddenly a large section of the mountain slid to the side opening up to a path. Without a word Kibou ran off inside Soulka and Hesh following close behind. The tunnel was long and dimly lit by a few lanterns, after a few minutes a door and light was finally in sight. The group burst through it and was greeted with a horrific scene. Computers and all electrical equipment was malfunctioning and shooting out sparks causing fires all around. Beast men were locked in combat, some already down covered in cuts and bruises. Kibou's face was a mix of fear and surprise as he stood there frozen, unable to fathom what was going on.*

Kibou: What...how could this happen?

Hesh: Hey, it looks like we don't have time to sit and wonder! We'd better get to work and fast!

Soulka: Yeah...things are getting worse by the second...let's go!

Kibou: *shakes his head to clear his mind and focus* Right! Ok, Hesh you and I will head into combat. Soulka try and get as many of the injured to safety as possible!

*Hesh and Soulka nodded and proceeded to follow their instructions. Soulka immediately ran to the nearest injured person he could find and picked them up, carrying them out into the secret tunnel. Meanwhile Hesh and Kibou teamed up and were mowing down the Feral Force agents one after another. As the number of invaders began to dwindle down a large explosion blasted a giant hole in the north wall letting in even more Feral Force agents. Hesh and Kibou braced themselves then charged straight into the horde knocking them out one by one. As hope seemed to return, a large crocodile walked through the hole with a blue croc on one side of him and a red one on the other. Kibou and Hesh both stopped their assaults and stared in shock.*

Kibou: Isn't that...

Hesh: Yeah...it's Vector and his pets. Things just got a little more complicated, but also very interesting.

Vector: Well well, if it isn't the two traitors. The mutt and the bear. So you two really were with this band of losers.

Hesh: Well I'm not, I'm here for other reasons.

Kibou: How'd you find this base Vector!?

Vector: Well let's just say an old friend gave me the hint I needed to point me in the right direction. Thanks to you might I add...Kibou.

Kibou: ...we were followed.

Vector: Yep, but not that it matters now. This place is about to be burned down and you all along with it! Get them my pets!

*At Vector's orders his two bodyguards charged at Hesh and Kibou with faces of pure rage and animosity. Meanwhile Miles and his team finally arrive at the mountain range.*

Vance: Hey...is that...smoke?

Kate: Yeah...and it's coming from the direction of the base!

Miles: Vance...floor it, let's go!

*Vance put the car back in drive and sped off toward the base. Soulka had finally gotten all the injured to safety. As he looked around he noticed how bad the places condition was. Debris was everywhere and the fires that were once small, were now growing large turning the place into something like Dante's inferno.*

Soulka: Wow this place is going to hell...might be best to make an escape. *Spots Hesh and Kibou fighting with Vector watching in the back* Ah! That guy back there must be the leader! If I take him down then the rest of them should leave with him! *Puts on his gauntlets and bumps his fist together* Alright! I'm going to end this madness!

*Soulka took a deep breath then charged straight at Vector. He was so distracted by his pets' battles, that he didn't even notice the wolf until he was right on him. Without hesitating Soulka threw a 1,2 combo right at Vector hitting him right in the gut. Soulka didn't stop and continued to bombard the croc with furious combos one after another, but after many hits Soulka finally realized the problem.*

Soulka: What the...he isn't even flinching...it's like my punches are nothing to him.

Vector: Hm? Who is this little pup? Ha you call those punches? How cute. Here let me show you a real punch.

*Vector then took his fist and cocked it back. Soulka still in shock didn't even realized the danger before it was already too late. After charging up power to his fist Vector let it fly, landing a powerful blow to the wolf's stomach, knocking the air out of him and sending him flying across the base. He crashed into a wall and was buried by debris. Vector then chuckled to himself and with a great leap, jumped all the way over to the wolf, walking slow over to him in the pile of rubble.*

Vector: Oops. Looks like I may have overdone it.

Hesh: Soulka!

*Hesh catching a glimpse of the assault tried to charge Vector, but was halted by the red crocs claw that had his arm. The beast then threw Hesh into a wall and roared before charging at the fallen husky.*

Hesh: You...you're in the way!!!

*Hesh holds his palms out, the glowing palm, emits his kunai, he manages to pull ten out; one attached to each finger. He jumps on top of the crocs head as he swipes to attack, pushing his head into the steel plated floor. Hesh flips into the air and plants five of his blades into the crocs back, the strings of magic attached to his fingers. He snaps his fingers casting the lightning on the two beast causing them to roar in pain. He then quickly throws his other set of kunai behind him making a wall between Soulka and Vector.*

Vector: Hmph...still an annoying mutt I see. Hm...this pup seems to be important to you...just like my ship was to me. I think it'd be a fair trade if I take him on a little trip...don't you agree?

*Vector then removed the giant hammer on his back and held it with both hands. Taking a deep breath a jewel in the center of the hammer began to glow, surrounding the weapon and Vector in an area of pure energy. Vector then raised the hammer above his head and swung with great strength, roaring as the hammer came down on the wall. The wall of light and the weapon seem to clash as sparks of energy flew out until finally the wall was shattered into pieces like glass.*

Hesh: Impossible...how did you...that jewel...

Vector: That's right. I was finally able to harness the power into this weapon you see here. I know you figured I'd never find a way to focus its energy, but as you can see...*He reaches into the rubble and grabs Soulka, throwing him over his shoulder* I'm full of surprises.

Hesh: Why you, drop him now!

*Hesh charges Vector, but as soon as he gets half way a ship comes crashing in stopping between the two. Vector quickly jumps inside and launches before Hesh has a chance to catch him. Hesh begins to focus light into his kunai and throws a set, sticking them into the ship. With the strings of light he is pulled along with the ship and begins to climb aboard, but a mysterious razor boomerang comes flying in and cuts Hesh's light strings causing him to fall back down onto the hard steel floors. The husky quickly jumped to his feet and tried to give chase, but stopped at the hole in the wall when he realized the ship was long gone.*

Hesh: Soulka! *growls and hits the wall* damn it...I'll find you...

*Behind the husky Miles and his team had finally arrived. Miles stood there stunned by the words he just heard and stared at the husky.*

Miles: Hey...did you...just say...Soulka?

Hesh: *slowly turns around* ...I did...and you are?

Miles: My name is Miles...and I've been searching for my little brother...his name is Soulka...you know him?

Hesh: I know you've been looking, Soulka has been searching for a way to return...Miles you aren't from here either are you?

Miles: No...we're not. We were brought here by a strange fog. Soulka was taken and I followed him here...he has been looking for a way home huh? Ha sounds like Soulka to work himself hard for others...so...where is he?

Hesh: ...I'm sorry...he was just taken by Feral Force. They raided this base and took him hostage. It was Vector...leader of the crocodile army.

Miles: No...damn...I knew I should've pursued Vector. I might've been able to cut him off and stop him...

Hesh: Doubt it. He had a whole army with him. Four people would've had serious trouble taking him down.

Vance: He's right Miles. This place is totaled. Must have been a lot of enemies to do this much damage. We wouldn't have stood a chance.

Miles: *mumbles to himself* Maybe...but I could've tried...or been here for him...I failed him again...Soulka...

Vance: By the way...who are you? How do you know Miles' brother?

Hesh: ...my name is Hesh and I found your brother when he first arrived in this world. I've been trying to help him find a way to return home.

Kibou: He is telling the truth Miles. I met him with your brother in a town. They both helped liberate it from Feral Force.

Miles: Hm...alright...thanks for looking out for my brother.

Hesh: It's no problem...I'm sorry I failed to protect him, but I'm going after them. My kunai are still stuck in the ship. I can track them and find where they went.

Miles: Great then me and my team will follow you.

Hesh: Hm...it'll be dangerous...are you sure you want to...

Miles: No need to ask. He's my brother. Now that I know where he is, I won't let him go.

Hesh: Very well...let's go.

Kibou: Wait. Evan I'd like for you to stay and help me with something. The rest of you can go.

Evan: Um...but...

Miles: It's fine Evan. We'll be alright.

Evan: Without my brain? Hm...if you say so. Good luck guys.

Miles: Thanks

*Miles, Hesh, Kate, and Vance jumped through the hole and headed off to rescue Soulka with determination in their eyes.*

Miles: *Thought to himself* "Soulka...I'm coming...I won't fail you again...I promise little bro."
