It starts strange and unfamiliar, but later on it becomes clearer what's going on.

"Great job team! Hugs for EVERYONE!" I cried as I jumped into the group that was our junior soccer team. We had just won the finals in our region and age group. However, we couldn't have done it without...

"Aran! THAT KICK WAS AMAZING!" He had kicked the ball from GOAL TO GOAL in the last five seconds of the game, SAVING our "careers" and allowing us to move on to the nationals! We were jubilant at the prospect of the... not so athletic goalkeeper of our team making a goal across the field, a 1 in a MILLION chance.

Unfortunately, our opponents, The Phoenixs would not be coming back for a while. It was quite obvious that they were extremely disappointed, however our team was built on a quality of undying respect for our opponents that even though we did win, it only felt right to go and console them on their defeat. We did what we could, hugging and joking with them to help them feel better, our efforts were soon rewarded with smiles from all around.

It was with regret that we left the field, going our separate ways, and waiting for the next time we should meet each other, which shouldn't be for a year at least. They would have a long break before next season, so that should be plenty of time for them to practice and try again. As for us, it was time to meet our destiny at the nationals.

After the national obesity rate shot up, the Animalian Republic decided to declare that starting a sport early on at a young age would help to solve the problem. As a result, an open sports league for a much younger age group was created. It was extremely effective, obesity rates cut dramatically after it began, obesity rates dropped by over 3 quarters. In the year 2004 AD, the first official Junior league game was declared. Since then, over 50 teams were created and every year, there is a national sports conference. We were going to be going there.

I felt ecstatic at the fact that we actually made it to the finals, months of practice paid off in the few hours we had played. For the Vane City Salamanders, it would be the first time ever going to the finals, not bad for a team playing for the first time ever, right?

My dad walked over with some other dad's, all of which who were smiling. I'd always loved my dad, he was always supporting me and cheering me on and doing his best to encourage me to do what I wanted.

"Good work on the games boys, now lets go out for some dinner as a celebration, but first I think few someones might need a change." Said my Dad as he walked over with some other dads, all of which who were beaming. All the boys blushed at this prospect, no matter how amazing we were at playing soccer, we were still kits, cubs and pups. That's the only reason why we were allowed into this age category. As animals who had become like humans through adaptive convergence, we retained all our age properties. That meant we were more active and coordinated at a younger age, even though some parts of our bodies remained dysfunctional, just like humans, other parts were activated faster than humans. Our legs and arms for example were able to take more strain at a younger age, so we took advantage of that.

I was a 2 year old red fox kit, however don't let the word kit fool you, I had the intelligence of a typical 10 year old human who lived in a "first world country" and had the agility that humans cannot be compared to. I live in the city of Vane, AR, deep in the Amazon, where humans had dared not to explore yet.

I knew the change was inevitable, however rebellion of a small and agile group of youngsters against older, more agile parents meant that we would be put down immediately. But that still didn't stop us from having fun with our parents. So, we did the logical thing... RUN! Our dads caught wind of this and knew exactly what to do. Poor Daniel and David were caught the moment we ran, but the other 9 of us got away, reverting to all fours for speed, however our dads who were even faster than us, just used their two leg method of running to immediately apprehend us. After a few minutes of rolling on the ground and laughing, we got up, grass stained, but happy.

I stayed on the ground for a few minutes as my dad came back with a changing pad and diapers. He quickly changed me, not only into a new diaper, but also my clothes into more appropriate attire for going elsewhere.

"Alright kid, let's go get some food, you must be hungry right?"

"Yeah, where we goin' daddy?" I asked already knowing where

"A surprise, now lets get going." He replied knowing that I knew.

"Okay daddy." I replied taking his paw and using it to help myself get up.

"WHAT!?" I cried as his paw disintegrated in my hands, turning into sand and disappearing in my hands as if they never existed. I looked up to see that he too and the environment around me was disappearing quickly around me. I was soon lying on the ground in complete darkness.

I saw a light, and as quickly as my paws could move, I ran towards it. When I reached the end, I saw just whiteness, not light, but definitely not darkness.

"Hello? What's goin on? Help please? " I asked loudly, afraid of what was going to happen to me. I soon ended up in a fetal position, wondering what was going on. I was confused, scared and hopeful as to what could possibly be the cause of this.

"I-I don't wanna be here!" I cried out. This place felt oddly familiar, I couldn't put my paw on it, but I remembered this place from somewhere.

"Welcome back, I knew you were here somewhere Jacob." Said a familiar male voice.

"W-W-Who's there?" I soon found out by turning around and looking at a tall human in a white coat. The name Coeden, Joseph was on a plate clipped to it. 'Wait, how did I know what a human was?' I soon looked at myself and remembered. I was back here again, back in the dream world. My body was 13 years old, how did I know that? Coeden told me.

"Now Jacob, we're going to run some tests on you." As he said that, more humans in the same white coats walked into the room from the hallway. Grexton, Holly; Caris, John; York, Kane... the list of names continued until there were 12 of them filling the room. The moment the flow of humans in the room stopped, they all pulled out instruments that I could identify: blood needle, stethoscope, Sphygmomanometer... And then they struck.

"NO STOP IT WHAT'S GOING ON?! HELP ME!" I cried to Coeden.

"Jacob, you know perfectly well what is going on, you've been here for your whole life, don't tell me you don't have this down by now. Just relax and let them analyze you, it is very important you know." He replied calmly without a hint of pity.

His snake like eyes searched my exposed body as the people around me scratched, poked, pressed and prodded.

"NO, It can't be! STOP IT NOW!" I cried before I realized it was only the nightmares I kept on having.

"It's going to stop soon, it's going to stop, I'm going to wake up any moment, I'm really safe...." I whispered reassurances to myself.

I could feel myself begin to awaken, I could feel it. The environment around me began to slowly fade away.

"Remember Jacob, it's your choice to believe whether this is a dream or whether your other life is a dream. Keep that in mind." He said smiling maliciously.
