It All Started (Part 2)

The next day, all I could think of was the feeling of Cody's lips against mine even as I drove to school. The moment I parked my car, I grabbed my bag and practically ran towards the school, aching to see Cody and admire him like it was my job. Some people would probably say that the intensity of my sudden attraction for the husky was unhealthy, but I really had no way to explain how I felt, and yesterday's kiss really hadn't helped me at all.

I arrived inside the school, and I made my way to the cafeteria where students would wait for the bell to ring. Fortunately, I ended up getting there early, so I could only hope that Cody was the same way. My heart leaped in my chest when I did indeed spot Cody sitting at one of the tables in the cafeteria, and I hurried over to him. I set my bag on the floor and sat down next to him, but something seemed off about the husky. He seemed sad and guilty, as though he had done something wrong.

"Hey!" I said, trying to sound as cheerful as possible. "Nice to see you again!" I figured it was a bad time to be mentioning the kiss at the moment. I had no idea what effect it would have Cody.

"Hey..." He said softly. His head was on the table, resting on crossed arms so that he could stare out at the rest of the cafeteria. To be honest, he looked absolutely miserable, which was a major change from yesterday.

"Uh...what's wrong?" I asked curiously. Cody just sighed. "Nothing.." He said, obviously lying straight through his teeth. I narrowed my eyes and leaned my head down until it was right next to Cody's. "Cody, I'm going to tell you a little something about me. When my friends are feeling down, but are far too stubborn to admit it, I get rather stubborn myself. This is only going to end with you telling me what's wrong, so you might as well get it over with."

This seemed to get Cody thinking, and he sighed again, lifting his head up and looking at me with those guilty blue eyes. "I just..wanted to say that I'm sorry about yesterday..." He looked away again, seeming to huddle up to become a smaller target. "I shouldn't have just...assumed..but..I couldn't help it..." I could hardly believe what I was hearing. If anything, I felt just a little closer to perfection just from contact with him.

I stood up, and gestured for him to do the same. "Get up. We're going for a little walk, bud." Fortunately for me, Cody reluctantly stood and followed me as I led him down one of the halls that led away from the cafeteria. Once I was sure that we were out of sight of any of the students that were already in the cafeteria, I suddenly gripped Cody's arm and pushed him against a wall. Before he could react, I had him pinned by his arms, and my lips were once again pressing against his. It seemed like he had to take a moment to actually process what was going on, because after a small delay, I felt his arms struggling to move, and I lifted my paws off of them. Almost instantly, Cody's arms wound around my waist, and my paws gently gripped his shoulders.

If anyone had asked me what I felt like at that moment, I would've said that there were no words to describe just how amazing I felt. I would've sworn that for the few minutes that we stood there, I had died and gone to heaven, and my eternity was to spend every waking moment with Cody.

After what felt like an hour, our muzzles separated, and I gave a small smile. "Of all the people you could've chosen to kiss, I glad that you chose me," I said softly. This put a smile on Cody's face that was bigger than any smile that I had seen from him so far, and he kissed me again. "Maybe we should get back to the cafeteria," He said, chuckling softly. Slowly, I nodded, but I felt rather sluggish, as though kissing Cody had short circuited my brain. A few minutes later, when I had recovered most of my fine motor skills, we walked off towards the cafeteria, but one thing was different as we walked back. When we entered the cafeteria, I felt Cody grab hold of my paw, and my heart leaped in my chest. I looked over at the husky, and he gave me a wide smile and scooted a little closer to me so that our arms were pressed together. Of course, the students that saw us gave us very weird looks, but I honestly couldn't care less. As long as Cody was with me, I felt like I could deal with anyone, which might've seemed cliche to others, but it was true.

Finally, we sat down at the table we had been at before, but we keep our paws held together on top of the table even as more and more students poured into the school. As more students entered the school, we go more and more weird looks, and some of them were actually rather nasty, as though Cody and I were polluting the school with our presence, but I didn't care. All I cared about was talking to Cody, and we definitely spoke while we waited for the bell to ring. It was the happiest half an hour of my life. I had no idea why I was falling for a husky that I had met only yesterday. I suppose you could call it love at first sight, but whatever it was, it was amazing, and gave me a sense of excitement that I had never felt before.

Finally, however, our happy talk was interrupted by the ringing of the bell, and we both got up, letting our paws detach so that we could get our stuff up off the ground, but our paws instantly came together again as we began to walk.

"So what class do you have first?" I asked curiously, looking at the schedule that Cody was holding in his free paw.

He looked down at the schedule, and said, "Uh...Computer Science?" He said hesitantly, and I could almost immediately feel my eyes widen in absolute shock. "There is no way..." I said softly. He looked over at me, confused and worried. "W-What do you mean?" He asked, and I broke out into a wide smile. "That's my first block!" I exclaimed, and he laughed in relief. "Oh wow! That's actually really cool!" He said excitedly, his tail wagging gently.

I laughed as well, and I picked up my pace, pulling Cody along by his paw through the crowd of students that were walking to their classes. "Come on, I'll show you! It's a really cool class!" I exclaimed happily, and perhaps a bit over-energetically, as I continued to lead him down the hall towards our class.

Sorry for short posts, but I'm trying to write this in school ._. Hope you enjoy this part!
