#1 of A Long Forgotten Past

_I was sound asleep when a loud explosion jarred me into wakefulness. I looked around, finding myself, not in my room with Mitch beside me, but in a room on what looked like a ship. Oddly though, the room looked strangely familiar...

As I looked around, another explosion rocked the ship. Suddenly, the door burst open, and in ran a young eevee.

"Eievui, come on!" is exclaimed.

I immediately recognised the voice as Leafia, but she was like she was when I first met her.

She ran up to me and started tugging on my arm.

"L-Leafia, what's happening?" I asked, fearfuly.

"Pirates, we think, now c'mon! Mum and Dad need to see us!"

With that, Leafia yanked my off the bed and dragged me to the door.

I looked down at my arm, to find that instead of it's normal sleek, dusty-brown-with-gold-highlights colour, it was an even, warm chocolate brown.

As we walked onto (what I could only assume) the bridge, I saw two figures that were curiously familiar.

It looked like Blacky and Eifie, but these figures were on all fours and were smaller than them anyway.

Still, I called over to them, only to find, to my dismay, that two other eevees ran over to me.

"Yeah? What is it sis?"

Then there was a great flash of light, then there was nothing._

I bolted upright, waking Mitch beside me.

"Argg! You alright Chloe?" he asked, concerned.

I told him what I saw, and his face darkened.

"Hmm, if only we could talk to them, but we can't," he said

I thought about it for a minute.

"Wait a sec, we can talk to them, though," I said, enthusiastically.

"B-but how? They're all dead!"

"Not all of them,"

We went silent.

"Is there something you wanna tell me?" Mitch queried.

I glanced at the clock on my bedside table.

It read 12:54 a.m.

"It'll take until morning, you do realise?" I cautioned.

"Fine," he sighed, "In the morning then,"

He rolled over grumpily, and I couldn't help but have a small giggle.

"Aww, is big, bad Mitchey-witchey gwumpy-wumpy?" I teased.

He grunted.

"I know what'll get rid of Mitchey's gwumpies!"

I rolled him over and started tickling his stomach.

"C-C-Chloe! P-please s-stop! I-I-I s-surrender!" Mitch gasped in between giggles

"Is big, bad Mitchey-witchey's gwumpie wumpies gone now?" I teased again.

I then noticed all I was talking to was Mitch's snores.

I gave up and tried to make up for the lost sleep.

I woke up after what felt like five minutes to the sound of sizzling bacon, and the smell of fried sausages. I looked out the holographic window to see the sun shining. I groaned and got out of bed, heading for the kitchen.

I saw Mitch infront of the stove, with a frying pan full of popping bacon cooking on it. He had his back to me, so I snuck up to him.

"Ready for breakfast, honey?" he asked, without looking over his shoulder.

"Aww... how do you do that?" I sighed.

"It's called listening,"

When he didn't elaborate futher, I went over to help him serve up.

As we ate breakfast together, on the verandah of our house in the foothills of a mountain, we chatted.

"Hey, I know you're into space pictures, and I found this really cool one on the web," Mitch said.

My ears perked up.

"Really? Let's see it then," I said.

Mitch tapped a short command into the arm-computer that I got him for Christmas, and called up the picture onto a wall-to-wall holographic screen.

It was of a glorious red giant.

As soon as I saw it, however, a long forgotten memory resurfaced...

_A star near the end of it's life

The end of the world

Unimaginable things chasing after us_

I let out a scream of terror and ducked down, hiding my face with my hands.

Mitch looked round as soon as he heard me, and rushed over, knocking down several chairs on the way there.

"Chloe, what is it?" he asked.

I just shook my head.

"I don't know," I whispered, "I-I think it was like a flashback, or something,"

I got up, shakily, and hugged him.

A little confused, he hugged me back and gave me a comforting kiss on the cheek.

"Now, you ready for some training?" Mitch asked

"Sure," I replied, a little confused, seeing as he hated sparring with me.

Something among the lines of me beating him all the time.

We walked into our gym, and went over to the weapons rack. We didn't want to use our normal weapons because a) My firesword would probably set fire to the house, and b) we didn't want to accidentally hurt each other.

He selected a wooden longsword, similar to his own, while I took a pair of rattan sticks. We both went to opposite ends of the training mat. We bowed, and settled into our ready stances, Mitch with his wooden sword up in a guarding position, and me, with my rattan sticks hanging losely by my sides.

"Just to clarify," Mitch said, "No using powers, ok?"

"Aww..." I said, feigning disapointment.

He suddenly ran at me, covering the five meters in between us within a second, and slashed at me.

I brought my sticks up and blocked, sending jarring pains through both of our arms.

While he was distracted, I stepped back, and struck at him with a Punyo to the shoulder opposite to the one that Mitch was holding the sword with. I didn't really want it to be over so quickly...

He recovered, and jabbed at me, but at the last minute, feinting to the left, so my block was useless, and rapped one of my arms with his sword, causing me to drop one of the sticks.

With my arm stinging, I ducked and weaved with the grace of a weasel, elegantly dodging every one of his attacks. He surprised me then, when he brought his sword up and slashed downwards at me. I brought my remaining stick up, and feigned a block. As I saw him modify his strike to miss the stick, I lashed out and struck his knee, forcing him to abandon the attack and step back.

He rushed me again, and I had my back against the wall. When he was almost at me, I jumped up, flipping, planted my feet against the wall and pushed off, landing behind him. I placed both my hands around his face in the traditional style for breaking necks.

"Dead," I said.

I was on the ship again, when a shimmering portal opened, and a person stepped out of it. It was not unlike a Cerillian portal, but it was different somehow, as if it's purpose was different than to teleport someone across space. Then the figure grabbed me and pulled me in. There was a great flash of light, followed by a shout of "NO!", then, darkness.

I staggered backwards, dropping to the ground again, with that cry of "NO!" revertrebrating around my head.

"That's it!" Mitch exclaimed, "I'm getting Krystal!"

He teleported, presumably to the Great Fox, and was back within moments with Krystal, his sister, beside him.

"Chloe!" she exclaimed, rushing over to me.

I didn't respond.

"Chloe, I'm going to reach into your mind, ok?" she asked.

I still didn't respond, so she dived into my inner-most consciousness.

What she saw confused her.

She was looking at the same scene that had been playing over and over in my mind, ever since that dream that I had. She saw eight Eevees, an Umbreon and an Espeon. One of the eevees saw Krystal and ran over to her.

"Krystal!" it exclaimed, "You made it, then,"

"D-do I know you?" Krystal asked, even more confused, "You look familiar..."

"It's me! Chloe!" I replied, please that I was able to talk to someone who understood me.

"Eievui! Over here!" the Umbreon shouted.

I motioned for Krystal to follow me, and walked over to the group.

"Eievui?" Krystal whispered in my ear.

"Yeah, supposedly it's my name," I answered, "Do you recognise any of the other eevees?"

"Not rea- Wait a sec, that's not- It can't be-" Krystal spluttered.

"Yep! they're my family,"

Then, the thing that I had been dreading happened.

A portal opened and out stepped a mysterious figure, cloaked in shadow...

Then, mercifully, the dream ended, and I found myself lying on the ground of the gym, with Krystal kneeling beside me, her hand on my shoulder.

I got up, and walked unsteadilly to my favourite armchair in the lounge room.

"I know where I need to go now," I said to both Mitch and Krystal.

They both looked at me quizzically.

"I need to see Eifie,"

"B-but I thought your family were dead?"

"Almost, but not all of them. You see, Eifie didn't actually come with me, so she wasn't killed,"

Krystal nodded.

"I thought so. There were six other eevees at your first wedding, but only five went with you. We wondered what had happened to the other one..." Krystal said, "But how'll you find her?"

"Well, I thought that I'd just teleport to the Fleeing Eagle, and, well, she should be there,"

"I'm coming!" Mitch said.

"Me too!" Krystal agreed.

I just nodded.

Then, I concentrated hard on my room on the Fleeing Eagle, and on both Krystal and Mitch, and suddenly, we were there.

I reached out with my mind to see if Eifie was on the ship, and sure enough, she was.

I started running towards her, using knowledge of the ship that by no rights I should have, and we were on the bridge within minutes.

"Eifie?" I called out, tentatively.

A pink-furred head poked above the headrest of the captain's chair, then Eifie jumped out of it, and ran over to us.

"Chloe!" she squealed with delight, grabbing my arms, and spinning me around in circles.

"It's good to see you again!" I exclaimed, laughing with joy.

After about a minute of laughing and fooling around, we all sat down.

"So, what brings you all to my neck of the woods?" Eifie asked, gesturing to the spectacular view of a ring of icy comets shining in the blue light of a nearby supermassive blue star.

"Well, I have a couple of questions about your past," I replied.

"Really?" she asked as she leaned in closer.

"Did you, by any chance, know a person called Eievui?"

Eifie stiffened in shock.

"How do you know that name?" she hissed.

"Well," I started hesitantly, "It was in a dream. So, I assume you knew her?"

"She's my sister. You know that eevee that I said we lost on the way to this galaxy? That was her. She was a sweet little girl. Kinda like you, actually. A dream you say? I wonder..." she trailed off, looking at me curiously.

"Can you show me it?" she asked.

"I-I think so," I replied.

I reached out for her mind, like Krystal did, and at the same time, concentrating on the two dreams that I had.

I felt Eifie flinch, so I pulled back from her mind.

"Are you alright?" I asked nervously.

She looked up, with tears in her eyes.

"Y-y-y-you're-you're-you're-you're Eievui!" she gasped.

"WHAT!" Mitch and Krystal exclaimed.

They both turned to me, only to find that I had collapsed again.

I was standing on the bridge of the Fleeing Eagle, watching the fragmented remains of Comoros vanish, replaced by the glowing streaks of light that was the result of hyperspace travel...

I was in my room again, being woken by explosions...

I was standing with my parents, before being taken...

Then, I was laying on a soft, green meadow, as a fox instead of an eevee, and I saw the person who would soon be my mother for the next sixteen years...

I staggered upright, then there was a flash of light, then nothing,

_I was floating in a void

Then a voice piercing the darkness

"So you have figured out who you really are," it said

Then, a soft white glow started shining, and colour blossomed into the void

But I still couldn't see who was talking

"Do you wish to be changed back to an eevee?" the voice asked

I was silent

"You are confused. That is understandable. I pulled you into the time tunnel and caused you to be changed. I did it, because I knew what was in your future, and I had strove to prevent it. But in doing so, I caused it to happen,"

"What? W-who are you?"

"I AM DIALGA, MASTER OF TIME!" the mighty voice boomed.

"W-why did this happen to me?" I asked.

"Because you are the last chance for the universe,"_

Hey all! This is the first story in a new series, starring Chloe, and told from her point of view. It basically tells the story of her forgotten past. Let's just say it's a bit confusing to be writing a story from someone's point of view, when you've written stories about them in the third person. I literally had to go through my whole story and take out all the Chloe did this's and Chloe did that's. Chloe and Eifie are copyrighted to me, ChloeTheFirefox (Firefox1234) and Mitch is copyrighted to SPAMZZKRR.

NOTE: This is going to be a NO-YIFF series, so if you don't like that sort of thing, get the hell over it, and read something else!
