Dr. Kaajiv

Dr. Kaajiv, this is how people used to call me... before the incident... I was a biology teacher in a university. My students and my colleagues liked me, and I liked them in return. My real passion in life was my scorpions. They were like my children. All those little mouths to feed; when they were happy, I was happy.
All of my 63 scorpions had a name : Alduin, Ssardale, Vidoc [...] and the one I like the most : Queen. Queen was the biggest one I had. She was so friendly. I didn't have to keep her in a box when I had to clean up her nest. She was wonderful. I could spend the whole day staring at her; she was beautiful.
You might find this silly, but I do whisper to each one of them, like a parent whispering to a child. Queen was special; it was like if she could understand me. She was looking at me every time I was whispering to her.
One day, I was cleaning the nest of my little scorpions. I left Queen out of her nest, on the worktable, like I always do. It was like if she was observing each of my actions. And, suddenly, she stung me. It did hurt, but I didn't feel angry. It was strange, Queen never stung me before. My hand did hurt, but I knew that the pain will pass in a few hours.
"Evil little Queen, don't hurt Papa like that."
I smile and put her back in her nest.
"Or will I?"
Did... Did I just hear a voice? Who said that? I was looking everywhere.
"Did you just lose something?"
"Oh, it's you."
It was Dr. Vandarso, a chemistry teacher. I didn't even hear him coming into the lab. He's so sneaky sometimes.
"Do you want a lift tonight?" He asked.
"I might, unless Dr. Volkiel want to take a drink tonight."
"Okay, well, I still got some results to enter into the database, so I'll get back in like an hour." He said.
"Take your time. If I'm not here, don't wait for me."
"Sure, see you later." He said before getting out of the lab.
Now back to the scorpions. My hand hurts a lot. Anyway, I put Queen back in her nest. Then I start feeling a bit strange. Fever... I need a glass of water. One. A second one. Another. I don't feel alright. Now my whole body hurts. Pain. I need to sit down. Was this related to the venom? Queen's venom shouldn't do more than hurting me a bit. Oh my head hurts now. What's happening? Dizzy. Everything around look a bit... Blurred...
I try to get up, walk a bit. I can hardly stay on my feet. My whole body hurt, a lot. My hand... my hand changed tone! It darkened! Necrosis? No... my skin is getting pretty hard... What's happening. Arg, more pain. I look at my hand, the darken tone is spreading on my arm!
I tried to call for help, but no one answered. I start to feel very weak. I.. I don't feel my arm anymore! Quick... Get my cellphone... But where it it? On the table. I tried to reach the cellphone on the table. I... I couldn't... My legs failed me. I feel so weak... I felt on the floor. My whole body hurts. The darken tone was like fire spreading through my body.
My arm... my arm... I there was something happening to my hand. Like something was ramping inside of it. I couldn't do more than watch... helpless. My arm... it was moving by itself. What's happening? I... I don't know... And then, it started to grow in size. There was "something" inside. I can see it! Something was growing inside my arm. I could feel a great pain; I wasn't able to move a bit.
The thing growing inside, it was reaching my hand. Something pointed was pushing against the palm, and then it pierced it. A mix of blood and veins was flowing out or my hand. The smell... it smelled like rotten meat. And then the "thing" inside pushed again and my whole arm broke and fell on the ground, to let place to the biggest pincer I've seen in my whole life. That thing was attached to my body! No... What's happening? The pain... it stopped. I couldn't feel my body anymore.
My other arm had a similar "thing" growing inside of it. It grows... it grows... and it pierced the palm of my other arm, letting the blood pouring on the ground. My other arm broke to let another giant pincer take its place. Those giant pincers were moving by themselves.
Suddenly, I did see blood flowing from my back. Was there something here too? I'm scared, I'm very scared. I couldn't call for help, I wasn't able to move my lips. All I could hear was the clipping from the giant pincers... and broken bones in my back. Definitely something was there. I couldn't move. and then something pierced through my ribs... What are those... Legs? Those are legs! And they're lifting my body, or I should say what remains of it.
Something was moving behind me, something tall. I could see it with the shadow. It was moving around, uncontrollable. And then suddenly I see it, I see what it is. A giant tail with a sting hit the desk in front of me. I... I don't understand...
No... Why do this happen... I see... darkness... stars... and nothing...
"Kaajiv? Kaajiv? Hello? Are you alright?"
My head hurts a lot. Where am I?
"Get up you lazy. You shouldn't drink like that again!"
It was Volkiel, why is he there? Where am I? I'm... I'm home?
"What happened?"
"You don't remember? We were taking a drink after work and you tried to show who's the man between us 2. That was a bad idea man." He said.
Was it just a nightmare after all? My head hurts a lot. I shouldn't challenge anyone like that again.
