Chapter 3

"Shit" Cosmo swore under his breath as he saw the female from earlier walking slowly towards him with a reproachful look on her face.

"I found your little one crawling around near the streets, you know it's dangerous for him to be out here like that, He seems like such an angel though, and he looks like one too." The timber wolf said stroking his wings. Cosmo absolutely hated his wings and the fact that someone was touching them was just too much. He barked at the timber wolf causing a hurt look to appear on her face.

"COSMO!" Said Lou sharply as she stared him in the eyes with motherly fury, immediately silencing him and forcing him to turn away in fear. "I think you will apologize to Mary immediately and when we get back you will think about what you have done today, causing me so much grief."

"I'm sorry Mary." He whispered looking down out of shame and fear.

"It's okay little one," Mary replied looking at him sympathetically , "I'm sure you couldn't help it."

"Well, It's been a pleasure seeing you again Mary. Hope see you soon." Said Lou as she took Cosmo from Mary's arms.

"You and I need to have a talk mister." She said as she walked with Cosmo back towards the direction of the house.

Cosmo knew for a fact he was screwed, dead, done for, he decided to make one last struggle and try to run away, Lou, however would have none of that from him and smacked him hard on his seat, if it were not for the diaper's padding, He would have been crying out of pain.

"Stop, you're in enough trouble as is." She said in a quiet voice.

When they got back into the house, She brought Cosmo back into his room, seated him on the ground and engaged a puppy proof lock high up on the door effectively preventing someone as short as Cosmo from escaping the room.

When Lou turned around, she came back to a submissive puppy with his ears drawn back and tail between his legs. When she looked into his eyes her gaze softened, she only saw confusion and fear of a type that she had never seen before. This made her realize that she was too hard on him for his first few moments with her, as this was proven when she slowly approached him, he backed into the corner with his lower lip quivering, shaking all over and looking about ready to cry when he realized that the wall behind him was not going to give in.

"Please," He begged,"I don't want to be here.... don't do this to me..." He continued entreating her to release him. "I.... can't...." He managed to choke out before bursting into tears, the stress of the past day reminding him of his twisted childhood, of constantly living in fear, wondering what pain is to come next. He then broke into pitiful tears, so pitiful that even Lou, a strong disciplinarian, had to stop herself in her tracks and question herself, Was discipline what he really needed? She decided rather that he needed some love in his life, as the only thing that she knew about him after he had been dropped off was that he was a "brat with some language and social issues and needed a new life". However, the little submissive puppy on the ground didn't match that description at all.

"I'm sorry if I scared you puppy, you just caused me to worry a lot of about you, I think there might have been some miscommunication between me and your agent." She said pulling him into a hug, in which he did not struggle, most likely because he was exhausted from the events of the day so far or else he would have ran terrified.

"I-I-I'm s-so s-s-sorry." He sniffed, "I-I-I just thought y-you were going to do horrible things to m-me."

"Oh! I wouldn't do horrible things to you, is that something you would like to talk about?"

"Y-Yes." He continued to sob into her shoulder fur until he felt better.

"Okay, I need to change your diaper again because it's full. Can you stay calm for me while I do that?" She asked him.

Cosmo just nodded his head too preoccupied to even fight. His mind was attempting to process the information he received, how this female didn't beat him and abuse him as he expected her to, but instead hugged him and given him something that he had never felt before, tolerance and love.

Lou did her part to make Cosmo feel least violated changing his diaper. She quickly and efficiently cleaned him up while whispering reassuring remarks to him. She thought ahead for her and his benefit to dress Cosmo back into the sleeper with the mittens on to keep him out of trouble.

"Wait you said I had a wet diaper?!" Yelped a very confused Cosmo, as he didn't remember releasing his bladder at any time during the incident. "You mean I wet myself? I didn't feel myself letting go!"

"Yes you did little one, puppies like you always do that, you're still growing and developing and it's my job to make sure you grow and develop correctly."

Cosmo just stared into space weakly, the impact of what she said driving home.

"Now, we need to have a talk Cosmo, you seem to be very hurt inside," She said pointing to his chest. "I could see it in your eyes when I looked at you, and seeing you hurt makes me feel your pain too. I'll be your mommy until you can become strong and be yourself again, I'm sure your mommy and daddy love and care about you as much as I do, It would hurt them just as much as it hurts me to see you like this." She finished sadly.

As soon as Lou had mentioned the words mommy and daddy, Cosmo broke out into tears all over again remembering what other people would call his "childhood" and his non-existent parents.

"Oh! Did I say something wrong again?" She asked pulling him close like a mother does to a child.

"I umm..." Cosmo's head dropped, "... never had any parents...."

"Oh?! I'm sorry, I'm sure you do kid, what happened."

"No, I was born in a lab, I was 'raised' by scientists," He said pointing to his wings, "I was tossed out when they found my genes couldn't support these wings. I'm a failure." He finished, hanging his head.

"Nope, not even, as long as you're with me, I'll show you that there's a meaning to life more than just feeling down all the time and thinking you're a failure. Now, lets give you back your childhood that was taken from you." Said Lou picking him up.

"This wasn't um... what I had in my mind." Protested Cosmo pointing to his waist with a mittened hand.

"Hush now, puppies can't make decisions for themselves, now lets go get you fed, I think you might be a little hungry from all that drama this morning." She finished, sealing his fate and carrying the now silent puppy down the stairs.
