((Note: For the sake of expediency, as well as my now-overwhelming need for sleep, I skipped an entire 3 stories. They will be posted as a new story series only if enough people want to read it. Enjoy!))

Mimi had gotten in to awful fight just before leaving his parents house. Mimi personally couldn't remember what the quarrel was about in the first place, or how it started. She kind of remembered that Mimi was getting annoyed with Sol killing everyone that tried to place a paw on her. Mimi had taken lives herself but not at the excessive amounts that her mate did. The fight seemed kind of pointless but it had gotten her mad enough to leave. Mimi had returned to the Highlands to find Time, than she went back to Diadem. Nothing eventful happened but Mimi spent more time hunting for food because she didn't make enough to buy anything. Mimi managed to do some tournaments and some low lever pit fighting to make some extra cash here and there, however she had to retire shortly afterwards mainly because the hosts of the tournaments made her.

When the remaining months passed and Mimi had given birth to the cubs. However she found herself outside of the City. The only thing she remembered was a horrible pain and anger. Mimi had entered a Fury mode but it was only out of a sudden panic. Luckily for the cubs it didn't last long and Mimi didn't attack anything but she did have a barking fit at a few of the residents in Diadem. She gathered the cubs and brought them back home were they would safe. She felt that they weren't safe out in the open. Mimi had three healthy cubs on her paws. One female and two male. She was kind on hoping Sol would happen to stumble by but she never saw him. After a week had passed she had assumed Sol had forgotten about her and moved on with another fur. Mimi didn't care leave the cubs alone unless she had two. When she went hunting she did leave the cubs but she had Time to watch them. She never left for long. The cubs had were showing their color now. The two males had their fathers fur and eyes while the female had blue fur and yellow eyes like Mimi. She was happy one of them resembled her in some way at least. Her job now was to keep them healthy, safe, and happy. However the Cubs safety wouldn't last long.

When the cubs were two weeks old they were a little more active but they did a lot of sleeping. Mimi was worried at some point of they were sleeping too much or not getting enough. Later that Night when Mimi got over the silly worries and fell asleep with the cubs grouped up next to her. Mimi's ears twitched as she heard something. It sounded like it was near the front door but they were light paw steps not footsteps. Mimi thought it was Sol but surely her mate would sneak in like this. She placed the cubs in a pile of stuffed animals by her bed giving each one a quick lick on the ear to keep them quiet. Mimi took her bo staff and waited for the intruder to attack. She was deathly frighten, it was dark, and who knew what horrid creature were sniffing around her house. Mimi stiffened waiting for something to happen. A second later the door was kicked open. Mimi quickly jumped out of bed, it looked like a ferret anthro was attacking but she wasn't sure. It was to dark to make out the details. She swing her staff in a circle motion. She saw the ferret pull out something that looked like a gun. She growled and leapt at the ferret swing her staff at him. There was a flash and Mimi feel to the ground and stumbled on fours as if she were drunk. There was a whimper from one of the cubs and Mimi lost it. She growled and regained her vision for a second and looked at the ferret holding one of them. "Get your filthy paws off them!" She sneered then it was followed by a mindless, enraged, barking. She dashed for the ferret and pulled him down to the ground using his tail. She was no longer aware of what she was doing, all she knew was that if it moved, she would kill it. The two were clawing at each other but soon another came, then another. A Wolf and Rabbit had joined the Ferret. Mimi was losing this fight quickly.

Time was hiding under the bed no sure if he should jump in. He decided to do what something and took one of the cubs and bolted out of the room before anyone saw him, placing the cub in one of his amazing hiding spots, which inside the couch. Time had to admit he did rip some holes underneath here every now and then. Once he was sure no one was watching he would go back and get the next one.

The Rabbit quickly kicked out Mimi's knees. There was a crack and Mimi fell to the ground no longer able to walk. "Grab the cubs and lets get out of here!" He muttered looking at the enraged vixen. Making sure that she didn't get up again. She rolled around trying to get up but then nothing. Mimi stopped moving.

It had been months since he'd seen Mimi last. Now, as he looked down on her, Fury taken complete control. And he knew the cubs were hers, or his, whichever. A snarl built in his throat. With a leap, he flew down and landed behind the wolf just as he turned. He came nose-to-nose with an enraged male fox. His eyes were piercing crystal, cold as ice, and he wore a trench-coat-like crimson jacket with black jeans underneath. The wind made the jacket swell behind him, like a cape. But the aura around him was anything but a pose. With a faint growl, Sol grabbed the wolf by the throat and lifted him into the air. Then he gathered the two cubs in his free arm. Then he turned and threw the wolf through the air and into the side of a building. Walking past the ferret, who stood stunned for the moment, he crouched beside Mimi, casting a healing spell on her. Mentally. Laying the cubs, a puffy little blue furball with gold eyes and long ears and a puffy medium furball with ice eyes and short ears, next to her, he stood and turned slowly. "Which one of you..." He said, his voice dark and hard. "shot my mate?" His eyes flashed to the ferret, who still had the gun in hand. His eyes flashed with minute amusement. "9MM carbon-tipped slug with an exit speed of 42 times the speed of sound. Try a 75mm titanium-tipped slug with an exit speed of 18 times the speed of sound and an exit wound the size of your skull." As he spoke he drew his Ornate Black Magnum, bringing it level with the ferret's skull. "I killed your kind months ago. Seems you never learn, do you?" And he fired.

However, the wolf wasn't down, and as he blew the ferret's brains out the wolf lept forward. The rabbit seemed to have made tracks. Sol grunted as the wolf flung himself into him. He rolled with the momentum and flung him hard through Mimi's door. It splintered as the hulk hurdled through. Sol followed the wolf through and slammed him against the wall above the couch. Leaning in very close, he hissed, "You mess with my mate or my cubs again, I'll kill you." The wolf showed defiance by trying to slam his foot into Sol's legs. Only to realize sol wasn't touching the ground. That killed his defiance immediatly. He left the same way he entered. Flying. Sol padded through the door, only to face the Rabbit.

It wasn't strong, but it was fast and lithe. Sol could barely keep up with the agile thing, and was on the defensive for the first minute or so. Punch, block, dash, leap, kick, leap, kick, on and on. Then he went on the offensive. A pulse of aura knocked the rabbit unstable, slowing it down, and it was soon plowed down by a hard right. It flew through the air and thudded to the ground. Sol stood tall for a moment, then turned and padded to Mimi, kneeling beside her and the cubs. He smoothed the cubs' ruffled fur and then lifted them into his arms. Holding them comfortably in one arm, he pulled Mimi slowly up. "Miss me?" He asked, a smile on his muzzle.

Mimi let out yelp and her ears lopped miserably at first, she quickly used her front paws to over her head. Mimi didn't recognize Sol at the moment; she was terrified that the attackers were going to continue on until she was nothing more than a bloody pulp. She didn't even register a kind voice at that moment. Well the furs that attacked her didn't give her much o a chance; it was a one on one fight that became a three of one before she had a chance to do anything, even her Fury failed on her. After a couple of seconds she was trying to figure out what happened. She was expecting someone to rip her muzzle off by now. Mimi blinked that took her paws off her head, but he still looked spooked about the events.

Time made sure the cub couldn't get away. These little guys were a pain in the rear tail and one second they were innocent and the next they were trying to destroy his food bowl and the last thing he needed was for something bad to happen to this one. He wasn't going to take any chances even if this other voice sounded like a friend. He quietly crawled out from under the couch to see what was happening. It was quiet right now but he felt Mimi was scared and that couldn't be good. So far it sounded like the intruders were gone and it looked like they weren't around. He nodded and crawled back under the couch.

Mimi looked at her mate and her ears picked up slightly but then they lopped again. She felt that he might take the cub so that he cubs watch after them. They could live off Sol now with some difficulties but if Sol wanted them this would be the time to take them off her paws. Even if Sol might be here to take the cubs she was glad to see him. However he wouldn't be welcomed if here was here to take the cubs because Mimi wasn't going to hand them over without a fight. "Yea..." she muttered trying to sound cheerful but the pain of being beaten overpowered her happiness. She glanced at the cubs one, two.... There's they third...? she thought weakly glancing around the room. "Sol, where's the third cub..." She said in a slight panic sitting up straight. "Where is he?!" She said sounding terrified. Well Mimi was only rushing to conclusions by now, well was she spots to act calmly about this?

Sol smiled as she counted, then the smile faded. "Third? I only rescued two..." He reached out with his awareness, searching, probing... He felt time with another, smaller awareness. Then again most other awarenesses were small compared to a 500+ year-old cat. But this was tiny. "Uhh......... Under the couch, with time. Male, I think. Is the missing one a male?" He bit back on his own rising panic. Panicing would do nothing right now. Besides, once he probed the awareness, he was pretty sure that it was the missing cub. Walking over to the couch, he reached carefully in. "Time, you burn me and I'll follow through with those 'promises' I made when we first met." Finding the soft cub, he coaxed it close enough to pick up, then did so. Lifting him, he studied it. Gold fur, long ears, crystal eyes. Took after him in every way. Appearance-wise, anyway. Sol smiled fondly, no doubt in his mind. He had a family now. He paused for only a second to think on the word. Family. He almost couldn't believe it. Almost. Nuzzling the fluff ball, apparently against his will, he smiled. It's attitude certainly took after the mother. Letting the little thing dose off in his arms, he padded over to Mimi and kneeled down. "Beautifull..." He murmered, shaking his head and smiling at the same time. He lifted Mimi gently to her feet, holding her close. "I can't believe something so beautiful has me for a father." He joked. "I mean, lookit me. Dirty fur, old jacket, torn pants, and a scarred muzzle!" He was, in fact, completely kidding. His fur was so clean it glowed slightly in the night, the jacket was brand new, and so were his pants. And his muzzle was unblemished. He grinned and licked Mimi's cheek. "Mind if I stay for a little while? I sorta came on the four winds, and didn't bring much in the way of cash with me." He frowned, a thought striking him.

"Unless... Unless you'd rather I leave...?" he questioned, suddenly unsure. Sure, he wanted to stay with his cubs. What father wouldn't? Aside from his, that is. But this was HER house, and she HAD taken care of the cubs and herself up until now. Though barely, if appearances were anything to go by. He felt bad for staying away for so long, and wondered if she would ever forgive him. He'd said some pretty stupid things, and... Well, the thought of being seperated from her or the cubs tore at him. He chewed the inside of his cheek, wondering what she would say. Would she reject him? He probably deserved it. Would she forgive him? He would prefer it. He somehow managed to loose himself in his son's fur. His son's....... He blinked. 'Not gonna get used to that any time soon.' He thought.

Mimi let out a sigh of relief that all three were still safe, Mimi would have raised hell if one of them had gone missing. She quickly picked up the other two cubs and placed them on the bed so they didn't have to deal with being carried around after the hectic events. That and they could hear quiet whimpers which probably meant they were getting grumpy after the recent events. The last thing Mimi wanted was for him to start crying because it would take hours for them to stop. "Yea, you can stay." She said more focused of getting these two tucked in at the moment. A quick nuzzle seemed to calm them down. Mimi watched for a second making sure that nothing was wrong. She would fetch for the other cub once Sol was finished. Mimi ears relaxed, she had her paws full with the cubs and the sudden attack didn't help lighten her lode.

Mimi looked over to her mate "I was thinking about heading back to the Highlands in a month or two when the cubs were strong enough to handle being outside. Since they were raising them here I thought that they wouldn't be ready for a sudden change quiet yet." She said quietly not sure of Sol was going to stay with her again. This could have been a visit and nothing more. "I know your not very fond of the city life so if you planed on heading out soon it's ok." Mimi said and quickly looked back to the other two cubs then back to Sol. "So... what have you been up to...? Well guess what happened while you were gone I guess..." She said slightly hesitant. She wanted to know what her mate had been doing in the past couple of months but she didn't know if it was ok to ask. Were they even mates now, they did go there separate ways and Sol might want to keep it that way. He probably found another fur by now... She told herself.

Meanwhile the attack wasn't over yet, even if Sol had taken down three there were still more, many more. Waiting just outside the house for their chance to swipe away the cubs. Slowly another made its way towards the front door and slipped a small black box and bolted off. Time crawled out of the couch and looked at the box wondering who had left it. He blinked seeing a small symbol of a cat with a crown. "Mimi! Find cover!" Time yelped with a panic and scurried over to Mimi's room but during his progress the box exploded, flames engulfed the living room and kitchen. When the vanished in a matter of seconds there was nothing left of the area that had been hit.

~Really far away~

Hazel had kept his muzzle shut about Mimi for a while but when one fox found out the word started to spread slowly for the past months. However soon word would reach Razor who wouldn't be very pleased about the news. "HAZEL!!!!" roared a voice Hazel let out a sigh and made his way to Razors Den, the Silver fox with white tipped tail, paws, and ears looked like he wasn't in a good mood. "What did you do while you were with my daughter?"

Hazel nodded "W-well" He took a deep breath. "I trained your daughter like you requested. I taught her Star Skip and Ritual Star" Hazel took a second to calm down. Razor seemed to be worried that Mimi had learned so little. "Well I can explain for her slow progress... and well..." Hazel thought about it for a second.

Razor coughed trying to get Hazel to hurry.

Hazel jumped back slightly "Sir, your daughter is err... pregnant or was I guess" He smiled sheepishly.

Razor growled and seemed to look like he was about to raise hell "So those roamers are true then ?!" Razor vanished and appeared behind Hazel and shoved him to the ground. Other foxes gathered somewhat curious about Razors uproar. "You're telling me that her slow progress was because you spent time trying to get some cuddle with my daughter! Now you better tell me what was going on in your mind before I decide to kill you..." He snarled baring his teeth.

Hazel whimpered, he was more afraid of Razor then Sol's family. "I didn't place a paw on her... her mate wouldn't let me..." He yelped as Razor forced Hazel to his paws.

Razor nodded "Well, I guess I'm ok with that... but... I honestly didn't expect her to find one so quickly. Who's the brat that placed their paws on my daughter then? What had you learned about him?"

Hazel nodded feeling that he wasn't in that much trouble. "His names Solaris he is a fox also, his father's name is Sparda, I haven't had time to get his mother's name." He noticed Razor seemed to recognize Spardas name but he didn't say anything so Hazel continued. "Solaris seems to have a deformity of his ears with are oddly long almost like a rabbit." He winced when he saw Razor didn't quiet approve of that. "hmmm... He seems very strong however so his deformity doesn't seem to flow him down at all. He took at two Weasels that attacked while I was there but these were loners from the look of it. They didn't seem to be one of the Kamaitachi." Razor seemed to lighten up a bit he still didn't seem happy about Sol's ears. "I think Sparda has a God on his said, He called it a Maia." Hazel nodded and continued on "It looks like Mimi will be having the cubs in two months or less. Solaris isn't t be messed with, even the Royal Cats would approve of him."

Razor nodded "I will approve of Solaris myself. If he doesn't meet to my standers I'll chase him off. Gather the foxes to the main hollow, will be leaving for Aria." Hazel nodded and left hazels hollow and quickly spread the word of the meeting.

The moment Time had spoke up Sol had spun. He saw the black box begin to discentigrate, and had reacted by creating a shield of golden energy around them, sealing them from the blast. He let the shield drop as the danger of the blast receded. Anger swelled in his very being as the three cubs began wailing. Setting the one he was holding down, he said, "Time, Mimi, protect the cubs. Keep them hidden, out of sight, if at all possible." His eyes sharpened, growing golden around the pupil. He ran out of the house, skidding to a stop and looking around. Surrounded by about 5 wolves and a panther. The panther would be a problem. Biting his lip, Sol drew his sword. He looked around, eyeing his opponents. A wolf lept first, followed by a smaller wolf. Both were cut down before they got close enough to attack. Stepping away from the sprays of blood, Sol lept forward and roundhouse-kicked another wolf. He crumpled on the spot, out cold. 3 down. The fox lept back, landing on a wolf's head. A hard kick knocked him to the ground. A wolf and a Panther were all that were left. Sol hadn't seen a panther before, much less one in it's peak physical condition. This thing was a monster, huge, strong, and lethal. But it was also altogether stupid. It did only as it was told by it's master, and apparently it had been told to attack anything that attacked them. It lept forward, striking Sol hard in the chest. He felt his flesh shred, felt his blood flow across his fur. He lept back, clutching his chest. The panther didn't pause to admire it's bloody handiwork. It lept in again, crossing the first gashes with another set, creating a ragged, bloody X. Sol shuddered, then lept over the panther. To the panther, he'd just dissappeared. It looked around, confused, then turned.

Sol had still not gone into his SS equivilant of Mimi's Rage. He had, though he didn't remember it, trained himself to better control Second Sun. He had to be really ticked to release control now. However, that didn't help him here, now. The panther had finally found him, and it was back on it's bloody rampage. It had thrown him through a wall and had him pinned a little ways away from where Mimi and the cubs were. "Like HELL!" He growled, heaving upwards, throwing the hulking beast off him. "Sorry Mimi" He appologized, before throwing himself against the beast. This sent them through the wall once again, and into the wolf. Sol lifted his sword above his head and drove it through the panther's chest, subsequiently driving it through the wolf's neck. Both died on the spot. Sol stood and stumbled back. "Healing rays." he muttered, and his wounds closed and dissappeared without a trace. He sighed and leaned against the remains of the front half of the house. "Son of a..." He sighed, then yelped in surprise as the wall he was leaning against gave out, leaving him on his back amidst rubble. "I HATE Those people......." He grumbled, picking himself up.

He padded over to Mimi, Time and the cubs. He sent out a soothing Aura to the crying cubs in an attempt to ease their frayed nerves. He looked at Mimi. "You Ok?" He asked, concerned she'd been hurt during the fight.

Mimi seemed to be shaken up slightly, well she had just watched half her house turn into a pile of ashes. She had been with the cubs standing beside then protective and Time did the same but something seemed to be going through his head at the same time. His focus wasn't on the cubs exactly. Once the fighting was over Mimi looked up to Sol, her ears lopped. It was clear she wasn't happy. "My house... it's gone" She muttered, all that heard work to earn this roof over her head, gone. Many times stepping into the fighting ring, risking her life, and taking others. It was all a lost cause now... Where would the cubs sleep because she wasn't about to let them sleep here in a dismantled house. Her ears picked up as she heard parts of the remaining hall collapse.

She gathers the cubs wrapping them in a blanket "I'm going to see if I can find an Inn or something... You can come along if you want..." She said her ears seemed to lop. She wasn't sure if she was even back together with Sol so she didn't want to depend on him too much. They did go there separate ways after all. She gave one them a quick Nuzzle because she heard a quiet whimper then padded off, well there wasn't any door left.

Time let out a sigh "How did they find us... this isn't any good..." She muttered and looked over to Sol "Get Mimi out of the city, take her anywhere but here. There are more and the city is full of there kind by now." He said and went off in the direction of the Highlands. He needed to warn Mimi's parents about the danger and that the Royal cats were making there first move.

"Hold on a second." Sol growled, stepping in front of Time and placing a hand on his blade. "Mind telling me exactly WHAT THE HELL is going on here? I'm sick of being left in the dark, and I'm not ABOUT to walk off and get attacked by god-knows-how-many soldiers just because I love Mimi! I would do anything for her, but I'd rather know exactly WHAT'S trying to kill me!" His eyes flickered, giving away only a trace of the concern that lay underneath his anger. He was concerned. Why would they be targeting Mimi? First it was that assassin wolf, if he remembered right, then it was those damned weasels, now it was a whole fracking ARMY! He knew they were soldiers simply by the way they worked together. Rag-tag bandits tended to bicker in movements as well as words, and companions were fluid in their co-ordination. Soldiers, however, were stiff, knowing where to be but not liking it at all. Their love of battle, not to mention the small marks on each soldier's shoulder of a cat wearing a crown, told him they were working together.

Sol blinked, then gasped in pain as his chest began to burn. "Wha-... What the hell?!" He gasped as the X wound that he'd healed began to burn. He knew it wasn't there anymore. He'd healed it. But....

"Poison!" He grunted, leaning against a crumbling wall. Glaring at Time, he hissed, "You owe me answers, cat. Go warn whoever you were going to warn, but if you don't fill me in eventually, you'll find I'll be MUCH harder to deal with." Then he delved inside himself. Dealing with poison was different from healing a wound. It required he go into a coma-like state, then search out the strands of Poison RNA that created it. Then all he had to do was break it down into safe compounds. The major problem was actually finding it.

~The Edge of Town~

The pale-gold-furred vixen sighed as she walked through the outer streets of diadem. It was so boring around here! The only exciting things that seemed to happen was a few thieves, and that was all quiet. Not much for a mercenary to do in these parts. With a disgruntled sigh, a snow-white cat leapt from the ground and planted herself on the vixen's head. Looking up, Celestia said, "Uhm.....Snow..... What are you doing up there?"

"My feet are tired." She replied with a shrug. Celestia smiled wickedly and tilted her head back. With a "MRRROOOW!" of surprise, Snow found herself deposited right back onto the pavement. Picking herself up, she glared icy daggers and mewed, "You'll pay for that one!"

Celestia laughed. "Oh, will I? I, who controls when you eat and when you rest?"

Snow gulped and clamped her mouth shut.

Celestia looked up from her feline friend to see Mimi holding three cubs. Smiling, she waved, not really noticing the glum atmosphere. "Mimi! It's me, Celestia! Sol's sister! It's been a while!" She padded up and fell in beside her. "So, how's my numbskull brother?"

Mimi had little concern for Sol at the moment and she was long gone from her house... or what use to be her house. She had to worry about cubs at the moment, not her mate, and she guessed he would have left her double quick once things have settled down a bit. Her ears pick up as she heard the familiar voice. She looked from her cubs to Celestia. At least it was a friendly face this time and Celestia could be trusted, hopefully. However her ears lopped when she asked about how her brother, Sol, was doing. "... uh..." she wasn't sure what to say. She hadn't been with Sol for the past few months. "He's been ok I guess. We haven't been together for a while, he just appeared out of no were today and..." She paused more or less frightened about the image of her house being obliterated. Who ever wanted her dead had taken the game up so many levels. She looked to the ground then continued on. "Someone destroyed my house... I'm not sure what happened to Sol. I left right away so I could find the cubs a safe place to hide.

Time decided to warn Mimi before he left for the highlands. He knew all too well Mimi was mince meat without Sol. The guard would finish with her before she had a chance to react because he was sure the city had been polluted with the guarded by now. Once he had caught up with Mimi he paused to catch his breath. "Mimi... Sol... There's something wrong with him but I'm not sure. You better fetch him before a couple of ferrets turn him into dinner for the crows... You should hide, more are coming..." He said quickly however the last bit he said harshly then bolted off, running faster than Mimi had ever seen Time run.

Mimi blinked in slight confusion as she watched Time leave then she looked over to Celestia. "Maybe we should find Sol..." She muttered somewhat nervous. After what Time had said he felt she as being watched for some off reason. Her ears picked up slightly as she heard something, paw steps, 5 pairs at the found of things. "They're coming..." She whimpered.

In total there were 6 ready to attack. The quickly made their way for Mimi. Two wolves, a rabbit, and three Squirrels. All with the same branding on their ears. One of the Squirrels took the lead "Give it up and hand over the cubs! Your mate will be dead soon and your to match for are army." The Squirrel talked with confidence because at that moment another group of 6 was going to finish off Sol.

Celestia blinked, staring at the squirrel. "I'm sorry..." She said, blinking again. "I seem to have missed something. You want my brother's mate to give up her cubs to you.... While I'M standing HERE... In front of you....." She laughed, and Snow quickly caught it like a disease. Then, wiping her eyes, Celestia drew the Katana from her back. "You see, you seem to have missed something, little one. Not only our... Powerful bloodline." She didn't mention their Mayan ancestry for obvious reasons. "But the fact that blood watches blood, and Mimi's blood in my book." She sighed, watching Snow weave a complex web of spider-web-thin ice into armor and sword-like claw extensions. "You've threatened my family. I'm afraid I can't allow that to go unpunished...

~Sol~

Sol felt the presences as they came within a football-field. A wolf, two squirrels, and three rabbits, armed to their buck teeth in assassin's weapons. 'Just great. Damn poison.' He thought as he searched out the protein sequence that made it up. He felt it, like it was brushing his fingertips, and then..... He smiled widely as he quickly tore down the poison. A work of ten minutes, fifteen at most. Not his best record. He quickly passed back to the land of the living, just in time to see the wolf sneering down at him. With a sudden quickness not natural even for Sol, he pushed up off the ground. A metallic his of steel on steel, and a knife extended from a wristband under his jacket sleeve. With lethal skill rivaling any assassin's, he jammed the knife into the wolf's neck. He gurgled for about a second, and then went limp, falling to the ground as Sol withdrew the hidden knife. It quietly returned to its sheath, ready to be used again later.

Sol didn't give the squirrels a snowball's chance in hell. Drawing two throwing knives from holsters on his back, he threw them with lethal accuracy, striking them in the chests. They fell without a sound, pierced through the heart. The rabbits had enough time to launch a knife each before they, too, were dead. Sol stood in the middle of the dead, not a drop of blood on him. "Mimi..." He whispered, and ran.

~Cele~

Celestia parried the wolf's blade. The bugger was good, she'd give him that. He'd already drawn blood from her shoulder, arm, stomach and chest, and they'd only started fighting 10 minutes ago. The others were either frozen or dead from the knife-like claws Snow had made. Now it was 2 on 2. Wolves against a fox and a cat. Cele leapt aside as the wolf's blade crashed down. He grunted as he tried to draw it from the ground. Celestia smiled and whispered, "Shoulda used a lighter blade, honey." before hitting him hard at the base of the skull. He was out before he hit the ground. Cele turned just in time to see Snow freeze the other wolf.

Tsk-Tsking, Cele touched the wound on her chest. It started right near the collar bone and went on for about an inch at a down-left 45 degree angle. It cut the collar of her white shirt, which was ruined anyway by the shallow cut to her stomach, but it was nothing fatal. Maybe an inconvenience, but nothing big.

Mimi didn't lift a paw, she just watched fearing if she left the cubs they would be taken away from her. However this noise of fighting didn't go un-noticed by the cubs. Well the two males were wide awake now however the blue furred cub was still asleep. They let out yips of excitement as they tried to squeeze out of Mimi's arms to join the fighting. They thought it was a game, still too young to understand what was actually happening. To a cub everything is a game. Mimi was able to keep them in her arms but it was difficult. "No..." she whispered to the cubs softly trying to tell them that this wasn't a game but that message wasn't coming along well for the cubs. She looked over to Cele "Thanks, we should kind Sol maybe." She muttered her ears lopped slightly.

~Time~

Time had reached the highlands by now, he had been running as fast as he could without killing himself but he did run down a deer while he had been running. Well it was hard to stop a fireball. He came to a stop in front of Mimi's parent's house... Something didn't smell right. Ferrets...? She asked himself he he heard something inside fall to the floor and shatter. Probably a glass cup. Time quickly scurried to a window to see what was happening. The racket in the house continued. "The Guard is attacking them already..." She whimpered as she scurried around the house and found an entrance point. The kitchen Window was slightly open. She got inside and saw that the floors were stained in blood. "This can't be good..."He padded across the counter to get a better view of the living room. What he saw was something he had expected, but he didn't expect for this to happen for a while.

Two foxes lied on the ground together dead. Mimi's 'Parents'. Along with a cub probably no older than a couple of months who lied motionless at the other end of the room. He saw a Ferret watching over them , a couple of seconds passed before there was a horrid screaming down the hall. Probably Cou, Time only watched quietly as he saw that his guess was correct. A Wolf Dragged a limp fox and placed it beside Kaz and Altec. "They will be in for a treat, this is everyone, right?" The Wolf just nodded and the two left without a word. Time waited a minute before he went to inspect the damage.

Once he confirmed they were dead he left the house as well. There was nothing left to say. He had failed to Warn Mimi's parents. He left through the kitchen once more. "Time...?" Something or someone whimpered. Time turned around and noticed the voice was coming from the trash can. Well surely the trashcan couldn't talk."Come out it's safe." Time muttered. A fox crawled out of the trashcan. It was Nick, Cou's son. "Where's my Mom..." He muttered.

Time looked to the ground "Let's get going, it's not safe here." He made his way back to the city with Nick following closely.

Cele smiled and nodded, running a hand which hadn't been bloodied through a little one's hair. "Finding Sol would be a good idea at this..." She got no farther as Snow squeaked. Then she gasped, "This is bad... Bad bad bad bad BAD!" Then she tore off, ignoring Celestia's order to stop.

"What was with her?" Cele wondered aloud. She stretched out her consciousness, feeling, probing, following Snow, until.... "Oh..." That was all she could say. She refused to meet Mimi's gaze, instead opting to slip an idea into her head that she should go to the nearby Merchant's house and tell him she was a friend of Cele's. Then she took off, grabbing Sol and dragging him along with her.

By they time they reached Mimi's parent's house, Snow had cleaned it. The blood was gone, and the bodies as well. The glass stood repaired on the table. Nobody was inside or out. Walking out back, they found 4 freshly-dug graves with a thin layer of snow on top. An ice tombstone read, "This stands as a monument, defying order. Innocent lives taken in hatred of another. This monument stands for you." Celestia had no doubt that this patch of snow would be here year-round. Sol bit his lip.

"They took her house, now they took her family." He wanted to curse. During the month they'd been apart, he'd taken refuge at this very house for a week. Taught the little cub some magic so he wouldn't get impatient with him. And now they were dead. Sol wanted to destroy every inch of the highlands, if it meant destroying the ones who did this. But he didn't. Instead, he turned and said, "Snow'll be with Time. They're probably on their way back." Then he disappeared, his teleportation taking him right to where Time was.

"You made a nice run, Time." Sol said, hoisting the cub in the air. "Get some rest. Celestia's on her way with some food."

Snow pressed her flank against Time. "They'll pay." Was all she said. Then she and Sol disappeared, homing in on Mimi's life force.

~Celestia~

Cele had taken a slow run as opposed to the instant transport Sol had used. She arrived about three minutes after Sol had left. Sighing, she sat down and pulled a sandwich from the pouch at her waist. She pulled a specially-made cat-snack out too, and offered it to Time.

~Sol~

Sol appeared feeling almost, but not quite, like a different person. He knew he would have to tell Mimi. That was the hard part. He didn't want to cause her any more pain. He sighed, then looked up at Mimi. The cub on his shoulder, who was covered in blood, shifted his weight in his sleep. How had he fallen asleep in the 2 seconds the teleportation had taken? 'I guess I'll never know.' He thought grimly.

Mimi blinked but at the moment she didn't trust anyone, now even the merchant she was recommended to go to. Even if Cele said it was a friend; it could be a trap. The merchant might try to kill her like those anthro's did. When Cele had gone Mimi didn't go to the Merchant, she went in the opposite direction instead. She was hoping Sol might be around. She didn't know that Sol wasn't in the city at the moment. After a Minute passed another attack party had formed. This one was a group of 4, It seemed Mimi was along so they didn't want to waist there furs. This group combined of A rabbit, Wolf, Ferret, and Raccoon.

Mimi blinked seeing a rabbit in front of her. She quickly turned around and took a different path. Only to run into a raccoon and the rabbit she had seen before. She let out a yip and scurried off. Turning a corner she ran into a Wolf and the Raccoon and Rabbit were beside it. Her ears lopped as she took a couple of paw steps back "I'm sorry..." She whimpered and turned around but there was a Ferret right in front of her. It held some sort of injection and smirked. Mimi let out a gasp and turned around running right back into the wolf ho grabbed her before she could run away again. "Please leave me alone... Please..." She whimpered her grip on the cubs tightened. Where was Sol, Cele, that cat pet thing of Cele, and even Time. Was this a trap? "No one's left hun. Give up" The Ferret snickered.

Mimi Blinked her ears lopped. Did this mean Sol was dead also. Mimi felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder. "We don't want you to get angry lovely." Mimi blinked in a matter of seconds she left everything going numb "You won't be able to move for 10 minutes and in 15 seconds you will be unable to hold anything, in 30 you would have lost all motion" Mimi knew it was game over now but she wasn't letting go of the cubs until she couldn't hold on to them anymore.

The Raccoon nodded and gestured to the Rabbit and Wolf to take a cub when "You guys take one, I'll take one as well, will go in different directions and meet up at home" He said clearly. 15 seconds passed and Mimi dropped the cubs. The Rabbit, Wolf, and Raccoon took the cubs "Ferret, try to distract them for as long as possible. Use Mimi as bait if you have to." The Raccoon said and then they all went there different ways. Mimi stumbled and fell to the ground. Where did everyone go?

~Time~

He took the cat snack without question "Thanks, he should hurry..." He muttered quickly eating the snack. He Finished quickly and continued down the dirt part. His ear's lopped quickly, he had a bad feeling "Mimi's in trouble... or the cubs are at least."

~Mimi and Ferret~

The ferret smirked and looked up at Sol he gestured to Mimi "Looking for that, also I recommend you that you don't go off killing me. If I die she will to." He lied but hopefully it would get him some time for the others to get away.

Sol's anger immediately flared. But he held it carefully in check as he probed for proof of the lie. "Where are the cubs?" He growled, eyes flashing dangerously. Finding no connection between the ferret and Mimi, he spread out his awareness, looking for a sniper in the vicinity. Nothing showed up. Sighing, he said, "The only thing I hate worse than a liar," The hidden knife slid from its sheath, still hidden by his hand. "Is a kidnapper. I hope you've atoned for your sins." He moved fluidly forward, ramming the blade between the ferret's ribs. He stepped back, and then looked at Mimi. "Celestia and Time are on their way. Tell them what happened. Cele'll know what to do. Have Time stay with you. You need to be protected now more than ever." He grinned wryly. "They won't like having so many of their operatives taken out." Then he turned and leapt lightly to a nearby roof.

A quick testing of the air told him exactly where the wolf had gone. He leapt again, cutting the distance easily. Once more, and again, and he was there. He landed and skidded to a halt. He saw the blue-furred female in one arm, obviously scared. "I'll give you a chance to put down the cub. One chance. If you don't, I will use force. And you will not like it at all. You could say it would be a life-ending experience." He wasn't one for joking when something precious was on the line, and this wasn't any different.

~Snow~

Snow had known what to do the moment she had scented the raccoon and rabbit. The raccoon would be Cele's, and she would take the rabbit. Which she did with relish. A chance to get back at them for the deaths of innocent furs. But she had noticed something. A key DNA sequence in the mother hadn't matched with Mimi, which meant she wasn't actually the mother. If that were true, where were the real parents? But just as Snow thought that, she came upon the rabbit. White furred. "What an insult to the color." She hissed, and then she leapt, icy claws already formed...

~Cele~

Celestia ran beside Time, occasionally offering another snack so that his fire wouldn't go out, both proverbially and literally. How had Mimi ended up with such a fireball, anyway? And a lazy one, at that! But he moved when it mattered, and that was enough. But something else puzzled her. When she'd seen the images of the bodies in her mind, through Snow, she'd found no family resemblance. At least, not between Mimi and her mother. Snow had seemed fixated on the exact same thing. Why, if they were related, did they not appear so? And if not related, why hide it? Adoption wasn't a bad thing. But something hadn't felt right. Shaking her head, she slowed down, until she was standing in front of Mimi. "Oh, god! What happened?!" She quickly lifted Mimi into a sitting position.

~Mimi~

There only seemed to be a dead gaze in her eyes, she had felt a intense wave of depression strike her down when those anthros had taken her cubs and she couldn't even fight back. She could feel anger barking to come out but depression seemed to be the stronger of the two. She felt like she had failed at the moment. Her job was to keep her cubs happy, healthy, and most importantly safe. She couldn't even do that and in result she lost them to some greedy furs. She glanced at Cele for a second then looked back down to the ground. At the moments one of her worst fears had been realized. A mother that lost her cubs. Even if Sol was going to get them back that happened if he failed like she had.

~Wolf~

The Wolf just glared at Sol, did this guy truly think he was just another push over. He wasn't going to hand over the cub His mission was to bring them back and he would die to satisfy his 'King'. Years of training would now be put to the test. He pointed his paw at Sol. "I'm not giving up..." She sneered his ears flattened back. "Gust Blast!" next a harsh gust of rind blasted from his paw going at least 700 Mph. Cutting down anything that got in it's way and hopefully it would cut Sol down also.

~Rabbit~

The rabbit jumped back seeing the attacking cat. "Ritual star!" He gasped as a glowing star appeared in front of her. It was the same defense ability Mimi had been taught. The rabbit thought about it and remembered that fire was stronger than ice and it seemed the cat's first move was an ice type move. "Inferno!" she called out keeping a tight grip on the cub in her other paw as a blast of fire butsted from the center of the star shield.

~Raccoon~

The Raccoon blinked and felt his comrades were already being attacked. He placed his paws together "Copycat" Another Raccoon appeared beside him looking the same and holding the same Gold fur cub with short ears, however this one was a fake. "Go back and wait, try to distract them..." He muttered and get onto one of the boats that was going to be departing any second. "I hope they make it back home..." He muttered and placed the cub in a small bag keeping it hidden from everyone. He watched as his copy left the docks and back deep into the city.
