Danny felt something nudging against his head and he suddenly woke up. He saw it was his mother.

"Hey Danny sweetie, how you feeling?" She asked.

"I feel a bit better. Not completely, but a bit.."

"That's good. Now come on and wake up. We have an appointment with Dr. Canes down on Woofers S.T. I'm sure you remember that place."

"Oh yeah.." Danny said. "The same exact place I get my shots..." He said shuddering.

"Now hurry and get changed. We leave in 30 minutes."

"Okay mom." Danny said as we swiftly got up and went over to get a pair of fresh clothes.

As Danny started changing he started thinking. "Should I tell Jake how I'm feeling?" He said to him self. "No.... It'll only make him worry. I'll just tell him later on."

Danny went over to the bathroom and brushed his light white cream fur. His mother then called.

"Come on Danny! We're going to be late if we don't hurry. We wanna hurry to beat traffic!"

"Coming Mom!" Danny said.

Danny swiftly put his brush down and made sure he had everything he needed. He then went downstairs and through the door toward the car.

What felt like a 30 minute drive, felt like forever. They made it on time, but just a tiny but late. "Bah." Danny's mom said. "5 Minutes late..."

"If you mom didn't flip off that driver, we would have been earlier... He said to him self in a mumble.

Danny's mother parked in front of the building. It was a big building with endless windows that went in a pattern vertically. It was pretty huge and looked like it only had 6 floors. Danny and his Mom got out of the car and walked toward the large building. They were greeted by a nurse and went towards their location for the appointment.

As they walked into their room, Danny noticed it was pretty empty. "Hmm... Seems it's pretty slow on school days in the office.." He said to himself.

Danny saw a T.V with the news and quickly walked over to one of the chairs to watch the news. While Danny was busy with the news, his mom was checking in for their appointment. Danny sat down and saw that the only 'news' on was the weather forecast. He quickly got bored and decided to read a magazine. As he read the magazine, he noticed the nurses were chattering. It sounded faint, so he decided to get closer to hear them.

"Did you hear the news?" One of the nurses said. "What?" The other nurse asked. "I heard on the news, 2 gay teenagers were brutally murdered. They say that because they were 'Showing too much affection in public', some crazy guy killed them. I mean.. how insane is that?!?"

"I'm not sure.." The other nurse said. "I don't really go for being 'gay', but I feel bad for those 2 boys...."

As the nurses continued to chatter, Danny was on the edge of seat. Terrified.

"2 boys were murdered??? Because they were gay?? But... I'm gay..." Danny was too terrified, lost in his own thoughts.

"No.. I doubt that would happen to me... I'll be fine..." Danny wanted to believe those words, but he didn't have the courage to believe even him self. Just as he continued thinking, a nurse called for them.

"Daniel Kane?" The nurse asked.

"Oh, that's us!" Danny's mom said. "Come on Danny."

She helped Danny up and followed the nurse toward the room. The nurse was pretty tall, she looked like a fox. She had pretty ocean blue eyes and a soothing, angelic voice.

"Hi there Danny." She said greeting him.

"Hello there." He replied.

"My name is Amy, and I'll be your nurse until Dr. Cane can check up on you. Is that okay with you?"

"Yeah, thanks Amy."

"Now if you'll follow me please."

Danny followed Amy and did the usual. She checked his blood pressure, measured his weight, checked his weight, and all of those sort of things. After that was done, Amy told them that the doctor would be here soon to talk to us and check what's going on. We replied 'Okay, thank you.' and Amy replied with a warm 'You're welcome'.

They waited and waited what seemed like forever. Then suddenly, Danny felt his phone vibrate so he took it out and checked.

"Oh? A text from Jake." Danny opened up his phone and read the message Jake had sent him.

'Hey Danny, everything alright? I'm a bit worried and I just wanted to make sure. Hope you reply back and hope you feel better!'

-Jake.

Danny read the message and thought to him self, "Could he really care about me?" Danny didn't want to deny it any longer so he decided to text Jake back.

'Yeah Jake, everything's fine. Thanks for caring! I'm just at the doctors right now. Want to hang out later when school's over for you?' Danny finished his text and sent it.

A few minutes later, he received a reply from Jake.

'Sure! I'll just have to finish Basketball practice first though... Want me to tell your coach you won't be able to attend soccer practice today?'

'Yeah, that would be nice, thanks!'

'No problem!'

Just as Danny was about to reply, he saw the door open and Dr. Cane was entering the room.

Danny then texted to Jake quickly.

'Well I have to go. Doctors here. Catch you later!' He sent the message and quickly put his phone into his pocket.

"Hello Danny" Dr. Cane said. His voice sounded way deeper and clearer than the last time they met.

"Hi Dr. Cane." Danny said as he and his mother shook his paw.

"My, My, you have seemed to have grown a lot since before! You playing any sports?"

"Actually yes! I'm playing on a soccer team at my highschool. The coach is thinking of promoting me to team captain!" Danny said excitingly.

"Great to hear! Now since we're here, what seems to be the problem.?"

"Well, ever since a few days ago, I've been having an awful lot of headaches. They get worse and worse each time..." Danny explained and Dr. Cane just sat there listening and writing down what Danny was saying.

"Well Danny. It seems to be stress. Normally, headaches wouldn't occur that much. Since you say you've had it frequently, it's probably stress. You mind if I check your heart?"

"Yeah, go ahead." Danny quickly replied and took of his short. Revealing his athletic, but not too bulky body.

Dr. Cane set his cold hands on Danny's back and started to hear his heart. A tingling went through Danny's body when the doctor touched him.

"Breathe In.... Breathe out" Dr. Cane said, and Danny did as he was told.

After a while of that, the doctor came to a conclusion.

"Like I said earlier, it might be stress. But, just to be here. I want you to get some blood test done and meet me back here in 3 weeks."

"Needles?!?" Danny thought in his head. "No... Not needles again!"

"Is that alright with you Danny?"

"Yeah, that seems fine."

"Okay, well it was nice having you both here." Dr. Cane said as he shook him and his mothers paws. "Make sure to set an appointment again with me with Amy down at the office. Bye Danny, take care."

"Okay Dr. Cane, will do. Bye!"

Danny and his mother walked out of the room and went straight toward the office. Danny sat down on one of the lounge chairs waiting for his mother to schedule another appointment with Dr. Cane. As Danny was waiting, he started thinking about him and Jake. "Would it ever work out?" He thought to himself. Danny wished he had courage to tell Jake. But he was too scared to do so. Danny just tried to keep cool and tried to stop thinking about it.

"Okay Danny, let's go."

"Okay Mom. Coming."

Danny and his mother exited the building and went toward the car. They opened the doors, buckled up, and left the doctors.

"Hey Danny? Do you mind if we stop by the store to pick up some milk really fast?"

"But I wanted to hang out with Jake..." He said to himself.

Danny checked his watch and it read '5:00'.

"Practice already ended for him.... Man... Oh well.. I'll just text him later.." He said to himself.

"So.. Is it okay with you Danny?"

"Of course mom. I might want to get something there, too."

Danny's mom drove down the streets and went toward the store. When they reached the store, they went inside to get what they needed.

"Okay Danny, you can get what ever you want. Just meet me back here in 10 minutes."

"Okay Mom, will do."

His mom walked away swiftly toward the food aisle, but Danny walked toward the electronic department. There was nothing to his interest there, but it seemed really interesting. As he walked around, he noticed a familiar figure. He started walking toward the figure, and to his surprise, it was Jake.

"Hey Jake!"

The grey wolf turned around and saw Danny, he quickly waved and went over to him.

"Hey Danny! What are you doing here?"

"Oh nothing, my moms just picking up some stuff. I was going to ask you the same thing. What are you doing here?"

"Oh nothing. Just taking my girlfriend shopping to get something she's been begging for. Also, the coach let us off since he had an 'emergency' to attend."

"Girlfriend?..." Danny thought. "I knew it... Of course he was straight. I was too naive to not even think he might have had a girlfriend.."

"Oh that's nice. What's her name?" Danny asked.

"Samantha" Jake replied.

"What an ugly name..." Danny said to himself. He was angry, jealous, but most of all, devastated.

Before Danny could answer he had to go, he saw a short fox with long blonde hair walked toward their way.

"That's Samantha" Jake said.

"Hey Samantha! Come meet my friend Danny!" Jake said waving his paw at her.

Danny wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible, but it was too late for that.

"Hello there!" Samantha said with a smile.

"Hi." Danny said replying back with a smile.

"Hey Samantha this is my good friend, Danny."

"It's nice to meet you Danny." She said.

"Same to you Samantha."

"You know, Jake has talked a lot about you lately. You seem like a nice guy to hang out with."

"Oh really?" he said with a blush face of embarrassment.

"Yeah! About how you play soccer, how athletic you are, and a lot of other stuff!"

"Oh, that's cool." Though Danny felt like he was getting along with her, he still secretly despised her.

"Hey, I have to go now." Danny said. "I promised my mom I'd meet her back in 10 minutes and I'm sure it's been longer than 10 minutes. I don't want to worry her."

"Aww, that sucks." Jake said. "Well, I'll text you later!" He said while holding Samantha in his arm.

Danny wanted to sob and cry right in front of them. But he knew he had to stay strong.

Danny managed to smile and left swiftly. He wanted to cry so badly.. But he had to stay strong and be happy for Jake. As he walked down the store, he noticed his mother.

"Come on Danny! Did ya get anything?" His mom asked.

"No, I didn't feel like getting anything." Danny said sounding disappointed.

"Okay, well at least help me with the bags." Danny walked over to his mother and helped her carry the bags. They left the store and walked toward their car. Danny unloaded the bags into the car and they drove off. He checked his watch and it read '5:58'. Danny was sad, so he just sighed and put his head along the window of the car and looked at the beautiful sun going down as he rode back home.

Danny got home and immediately went straight to his room. He locked the door behind him and quickly fell on his bed and started sobbing. He knew the other wolf was straight. He was too busy fantasizing about him that he didn't pay attention to reality. Danny sobbed for at least an hour before it got out of his system. "I have to be happy for Jake... There are plenty of other fish in the sea..." Though Danny tried to cheer himself up, he knew his only true love was Jake. Oh how he would fantasize Jake and his beautiful muzzle. How he would imagine him shirtless, showing off his grey-creamish chest. He knew he was bulk, and that just turned him on even more. After a bit, he started feeling better, but he was still devastated. He was too sad for tomorrow. He got up and went to tell his mom he didn't want to go to school tomorrow. His mother agreed and asked him if he wanted soup. He replied 'No' and went back to his room in silence.....

As Danny lay in his bed, he tried hard to not think about Jake. He wanted him to be happy, but he wanted him to be happy with him.. Not Samantha.... Danny didn't even know what to do anymore. He didn't want to face Jake anymore since Samantha is there. He might as well avoid him he thought to himself. But since love was so strong, Danny had decided to try to cope with it and live with it. Oh how Danny hated love. He remembered how his mom used to tell him, "It is so easy to fall in love, but very difficult to fall out of love."

He felt so attached to Jake, he wanted to love him forever. But since this is reality, he'll have to deal with it.

Danny was still heart broken. But he lived with it. While he lay in bed, he started thinking of ways to deal with Jake when he saw him. His eyes got heavy and drowsy and he started to drift into sleep. The only thing he could remember was a loud *BANG* before he passed out....
