Matt and Trey, having evolved to JagerDorulumon and MetalGarurumon must face two Wargreymons and hundreds of Diaboromon, but things come to a stand still when one of their own is captured.

"Digital Drive"'

"Weregarurumon, Digivolve to...!" Matt felt his body grow cold as the clothing that had fashioned around his werewolf body evaporated in a cloud of mist. Metal cracked through the fur and formed on his muzzle and crawled along his back, forcing him to double over. His legs popped into place as he regained a more feral form. He felt a surge of energy flood his body as he himself became the embodiment of ice, he was no longer Weregarurumon, he was "MetalGarurumon!"

"Dorulumon, Digivolve to...!" Going the opposite way, Trey felt the sudden urge to leap to his hind legs, which he followed without question, the horns that adorned his back vanished and a long mane of hair cascaded from his scalp as the color of his fur became more solid. He crossed his muscular arms over his chest and watched as a flash of light produced a thick metal armor, a cape flashed onto his back as one arm extended a massive drill, while the other grew into a massive claw with a thick, almost squarish shield which he held out over his body. "JagerDorulumon!"

Blasts came in from all around the pair of warriors as they darted out of the way, quicker than the Diaboromon could keep up with; to Matt and Trey, the shots were coming in so slowly they were able to slip in between them, but they were covering a lot of area, and the ground underneath them was beginning to grow unstable. Matt looked down and could see bits of code leaking from the area on which they were standing. "Trey! We've got to move!" He shouted at the Jager. "Or we're going to go down with this place!"

"Right!" Trey exclaimed as he spun, then threw himself into the air, readying his shield as it deflected several of the energy bolts trying to destroy him. "White Spiral!" He cried out as the energy in the air began to gather into his shield before letting out a powerful blast of energy that struck the Diaboromon, throwing it back into the army behind him as they charged in. Sweeping his arm, Trey extended the width of the beam, sweeping across several of the viruses that were charging at them.

"Ice Wolf Bite!" The Metal Garurumon howled as he shot off several missiles, eradicating the remainder of the Diaboromon that had been attacking them. Both of them came to a landing on the ground and looked back to see the data corruption flicker and vanish, the risk of it being destroyed was gone that quickly.

"That was amazing!" Matt cheered, grinning under his metal mask. "I've never felt this kind of energy before!"

"Me either." Trey said. "Let's hope it's enough to save Mac!" The two of them turned and ran toward the village, the sounds of explosions could be heard clearly from there.

"Give it up!" Shadow growled, bringing his massive claws down on Mac, whose legs had buckled slightly under the strength of the other Mega. "You can't save this village! No one can!"

"You... will leave this place, Black Wargreymon! Or I will destroy you!" Mac said with a strain to his voice.

"No! It is you who will be defeated!" Another voice cried out as a sudden force slammed into Mac, hurtling him hard into the ground. The wolf rolled under the strength of the second Wargreymon that had interfered with the battle. As his shoulders rolled across the ground he gave a fierce kick to the Digimon's stomach, knocking him up into the air. Frost growled as he caught himself and came rather lightly down in between Mac and Shadow.

"W-What are you doing?" Mac said outraged. "Why did you attack me?"

"Because..." Frost said, opening his eyes to stare into the wolf's own. "He is my family."

Mac growled and took a step back, but sneered angrily. "So that's how it is? Betray your friends."

"He wouldn't forgive me if I continued along this path. And I would not forgive myself for that. I'm sorry Mac..." He struck an aggressive posture. "This is how it's got to be."

A sudden flash of light blurred in front of Frost, passing between him and Shadow, a second blur sped past the black Wargreymon, knocking the both of them back again. "So that's how it's got to be?" Matt said as he landed next to Mac.

"Then let's even up the odds a little." Trey said as the JagerDorulumon appeared on the other side of him. He put a hand on Mac's shoulder. "Are you alright?"

"I'll be fine, as soon as we put these two down." Mac said, his three tails swishing almost independently.

Turning around, the three of them saw the two Wargreymons flying at them. Mac leaped up into the air as the other two tried to sidestep their attackers, Frost took ahold of Trey and the two of them skyrocketed upwards. "Trey!" The two of them shouted at once.

"You two aren't done with me yet! Terra Destroyer!" Shadow had leaped several feet into the air and called forth the black sphere of energy that surged around him. Spinning in place he hurled the dark orb at Mac and Matt. Matt came in between the attack and the wolf, taking the blast, which shattered around him. "Ice Wolf Bite!" He shouted, firing several icy projectile missiles from his armor. The explosions shattered fields of dust around the Digimon as he sailed through the attack and tackled Shadow. Shadow came crashing down to the ground and kicked at the wolf now biting at his armor.

"Diaboromon! Attack!" He cried out, placing his fingers to the ground and sending black streaks along the earth to the forest just behind them, suddenly, what looked like a cloud had appeared and from that cloud poured dozens of Diaboromon, charging in for an attack.

"Blue Tornado!" Trey felt the spin kick in as the Wargreymon started his attack, an icy wind fluttered against the Jager's coat as they whirled around and around in a blurry, massive tornado. The spin was so fast that Trey could hardly breathe as the air was sucked from his lungs. He couldn't aim his spear with the spin, Frost was holding him from behind. He could feel the Wargreymon's muscles expanding, squeezing him to insure that he'd lose consciousness.

"W-White... Spiral!" He managed to call out, raising his shield and firing his beam directly into the tornado's spin. He watched the energy literally begin to spiral around them, the subsequent explosion hurling the two of them apart as the tornado broke. The wind made Trey's mane flow around his face as he fell toward the forest, reaching out an arm, he fell through the canopy of trees and caught himself on a branch but before he could lift himself up, Frost came crashing down in an explosion of leaves and branches, forcing the Digimon down to the forest floor and pinning him down.

"Why are you--doing this, Frost?"

"He is my brother, my family." Frost answered angrily. "If you found yourself opposing Mac and he asked you to join him, wouldn't you?"

"He's... not evil, and I don't think you are either. Stop this!"

Frost's gaze turned cold. "No."

Grappling his lance as hard as he could, Trey swiped his weapon across the Digimon's armor, causing the chest piece to lift. Frost jumped away before the spear could pierce his flesh, leaving a superficial wound instead of a gaping hole where it would have struck. Trey leaped to his feet and charged the other mega, slamming into him hard with his shoulder and knocking him back, Frost countered, wrapping his arm around Trey's waist and throwing him hard over his shoulder. Trey flew a good ten feet and struck a tree, which split with the force of the impact, the canid Digimon slid and fell to the ground as the tree lumbered and fell in two pieces behind him. By the time Trey got up, he saw Frost charging at him, both of his clawed arms out to the sides, he swiped his claw as Trey ducked under it, his ears fluttering in the breeze of the swing. Bringing his other claw around, Trey jumped into the air, putting his elbow on Frost's shoulder as he flipped over the Digimon's head.

"Black Nail!" Trey cried as he lunged forward, his spear illuminating in a black colored light. But Frost proved too quick and vanished just as the weapon struck the unbroken base of the tree. "Hey!" He shouted, his weapon no embedded in the trunk, he found he couldn't move it. "What in the--?" He was cut off by a fierce blow to his face as Frost came in from the side, then a powerful kick that made the Jager's feet lift off the ground. "AHH!" He cried out, coming down to a foot and one knee, he was unable to move without his weapon.

"You won't get away this time!" Frost roared, grabbing Trey by his horn and twisting him to face the mega his armor flashing in the light of a powerful attack. "Mega--!" He froze, looking around as though he'd heard something. Immediately he released Trey and silently took to flight, exiting the very hole he'd crashed through before.

"Mac..." Trey realized and finally managed to wrench the weapon free from its prison before running off into the forest in the direction of the village.

"You will not defeat me!" Shadow roared indignantly as he charged at Mac and Matt. "Great Tornado!" He spun into a whirlwind that shot through the crowd of Diaboromon and hit his enemies, throwing them apart. Mac hit the ground and rolled while Matt struck the ground on all fours, sending a long claw mark along the ground before coming to a stop.

It was almost hopeless for Mac and Matt to handle Shadow and the hordes of Diaboromon at his command, every time they would wipe out half a dozen, another dozen would appear. They just needed to work together to attack Shadow, the very heart of the waves. He ran forward, his metallic wings flipping out to the sides, causing the wolf to turn into a speed bullet. He stretched his claws for a powerful blow but was thrown off by the sound of another voice coming from overhead. "Frozen Force!"

Frost had called his powers and accumulated them into a massive orb like Shadow's Terra Destroyer, only using the cold air to concentrate it into a ball of frozen energy. He quickly called off his attack and swerved to avoid a direct impact by the blast, though the cold wind that whipped against him, he barely felt as Frost came to the ground next to his brother.

"Two against two, these odds have just gotten a little better, eh, brother?" Frost asked with a grin.

"Make that three against two!" Trey shouted as he ran up to join the others, all three facing the two Wargreymons across the distance of ten yards. "You guys are not going to get away with this."

"And how are you going to stop us? You've got an entire village to save!"

"What?" Matt asked as he watched the black Wargreymon throw his hands into the air sending off a dark spell that radiated around them. Immediately, the Diaboromon present sank into the ground and in little black streaks they retreated toward the village.

"It is a shame isn't it? Save the village, or fight us. Such a decision to make."

"What are we going to--"

"Go." Mac said, stepping forward and flexing as he clenched his fists. "Save the village, I will deal with these two."

"No way!" Trey said, concerned. "These are two mega leveled Digimon. You're not even one, now stop!"

"I can't deal with hundreds of Diaboromon any better." Mac said. "Go, and hurry back when you've got them on the run!"

They couldn't argue, Matt and Trey looked at each other, then both backed out of the fight. Shadow chuckled as he watched them go. "Fools." He said as he scoffed and turned to face Mac. "Though I'm not sure who is the bigger fool, them for going, or you for staying."

"We shall see." Mac said as he shifted into an attacking posture, ready to face the two Wargreymon standing before him.

The village was overrun by Diaboromon by the time Matt and Trey arrived. Black clouds of the virus covered the walls and rooftops of the houses like it wasn't even there, citizens could be heard inside their homes, screaming helplessly as the swarm was upon them. Immediately noticing the two incoming Digimon, echoes of "Web Wrecker" could be heard from every part of the great black crowd and hundreds of rapid fire bullets came blasting at them.

"How are we going to do this without destroying the village?" Trey asked.

"Very carefully." Matt answered. "Let's do it!"

The two of them avoided the bullets long enough to touch down on the ground, and they proceeded to roll and avoid the shots as they hid behind the buildings. Looking up, they could see the swarm coming over the rooftops at them, and Matt launched himself up into the air, as he came over the rooftop he set his sights on the virus on top of it. "Metal Wolf Snout!" He cried as lasers exploded from around his muzzle, blasting back at least twenty of the Diaboromon who then scattered from the attack.

"White Spiral!" Trey cried as he fired his shield weapon into the scattering crowd, causing dozens more of the virus to disintegrate.

"Metal Wolf Claw!" Matt howled as he brought forth a blast of freezing air that immediately topped the houses in front of him, he spun in the air, freezing dozens of Diaboromon in place. "Garuru Tomahawk!" He fired a missile from his chest that exploded and evaporated the attackers in front of him.

"White Spiral!" Trey finished off the rest of them. "This is going to take forever! They keep multiplying!" He exclaimed, watching the virus reappear in the cleared spots.

"Cable Crusher!" One of the singular Diaboromon cried out, trying to catch Matt in its grip, but he quickly swung out of the way.

"We've got to give it everything we have! Hit my missiles with your attack, the explosion of our energy together should nuke these creeps! Metal Wolf Claw!"

The sound of MetalGarurumon's hidden compartments of missiles snapping open was Trey's queue and he brought his shield upward. "White Spiral!" He cried out, firing his beam up into the cloud of rockets launching from Trey's body.

The explosion was massive, and filled the sky in a brilliant white light. Trey could feel the chill of the ice-ridden explosives as the light quickly expanded and eradicated hundreds of the Diaboromon attackers. As the explosion cleared, there were only about five or six remaining that survived the blast zone. They looked at each other and quickly dispersed, vanishing and retreating to whatever hole they had crawled out of. "Now, let's go help Mac!"

Suddenly there was a loud crash as Mac had fallen from the sky only a few yards from the others. "Mac!" Both Matt and Trey exclaimed as they ran toward him.

Mac stumbled as he got up, but barely moved two steps when he was suddenly swept off his feet by a returning Diaboromon, who immediately spirited the wolf off toward the forest.

"No!" Trey cried out as he started to run after them.

"Forget it!" Frost's voice said as he landed on a nearby rooftop. "Mac is our prisoner now, this fight may be over, but this battle is ours!"

"But don't worry kids." Shadow said as he appeared at the base of the same building. "We will fight again."

Instantly, the two of them jumped up into the air and vanished into the bright sunlight now coming down onto the village.

"Oh man." Matt said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Talk about famous last words... Trey?" He looked to see that Trey had vanished from where he'd been standing. "Oh no."

The forest seemed darker than usual as Trey ran through it. He could smell Mac's scent, he could never forget it, the harder he ran though, the more his eyes felt like they were burning. Soon, he was breathing through the sides of his teeth, he could feel trails of tears coming from his eyes. If he'd only been there with Mac, if he'd gotten to him sooner... the scent slowly faded until he spotted something familiar on the ground; he came to a stop and let out a sob of recognition, a tattered piece of Mac's clothing lay on the ground. He sniffled, he could barely smell the air but Mac's scent had completely vanished with the exception of his cloth. "No..." He said to himself as he fell to his knees. He put his hands over his eyes and he couldn't help it, he began to cry.

He wasn't sure how long he was crying, he barely even heard his name before Matt placed a hand on his shoulder. "Hey..." He said with a sad look in his eyes. "Don't worry, we'll find him."

"But... he's out there... alone." Trey said, trying to regain himself. "I'm the one responsible for him, and I let him down. I--I let him down!" He started crying again, and Matt pulled him into a hug, shushing him softly as he stroked his hair comfortingly.

"Don't worry, Trey." He said quietly. "No matter what, we're gonna find him. I promise you that."
