As Danny walked down the hallway, he tried to clear his mind. He just tried putting his thoughts some where else. He thought about soccer. How he would become team captain and lead his team to the championships. At that point, Danny felt better after clearing his thoughts. He knew that Jake probably isn't gay, but he was just happy to be his friend. If he and Jake were together, that would satisfy him enough.

Just to make sure, he went to the bathroom once more and washed his face to make sure he's fine. He then headed down the hallway and off to lunch.

Jake was waiting in line to receive lunch. He glanced around the room to check if Danny was around, but in disappointment to see he wasn't. He quickly grabbed his lunch and went outside. He sat in one of the tables far from anyone else and just ate there alone in silence.

"I should have known..." Jake thought.

Just then, a large shadow appeared behind him. Jake was too surprised to notice and thought it was a jock from the football team.

"Probably Eric trying to get at me again... I hate that stupid fox..." So instead of turning, he ignored it.

Just then, the figure spoke up.

"Erm... Want some company?" To Jake's amazement, he recognized that voice; it was Danny's.

"Oh, hey Danny! Sorry for ignoring you. Thought you were some jock or something..."

"It's cool man! Sorry for keeping you waiting." Danny said mumbling. "I just had some stuff I had to deal with.... but I feel better now."

"Oh, that's fine." Jake said. "Hope it isn't distracting you or anything.."

"Naw. No need to worry about me.... Anyways, how's your head doin'?

"Still ranting on about that?" Jake said in a playful manner. "It's fine Danny. That happened like, yesterday, nothing a little sleep wouldn't fix."

"Just wanted to make sure!.. Anyways, how were your classes?"

"Oh, they were fine. Everything went fine like a breeze."

"That's good to hear!" Danny said.

The boys continued to eat their lunch, laughing, and talking about how school was. Just then, Jake brought up a serious subject that made Danny freeze.

"Hey Danny?.." Jake said. "You have a crush on anyone?"

Danny stood there in silence... Not knowing what to say.

"Danny? You there?"

"Oh, yeah sorry."

"It's fine. Just ignore my question, it seemed kind of stupid to ask." Jake said. "Oh no it's fine! It's just... pretty hard to explain. That's all. But since you asked, I don't mind answering..."

"You sure? You don't have to if you don't want to." Jake said.

"It's fine. I won't explain it fully, but just partially. But anyways... I met this special person. And I guess I fell for that saying 'Love at first sight' and that special person made my heart skip a beat; I guess you could say. But.. I'm not sure if that special person likes me back.. I love them, but not sure if they feel the same way.... It's funny though... I never felt this kind of feeling until now. I've never experienced this and it made me feel so happy.. My mom used to tell me as a kid that "The strange thing about love is that it can be easy to fall in love, but difficult to fall out of love." If you know what I mean."

"I see what you mean. And I feel exactly the same way about this person.. I always think about them and can't kept them off my mind... But you know, love is love, right?"

"Yep." Danny replied.

Moments later, the bell for next class rang.

"Already?" Jake said in a disappointment.

"It's fine." Danny said.Oh by the way, here's my number just in case."

"Oh what for?" Jake said.

"In case we can't hangout or I need help with something."

"Did he just give me his number? Could this mean something?" Jake thought. "No, of course not. He just gave it to me for important reasons. Best not to jump to conclusions."

"Sure, thanks." Jake said.

"Anyways, want to meet after school again? If you like.."

"Sounds like a plan!" Jake said.

They both nodded and went straight to their next classes.

~After School~

It was after school and Jake just finished up his basketball practice. Since the coach let them off easily, he decided to go check on the soccer team to see if Danny was there. When he got to the field, he noticed Danny wasn't there. He went over to ask one of the teammates and they replied, "Nope. He said some stuff happened to him. I'm not sure..."

Jake gave a quick 'Thanks', and left. He decided to call Danny's phone. He waited a few moments and he didn't pick up. Jake started to get worried. "It's okay... He's probably fine. No need to worry about him."

Jake made sure to himself Danny was okay and went straight home. When he got him, he went straight to his room and did his homework. After an hour or so, he heard a 'Ring Ring' come from his phone and he swiftly picked it up. He checked who was calling and it was Danny! Jake quickly answered.

"Hello?" Danny said in a sniffle.

"Hey Danny!? What's going on? What happened"? Jake asked.

"Oh nothing. Just got into some trouble. I still need to clear my head. I didn't feel too well to go to practice so I just went straight home to bed. My mom thinks it's a fever so I might still home tomorrow. Sorry we couldn't meet up tho--"

Before Danny could finish his sentence, Jake spoke up. "No, it's fine. If you don't feel well, you should be resting. It's fine. We can meet up some other time when you feel better."

"But I really wanted to be together with you..." Danny said in a whisper.

"Huh? What was that Danny?" Jake said. He couldn't hear what he said.

"Oh, it's nothing!" Danny said. "My moms thinking of taking me to the doctors tomorrow and to church. She thinks 'God' can make me feel better. I guess I have to go so she doesn't have to worry about me."

"Alright! Hope you feel better soon." Jake said.

"Thanks!... Bye"

"Bye" Jake said.

Danny was there sitting in his bed thinking about the conversation.

"Did I really just say I wanted to be together with him?" He said to himself. "Thank god he didn't hear me say that... It was for the best anyways.."

"Well, might as well get some sleep. I'm sure a little sleep will cure it in no time and then I won't have to go to church..."

Danny didn't really like church. He never really loved in 'God or Jesus'. Only reason he went was because he was forced to go and his mom ranted him about how God made us all and how he loves us all.

"Does god really love everyone?" Danny thought. "In the bible it does state Homosexuality is wrong.. Does that mean I'm a sinner? Am I going to burn in hell?" Danny then shaked his head and slapped him self. "Of course not.. God or hell probably doesn't even exist.. I might as well enjoy life. God doesn't decide who I should love or not. I should..."

Though.. if his mom found out.. She would probably disown him and loathe him forever.. But he would take that chance.. for love...

"Maybe I should tell Jake how I truly feel... If I do, I can get some stress of my chest... Even if he rejects me or not, I'm still going to love him..." He decided to tell Jake how he truly felt.

If he was going to burn in hell for that, he might as well enjoy life. Because as his grandma used to tell him, "Life is about making things happen, not waiting for things TO happen."

He then cleared his mind, and drifted into a long sleep....
