#2 of Malakye's Story - Character Profiles & Back Stories

Righty-oh-then, in the build up to the launch of the first chapter of the sequel to the story 'A Place to Belong' I have decided to post a brief back story form some of the more important characters that appeared in the story, not only giving you a quick reminder of the major events that they played in the story, but also extending it into their lives before the story began.

I will be posting them in alphabetical order so of course the first character to be shown is the fierce Aceh. A dangerous tiger with the heart of a pussy cat. (Please God don't tell him I said that! He scares me....)

I also have a reference sheet for Aceh in my artwork gallery if anyone wants to see it!

SUMMARY/BACKGROUD

Pre-Story

Aceh was a member of the Amur clan, a famous Tiger Clan that was renown for its fighting prowess. From a young age Aceh was considered a prodigy when it came to martial arts. It was obvious that he was a clear choice for the next clan head out of his siblings. However when he was sixteen and due to wed a tigress from another clan, his father and fiancé died during an attack on his family home.

Blaming himself and full of anger and grief Aceh fled his home, not willing to join the cycle of violence that surrounded the tiger clans, he ran as far away as he could. During his travels he eventually met Eric, a travelling merchant, who hired him as a bodyguard. As the months turned into years Aceh felt he had finally found something he had lost when he ran away, someone he could trust, and so Eric became the first member of his new family.

Over time others joined their group and Aceh began to feel like he had a family again. A family that he would protect, a family that he would not fail, a family that he would proudly give his life to protect. While he still misses his clan he has finally found a place he can truly belong, somewhere that he can be himself and not what he was expected to be due to tradition.

'A Place to Belong'

After Eric took Malakye to treat his injuries Aceh more or less ignored the dragolfs existence. He treated his presence as a threat since they were deep in wolven territory, but he would never think to go against Eric's wishes and abandon him. Once they had safely made it into draconian territory Aceh finally allowed himself to relax and treat Malakye as something other than a threat to his family.

Seeing the other members of his irregular family take a liking to him he decided that Malakye couldn't be all that bad. Jason and Michael treated him like a friend, Cody was obviously smitten. He trusted them, even more so he trusted Eric's judgement. The Falcon had long since proven that he is an excellent judge of character, and seemingly had taken on a parental roll with the dragolf, teaching him and explaining the ways of the world to him.

After the tragedy that befell Malakye and his lover, Aceh felt sympathy for Malakye, the memories of his past resonating with what Malakye had experienced in losing a loved one. He agreed to teach Malakye how to fight, to give him the strength to protect those that he loved. Secretly Aceh was impressed at the dragolfs resilience. He himself had fled his home and family after suffering a similar tragedy, but Malakye decided to stand and fight. Proving himself as a strong and noble being that deserved his respect and loyalty as much as any other member of his family.

As he trained Malakye he learned that the dragolf was bigger mystery than he had ever expected. Malakye excelled in his training, no matter how hard he pushed him Malakye would never complain and seemed to learn with exceptional speed.

During the wolven raid on Rengilar Aceh saw another side to Malakye, a dark and power side which seemed to possess the dragolf. Before it came to the point that he would have been forced to fight Malakye to protect his family Malakye seemingly managed to regain control of himself. Despite his fears that if it was to happen again he would be unable to protect his family, he could not bring himself to turn his back on Malakye. He had become a part of his family, and he would protect his family, even if that meant he had to protect his family from itself.
