Never in my life would I have ever thought that something had hung over both me and my friend from several generations in our past. This was something that changed between us forever.

I've been called to Lin's house. Usually he would never call me at a time like this, especially since i was about to win back the love of my life, Shaundra. As I entered his place i saw him sitting at a table. I gave him a glare and he knew that this really wasn't the time.

Zephyr: This better be good Lin. I was just about to win Shaundra back.

Lin: Sorry Z, but i had to call you. C'mon, sit.

I then sat down on the other side of the table. Lin seemed to be interested in whatever he was holding so i asked him what it is.

Zephyr: So, what exactly did you call me here for?

Lin: Well......remember that secret passage we found?

Zephyr: The one in the library? Yeah, why, did someone else discover it?

Lin: Oh god no! No one should ever find that place except us...it has a special meaning.

Zephyr: And exactly what the heck is that suppose to mean?

Lin: Here.

Lin then hands me a scroll. I was somewhat amused and irritated at him because of this.

Zephyr: This? This is what you called me for!?

Lin: Open it and read what it says.

I opened the scroll to find a message in it. It was for me...from one of my ancestors.

To one of my relatives who would go by the name Zephyr. Follow this message immediately. The time you have is upon you for you are now able to prove yourself worthy upon the power. A great evil is set to lurk in your timeline. It is your duty to kill it before it's strength returns to it. Follow the map within the scroll to find a key and another map. That map will lead to a locked door. Behind that door is what you need to press forward on your dangerous task within the nowadays known Island of Muraki. Get to that room now!

Zephyr: .......What is this suppose to mean exactly?

Lin: It means we go back to the passage and follow the map. Looks like you have some hero worship in you after all.

Zephyr: I don't know...i mean...what really would happen if I were to just toss this aside and forget about it?

Lin: Oh well then...i guess Shaundra wouldn't like you if you were much of a hero anyways... (And in three...two...one...)

Hearing that, i snapped at Lin

Zephyr: Hey! Who's to say that i wouldn't do that? If you think i'm up for it but don't believe i can, then i'll prove you wrong!

Lin: That's the spirit! Now let's go!

With that we both dashed out the door

Library

As we arrived at the library, this turned out to be a shock, the place is held under investigation.

Zephyr: Hey, what gives?

Lin: Mrs. Alberic must have found out about the passage.

As soon as Lin said that, the fox girl then walks up to us.

Mrs. Alberic: Oh, sorry boys, the place is closed for a while.

Lin: Why's that?

Mrs. Alberic: Get this. There is a hidden passage within one of the bookcases. Some researchers are here to see where it leads.

Zephyr: (Dammit...every time!)

Lin: Ok then, we'll be going now.

We then walked away from the library. i was pissed because of this.

Lin Zeph, calm down.

Zephyr: Why should i? Every time, every single damn time we find something or get into something we know that would be awesome or exciting something always comes between that!

Lin: Look, we're not going to quit and go home now. You read what the scroll said. We'll have to sneak our way in.

Zephyr: And what are we going to explain to our folks if we get caught and arrested? Answer me that Linda.

Lin: We won't get caught and stop calling me Linda! You know i hate that.

Zephyr: Whatever, now...how are we sneaking in? I bet they have the whole place in tight security so getting in won't be easy.

Lin: Yes, even at night but we will have an advantage then.

Zephyr: Right, but if we get caught, we knock them out find the other map and the key, and get to the door.

Lin: Exactly. We're not fooling around this time so we need to be careful.

Later at night

It was almost midnight. Lin and I met behind the park so we could plan out.

Lin: Ok, here's what we are going to do. First we infiltrate from the side of the library. There is an air vent there that we can sneak in but we need to be careful since there is a blade fan there and one mistake can turn you into sushi.

Zephyr: So how do we take care of that?

Lin: Simple. We are going to jam it. We take the metal beams to the air vent door we come in from and use them to jam the fan long enough for us to get past it.

Zephyr: Won't that make a lot of noise?

Lin: It might, but we have no other option other than killing the guards.

Zephyr: Are you mad? I am not killing the guards.

Lin: Which is why that plan is only for emergencies.

Zephyr: Lin...

Lin: Look, some things are beyond our control. Now c'mon! We have to get going now.

We both then take off within the trees and snuck behind the library. Lin jumped up to the vent and lowered down a ladder he managed to have up there. When i got up in the vent with him, we jammed the fan with the bars that held the gate open and we swiftly moved forward before the fan got out of the jam.

Zephyr: Lin, why did you have a ladder up in the vent already?

Lin: I did some preparations before i found the scroll, i figured that something like this would have happened so it is always safe to have a backup plan and a second route to your destination.

Zephyr: ......

To be honest, i should have suspected something by now, Lin's been acting strange ever since we've found the passage. But he led me through the vents into one of the passages. I opened the map and we followed to where it lead to the key and other map.

Zephyr, if you've reached this then you are almost there. There is no turning back now. Everyone's life is at stake here. Get to the room before he gets out!

Zephyr: Who do you think this person is talking about?

Lin: I don't know, but whoever it is sounds like a real piece of work.

???: Hey, did you hear that?

???: Yeah. Someone else is here!

Lin: Crap, hide!

We both hid behind a rock and two researchers came into the corridor room.

Researcher: Hmm....

Researcher: Someone must have been here...

Researcher: Well it doesn't matter, they'll surely be spotted soon enough. Everyone is checking every path in this place to see what secrets are hidden here.

They then leave and we came out of hiding

Zephyr: Damn...getting to the other room won't be easy at all without being spotted

Lin: Don't worry, i've got a solution for that.

Zephyr: We are not killing anyone!

Lin: No, we knock them out.

Zephyr: Perhaps I should be the one knocking them out. You'll find their nerve points and paralyze them to death with a simple punch.

Lin: I promise i won't kill anyone.

Zephyr: You better not.

After that we both snuck out of the corridor, made our way past several researchers and guards. Once we reached the locked door, more scientists were there and we were spotted, but Lin acted fast enough and knocked all five of them out in an instant.

Zephyr: Dude! Why'd you do that?!

Lin: I don't want them to interfere! Now let's open the door.

Zephyr: Lin...

Lin: Open it...

I then insert the key in the door and the locks unlatched on the chains. The door fell down in front of us and we both walked in. As we approached a pedestal...something caught our attention. Its was a necklace.

Zephyr: A necklace......THAT"S WHAT WE CAME FOR!!??

Lin: ..........

Zephyr: Lin, if this is some damned idea of a joke you've got one thing coming your way!

Lin: ................

Zephyr: ......Lin?

I then wave my hand in front of his face...Lin didn't react at all...he was in some self induced trance.

Zephyr: Dude...what is up with you?

Lin: ........

Zephyr: ......Maybe this place is getting to you...we should leave.

As i grabbed his wrist he snapped

Lin: No!

Zephyr: What?

Lin: I will not leave until he dies!

Zephyr: Lin! What are you talking about!?

Lin: That necklace...holds my sworn enemy...he will not escape my grasp this time!

Before Lin grabbed the necklace i swiped it and kicked him out of the way.

Zephyr: What the hell is your problem!?

Lin: Give me him!

I then duck as he swung to punch me. I then began to run as Lin began to strike again...however i heard a voice.

???: Put on the necklace......

Zephyr: (What!? Who the heck is talking to me?)

???: There is no time! Your friend is in danger!

Pondering on what to do, I put on the necklace while avoiding some attacks from Lin. He soon made contact with me as i tripped but a barrier formed around me to block the attack.

Zephyr: W-what?

Lin: No...

???: I should have figured that you have somehow manage to free yourself from my grasp...but this time... I will make sure you are sealed forever!

In a bright flash Lin was thrown back and a figure emerged from the necklace. Before i had time to react, this person turned and helped me back to my feet.

???: I should thank you for awakening me...but it seems i was to late to stop him from possessing someone.

Zephyr: Who the heck are you...what is going on?!

Sheridan: The name's Sheridan...now's not the time...now we have to drive a certain someone out of your friend.

Lin then gets back up and charged at us. Sheridan then grabs him by the wrist and flips him over. Lin then sweep kicks him and backs away from him.

Lin: You squandering pest....it's high time that i kill you for good this time!

A dark aura then forms around Lin and he began to create a dark sphere of energy. I began to worry since this was beyond understanding what is happening. Sheridan then gets up and pulls me away from the door.

Sheridan: We need to weaken him...Zephyr.

Zephyr: What!?

Sheridan: I'm going to teach you a new game...Dead Mans Volley!

Zephyr: And what exactly do I do?!

Lin: Die!

Sheridan: You'll see.

Lin then throws the energy towards us, but Sheridan reacts and delivers a blow to the sphere. It goes flying back at Lin but he hits it back and towards me! Before it came too close Sheridan yelled at me to strike it. I reacted by throwing my fist into it, and to my luck it goes flying back at Lin. This process kept going back and forth several times until the intense speed that was increasing was too much and Lin took the energy.

Zephyr: Lin!

Sheridan: Don't...Lin's not himself anymore...he's possessed.

Zephyr: ......He is...

Sheridan: Yes...

Sheridan then walks up to Lin and picks him up.

Sheridan: ......Get out of his vessel now!

Lin: Never! I will not stop until you are dead...along with everything else around you!

Sheridan then violently slams Lin into the ground. I freaked and made him stop before he did anything to actually kill Lin

Zephyr: Sheridan! Don't kill him!

Sheridan: I wasn't...I'm trying to drive Nil out of him.

Zephyr: Nil...who the heck is Nil?

Nil: That would be me...

Lin then gets up and slams dark matter into the both of us and send us flying and crashing into the wall. In pain i looked up at him.

Nil: I possessed you friend weeks ago...once he discovered this room...i took this as a chance to lock his soul in my grasp...

Zephyr: What? What have you done with Lin!?

Nil: Hah! Under my control...he will never be freed!

Zephyr: Why you little.......

Sheridan: Zephyr...don't encourage him....

I ignored his warning. I got up and charged at Lin. He however reacted and knocked me out.

Sheridan: ......Damn you NIl....

Nil: Do you obviously think that i would give up...after all the generations and eons that i have endured fighting you!

Lin approached Sheridan and was about to strike...but lowered his hand and began walking away.

Nil: You should be lucky that i have lost most of my power......i know the rest of my power is locked away somewhere...i do not know where...but i will find it...once i do...eternal darkness is all you will see after that.

Lin then walks away and Sheridan passes out...

My best friend...capture and possessed by someone...who is now on the loose trying to find the rest of his power to create eternal darkness. My next move with Sheridan...is to stop Nil and free Lin.
