Frost

A story of a Piplup

It was a cold morning in Snowpoint City. Just the way I like it. I got up and heard my mother calling me down to eat. I lazily walked to the eating place and ate my usual; fish.

I loved to explore the area. But my mother everyday warned me not to go to the lake or the ruins. I got really bored one day, so I ventured close to the ruins. My mother spotted me, and her being as protective as possible, and whisked me away from there.

Today, I was venturing outside of the city. I saw many pokemon, like Delibird, Sneasel, Swinub, and even a few Snorunt. But this time, I was certain I was going to see the lake. I had always wondered if it was frozen over, like all water in the winter, or in water form, like when it's summer. I climbed the steep rocks to get to the lake. When I got to the top, I saw a group of pine trees that made a road to the lake. It was actually quite impressive. When I got to lake, I saw there was an island in the middle. Being as curious as can be, I swam up to the island.

Once there, I found a small opening, just big enough for me to squeeze through. I climbed inside and asked, "Hello? Is there anyone here?"

"What do you want?" a voice asked.

"Waaa! Who said that?" I shouted worriedly.

"You asked if anyone was here, and I complied. My name, is Uxie." A pokemon said. He came out of the shadows of the small cave.

"Uxie? The Being of Knowledge?" I asked.

"Yes. You may have heard legends of me." He got up close to my face, his eyes closed, tiny arms and feet hanging down, and twin tails sticking up in the back. "Those stories are true. I have the power of knowledge, and it is not as wonderful as you expect. If you are here for such knowledge, then begone." he waved me off, and turned his back.

"Hey! I am not here for your petty knowledge! I'm here for adventure!" I yelled at him.

He turned his head. "Foolish words, young one. I will let it slide for now, but in the future, do not speak to your superiors this way." He turned his attention back to the end of the cave. I was left alone in the darkness.

"Hey! Wait up! I'm scared!" I ran after Uxie. I found Uxie in the darkness, and held on to one of his tails that were hanging down. He looked at me in surprise, but then saw a tear form in my eye.

"Don't cry, young one. There is nothing to be afraid of. You and I are the only things in this cavern." He said comfortingly. But then, an explosion shook the cavern, and the front entrance was blown to pieces. "Hide!" Uxie quickly shouted.

I quickly ran to a corner of the cavern and hid behind a fairly large rock by my standards. When the smoke cleared, I saw two Humans in a strange uniform. It had their symbol 'G' on their left chest and it almost looked like some sort of skin tight water suit. They both had a teal colored hair. They picked something up, and a net shot out of it. It captured Uxie in a net.

"There's no use trying to teleport, Uxie." One of the Humans said. "This net is covered in Umbreon hair." Uxie's face now grew terrified, as he could not do anything in his power. The Humans carried Uxie out and left the lake.

After a good few moments, I came out of hiding. "Uxie?" I asked. No answer. I looked around, but saw no one. "Uxie?" I asked again. Still no answer. "Hello? Anyone?" I asked once more. Once again, there was no answer. Then, a Buizel popped out of the water.

It noticed me in my worried state and said, "Hey, don't worry. Come here and tell Momma Buizel what happened here." She looked around. I slowly walked over to 'Momma Buizel'.

"Th-th-they took-took him away." I choked.

"They took who away. And who's they?" Momma Buizel asked.

"The people with that strange symbol on their clothes. They took Uxie away." I explained, a little more comfortable.

I had reached Momma Buizel. She hugged me closely and asked, "What did the symbol look like? Can you draw it out for me?"

I broke away from her embrace, and drew the image I saw on their suit. Upon seeing this, Momma Buizel gasped, and picked me up in her arms.

"Where are your parents?" She asked.

"By the sea. In Snowport City." I sniffled.

She carried me to my house, and set me down. My house was only a small snow hill. But the snow here was deep. About 10 feet deep to be exact. We went inside and Momma Buizel talked with my real mom. I went and sat in a corner, thinking about what I just saw. I overheard Momma and mom talking about what I saw. I heard her say that the people I saw were taking Uxie to Vielstone City.

'I know where that is! Mom took me there on a trip once!' I thought. I knew exactly where to go. And I knew what I had to do. I got out of the corner, and snuck out of the house. making my way down route 217, and route 216. Eventually making it to Mt. Coronet. I braved my fears, and made my way through the long cave. Eventually making it out at route 211. I made my way through Celestic town, and then down route 215 and finally made it to Vielstone City. I got lost, but then found my way to a building with the symbol I saw at the lake on it.

"This must be it." I said to myself. I walked inside. But found that it was empty. There were papers scattered everywhere. I found a door, and opened it. It led downstairs. I hopped down and saw Uxie in a glass tube, filled with some kind of green liquid. There were two others like him, but only a different color and a slightly different shape. I ran up to Uxie and yelled his name, but he did not respond. I tried using peck on the glass, but it had no effect. Then, I saw a big red button. I jumped onto the console it was on, and stepped on it. The glass slid upwards, releasing everything that was being held inside of it.

Uxie coughed and sputtered the liquid out. "Uxie!" I shouted. I ran up to him and hugged him. "Are you alright?"

Uxie floated up. "Yes, child, I am fine." he replied. "And so are my brother and sister. We thank you for saving us." he said. He picked me up, looked back at his relatives, and nodded. The two that were here just a second ago, were all of a sudden gone. Then, we had arrived in Snowpoint City in a split second. I looked at Uxie with a confused face. "Teleport." he simply replied. he set me down and said, "Run to your parents. Tell them what happened. And remember to stop by." I nodded, and he left. I walked inside, only to be greeted by my mothers embrace.

"Where were you?!" she yelled. "You've been gone for days!"

I explained what happened to her, and avoided a scolding and being grounded for life. After things settled down, I went to the lake, and played with Uxie for a while. It went on like this for another three years...

Author's Notes:

I personally thought the story was bland. But I guess that's what you get when you write a story in three hours. But this story has Piplup, and Piplup is based off of penguins, and I love penguins. Leave a comment! It's the only way I'll get better if you criticize me!
