In our next chapter, this is just a sample of what the big dragon secretary does even surviving the wrath of the most powerful director in Hollywood.

From The Desk of Ms. Bellington

  1. The Tasks of Miss Bellington

Friday June, 19

"Being a being of incredible power and stamina, mere human tasks can go by like a breeze for me but when I worked on the workloads that my boss and the directors gave me I felt it was becoming more and more of a challenge thank goodness my boss lets me run this in my dragon form or else I would've ended up in the hospital by lunchtime. But there is nothing these people can throw at me even as I'm writing this entry and putting the finishing touches on a thirty page report and proofreading a five thousand page status block at the same time!" Task One: Dictation and Writing

"There are many differences and similarities between between taking notes by hand an taking them with by keyboard. For starters trying to keep in sync with the person you are getting notes from, having legible handwriting and making sure it's all verbatim. The one similarly I can think of is that both of them make you fall victim to hurt hands and carpal tunnel syndrome."

How Bellington works when taking notes from her boss is that he is humble enough to let her tell him that he needs to slow down when taking notes by hand. It is reasonable when you have big, powerful hands just trying around the simple task of holding such tiny pen and pad. It is amazing she can still write with those monster hands of hers! Sometimes she can transfer those writings to the screen and this is where she really works. Using a specially modified version of a LCD display keyboard made for her size Ms. Bellington can type up all of those written words before you can even blink. Even more so to analyze, piece up and type out the bi-annual, 300 page progress report, make a presentation and copy it all under two hours where else it would've taken months.

Task Two: Getting Lunch and Having it Too

Everybody wants something. When the midday lunch hour calls in for the boss is the first to give the lunch order and all I have to do is go out get the food and come back and eat happy right? Wrong! It's the boss and everybody else."

When you're hungry at work, the convenience of snack machines or the quick trip to the corner market are there for your pleasure but then comes the lunch hour it he comes the equivalent of a triathlon as she has to get the lunches of the boss and ten other people in administration as well as something for herself. Using her wings she flew around the city to six different restaurants to get all of the orders before 12 o'clock. When getting all of the lunches, she was lugging around over twenty bags full of food as she flies up the building and calls out who got what they want including Xenny but it leaves Sarah furious that she forgot to get what she wanted and smashes her desk in frustration.

Task Three: How to Deal With Directors

"Being the assistant to a studio exec, you have to expect to share some of the responsibilities that will pile up on you even carrying the direct orders of the president without question. Problem is, what can you do when you have to tell the most powerful director in Hollywood that he's fired?"

Xenny is not a stranger of firing people like any company executive does but is reluctant to get rid of those who he had no choice but can be totally relentless and even happy to give people he hates the boot. For Bellington she had the unfortunate duty to give Ronko Dolan the most powerful director in Hollywood the news that he is fired from the studio project because of the enduring costs to the studio.

When arriving to Los Angeles to meet with Ronko he was pretty much everything that would make him a disgrace to other directors but without him the major studios would never get their big bucks or their millions off their movies but this is one studio that is better off without. First she used the diplomatic approach but Ronko didn't even budge. Then came the direct approach even with proof that she was sent to dismiss him all he did was burned the proof and warned her that if she and her boss annoys him again he can easily destroy the studio on a whim and walks away. Bellington was already loosing her patience with this director and tries to tell him that he's fired from the project as she chases after him, what happened next was both a shock and terror to the crew members as Ronko attacked Sarah with a series of punches and sexist verbal tirades, blind to the fact he assaulted someone who can turn him into abstract art in a flash. Sarah furious just from the first strike picked up Ronko and dragged his carcass out the studio doors and roared in declaration that he's fired and Ronko left running saying he'll sue.

The following days were a nightmare for Sarah as for what she did would certainly get her fired for being unprofessional let alone for physically throwing out the most powerful director in Hollywood! Xenny called her up in a serious tone that makes her feel that her fate is sealed but when meeting with her boss what he says is different than how he looks. He lays out the details of what happened after the incident. When Ronko threatened to sue and drag the name of the company into the dirt, he retaliated in giving him the risks of even trying to reach his lawyers. Witnesses, testimonies from other studios who confessed that they can't stand to have him anymore other than for profit and others who have the balls to stand up against him. It seemed that Sarah's action was the spark that would eventually bring down the director who held the entertainment industry hostage for years. However Xenny can't let Sarah get away with what she did even though all signs showed Ronko assaulted her. He called for her two-day suspension with pay, to keep in the good graces (and mercy) of the lawyers. Sarah agreed to this and left but not before getting a personal thanks from Xenny and a good assurance that everything will be alright for her.
