Two chapters that was supposed to be but is combined into one to make it longer. What's going to happen after that horrible betrayal?

A Good Day To Die Hard

4 weeks later we managed to repair everything that the missile destroyed and the village looked good as new. That was the good news anyway. The bad news was we had gotten a lot of complaints from the villagers that some of their precious belongings were stolen and they couldn't find them anywhere. So, that's what was going on. The fight was a diversion as well. Not only did Henry make off with the documents and destroy the computers, but another team of Masked Eagles snuck in and stole some items and got out before the missile came down. I had to give them a little credit on that part. Now we were more determined than ever to get the items, and the documents, back from the Masked Eagles.

Grazar had left a week beforehand and hasn't returned since. We were starting to get worried until we saw him come back with the same expression on his face: Serious. He informed us that he has found an airport and the Masked Eagles were loading the merchandise on board. If we don't get down there soon, we'll never be able to get them back. He also told us that he saw Henry there as well. That was more of a reason for us to get to that airport and get those items, and Henry, back.

We left immediately as Grazar led the way to the airport. The airport was actually a little ways away from our village. Only some people still use planes as of today because they don't have dragons there and have no other means of transportation. Not all dragons are bad, you know. Once you get past the sharp teeth, claws, and fire breaths (or ice breaths depending on the dragon), they have a heart of gold. I should know. Grazar tends to always follow me everywhere. Even if he won't admit it, he's a bit overprotective of me now. I tend to love seeing his reactions whenever I catch him following me when he tries to hide from me. He still acts like a little dragon hatchling.

By the time we had gotten there the sun was already setting. The place was, of course, crawling with Masked Eagles that were getting ready to take-off. We didn't have any time to spare so we had to make this quick. We spotted the plane that they were loading items in not too far from our position on the other side of the fence. We climbed up over the fence and slowly crept past Eagle after Eagle. To be even more sneaky and careful, we would climb on top of buildings and run across the roofs. I had to admit, it was pretty fun doing that. Especially with a team that shared the same thing.

Of course, all good things must come to an end sooner or later (Duh.). As soon as we came down from one of the rooftops, we landed in a pitfall that was hidden in the shadows. We dropped to the ground as it gave way and we landed at least 2-3 feet in the ground. Then a spotlight was shined down on us.

"We got them!" we heard one of the Masked Eagles shout out. "They're here! Get in there and capture them while we got the chance!"

We could hear some footsteps not too far from us as well as the sound of the plane starting up and getting ready to take off. We looked at each other and nodded as Tyrone, Bradley, and I put our hands together. The girls then put their foot up on our hands so we can lift them up and that they could make their way out. Once they were out, they reached their hands in and we grabbed them so they lift us up out of the pitfall. It was just in time before the Eagles arrived fully loaded with weapons. They wasted no time firing at us as the four of us scrambled behind a box. It didn't seem like a lot of them but, believe me, there were tons of them.

"Geez, there's no end to these guys," Bradley shouted over the gunfire. "That plane is going to take off any second and they're in our way!" He grumbled as he reached behind him and pulled out his Bear Commander. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm not going to get pinned down here! If I'm going down, I'm going to go down fighting!" He peeked out from cover and started to return fire on the Eagles.

The rest of us looked at each other. Elgris and Tirela pulled out their rifles and smiled at us.

"The three of us will hold them off here," Tirela said.

"Yeah, the two of you need to get to that plane," said Elgris.

"What? You can't be serious!" Tyrone said to them. "We can't just split up like this! We need to stick together!"

"Dude, we got this!" Bradley shouted at him. "Now go!"

Tyrone and I looked at each other. Perhaps they could buy us some time to get to the plane. We then nodded to each other and turned to them.

"Very well then," I said to them. "Good luck!" And with that, Tyrone and I turned and ran to one of the bunkers, away from the gunfire. The Eagles were ignoring us (or at least I thought they were) as we ran past and headed to the plane. As we got closer to it we saw that it was now moving and going down the runway. We're not going to make it. "It's moving! We're not going to get to it in time!"

"Captain, look!" Tyrone yelled out as he pointed at a nearby jeep. He ran over to it and hopped into the driver seat, leaned down under the steering wheel, and started fiddling around with some wires. It was then I realized that he was trying to hotwire it. It only took him a few seconds to get the jeep running. I got over to the passenger side and he quickly sped off toward the plane as it continued to zoom down the runway. We got closer and closer to the back of the plane as the cargo doors were slowly lifting up and closing. Not only that, the plane was now taking off. I started to stand up slowly on the seat and leaned out a little and reached my hand out. With no time at all, I managed to grab onto the ledge of the door as it continues to rise up and the plane took off and I made my way inside.

The cargo bay was really dark inside. Even with some of the windows on the side of the plane, it seemed like sunlight was having a hard time making its way in. The only thing I could tell was that there were packaged boxes and materials everywhere. In the mess, I managed to see the stolen merchandise from our village. As I approached it I saw a shadow figure swing a sword at me. I managed to jump out of the way so I wouldn't get cut across the stomach or worse. I didn't know who it was but I stood my ground. The sunlight managed to get in some more to bring some light into the room. I saw who it was: It was Henry dressed as one of the Masked Eagles.

"Henry?!" I exclaimed. "What are you doing siding with the Eagles?! Why have you betrayed us?! We were a team!"

"You haven't figured it out yet?" he said to me. "I was never a part of your little team. I was sent in from the King of the Forbidden Village to infiltrate your village and become a Hawk Warrior. I needed to gain your trust so you'd let your guard down around me. I just waited for the time to act. When it was, I took what I could, smashed your computers to pieces, and got out of town before the missiles hit. The plan worked perfectly. Now, we're going to get these items back to the Village and sell them for a profit."

By the tone of his voice, it sounded like he had something against Hawktown. It wasn't just orders he was acting on.

"What do you have against our village?" I asked him. "What lie did that coward of a king tell you to have you carry out this foolish act?"

I seemed to have hit a nerve because he gave me a very fuming look.

"Our king is not a coward! He is a very dignified ruler, much better than that birdbrain of a king of yours. That bastard led an army to war 12 years ago! They destroyed everything! He killed my parents! I was only a little boy! I had to watch as that man drove that blade into their hearts and he didn't have any remorse for them. He will pay for what he did. He took away the only family I had left that I knew of. The King and Queen of the Masked Eagles actually took me in. They saw something in me. They raised me to be who I am today! And I'll be damned if I'm going to turn my back on them. I will not be happy until every last one of you is dead. Especially that damn king!" He held up his sword at me and that facial expression was still there. "As much as I respect you, 'Captain', many seek your death. I hope you don't mind if I would do the honors."

He was serious. He really intends to kill me and every last one of the Hawk Warriors, even our king. But what he said before clicked in my head: A war 12 years ago. ...that was around the same time the Eagles invaded our village and the time...my father was killed. Was he the one...?

"You know I was the same age as you those 12 years ago. I, too, had lost my parents that same time. My mother died of a strange illness. My father was murdered all the same. But, I have one question for you. You say you will not stop until all of us Warriors are dead. Would you have something to do with killing my father, Nixon Hawkings, as a means of your revenge?"

"Your father? I heard he was a great Hawk Warrior...a great friend of your King. He was respected in your village and partially feared in my village. Many tried to kill him but they all failed in the process. I was undergoing intense training during the invasion of your village. I did not know the invasion had begun. So, your answer is no... I did not kill your father...though I should feel honored that somebody did it for us. It leaves your village defenseless and it makes your people hopeless and makes them welcome death into their lives."

"You seem to forget that I am his son!" I was quickly angered by this and it was my turn to take out my sword and pointed it at him. "I'll see to it that you and your worthless posy of a village do not bring harm to my friends and family!"

"You would die so rashly for your village?"

"I would, and you're doing the same as we speak."

The room suddenly got quiet as we stared at each other with swords pointing at each other's throats. Then, I saw him step and take a swing at me. I stepped back and counted with a swing of my own to block his sword swipe. I actually got to see more of his sword skills in action. He was never around when my team was training and such so I don't know much of his skills. As far as I was seeing, he still had some time to improve. He kept lashing out at me and continued to leave himself wide open for a sock in the face or the stomach. I did not intend to kill him. I had to at least knock him out and take him back to the Village (and not have Bradley kill him). We continued to dodge and counter each other's attacks and I wanted to believe I was having the upper hand. He was panting and was getting more desperate. He did get me a few times but I didn't stop there. He had cuts and bruises all over his body. A couple of more hits and he should be down for the count.

He thrust his sword at me which was a big mistake. I easily avoided it and sent a punch to his face. He flew back against the pilot and bumped heads against him. That impact made the pilot lose consciousness and the plane started to make a dive bomb to the ground. The alarm started going off and a voice from the computer continued to repeat "Pull up". Neither one of us knew how to fly a plane. There wasn't an autopilot button neither (for some strange reason).

"We really did it now," I muttered to myself.

"Great, the plane's going down!" He yelled out and then he turned his attention to a rather large brute that was in the seat right next to the pilot seat. "Hey, take care of him while I look for a parachute for us! Make sure he doesn't leave this plane alive!" He put his sword away and ran to the side of the plane and started looking through some boxes.

I was about to run over and intercept him but that brute was faster than I thought. He came out of nowhere and tried to punch me in the face, but I ended up ducking and did a leg sweep under him. He fell on his back but quickly got back up, grabbed my arm, and threw me across the room. I rolled on the ground and hit my back against the wall. While I was on the ground, he was reaching for a gun that was in a green bag. It was a classic Desert Eagle. He started firing shots at me. I managed to tuck and roll out of the way but the bullets were hitting fire extinguishers and the pipes in the walls. The pipes were spewing out flames and fumes and another alarm was going off.

I thought I was in the clear but just when I was about to get up, a stray bullet managed to hit me in my side. Luckily, the bullet went through and didn't hit any vital organs. I yelled out in pain and held my side to try to stop some of the bleeding. The blood was quickly covering my whole hand as I tried to scramble to my feet. I quickly dove behind some boxes while he was still firing and while Henry was still looking for a parachute. I looked around and I saw a lever above me. He stopped firing for a second to reload. That gave me the chance to reach up and pull the lever down. The cargo doors started to open slowly as every started to roll out of the plane. The brute dropped the gun and tried to grab onto something to hang on. The gun landed by me and I took my free hand, grabbed the gun, aimed it, and pulled the trigger. The bullet went straight through his head and his body rolled out of the plane. I heard something behind me as I turned to saw Henry getting ready to jump.

"Henry!" I shouted at him. He turned to face me and he just smiled.

"It's Avoi, now," was the last thing he said before jumping out of the plane with the parachute on his back. I grunted as I ran over to the box and saw that there were no more parachutes. How was I going to get out of this one? I was losing my balance as I fell and started to slide out of the plane. I looked over and saw the bag with the stolen goods in it. They were all in a large backpack so I could easily get it on me. I tried to hold onto something but I could only do so much with one arm while the other was still holding my side. I couldn't hold on anymore as I fell out of the plane and started falling toward the ground. There was so much sand everywhere. My guess was we were over a desert or something. As I was falling I saw a box falling right next to me. Attached to it was a parachute. I glided over to it and grabbed onto the box. I reached up and pulled the string on the parachute and it opened up; just enough time before I had hit the ground. The plane crashed not too far from me as I slowly descended down and flopped onto the sand. I slowly arose to my feet and walked up a small hill to observe the crash site. I was really far away from home now. I have no idea how I am going to get back. This wound at my side isn't really helping much either.
