Since the day I was born my parents left my upbringing to a sweet female anthro. A soft spoken and very loving German Sheppard that couldn't give birth herself. This is where the seed of respecting and love for my fellow anthros was forged. Instead of listening to my parents I willingly defied them in defense of an anthro. It was because of that one act alone that got the anthros and I tossed onto the street.

What they failed to notice that I legally siphoned funds into a private account. Figuring they'd get tired of me constantly speaking out about their servants care. We were instructed to pack our clothes and be off the property within the hour. I spent the next seven months traveling the country finding them new employment. Brianna and Sophia chose to remain with me while I got my new business started.

Most new businesses have trouble gaining ground oddly enough not one issue. I opened up a security business that employs not only human staff but, anthros also. Soldiers that come home after the military contracts expire are giving top priority. The second they arrive we have them undergo a ninety day detox and re-training. When the Navy learned about my business they quickly sent us some much needed help.

They sent down three of their best Navy Seal drill instructors that just retired. Even after four months things are blooming regardless of all the Navy's investments. Sophia took to their training like a fish through water to everyone's amazement. As for Brianna or Bri for short, she found her niche working as our diligent secretary. Now the world we know today is still adjusting with some friction to our anthro cousins.

Seventy-nine percent of the world's population is human while the rest is anthro. Most of the minor friction that's happened has mainly been verbal on our part. Our government was very adamant that no violent or racial acts will be tolerated. Anyone caught violating those laws will be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Luckily after two years anthros of every breed, gender and age are treated equally.

There are still a select few that view anthros as mindless sub-servant beasts. My ex-family amongst the small number of rich upper class snobs in the world. Even though a majority of the world's anthro populations keep to their own towns. Shockingly a select few anthros have and are still serving with our nations soldiers. Once there service term comes to an end normally eight out of ten walk through our doors.

Seeing members of their kind helped them revert to civilian life much easier. Little did I know that on a warm cloudy Wednesday morning fate would visit. I asked Sophia and Bri to cover for me seeing as I had a doctor's appointment. Now I'm not a big fan of the doctor but, keeping track of my health is important. As I walked into the spacious waiting room and gave the receptionist my name.

A minute later this lovely female German Sheppard entered and stood behind me. Glancing briefly over my shoulder at her and remained locked after sitting down. To make things worse she took the seat over from me and smiled in my direction. We didn't say anything to each other until we gained the attention of everyone else. The second I realized we were being watched my face started burning a soft red color.

Making the attractive canine smile as my embarrassment became more apparent. "You know handsome if your face gets any redder your head might pop off." She said. As if on cue I turned my gaze away from her before making things worse. She chuckled then slid one seat closer then exhaled huskily into my right ear. Naturally my reaction was predictable as I jumped off my seat making everyone laugh.

Luckily for me the nurse entered the room then called my name on her list. With that I grabbed my things and followed the nurse to the examination room. The nurse had me sit on the table then checked my blood pressure and breathing. After taking my temperature the nurse quietly left the room with a polite goodbye. While I'm waiting for the doctor I still couldn't get that anthro woman off my mind.

Before I could rack my brain about the woman someone knocked on the door. Giving them the okay to enter the male doctor walked into the room and said hello. He asked me several routine questions before beginning the next thing on the list. As he checked off things on his list he sat back down on the chair before speaking. "Well, Mr. Meister everything's in order and only thing left is a blood test." He stated.

I quickly put my clothes back on then walked down the hall towards the lab. Once there I saw the female anthro from before sitting there with another woman. The female lab tech was almost finished as she placed a bandage on the wound. Next she carefully and removed the pressure band from around the anthro's arm. With a pleasant goodbye from the canine and as she walked by I got a playful wink.

Without any warning on her part she snuck back up behind me and spoke. "I do hope we get to see each other again handsome my name's Kate, Mr. Meister." She said. From there she walked back to the check out desk as the doc handed my file over. The tech asked me to take a seat in the chair while the lab tech got things ready. She grabbed a few vials, a fresh needle, some gauze and two decent strips of tape.

First she grabbed my forearm then checked for an artery around my elbow. Once she found it the tech prepped the site then grabbed the needle and a vial. Closing my fist as the needle pierced my flesh and began to draw blood from me. I flinched at first then watched the vial fill up until it reached the desired amount. The tech pinched the line then quickly swapped out the vial for another and let go.

When she finished the tech grabbed a cotton ball then placed it over the needle. Next she carefully withdrew the needle from my arm then properly disposed of it. Grabbing a strip of tape and some gauze she gently bandaged the injection site. With that taken care of she removed the pressure band then allowed me to leave. Standing up I walked to reception desk to see if the doc wanted a follow up appointment.

Of course the nurse behind the desk said that he wanted to see me in three months. She wrote the date and time down and gave me the card then walked to my car. Two aisles and nine cars later a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge was waiting patiently. Quite a few folks ask me why I haven't traded in my muscle car for something better. Before I started my business I wasn't sure how long the money I siphoned would last.

Wisely I pinched my pennies until my business rolling and had a stable income. Or on the off chance my ex-family figured out what I did behind their backs. Luckily for me they never learned besides I'm more than ready to take this publicly. Besides I doubt they'd want to tangle with my friends in our nation's government. Though to be perfectly honest I almost wish those rich snobs would try something.

Since I've got a lot of ammunition stored up in the event they try something. For now I'll focus on my happiness and my business until such a day arrives. As I exited the parking lot I noticed the same female canine anthro from before. She was walking down the street with a smile on her muzzle and tail wagging. When my car stopped at the light as she turned left while I signaled to turn right.

Once the light changed I drove away, sadly this wouldn't be our only meeting. It wasn't until Brianna stopped me one day morning and confronted me. "Logan, normally I don't stick my nose where it doesn't belong but, not this time. What's the deal between you and that attractive female German Sheppard anthro?" Bri asked. I couldn't keep the surprise off my face but, out of my voice also when I replied.

"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THERE'S SOMETHING GOING ON?! Hell, I find it considerably weird that our path keep crossing so what gives, Bri?" I replied. She didn't say anything to me as she walked back to her desk with a big smile. I decided it was time to occupy myself with work before anything else happened. As I entered the gymnasium Sophia was hard at work inside one of the boxing rings.

"Oh, Hey boss I'll be right with you once I'm done warming up the rookie." She smiled. I was quick to remind the canine what happened the last time she got carried away. With a reassuring promise she resumed her sparring match with her partner. From there I checked on my other advisors to see what was planned for today. They were still debriefing some of our new recruits that arrived earlier this week.

When a soldier comes home they're still amped up from their term overseas. Most come to us for a three month debrief and detox which has great results. The odds of a soldier developing PTSD are reduced roughly by sixty five percent. It does our hearts good being able to help our brothers in arms return to normal. "Logan, please come to the front there's somebody here to see you." Bri said over the PA.

Rolling my eyes I turned around and walked towards the front of the building. As I turned the corner then marched down the hall I soon heard polite conversation. Who ever Bri was talking to as I approached sounded like a friendly person. When I entered the main foyer I knocked on the front desk getting their attention. "You summoned me Ms. Regen, so what seems to be the problem?" I wondered.

"Greetings, Mr. Meister my name is Vala Blazein do you have time to talk?" She asked. As I look upon the shapely wolfess and the first thing to come to mind is, Damn. The next thought to enter my mind was how she's able to avoid being ganged raped. Of course the muscle mass she had would certainly make anyone think twice. She's standing there with a broad smile on her face as I continued checking her out.

"If you want me to pose on your dresser, I work cheap if you're interested." She teased. That got Bri laughing and it was her laughter that broke me out of my trance. From there I escorted her and my highly embarrassed butt into my office. Allowing her to sit down on my comfy desk chair before we started talking business. Once I sat down across from my desk she leaned forward then began to speak.

"My life-mate Clark is overseas dealing with one of our branch companies. Leaving me in charge of headquarters and I'm looking to make good investment. I've been shopping around for a while and your business has kept coming up. Naturally I couldn't resist coming here to see if all the praise was true or false. Could I get a tour and a rundown of your business along with all its finances?" She stated.

"Of course Mrs. Blazein I can have everything you need ready by tomorrow. As for the tour if you don't have any plans I'll be happy to give you one now." I replied. She smiled then got up out of my chair and I gave her a tour most folks don't get. Since she was serious about becoming an investor I had to make a good impression. When we entered the gym I noticed Sophia coming out of the locker room.

With a towel slung around her neck she saw us walking by and waved hello. Vala eyed the tall muscular canine for a second then looked at me with a smile. We continued the tour though I could sense that something else was on her mind. Not wanting to poke into her personal affairs I wisely kept the question to myself. "You've gotten awful quiet all of a sudden is there any reason why, Mr. Meister?" She asked.

I told her what was on my mind hoping she wouldn't get mad and she didn't. Vala was actually more than happy to explain the rest of her reasons for coming. Her life-mate and business partner adopted a fellow anthro that's got talent. The lioness has shown skill for bodyguard work and she's hoping we'd train her. "I'd have to meet her then have my people see what they've got to work with." I pointed out.

"Excuse me, miss could you come here for a second please I need a favor." Vala said. Sophia nodded while she walked Vala's head moved up as Sophia stood before us. Though I don't think she was prepared to learn just how tall Sophia truly was. "My friend's waiting out the car parked outside could you retrieve her, please?" Vala asked. With a polite nod, Sophia walked away to fetch Vala's friend from her vehicle.

A few moments late Sophia returned with a rusty red color African Lioness. "Vala how do you expect me to do my job if I'm left in the, Damn Car." Corna stated. The wolfess merely chuckled while I asked Sophia to go retrieve Hank for me. She left to get the thirty year veteran drill instructor hoping that he hadn't left. Luckily a couple minutes later Hank entered the gym with Sophia right behind him.

Naturally I filled him in on what was going on and he was happy to oblige. Sophia escorted Corna into the locker room to put on some proper training attire. When they returned Hank was waiting for her in the ring where he assessed her. By the time they finished Corna was exhausted and Hank had worked up sweat. "Alright, that's enough go get cleaned up and let's get you registered, Corna." I instructed.

After Corna was nice and legal to receive training they had to be going. She told me that she'd be in touch after she's given my finances a solid look. Once they left I closed the place down for the night and walked outside to my car. Instead of going straight home I decided to hit the local nightclub for some fun. Normally I don't bother going to such places but, I couldn't ignore Vala's private advice.

She told me if I wanted to learn more about myself I needed to explore. Though she warned that I should be careful and don't do anything really stupid. Keeping that in mind she gave me a list of popular cubs that serve both species. Most of them were ten minutes away while the rest were about an hour away. Granted I'm not much of a drinker but, a little fun shouldn't be too out of line...I hope.

When my car pulled into the parking lot, the club didn't look overly packed. At least from what I could tell from as I pulled squarely into the parking spot. Once I cut the ignition then locked the door and walked towards the entrance. The two bouncers at the door checked my ID then calmly asked for my keys. Before allowing me to enter the building as I went inside towards another set of doors.

Two more bouncers screened me for concealed weapons with a metal detector. Once they were satisfied they opened the doors and told me to enjoy myself. As I looked around the place was lively but, there were more anthros than humans. By this time I wandered my way to the bar and sat down but, before I ordered. "Now if I didn't know any better I'd say fate keeps bringing us together." A voice teased.

Spinning around on my chair I was face to face with a very familiar canine. Her eyes were beautiful I couldn't stop staring into them until she spoke again. "Mind if I join you or are you enjoying the view right where its standing?" Kate asked. Being the gentlemen I allowed her to take my seat while I took another on the right. We started talking about all sorts of things then wound up out on the dance floor.

Keep this in mind I'm not the most graceful dancer and I did step on her feet. Luckily Kate wasn't upset if anything she was more than willing to help me out. With her advice I was able to correct my two left feet just as the next song began. It was strange to be so close to her and yet something felt right about all of this. Especially when she draped her arms around my neck then held me close against her.

By the time the bartender yelled last call it was time for us to say goodnight. "I don't feel comfy letting you walk, please allow me to bring you home." I stated. From there we retrieved my keys and walked out to where I parked my GTO. Once I was behind the wheel I fired up V8 engine then left and drove to her apartment. After arriving at her place I escorted her to the door where I nervously asked her out.

Kate smiled, instructed me to wait outside then walked inside for a moment. She returned shortly after, kissed me then gave me a note and said don't be late. After a long goodbye I staggered back to my car while Kate turned in for tonight. The entire drive back to my home I felt like I was floating on a cloud of butterflies. By the time I got there, reached my bed I couldn't seem to settle myself down.

For the next few days I had this goofy smile that made everybody curious. Unable to help her instinctual curiosity Bri grabbed me then pulled me aside. Where the jackal started interrogating me until I cracked under the steady pressure. Once I spilled my guts she just stood there shocked with eyes bigger than saucers. She wasn't totally prepared to hear me admit something like that so suddenly.

Sadly Bri wasn't the only woman that over heard my startling confession. Sophia had been walking by when Bri got me to squeal about my strange mood. She had heard me correctly but, processing it proved a bit harder to pull off. Of course the muscular Newfoundland dog reacted more accordingly than Bri did. The door flew open she grabbed my sides then spun me around and hugged me.

Being buried face first against her large chest, while her tail wagged furiously. She was excited that I got a date but, it didn't stop her from giving me a warning. Sophia told me if I hurt her let's just say I'd be occupying a bed at the hospital. Knowing better I gave her my word that I'd behave myself tomorrow night. With that matter settled she placed me down then gave Bri's brain polite reboot.

As the day went on I handled the bills and everything that goes along with them. When from out of nowhere the fax machine started ringing then began printing. Once it finished I got up from my seat then walked over and grabbed the papers. After I put them in order it was a financial report from this past week's expenses. Comparing the report to the bills making sure that there weren't any major mistakes.

Everything seemed to check out so I filed everything away in the cabinet. As I opened and closed the filing cabinet the phone on my desk started ringing. Walking over then picked the receiver off the base and answered politely. "Good, afternoon to you also, Mr. Meister I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Vala said. I was a bit surprised to hear from her but, I was curious to hear what's on her mind.

"As you know I've been giving your business and financials a going over. You'll be happy to know I've decided to become an investor if you're okay with it. Could you swing by my company's main branch and sign some vital paperwork? Also bring a co-signer along but, if you can't make it today than I'll see you Monday." She replied. Once I agreed to be there when I could, she said goodbye then hung up the phone.

For a wolfess of Vala's standards I had to wonder what her life mate was like. To keep such a lovely canine like her on his arm every single night of the week. Of course I could spend the rest of my day thinking about Vala's personal life. Sadly I had problems to deal with like what to get and wear on my own date. The funny part is I don't know anyone with experience that could lend me a hand.

Naturally I could ask the guys but, they'd bust my chops more than help out. I'm pretty much on my own with this situation until someone out of blue appeared. "Excuse me, I couldn't help but, notice that you're in need of some assistance?" She asked. As I turned around to face the woman my head tilted up to look into her eyes. Standing over seven feet tall with snow white fur was a wolfess unlike any I've met.

Wearing a lovely strapped dress and that's when I noticed something strange. Folded neatly against her back where two large pairs of stunning gold wings. Even the rest of her features were unique making the tall wolfess a true beauty. For a brief moment she felt like an old soul that I once knew in another lifetime. Once I started telling her about what's got me frazzled she sat there listening patiently.

"Your problem isn't as big as I first believed but, not completely hopeless. The best advice I can give you hun is just be yourself and things will work out. Buy your self a decent outfit and some nice white flowers but, no roses okay. Most importantly stay calm an act naturally or you're night will be incredibly short." She stated. Before I could ask for her name she leaned over, kissed my forehead then left.

As I went to give chase the bi-winged wolfess vanished like a phantom. Leaving me to wonder if the angelic wolfess was real or merely a guiding light. In either case she got me thinking in the right direction for later on tonight. Seeing as I had a lot to do, I told Bri that I was calling it a day to run some errands. "Alright, boss if we need you I'll be sure to give your cell phone a ring, seeya." She replied.

With that I pulled out my truck keys then walked out the private garage out back. From there I went to the nearest clothing store to purchase some dress clothes. Next I searched for a restaurant that was fancy but, wasn't overly expensive. As the afternoon wore on into the late evening hours I showered and shaved. I was a bundle of nerves by the time I got dressed and left my home to pick her up.

While on route I stopped by a florist and purchased some pretty flowers. I followed the mystery wolfess' advice which helped me settle my jumpy nerves. By the time I pulled out in front of her place I was about fifteen minutes early. Taking a slow but, deep breath I cut the ignition then calmly exited the GTO. As I walked up towards the porch the lights flashed on due to the motion sensor.

My hands couldn't stop shaking as I reached up and pushed the door bell. Kate peeked out of the window nearby then walked over and opened the door. "You're early color me impressed though your tie is over doing it some, Logan. Give me a few minutes to make myself presentable and to put these in some water." She smiled. With that she took the flowers from me and quietly left the room to get ready.

I paced around the living room for a good ten minutes until I heard footsteps. As Kate stood in the doorway wearing a lovely dress and matching heels. The look that came to my face pleased her as this smile appeared on her muzzle. "Judging from that look I'd say this little number has done it's job very well." She smiled. Giving the canine a soft nod she approached then hooked her arm around mine.

From there I escorted the lovely anthro out to my car parked on the street. Opening passenger door first then helped Kate into her seat before closing it. Next I walked around the front then climbed behind the wheel of my muscle car. Turning the ignition as the engine came to life, next I shifted into gear and drove off. The restaurants on the other side of town and it'll take about thirty minutes to arrive.

In-between now and then I had to find something we could talk about together. Sadly my mind drew a complete blank lucky for me she had things under control. Kate heard through the grape vine about my business and wanted to know more. Of course I was happy to answer all her questions that wouldn't get me into trouble. When she asked a question I feared would come up I told that I couldn't go into detail.

Naturally she called me on it though I was quick to tell her why I couldn't. The look on my face when she turned to face me stated that it's a touchy matter. Wisely she let the topic drop and moved onto something more personal instead. Answering more of her questions while asking some myself helped the time pass. For two different souls and species it was kinda strange to have plenty in common.

Thirty minutes later we arrived at the restaurant and pulled into a space nearby. From there we exited the car, locked the doors then took our time walking inside. The host asked for the name on the reservation then escorted us to our private table. He placed a pair of menus before us then left us to decide on what we wanted. Kate's tail twitched side to side unsure as to what she should order off the menu.

I've been to this place a couple times so I offered her a couple of suggestions. With a smile she looked at the meals I suggested which helped her settle down. The sounds of footsteps alerted her highly tuned ears as they swiveled around. "Good evening is there anything you'd like to drink or are you ready to order?" The waitress asked. We gave the feline waitress our orders, once she finished the feline excused herself.

As we waited I lost most of my ability to speak, she looked so beautiful. When she noticed I wasn't paying attention to what she was talking about. Slipping her foot out of her shoe then reached over and caressed my leg. Upon feeling her semi cold pad against my calf I jumped and looked right at her. Only to see a slightly sour look written all over her face telling me she wasn't happy.

"Sorry, Kate I don't get out much you see this the first date I've ever been on. Doubly so with such a lovely anthro woman like yourself so please forgive me. I'm learning everything as I'm going along and trying not to make an ass of myself." I stated. As I lowered my gaze from hers then wisely turned away from her gaze. Kate was quiet for a moment before she calmly leaned forward in her seat then spoke.

"Logan, I already knew that though you're being rather hard on yourself. Dating in general isn't an exact science mistakes are just a tiny part of the game. What you need to do is relax and act like there's nothing else going on around you. Though pay your guest plenty of attention or this night will end rather abruptly." She replied. When I heard that last sentence it reminded me of the advice I received earlier today.

"Wanna laugh I got the same kind of advice from a very lovely white wolfess." I said. Kate went from calm to shocked in a short amount of time before she replied. What worried me was the shakiness in her voice when she asked me this question. "D-D-Did this wolfess have waist long black hair and four folded golden wings?" She asked. When I confirmed every thing Kate asked her face became even more surprised.

Reaching over I took her hand into mine and squeezed it hoping to calm her. She squeezed back then informed me that I had an encounter with Lady Varana. A wolfess of mystical origin that's said to offer guidance to people that are lost. Sadly nobody but, those she's helped have claimed to see this legendary wolfess. Sadly the rest of the info about Lady Varana are scattered rumors or false whispers.

"No offense Kate this topic is really ruining what's suppose to be a fun night." I replied. With that we talked about other things until our waitress arrived with our food. As she placed Kate's down first then mine before excusing herself once more. We ate in peace though between bites we continued talking about ourselves. When our waitress returned thirty minutes later wondering if we wanted dessert.

I declined dessert and when I looked at Kate this soft look in her eyes appeared. Telling me she had other ideas for dessert so I asked our waitress for the bill. Our waitress bowed then walked away to go retrieve tonight's bill from the cashier. A couple minutes later she returned handed me the receipt then said goodbye. Getting up out of my chair then I walked over and politely helped Kate to her feet.

Leaving a tip for our waitress on the table, before walking towards the register. Once there I paid the bill then escorted my date back out to the parking lot. As my car pulled out onto the road I left what we did next up to Kate to decide. When we pulled up to an intersection she asked me if there were any good movies. While waiting for the red light to change I searched my memory for any still playing.

Sadly I only knew of a few and to make things worse I already seen them. As I shared that information, she folded her arms then looked down at the floor. "I see well since there's no point going, even though you wouldn't spoil it for me. Perhaps we should go back to my place and find something constructive there." She said. Now I heard her correctly but, that still didn't stop me from looking at her in shock.

"*giggles.* What's the matter Logan, canine got your tongue or what?" She asked. Shaking myself silly making her laugh then she reached over and grabbed my hand. The soft smile on her face told me she was only playing and didn't mean any harm. "I've got a huge collection of movies at home I'm sure we can find something." She replied. Thinking it over for a moment I decided why not and drove back to her place.

Thirty minutes later my car parked near the sidewalk outside her apartment. Before I could cut the ignition Kate exited the car and stepped onto the sidewalk. Locking the door while she turned around and closed the door with a hip check. As the heavy door thunked closed, I shut the motor off then followed after her. Quickly arming the security alarm and locking the door also I rushed to catch up with Kate.

Once I was at the top of the small stair case she just unlocked her front door. She turned to the left into the parlor where she turned on a couple of lamps. From there she left the parlor and walked into the kitchen so I looked around. Her home's decor truly reflected Kate's personality it's colorful yet, laid back. By the time she returned I was looking at a few pictures on a tall wooden cabinet.

Kate didn't say anything she merely watched from the doorway until I noticed. When I turned to the left Kate stood there holding two glasses of red wine. She smiled then approached and offered me a glass which I politely declined. With a shrug she walked back into the kitchen to put my glass away in the fridge. By this time I found her collection of movies against the far wall near the large TV.

Now I've got a decent collection myself but, there were a lot I didn't own. Kate's assorted was mind blowing a lot of the movies she had I've never seen. I picked out a few in the hopes she hasn't seen them and took a seat on her couch. She returned a short time later and joined me on the couch so I handed her the DVD. "Oh, Cool I've been meaning to watch this one for a while now." She smiled standing back up.

With that she got the TV and DVD player running before sitting back down. As the opening previews played Kate moved closer and leaned against my shoulder. When the movie's main menu finally appeared she pushed play on the remote. Placing the remote within arms reach on the couch then she repositioned herself. Nuzzling gingerly under my chin as the movie's intro began taking us into the story.

My arm slowly began to fall asleep so I carefully moved it up and around. Resting my hand upon her side just above the hip making her look up at me. Kate didn't say anything as she shuffled herself a bit closer to me and kept watching. Taking that as a sign not to move my hand any further north or south of her flank. Of course the urge to tickle her was short lived as well with a placed poke to my stomach.

The movie was building up to the climax slowly just to keep viewers glued. In a movie like this there's always a scene of brief yet, deep romance between actors. Personally I can't stand to watch them considering it's not portrayed as real. Kate was quick to notice my lack of interest when that part of the movie played. "Everything alright?...Oh, let me guess you're not fond of this kind of scene?" She asked.

Without saying a word on my part I gave her nose a playful tap and chuckled. Saying that she hit the issue right on the button which made her laugh as well. Before I knew what happened something softly touched my thigh then moved. If she hadn't been hugging my left side I would've launched off the couch. Ten to one ended up on the floor directly behind where we're currently sitting.

I still flinched enough in my seat to make the hostess laugh richly in response. Fortunately the movie's intimate scene ended and was about to reach the climax. That's when Kate sat up, leaned forward and grabbed the remote off the table. She pressed the pause button then turned to the right facing me with curiosity. Judging from the look on her face she noticed there was more to my brief lack of interest.
