Yet another fanfic. Oh well. Based on Pokémon Black and White.

Enter G!

The sight and smell of the ocean did wonders to calm G Stewart as he leaned against the railing of the boat. In about an hour, the ship he was on would dock at Nuvema, a small and modest port-side town in the Unova region, and he would get to start another adventure. G sensed someone come up beside him.

[Are we close to Nuvema?]

G smiled as he turned to look at the shiny Lucario standing next to him. "Yeah, just another hour Lucian," he replied. "One more hour, and then we are off this boat."

"Hey you!"

G and Lucian turned their heads to look at a young girl, a Zigzagoon standing next to her. "I challenge you to a battle!" she declared, pointing a finger at him, her Pokemon saying something along the same lines.

G turned to look back at the ocean. "No," he said simply. The girl was taken aback.

"What? But official League rules state-"

"Look, I know the regs," G stated. "However, I really doubt that your Zigzagoon will be much of a challenge, and plus, you're supposed to learn from your battles. Which, personally, doesn't work well when it's one sided."

The girl's face was going red. "Why are you so dead set against fighting me?" she yelled. "Are you that much of a coward?" G slowly turned his head, glaring lightly at her.

"How many badges do you have, and from where?" he asked her coolly.

The girl smirked as she flashed him the badge from Roxanne's gym in Rustburo. G sighed. "Yeah, kid, you're screwed if you try to fight me," he told her, as he showed her the complete sets from Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, along with the first four badges from the Kalos region. "Took me two years, but I did it. Trust me, for you, Brawly is going to be a pain in the ass for you."

The girl simply fumed at him as G and Lucian walked away from the rails. [Okay, what's the real reason you won't fight her?] Lucian asked.

"One, you're kind of the only 'mon I have, and two, Serena isn't feeling too good. Seasickness and all," G answered.

[So why did you bring her along?]

G smirked as he and Lucian entered the ship. "Because I like screwing with people," he said happily. Lucian sighed.

[That you do on a daily basis,] he commented. [In fact, I have yet to see you treat anyone with any healthy amount of respect.]

"Hey, I do treat people with respect," G said as he stopped to let a crewman pass him. "I just give people the amount of respect they deserve at the current moment." Lucian groaned.

[And you wonder why some people don't like you.]

"Not really. Anyhow, I'm heading to the mess, want anything?" Lucian shook his head.

[No, I shall be in our cabin,] he stated. G shrugged.

"More for me then. Anyway, see you later," G said as he walked off to the ship's cafeteria. Lucian sighed as he walked into the cabin, where he heard moaning coming from the restroom.

[Serena, we've got an hour until we're on dry land,] the Lucario said to the individual in the restroom.

[Good,] replied a feminine voice, [I don't know if I can handle this much longer.] Lucian grunted as he went and sat on the bed, closing his eyes to meditate. A few minutes later, he felt Serena make her way next to him. [Lucian, I know we've been travelling a long time, but....how did that happen?]

Lucian cracked an eye as he glanced over at the Delphox next to him. [What do you mean?] he asked her. Serena pointed to the right side of his head. Lucian reached up, and felt what she was talking about. [That? Well, it's a long story.]

[Well, seeing as our trainer is gorging himself, I'd say you have time to tell me that story,] Serena said, sitting down on the bed next to Lucian, towering over him.

Lucian let out a breath and closed his eyes. [Where to begin...] he said. [Well, I guess a little background is called for. You see, I came from the Kanto Region, near Cameran Palace. And, well, to be frank, I didn't exactly have the best childhood.....]

Years Ago

A young golden furred Riolu stood at attention as his father paced in front of him, his mother behind him, and a single human behind his father, watching impassively. And if there was anything that four month old Lucian, of the Steelpaw line of Lucario had learned, was that his father never paced unless he was furious, and couldn't yet find a way to vent that frustration.

[Do you know why you are here?] his father asked finally, his voice amplified by Aura so that the human could hear him. Lucian shook his head. [You are here, because I have decided to...let you try to become a Guardian of Cameran.]

Lucian couldn't believe his ears. His father wanted him to become a Guardian? That was amazing! Then the entirety of what his father said hit him.

[T-Try, Father?] Lucian asked meekly.

[Yes, try,] Lucian's father said coldly. [You will try to go through the Guardian Entrance Exam. You have one month.] Lucian's head bobbed up and down. [Good. You can leave now,] his father said, turning to look at the human. Lucian beamed as he whirled around and left the room, his mother urging him to stay close to the building they were in.

Lucian didn't really listen. He was going to become a Guardian! And once he was, maybe his father would actually be proud of him. Skipping along, still high on cloud nine, Lucian was a few blocks away when he slammed into a wall. Looking up, Lucian saw a pack of Riolu, each of whom were bigger than he was, led by his biggest tormentor; Oberon.

[Well well, if it isn't little Lucian,] Oberon growled darkly. [What are you doing here, worthless?]

Lucian shook as he answered. [I'm going to be a Guardian,] he told Oberon. Oberon gave him a blank look, and then laughed.

[You? A Guardian? Arceus above, that's a joke!] Oberon said, his cronies blocking Lucian's chances of escaping. [You would just embarrass your bloodline in front of the whole kingdom!]

[You don't know that!] Lucian cried out, assuming a fighting stance. Seconds later, he was pummeled to the ground by the other three Riolu.

[Don't you get it? You're just a mistake,] Oberon said as he stood over Lucian, stepping lightly on his throat.

Present Day

Serena looked at Lucian, shocked. [You were bullied like that?] she asked, horrified. [But, why?]

Lucian looked at her. [Well, for starters, I don't exactly look like a normal Lucario now, do I?] he said, chuckling. And it was true. His golden-yellow fur was a far cry from the usual light cobalt blue coloration of his species.

[But that couldn't have been the only reason!] Serena exclaimed.

[And you'd be right. You see, back then, I...well, I didn't exactly have great sense of justice, or courage,] Lucian told her. [I was actually very shy.]

Serena gave him a look. [You? Shy? That's unusual. So, how did you meet G?]

Lucian smirked to himself.

Years Ago

I feel something wrong. My host is trouble, that much I know. It's been weird, existing in a Pokemon's head for four months, but I think my sanity is still intact. I edge my way into my host's consciousness.

Oh. Great. We're being choked by another Riolu. Judging from where his foot is, my host can't cry out. My host is panicking, he doesn't know what to do. So, I take control.

Lucian was trying not to die when he felt all control of his body become severed. His mouth moved, and the words that came out scared him.

[Assuming direct control.]

In a flash, Lucian's paw slammed into the side of Oberon's leg. Oberon began to topple, when Lucian's other paw lashed out and punched him away. In mid-air. The others were surprised as Lucian got up. Shaking their shock away, the cronies decided to gang up on him. Lucian was still able to see what happened. The first of four came in, swinging a wild punch. His body leaned out of the way, and grabbed the paw. He twisted and threw Goon #1 into a wall. At the same time, his body went and kicked the second in the gut, sending him flying. The other two looked at each other, nodded, and then charged at the same time.

Lucian felt himself smirk as he kicked the edge of a garbage can lid, and began using that as a shield from their punches. Three punches later, his body whirled around, and smacked the Riolu on the left across the head, sending a tooth flying. The last Riolu backed away, wary. Lucian felt himself settle into a fighting stance. His body beckoned the last Riolu to fight him.

The last Riolu fled.

Lucian suddenly regained control of his body and stumbled, just as his parents rounded the corner and saw him. [LUCIAN!] his father growled. [What happened here?]

Lucian gulped. [Father, it was nothing,] he whimpered. [Oberon and his friends were just being mean to me, and I fought back.]

Lucian's father looked at the sprawled Riolu around his son. [You can do this... and yet when I tell you to fight, you freeze. Why?]

[Perhaps, Tybalt, it is because you frighten him too much,] Lucian's mother said. Tybalt looked at his mate, and then back to his son.

[If that is the case...then it would be wise then, for him to be trained by someone other than me then,] Tybalt stated as he led his child out of the alley. Lucian looked up at his father, surprised.

Present Day

[Your body was taken over? By what?] Serena asked, confused. Lucian chuckled.

[Not what. Who.]

G was currently eating a plate heaped with waffles, toast, several slices of meat, of which G REALLY didn't want to know the origins of, and several types of fruit. All of which was being washed down with a glass of cherry soda.

As it was, G was getting ready to grab another plate for Lucian and Serena when he saw that girl from before enter the room. With a rather large guy, his shirt saying he was with the International Pokemon League. "Well shit," G mumbled as the two came up to him.

"Sir, are you G Stewart, from Rota?" the official asked. G shrugged.

"Dunno. How many are here on this boat with that name?"

The official grunted. "Sir, thirty minutes ago, you were on the deck when this young lady asked you for a Pokemon battle. Witnesses state that you refused. Can you tell me why?"

G looked at the girl, who was still scowling at him. "Sure. It's because I have a level sixty Lucario and a level forty Delphox, both of whom are fully capable of wiping the floor with her at least level fifteen Zigzagoon. Yes, I am aware of the rules, however, I also believe that you should be responsible in who you battle."

The official looked down into a pad of paper, and then at the girl. "Miss, Mr. Stewart here is in the right. According to the by-laws, a sufficiently advanced trainer may decline a challenge, so long as it is for a reasonable cause."

"Wha-? But he!-" the girl blubbered, trying to keep her anger in check. G simply shrugged casually as he nodded to the official.

"Thanks," he told the official.

"Don't mention it," replied the guard. "So, are the stories true?" G tilted his head. "You know, the stories that you can command any Pokemon with only your mind!"

G laughed, flashing a set of mostly white teeth. "Oh no, I'm not psychic, if that's what the stories imply!" he told the official. "I just trust that my friends will do what they think is right. Anyway, if that is all, I'll be leaving now." The official waved him away as the girl started fuming some more.

After G had arrived back at the room, Lucian and Serena both nibbled on what their trainer had brought in for them to eat. "So, you guys talk about anything?" he asked them.

[Lucian was telling me about he met you actually,] Serena stated after biting into an apple. [But one thing confuses me. Where exactly where you?]

G and Lucian glanced at each other, and in that second, Serena knew that an entire conversation had somehow passed.

"Well, you see, I... well, I didn't quite have a physical form at the time," G admitted.

Serena bolted upright. [You were a ghost?!]

G slapped his hand onto his face. "Dammit, why does everyone assume I was a ghost?" he mumbled. "I was simply in residence in Lucian's head, that was it!"

Serena looked at Lucian. [Long story I started,] he commented. [But no, I don't think he was a ghost. He's not crazy enough or depressed enough to qualify.]

"Hey!"

[So, where did you come from?] Serena asked, exasperated. G smiled.

"...well, I came from a dimension in which Pokemon didn't exist. Other than that...no clue," G said, shrugging. "Memory comes and goes. I can remember specific instances, but that's about it. But hey, we're about to dock!" he added, pointing out the window. The two Pokemon looked, not minding the sudden and obvious change of subject.

G simply smiled sadly. He remembered part of his past life. He also knew something about what was soon going to happen in Unova. And frankly, he wasn't looking forward to it.

Dex Entry

G - G is a young, possibly eighteen year old human male. Lean, and with brown hair, he has taken part in the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn Pokemon Leagues, and has won the Hoenn League. His latest trip was to Kalos, where he has acquired half of the regional Gym Badges. Pokemon he is known to use are Lucario, Delphox, Sceptile, Breloom, Swellow, Charizard, and unusually, he has also raised an Arcanine, Wailmer, and a Magikarp, now a Gyrados.

His typical battle style is to be on the offense, all the way. However, that isn't to say his Pokemon are defenseless. Even the few Pokemon he has that are known to be glass cannon species are remarkably resilient. Many of the moves used by his Pokemon are balanced between power, range, and times a Pokemon can use said move. Also, G prefers to strike fast and hard, relentlessly. However, he does know the value of type advantages, and will use them to his advantage whenever - and however - possible.

Pokemon on Hand:

Lucian, Male Lucario, Level 60

Serena, Female Delphox, Level 40
