(There will be extreme, you have been warned.)

David and Sarah came out of the Pentagon. They came out with a few less bullets and a few more supplies. They were out here and had no way of traveling long distances without walking, but there wasn't enough food for both of them for that. For David alone, maybe, but he didn't want Sarah to be captured and killed by someone. He knew that she could save someone, but it would cost her, the cost was her life. "Looks like we have to head deeper into the city in order to survive," he told her. She was still coiled around his neck. She looked around every so often, probably because she was stuck in that cage for most of her life.

She was amazed at what the humans built and she didn't know it. All she knew was pain, and that small area she was allowed to be in. She still wondered why the humans she and David met always looked bloody and ran towards them like they were going to eat them. David shot them all with the weapon he had. Then David walked over to them and took what seemed useful to him. She always looked back to see if they would come back to life. None of them ever did. She and David were walking towards a white building. It was tall, very tall to her, but David didn't look impressed and walked in with her.

"This place is a mess!" David said. Sarah and him walked into an apartment building. The furniture was torn, beat-up, and destroyed. Alot of bits and pieces of many different items were littered all around the floor. Even with that, it didn't stop David from searching in the many apartments.

In the the third room she and David checked, she made a slight hissing noise and slid off his neck. David didn't notice since he was going through a pile of rubble. She smelled meat and it wasn't coming from David's thing. She slid over to a white thing that was about half her size. The smell was coming from inside of it. She saw a sliver thing jutting from its front that was out enough to use her tail to pull on it. So she hooked her tail on it and pulled. The white thing opened with a pop and it caught David's attention.

David looked over his shoulder expecting Sarah to be in the way, but she was over by a fridge with her head inside. "What are you doing?" he asked. She looked back and hissed beckoning him with her tail. So he came over and looked inside the fridge to find it had steak, juice, and cake in it. "Nice job! Now we can survive a little longer!" He looked around and found some plastic bags. He put the cake in one of the bags, then the steak in another. He hung the juice on the side of his bag with a clip he found. As he was doing that, Sarah was settling back into her usual spot on his shoulders. She hissed with glee in his ear. He gave her a pet and said, "you're a big help."

She was sliding along his shoulders when he opened his thing on his back. She pointed at it with her tail trying to ask what it was. David noticed and asked, "you want to know what that is?" She nodded her head in reply. David then said, "its called a backpack. I use it to carry around stuff I find without holding it in my hands." She understood the concept. It was basically, why use her tail to carry stuff when she could use something to carry more on her back.

They went to check more rooms on the upper floors. They were checking the first room on the second floor, when she smelled another smell. It smelled like what David's weapon smelled like. She thought that they might need it. So she slithered off his shoulders once more while he was checking another white thing. She followed the smell to a container with some sort of clear material that allowed her to see in.

David was gathering a few bottles of water when he heard Sarah hiss again. It was like the hiss when she found the food. He found her in the bedroom looking at a cabinet. He walked over to where she was standing and followed her gaze. He thought he was the luckiest man alive since he found her. Inside the cabinet was a M16 burst fire rifle with a silencer and five spare clips. He tried opening the cabinet to find it was locked. Sarah looked at him like she was saying, "go on, open it!"

"Why isn't he opening it?" then she thought that it might be like how she couldn't exit through the part of her cage that would open for the humans. So she averted her gaze. Then she looked back to see he wasn't there any more. She looked around and found him near another container. He was searching through it and then he pulled out something that looked like the thing that opened her cage.

"Yes! I found it!" David said. He walked over to the gun cabinet and tried the key he found. The cabinet opened like it was nothing. He put the pistol on safety, shoved it in his pocket, and grabbed the rifle. It had a shoulder sling on it, he knew that would annoy Sarah, and he could easily put the silencer on the barrel. So he grabbed the spare clips and screwed on the silencer.

Sarah watched him put a tube on the weapon she found and twisted it. She wonder what it was for. So she used her tail to point at it. David got the message and she heard him say,"That's called a silencer, it makes it so people can't hear it that well." She didn't get it so she gave him a confused looked. He saw her look, and pointed the gun out the window. She heard faint noises coming from the weapon. It sounded like the smaller weapon, but much fainter. He backed away and wave his hand towards the window. So she looked out and saw one how the weird humans dead.

David saw Sarah's eyes light up with surprise, and he smiled. He was starting to like the way she looked in sunlight. How it removed her glow and made her scales shine with a light purple. He shook off the feeling when she looked back. He then saw a confused look on her face then she turned away. "We should get moving," he said to her. Then he walked out of the apartment. He waited in the hall until she slithered out and wrapped around his neck like normal. "Let's go," then he walked down stairs and out of the apartment.
