#7 of DSIU: Dragon Soldier Infantry Unit

Finally! After a long wait and lots more editing and proofreading. Not to mention the transcribing :3 I am finally ready to unveil the next chapter to my DSIU story series. For those that would like to have some murrfully good fun between Aedial and Fraolith, we are almost there. I like to get a good deal of plot building before I get into the "dirty" business chuckles As usual comments and constructive criticism is always welcome. Now without further delay....

Fraolith and Aedial walked side by side in the rapidly emptying hallways, their hands clasped tightly together in a loving embrace. Fraolith was the first to speak in the growing silence, all of the underclassmen having either left the rec center and returned to their homes, or went outside to catch some personal flight time. "I hope that my parents made their special recipe marinade. I only get that treat once a week. They used to do it every day, until I ate all their steak reserves in about three days." He giggled at the memory that flashed through his head, him gobbling up porterhouse and sirloin steaks. The total damage count ended up coming to twenty three steaks in about three days of dinners.

Aedial responded with a chuckle followed by a pat to Fraolith's right shoulder, "It's that good then? I can't wait to try them to see if they live up to your words reputation. So how do you think you fared on your first impression that you gave Asto? Do you think we made it into his squadron together?" Aedial squeezed Fraolith's paw in a tender manor, and Fraolith returned the gesture, adding a caress to his mates palm with clawed thumb.

"I don't know Aedial, I guess that we will just have to see what happens. Although I truly hope that I did a good job and what I desire comes to pass." Fraolith looked at his mate and licked his cheek lovingly, nuzzling his neck thereafter. They walked down the halls in silence for a while, only the sound of talons clicking on the hard cement floor echoing through the halls as they walked.

As they made their way towards Fraolith's residence, they found their pace quickening with each passing stride, their rumbling stomachs growling hungrily as the smells of cooking meat began to assail their nostrils. They were almost to Fraolith's residence, his tongue snaking out to taste the air, confirming that just as Fraolith suspected they had made their special marinated T-bone steak, probably because Fraolith had graduated earlier that same day.

As Fraolith entered the pass code "7297" into the code lock, the door whooshed open and there was Mirvanda cooking at the stove, David sitting at the table, and unexpectedly, General Astorathen standing against the island that stood in the center of the kitchen. Fraolith and Aedial simply stood there, maws hanging agape at the sight.

Asto smiled and walked over to the two dragons and pushed there maws up and closed them simultaneously, before stating, "Now is that a way to greet a guest in a house, standing there with you maws hanging open? Not even a hello? I should shove a steak in one of them and see what happens." He laughed heartily as they still stood dumbfounded at the sight of the General standing there in Fraolith's residence.

Aedial and Fraolith both shook their heads, clearing them from the stupor that they found themselves in, Aedial taking the first approach this time by stating, "My apologies General Astorathen, it just is a surprise to us both that you would be here at this hour of the evening, my kindest greetings. How are you doing?" Aedial bowed at the General in one fluid motion.

Asto bowed back, at the statement and the gesture, appearing humble and modest in his motions. He replied, "Please, call me Asto for now, for I am just a guest here tonight, my rank and class do not matter. I heard that Mirvanda has a delicious marinated steak, one of the best in this facility. So I had to come and find out. Plus my nose couldn't lie, not when it comes to a nice red steak." He sniffed the air and sighed, his own stomach growling loudly at the smells that filled the air.

Fraolith looked over at Mirvanda, and gave him a kiss and a hug, asking, "Are you sure there is going to be enough left for you guys? I mean there are now three hungry dragons in the house, and I can attest that your marinated meals are the best. I hope you guys have something else planned." He tilted his head and licked his stepfather on the cheek, and Mirvanda placed a hand on Fraolith's paw.

He simply smiled and replied with a nod, "I made enough for you three. David and I are going to be eating the leftovers from last night. My famous fried cabbage and squash with peppers and ground beef."

Fraolith nodded an acknowledgement, followed by a kind reply, "Alright, as long as you have something to eat." He then turned his gaze to Asto, and inquired as to the reason of the visit. He was sure that it wasn't just to eat a couple of Mirvanda's famous steaks. "So what is the real reason that we owe this visit from you, Asto? I find it odd that the graduation ceremony was today, and that Mirvanda has been making this marinated steak for a while, and we have never had you as a guest until today?"

Asto chuckled and sat at the table, musing over his paws. He looked up and smiled a coy grin, before he replied quite bluntly, "You are a very skilled dragon in combat, I have pulled the recreation center's fighting ring history, and what I see impresses me, and I am not that easily impressed. Not at all, and Aedial has the same effect as well, though he needs more fine tuning on his defense. But for now, I am starving, as I feel you two are as well. How about we eat, and then discuss the rest afterwards."

Fraolith and Aedial nodded their agreement and sat down at the table. Soon idle chatter filled it as the steaks were cooking, the scents filling the room and causing all three dragons to lift their heads and snake out their tongues to taste what was in store. Mirvanda and David laughed at the sight, then made the three plates of protein rich food and set it in front of the hungry dragon bloods. They said a prayer, and then ravenously dug into their meals.

After their meals were finished, the three dragons cleaned up from dinner, all three pitching in to get the job done. It actually surprised Mirvandi and David at how well Asto knew his way around the kitchen. While Aedial washed the dishes, Fraolith dried them and put them in their proper places. Every once in a while, Fraolith would sneak up behind Aedial, giving soft gropes to his thighs and ass in playful fun. It was only a hint at what would be on the agenda for later that evening.

Asto on the other hand wiped up the mess on the counters and stovetop area, making sure that he could see himself in the shiney metallic surface of the stove. The marble counters began to gleam in the artificial lighting, and then smiled as he stared at the emerald reflection looking back at him. He took a glance over to the two dragons and chuckled as he watched a subtle grope from Fraolith once more, lingering on the base of Aedials tail before he resumed his task. He shook his head and then began to muse idly to himself.

As he worked, he thought to himself, Those two are going to be a fun addition to the ranks of my squadron, I just hope that they can keep their youthful urges in check during basic, or else they will be humiliated just like the rest of those who I have broken. He chuckled and shook his maw again, I have no doubts that their skills will be quite remarkable when they recieve their basic military training. I just hope that they have the resolve to use those skills.

He was startled away from his thoughts as he heard the water start to empty from the sink, which meant that the two were finished with the dishes. Took them long enough, He thought to himself as he turned to face the two dragons. "Are you two done now? I was waiting for about five minutes."

Aedial and Fraolith bowed their heads in apology, before looking up and nodding their confirmation. Asto then said, "Then I think you should take these, they will give you your instructions on where to go from here. You probably could open them tomorrow though, I guess you two will be bunkmates in my squadron, it what you wanted right?"

The two dragons looked happily at each other and hugged each other tightly, before reaching out and taking the envelopes from the greens hand. Fraolith responded, "I... I guess that means that we are...?" Fraolith paused and then looked over at Aedial, smiling widely from ear to ear.

"I will see you in a few weeks then, the process takes about that long usually to get all the testing done. I hope to see you both well and strong when the time comes. I do believe that you two will need it." Astorathen snapped a firm salute in the direction of Fraolith and Aedial, which they both returned in unison.

Fraolith was the first to speak, "Thank you, General Astorathen. We will be honored to seve with and under your legendary command." He blinked and then slapped his paw to his face realizing the pure stupidity of what he had just said to the general.

Aedial smiled and nuzzled his boyfriend softly, sliding his paw around and clasping Fraolith's, caressing the underside of his palm with his thumb. He then added, "I thank you General, you don't know how much we appreciate this gesture. I think we'll open them in the morning. Fraolith and I are going to have to sit down and talk about what we are..." He paused and gave Fraolith a lick to his cheek, then finished his prior statement, "What we are getting ourselves into."

Astorathen nodded and replied "Well it was a pleasure meeting you both, as well as getting to know the two humans that helped raise a fine dragon blood that lost his way. And might I add that fate dropped you here on our doorstep Fraolith."

He patted Fraolith on the shoulder and bluntly added, "And what you did earlier, was very cute indeed, and I think that Aedial here would most definately agree with me on that fact."

Aedial's response was a simple chuckle, followed by a nod directed in Fraolith's direction. He gave him a kiss and nuzzled against Fraolith gently, feeling the warmth flood his cheeks as Fraolith blushed brightly.

"Well then, a fond farewell, and I will see you in about two weeks then. Be well; oh and be sure to open your recruitment letters first thing in the morning when you wake. Have a wonderful evening you two." He winked at them and then walked out the doorway, the whoosh of compressed air sounding as the steel door slid open, and then a whoosh and ker-chunk as it closed and locked behind him.

Fraolith looked at Aedial and asked, "Am I really that cute?" He tilted his head in a curious inquiry.

Aedial chuckled and kissed Fraolith again and whipered in Fraolith's ear, "More than you know, Quicksilver, more than you know. And way much more than you give yourself credit for." He hugged Fraolith closely, and then took his hand.

Fraolith grabbed the letters from the table as they made their way to the common room and started up a game console, grabbed a pair of controllers, and began to game.
