Wandering through the woodlands the female canine swished her tail from side to side, as she made her way down the path from her house, the grey fur on her face shining in the moon as she looked up at the clear night sky. The moon was out. She often made the decision to go outside and admire the world at night as felt most content when surrounded by trees or other forms of nature; as she enjoyed the peace and quiet which she received from it, and also enjoyed the stillness it brought her. Flipping up the hood of her favourite green hoodie, she felt the crunching of the gravel path underneath her feet as she prepared to enter the woods. Making her way along the woodland trail and through the trees she soon came to her favourite place in the woods. A large, open plain sheltered amongst the trees, with a large Oak in the centre, split in two by a previous lightning strike. She inhaled deeply and exhaled with a loud sigh as she gazed out upon the land.

She was content. She was happy.

"Who goes there?" There came a sudden grumble from behind her. The canine froze immediately on the spot upon hearing the male voice, paws in her pockets with her tail hanging low to the ground. She shivered slightly from the soft, yet threatening tone of voice which spoke to her. "What are you here for?"

There was a pause.

A branch snapped behind her...

She panted softly and swallowed. Oh how she hoped it wouldn't end like this...

"I-I just came to look at the stars in the night's sky, sir!" She panted. The break in her voice evident and this made her even more nervous.

There was another pause, before the male responded.

"A stargazer?" the males tone of voice had changed. It was now soft and wispy. Quiet, yet soothing to the ear.

"Y-yes. S-sir." She nodded quickly, slowly wiping her paws on her wine coloured jeans.

"I see... Oh, thank goodness. Forgive me for being a little aggressive back there. But one cannot be too careful around here... What with all of the threats I receive..."

"W-why would anybody threaten you?" Beginning to calm down, she now felt sympathetic towards the male. Confused as to why anyone would want to hurt him.

Another branch snapped and she could hear the light padding of footsteps behind her, almost as if the figure was trying to hide his identity through the sound of his steps. Slowly turning her head and taking down her hood she saw the silhouette step out of the shadows and into the moonlight. It was a large male dragon. Black as the sky which surrounded them, large strong wings and a long tail, accompanied by many spikes flowing down his back.

"Y-you're a dragon" She gave a gasp in surprise as she saw the beast.

He lowered his head slightly upon hearing her reaction and slowly began to retreat back into the comfort of the split tree.

"No, no. It's okay. I promise I'm not going to hurt you. I think dragons are beautiful creatures. I study and admire them..."

The tall male gave a quiet murmur and came, once more, into the moonlight. His large leathery wings just missing the branches of the nearby trees, as he stepped out into the open, although, his face was still shielded by the dark.

"And do you like stargazing?" The female asked as she saw the male dragon turn his head to gaze up at the stars in the night's sky.

"Oh, but of course" The large reptile smiled, as he looked down upon the much smaller mammal "Many dragons have always had an interest in the stars. I personally have an interest in what life lies beyond them...As I am very keen to meet said beings." The dragon gave a nod and moved beside the female before he laid down on his stomach, crossing his forepaws over the other as he continued to stare up at the sky.

The young Wusky's ears perked up and a grin spread across her face "Me too! I mean... sometimes I just like to go outside and stare up at them. They make me feel contented and relaxed when I'm down and I feel just that little bit more connected with the Earth around me, ya know?" She lowered her ears slightly and cleared her throat, drawing little circles in the earth below with her converse. "S-sorry... That was kind of a stupid thing to say..."

The male turned his head to look down at the female "It's fine" he chuckled softly, before returning to his stargazing.

Seth smiled and slowly lowered herself onto the floor to sit upon the grass below, beside the dragon, curling her tail around her rump and crossing her legs, she gazed up into the clear night sky. The air was crisp and cooling, slightly sharp against her lungs- but in a refreshing manner. This chilling feeling was soon counteracted as she could feel a warmth spreading over her cheeks, as the dragon curled his tail around his newly found friend. Seth blushed even more upon feeling the heat radiating from his body. It was very dark, but she was able to see the moonlight shining off of the creature's black scales, she titled her head slightly to the right in order to marvel at her discovery.

"Beautiful" She whispered to herself. Unable to refrain herself from slowly reaching out with her right paw, although not touching the dragon, in case that sort of affection made him feel uncomfortable and she certainly didn't want to insult her new friend.

"Hmm?" The dragon briefly paused his stargazing to look down at Seth, shaking slightly as she was noticed by him.

"The moonlight against your scales it's just so very bea-" Seth paused, mesmerised by his large orange orbs, which seemed to stare into her very soul with ambiguity. She seemed to drift off into a world of her own. His eyes made all the more gorgeous by the glint of the moonlight reflecting off of his pupils.

The reptile gave another smile and slowly lowered his head down to her level, raising his chin slightly, enabling her to stroke the topside of his nose. Seth blushed bright red as her paw made contact with the dragon's soft and somewhat leathery skin. Even in the darkness of the woods the dragon could see her blushing. Giving another chuckle and a warm smile, he slowly pressed his cheek against hers and nuzzled her softly under the stars.

The female beamed happily and slowly wagged her tail

"Seth."

He gave a quiet rumble in response and nuzzled all the more

"Chalmrah"

They were content. They were happy.
