#7 of Problems of a Distraught Cub

Doctor's Log - Monday, July 12, 2058

Kayleb has made great headway. He has opened up some since I've started working with him. At least from what I can tell from the files and notes the old doctor had written about Kayleb. I am starting a full immersion program and Kayleb is one of six patients actively participating. I'd like to give them the choice, but they don't really have one. This immersion program with bring together a child in need with one of his or her own species. Kayleb's case is difficult to find a willing participant, let alone one of his own kind. This will get the children involved with an adult or two adults as parent figures to hopefully let them live a normal life and to let them know they're not alone, and hopefully they will stay with the adult and the adult will adopt the child.

The adults are of a specific kind, and it is completely their choice to keep or have the child taken away. They know of the minimum of 4 weeks with visits from me each week, one or more visits per. The child will be wearing a GPS anklet to keep the child from running away. If they get out of a certain range from the house or the adult, it will let out a shock that will temporarily paralyze the child. The adult will be wearing a receiver bracelet that allows the adult to take the child away from the house but keeping the child close to the adult. When a child get out of range either from house and/or adult, the receiver bracelet will give out a beep of alarm and make sure the adult is back in rand before the adult is allowed to turn the shock and alarm off.

I have gotten full permission from the state penitentiaries, local government, the higher ups of my workplace, and neighbors of the adult patient's houses. They were tough to obtain and were very reluctant to do such a thing they considered so 'wrong for a society' of today's age. They signed and the project is a GO. Kayleb is in great need for the program. He's not a bad kit, he only lost his way, and I feel this institution is one of the reasons aside from his so-called past that he harps to me but never goes into detail about. He won't talk about any of his past, he only says he's bad and he has a horrible one. Hopefully [patient name] will get Kayleb back on the right side of the tracks again.

Quick additional note - Wednesday, July 14, 2058

Kaleb has an adult patient now and his immersion will begin tomorrow. Every adult must show up at scheduled times and meet the child. They will not be taking the child home. I will be forced to drive them all to the respective adult patient's homes. I don't mind though since it will allow me a first home visit to scope out the place on my own instead of the inspector woman from the adoption agency and government that was required to inspect all the homes of the adults. If I hadn't done it, this program would be shot down before it begun. Tomorrow is the day for a new beginning for these kids. I'm glad I was able to get this program immediately after I started working here. The home visit is more of a precautionary, since the adults and law abiders know the rules of which are to be followed. This is something these children need.
