Hey everyone this is my first story so tell me what you think.

"The sooner we get off the sooner we go home" Nelson and Barnes looked to Captain Vien with nothing but boredom and laziness.

"Yes sir" They both got up off their asses and stretched.

Nelson has a very thin build at 6'4" with almost no muscle at all by appearance but he is a lot stronger then he looks with dark blond hair, blue eyes, and pale white skin. Barnes has a heavy build at 6'7" but not as grotesque as a body builder more natural with brown hair, green eyes, and almost red skin. Vien has a medium build barely reaching 6'0" with hair darker than coal, ash colored eyes, and always has slightly yellowish skin with a slight tan which in the end made him look normal.

They all had on standard military uniforms which were the lightly armored blaster proof top half made out of a certain metallic fiber with a metallic fiber blaster proof bottom half and of course the helmet with a night vision shield to protect the eyes except for Vien who had no helmet on to let anyone know that he's not afraid, he's the officer in charge, and cause it looks BA. They are also acquitted with standard rifle blasters (can also act as a light machine gun by the flip of a switch) that attach to their backs and only come off when grabbed by the owner. Of course a standard pistol blaster as there secondary weapon which is attached to there right in a secure metallic leather holster. A standard 7 inch knife hidden on the outside of which ever leg they choose.

"Lets go ladies" when Vien turned around and started walking out both of them rolled their eyes at him and followed him out of the ship and onto the unknown planet. After all 3 of them were off the ships ramp, they recoiled themselves and left at an unnatural speed. "alright we are here to make sure that there's nothing hostile on the planet so Earth can begin colonizing this world, now are there any questions?"

Barnes raises his hand "umm yeah captain isn't that the sensors job I mean they do a hell of a better job at pick up life signs than we do."

The Captain smirks "your right they do but theirs some kind of interference and we can't even pin point where it's coming from so it's probably something natural."

Barnes and Nelson look at Vien with worry "Ohhh."

"That's also our secondary objective is to find out whats causing the disturbance and destroy it if possible, now is there anymore questions?"

Nelson raises his hand "so this "interference" covers the entire planet?"

Vien looks at Nelson "you think it would but no, just certain parts like where we are now" both Barnes and Nelson nod "anymore questions?"

Both say simultaneously "no sir."

"Alright then lets move out" Barnes and Nelson follow close behind Vien. He looks at his watch and it says 18:17 (6:17) 'dam I hope I'm not right about this'.

As they were going to exit the clearing Nelson spots a trail "captain look...a path."

Vien looks back at Nelson with a raised brow and says to himself 'this is going to be a long day' then says "what?"

Nelson points to the left "over there to the left about 20 meters" Vien lowers his brow and looks to the left.

Vien looks over to the left and sure enough there's a path "Nice work and do you know how to use the American system?"

Nelson looks at Vien with a raised brow "Yes why?"

Vien sighs "Metric never really ripped me up."

With a confused smile Nelson looks toward the path again "ohh-kay."

Vien looks away a little embarrassed "Just use our system it's just easier fo....." a branch snaps to their right in the woods and they all pull theirs guns from their backs and point to the position of where the sound came from. Vien raises his right hand so it's parallel to his head and makes a fist signaling Nelson and Barnes to crotch like he is. More branch's start snapping and a 7'1" dark human like figure is running away then the noises start becoming more distant.

After the figure has vanished Barnes looks toward Vien immediately "Sir wh..."

"I don't know, but it was big and walked on 2 legs so that means were not alone out here" Vien got up and so did Nelson and Barnes.

Nelson pulls his pack off and starts looking for his long-rang communicator in his pack "I'm gonna call this in so we can get more men down here ASAP."

Vien chuckles "you can't, there's to much interference, even if the ship was right above us you couldn't get through, it jams all signals."

Nelson stops, looks up to the sky, and closes his eyes, and puts his hands over his face "oh sh@! that's right."

Barnes looks at Vien with shock "so how long are we stock out here exactly."

Vien sighs and looks at the both of them "1 month."

Both scream "WHAT!!!!!!"

Barnes face becomes red with rage "I was told no more than a day or 2."

Nelson pipes in "same here, and when were you going to tell us the truth CAPTAIN."

Vien sighs again a little hurt that he had done that "look I had orders not to tell you 2 this unless absolutely necessary."

With venom in Barnes voice "define necessary?"

Vien looks at Barnes "if we ran into trouble or came upon any creatures like that" pointing to where the creature was last seen.

Barnes narrows his eyes "if that's the case then why don't they just nuke this place or launch a massive invasion so that there's no hope for survival."

Vien looks to the ground "why don't I just tell you what happened here and then will fill in the blanks after...ok?"

Nelson said fine but Barnes just grunted.

"Earth discovered this planet 53 years ago in 3264, but we didn't use it for colonizing because there would be massive interference with communication and it would be to much of a problem so Earth used it for special forces training because the interference was good for training encase you got jammed by somebody, anyway there was about 50,000 soldiers that were stationed at the base. Now since there is interference they had to communicate physically and they were cautious enough at first not to venture out to far from base but after the bases first routine check up they said that there's nothing out there and that it was safe to explore, well when the next month came by, when earth went to check up on them they were all gone, but not with out a trace...."

By now both Barnes and Nelson were staring at Vien both wide eyed and they both said "what...what happened to them?"

Vien looked from the ground to both of them "there were thousands of laser blasts all over the ground and buildings and weapons were laying all over..."

Barnes asks "that's it nothing else."

Vien looks directly into Barnes eyes, narrows his own, and with a no emotion "and Blood, more blood then the soldiers there to check on them could take cause they spewed the last thing they ate in front of them...but there were no bodies."

"But you didn't answer Barnes question why didn't they blow them up or launch a massive invasion?"

Vien looks at Nelson then chuckles a little and shacks his head "when Earth looked at the way everything was set up it was obvious that our guys were waiting and had everything set up into defensive positions."

"so!!!!!"

Vien looked at Nelson with a stare that could kill "we lost 50 fu@!ing thousand soldiers and you want them to send more ha yeah that will make a difference, and besides who knows what could happen if we nuke this place, with all the 'interference' it could amplify the explosion 10 fold."

They both looked down "oh."

Vien turns around to calm down and rub his forehead with his right hand.

"Then why were we chosen to come here."

Vien stops rubbing his forehead and turns around "Corporal Nelson you were chosen for your superior scouting abilities the likes which I've never herd of and Sargent Barnes, you were chosen for that stunt you pulled off on hill 252 on the planet of Targen."

Barnes smiles "wow so that's why they chose me."

Vien smirked "actually Earth didn't choose you I did."

"Huh really so me running up that dam hill saving everyone is what got me sent to this hellhole...GREAT."

Vien rolls his eyes "you saved the entire regiment by doing that, but to bad the only side effect to your bravery is your hot head."

Nelsons snickers and says "hey I got some water we can poor over his 'hot head' to cool him off."

Barnes turns his head towards Nelson and narrows his eyes "don't start you little toothpick."

Nelson takes out his canteen and throws water at him from out of his canteen."

Barnes face turns red with rage "that's it toothpick your dead."

Vien turns around and shouts "HEY WHAT THE FU@! DO YOU 2 THINK YOUR DOING, it's bad enough there's something out there that can probably tare us to shreds and you 2 morons are fighting...or have you forgotten as soldiers we work as ONE not alone."

Barnes and Nelson turn away from each other, Nelson just turns his head toward Vien "well if were gonna die then why don't we go after it."

Vien looks at Nelson and grunts "I expected that from Barnes, I guess I misjudged you Corporal."

"You haven't seen nothing yet captain."

Vien tells both of them to follow him to the path and then they walk down it and as they walk they talk about the situation "do you guys know how far we are from the abandoned base."

Barnes turns his attention to Vien "no why."

Vien smirks "were on the other side of the world from that base."

Both Barnes and Nelson looked at Vien surprised "what why."

"Because they want to know if there's any of those things over here and if so is there hostility cultural...we already know there hostile near the base but we don't know anything about over here."

Nelson raises his brows in astonishment "we could use this intel to launch a sneak attack."

Vien looks at Nelson "that's already been proven impossible because we couldn't even get 3 men down here with out being spotted let alone an army and besides we don't even know how many there were that attacked the base, I mean it could have only been one that did that."

Barnes looks to Vien with that 'are you kidding me look' "yeah right 1 against 50,000 ha impossible."

Nelson looks to Barnes "actually there have been times in our history where so few have been up against so many and have won or barely lost."

Barnes looks at Nelson "yeah you said few, I said 1 there's a difference, at least you can have teamwork with a few."

Nelson smirks "it's still possible" after awhile walking "what time is it?"

Barnes whispers "it's shut the fu@! up time that's what time it is."

Nelson and Vien didn't hear it "it's 20:23 (8:23)."

Barnes looks at Vien "when does the sun set here cause I want to be in a nice big clearing when it does."

Nelson grins at Barnes "what...is the big hero of hill 252 scared."

Barnes grunts "yeah you wish, I need a lot of open space to let loose."

Nelson just chuckles "yeah the gun you use for fun."

Barnes whispers something under his breath then chuckles to himself.

Vien sighs "the sun sets just about when ours does give or take half an hour."

Barnes stops chuckling and looks at Vien "So doesn't that mean we should be heading back to make camp so we are prepared for a fight."

Vien stops and looks back at Barnes "what difference will it make they killed 50,000 prepared men so what makes you think they can't do it again to 3 prepared men." Vien turns and keeps walking through the path while Barnes just shakes his head and Nelson silently agrees with the Captain.

Nelson says to no one in particular "dam how muc...." Vien stops then Nelson and Barnes follow suit "what is it sir" Vien points to the cliff that the trail goes off of "umm what's the point of a trail if it leads to your death."

Barnes chuckles "how ironic cause were gonna die here in this god forsaken hellhole."

Vien turns his head back and gives Barnes a death glare and says in an almost inhumanly deep voice "WE ARE NOT GOING TO DIE HERE IS THAT UNDERSTOOD SARGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Barnes straightens up and salutes the Captain "sir yes sir" Vien turns around toward the cliff and walks over to the edge carefully and looks down.

Nelson gets closer "what do you see sir."

"About a 1000 foot drop into nothing but fore....ah........."

Well what do you think for my first chapter good, bad, or in between please leave questions, comments, or suggestions. If you want another chapter then you have to leave me some GOOD comments. I made some changes to this chapter but nothing significant, I like it the way it is, and I just made spelling corrections anyway.
