Demons Have No Feelings

Chapter 1. Hell on Earth

Heaven, Hell and the world of us humans, earth, in between.

Heaven, a place of eternal peace and happiness.

Hell, a bottomless pit of agony and never ending suffering.

And earth? Maybe it's a little bit of both.

Pain and pleasure, happiness and sorrow, hate and above everything, love. The one feeling that can overcome anything. They say, that not even death it self can kill love once it's made it's way to a human heart. But what if that love was not to strike a human?

"I do not care if the new souls are here! Make someone else take care of it! I'm defineatly not in the mood!" Shouted the seven feet tall, horned demon duke, Valafar, to his minions. He had thin, silky, reddish brown fur cover his entire toned upper body and his strong muscular legs were covered with a thicker layer of dark brown fur. His hooves were ivory black, shiny and they looked like he could easily crush a rock with them. His crotch was covered with a loose loincloth that was slightly torn from the end and it was held up by a heavy looking spiky black belt.

His lion mane was bright red and it was slightly tangled and curled. If the mane was moving in the wind, it would surely look like a burning red flame, the hair on the tip of his long, thick lion tail was also the same.

The horns were majestic, they resembled those of a large ram and they stood proudly above his ears, both of wich had three silver stud piercings on them. His eyes, however, they had the weirdest powerful stare in them. It felt like he could easily kill someone just by looking at them with those deep, blood red eyes. Perhaps he could?

It had been a most unplesant day down in the pits of oblivion, even though controlling ten legions of hell and being a duke with loads of responsibility was never that pleasant anyway.

"You'd think you'd be SERVED when you're a duke..." Valafar mumbled and sat down on his throne with bones and red jewels on it.

He tapped the the thrones arm with his fingers, his sharp long nails making small scratch marks on it.

"Perhaps it was time I got a little... Vacation." He tought outloud and rubbed his chin with his other hand. Perhaps he could find some human souls to torment up on earth, or tempt someone into becoming one of his fallen angels.

"Why is the lord disturbed..." Valafar suddenly heared a lush female voice from behind him. It was one of his succubi, this one called Belili.

Valafar rolled his eyes and huffed, making a large cloud of dust from in front of his muzzle.

Belili walked over to Valafar and sat on his lap while rubbing his chest temptingly.

"You seem so stressed out again~..." She babbled and pursed his lips while looking into Valafars eyes.

"Get... Off of me." Valafar stated plainly and turned to look away carelesly.

"Come on now, let me loosen you up a-"

"I SAID GET OFF!" Valafar roared, making Belili jump off of him and on to the dry sand with a horrified look on her face.

Valafar stared at him with a murderous look, but finally sighed and turned around.

"I am going upon earth..." He said without moving a muscle.

"T- To earth? But, but why?" Belili studdered and crawled a few inches forward.

"Because I want a little change... Perhaps I'll tempt some mortals." Valafar huffed and looked upwards with a grin on his face.

"B-but, who'll take care of things down here while you're gone?"

Valafar turned around and kneeled down to Belili, grabbing her chin gently.

"You can ask Murmur to take over my legions temporarily... I'm sure he can handle an extra ten..."

"A.... as you wish, Duke..." Belili muttered and crawled back while stumbling back on her feet.

"I'll be off then..." Valafar said plainly and stomped the ground blasting him self up, towards earth, the land of the living, leaving all of hell behind with a single stomp of his powerful leg.

"Good morning folks! It's ten AM and a BRIGHT sunny saturday mornin' a perfect day for a picnic or a nice trip to the beatch with a friend or two! Better not forget that sunblock or-"

"Gah! Shut up...!" Elijah growled and slammed his hand against the alarm radio on the bedside table.

He buried his face in his plump and soft pillow and let out a long and heavy sigh.

Elijah had never been a morning person, so he was sometimes a tad grumpy when he woke up.

He rolled over slowly on his back and stared at the ceiling when his cell phone suddenly beeped for a text message.

He picked the phone up and lifted it in front of his face. It was from his friend at school, Tanya.

"Good mornin Elly! :3 I'm sending you a message to tell you that I can't make it to the beach with you today, sorry. Something really important came up and I simply can't miss it! ;( Hopefully we'll be able to plan a visit to the beach next weekend! Kisses!"

Elijah was silent for a while before he let his arm slump down back on the bed.

'Well that's just great...' He tought as he turned his head towards the window of the room. The bright sunlight got trough the curtains and it made his eyes sting.

"Maybe I should call Tony then..." He pondered outloud as he sat up while stretching his arms towards the ceiling.

His boxers were on the floor next to the bed, as he always slept on the nude. He got up from bed and stumbled towards the bathroom while pulling them on.

"I got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine I got a love, and I know that it's all mine oh! Whoa~!" Elijah hummed as he switched the lights of the bathroom on and walked to the mirror.

The face that was staring back at him from the mirror had semi-short dark brown hair that was slightly ruffled up, not just because he had just waken up, but it was always like that. It didn't look messy at all though. There were also two larger strands of hair that tilted slightly upwards coming down on both sides of his head from the center of his hairline above the forehead.

He had always liked the way his hair looked. He wasn't a narcissitic person but he was pretty satisfied of how he looked. He especially liked the fact that he had emerald green eyes, and apparently, so did some of the girls at school, too. It was sometimes a drag though, because every time a girl got a crush on him he had to tell them that he was gay, and that he couldn't date girls for that reason.

As Elijah finished brushing his teeth he picked up the phone again and typed in Tony's phone number.

"Come on pick up pick up..." He mumbled as the phone rang.

"Yo, what's up Elly?" Tony finally answered.

"Hi! Tony! Guess what, Tanya said that she can't make it to the beatch today."

"Oh, that's a bummer..."

"So, I was kinda thinking if you wanted to come with me instead?"

There was a short silence on Tony's end.

"Look, Elijah, I'm sorry but I can't make it either." Tony said with an apologetic tone.

"Aw hell, why not?"

"Well, it's because I promised to spend the whole day with Emily today. Remember?"

"Oh, right." Elijah huffed and rolled his eyes.

Sometimes he tought that Tony should really find something else besides Emily in his life. Not that it was a bad thing that they were dating, they were just always doing everything together, just the two of them, and Tony barely had the time to go to school!

The last time Elijah had spent some time with Tony was at his ninetieth birthday, and that was about three weeks ago.

"Well I guess it's ok then." Elijah said and smiled slightly.

"Thanks for understanding, see ya later then."

"Ok see you."

Elijah closed the phone and sighed. Looks like he was all alone this weekend. Maybe he should just go and rent a movie for the evening or something.

The movie store was just a mile and a half away from where Elijah lived, so he decided he migth as well take the bike when the weather was so perfect. It was a pity though, that he couldn't share the day with anyone...

"That'll be four dollars please." The clerk said with a smile as she handed Elijah the movie he had rented.

"Thanks, here you go."

"Thank you! Come again!"

As Elijah stepped out of the store he got on his bike and looked at the case of the movie. The title was "Love and Hate."

It was a rather old romantic movie. He liked them a lot for some reason. Tony always called him a softie when ever he rented one and it was never fun watching them with him anyways.

'He just never gets the point of these movies...' Elijah tought and shrugged while stuffing the movie in his backpack.

"Do what you want but you're never gonna break me, sticks and stones are never gonna shake me, no, whoa.~" He hummed again as he began to cycle towards his home.

He turned his head to the right as he saw the park. It was empty, wich was quite unusual, especially on a beautiful day like this.

Then, he suddenly saw a flock of crows sitting all bunched up in a couple of trees.

"What the heck..." He tought outloud and slowed down.

There usually weren't any crows around these parts, and now there suddenly was, and many.

'Maybe they're preying on a cat, or a puppy or something...' Elijah tought and got off of his bike. Better go make sure, woudln't want anyone's pet getting attacked.

As he got to the site there was nothing. No kittens, no puppies, not even mice or moles.

"Well that's weird..." He mumbled and looked at the flock of crows.

"You shouldn't be here, get lost." He growled and began jumping and shaking his arms in the air.

"Shoo! Shoo! Get out of here!"

The flock started flapping away and feathers got scattered all over the ground.

"And good riddance." Elijah huffed and placed his hands on his hips while nodding firmly.

But then suddenly, the ground beneath him began trembling.

"Holy sh- What's going on?" Elijah exclaimed even though there was no one else around to hear him.

The ground gradually began to shake harder and harder and Elijah had to grab a hold of a tree that was close to him when an area of ground close by suddenly exploded, flinging rocks and dirt high up into the air with a loud bang.

Had a meteorite hit!? Was there an earthquake, or perhaps a volcanic erruption!? Or a BOMB!?!?

As the smoke and dust began to fade Elijah looked around in order to find out what had caused the explosion.

He ran next to the crater that had just appeared out of the blue and looked around. There weren't any signs or traces of a bomb around, so maybe it WAS a meteorite... Or a volcanic eruption.

He stood up and turned around only to be shocked again, but this time, he almost couldn't believe his eyes.

There was a two meter creature standing in front of him. Bright red eyes and enormous horns and hooves. A majestic bright red mane waving in the wind, almost looking like a great flame.

"Wh- What the hell are you!?" Elijah yelled and fell on his bottom on the ground when the creature walked towards him, slowly emerging from the smoke.

"Hm...? What is this..." The creature bellowed with a deep masculine voice that made shivers run up Elijah's spine.

"The mortal can see me? This is something new..."

"I- I asked you a question! What or who the hell are you!?" Elijah tryed to shout, sounding as confident as he could at that time.

The creature just crouched before him and grinned widely.

"Do not get over your head, boy..." He huffed and chuckled slightly.

"I am Valafar, the DUKE of the flaming pits of agony wich you mortals simply call: 'Hell'..."

Elijah blinked and backed up a little.

"V- Valafar? H- HELL!? You're a demon!?"

A wide grin formed on Valafar's Muzzle again.

"Yes, a demon..." He said and got up slowly.

"H- Holy shit..." Elijah studdered and slowly got up while picking up his backpack from the ground.

Valafar suddenly turned around grabbing Elijah by the shoulders and lifted him up to the level of his face. Elijah could smell his breath as he quikly turned his head away and braced him self for a punch or lazer beam eyes or what ever attack the demon could throw at him.

But he didn't.

"You... Aren't supposed to see me." Valafar bellowed and snorted slightly.

Elijah carefully opened his eyes and lowered his arms while turning to look at Valafar again.

"Wh.. What?" He said quietly and blinked.

"Mortals aren't supposed to be able to see me while I'm upon earth... So WHY is it that YOU can..." Valafar tought outloud, only partially directing his speech to Elijah.

"So you're... Not going to hurt me?" Elijah asked in surprise making Valafar chuckle again.

"I might..." He said suspiciously.

'But first I am going to find out what it is that anables you to see me...' He tought and lowered Elijah back on the ground.

Elijah backed up slowly and swallowed.

'Oh man... What are the odds. I have to get out of here.' He tought desperately and stared at his bike with the corner of his eye.

He suddenly turned around and ran to his bike and got on as quikly as he could while beginning to paddle like hell.

His home wasn't very far away, perhaps he could get to safety, perhaps the demon would just forget and leave him.

'Yeah, that's it, he wouldn't bother with me anymore, he could go chew on some priests or something.' Elijah tought and laughed at his tought while turning to look behind him.

Valafar wasn't there...

'Thank GOD...' Elijah sighed as he got to his appartment door.

He quikly got inside and slammed his bedroom door shut when he collapsed on his bed again while closing his eyes.

"Perhaps I should start going to church every sunday..." Elijah tought outloud and smirked.

"The church is but a fancy building full of people who think they're all fancy. A load of bull if you ask me..." Elijah suddenly heared a rumbling voice from above.

'Aw, hell no...!' He tought and carefully opened his left eye.

"Miss me?" Valafar chuckled. He was sitting upside down against the ceiling of the room cross-legged.

Elijah wasn't really scared anymore, NOW, he was just freaking pissed.

"Why in the name of god can't you just leave me be!" He shrieked and marched back and forth in front of his bed.

"In the name of god? Nooo, in his name, I don't do anything, boy..." Valafar growled and grinned while he dropped down on Elijah's bed.

Elijah stopped in front of him and looked at him with an angry face.

"How come you dare be so bold now? When you were just running away from me in terror a minute ago." Valafar smirked and tilted his head a little.

"It's because-" Elijah began and crossed his arms.

"I can tell this much, if you really wanted to hurt me you would already have." He stated plainly and stood his ground.

'Hm. Smart kid...' Valafar tought and placed his left hand against his chin.

"Or... Perhaps you can't?" Elijah said and grinned victoriously.

Valafar winced and flinged his fist towards Elijah's face, but stopped right in front of it. Elijah had not moved a muscle.

This made Valafar growl from the feeling of defeat while he pulled his fist back slowly.

"True... We demons can not hurt the living, or else we'd be judged by a heavenly blade." He huffed.

"By a heavenly blade?" Elijah asked incredulously.

Valafar nodded.

"Yes, there are rules between heaven and hell you know."

"Rules? What kind of rules?"

Valafar closed his eyes and sighed slightly.

"Aren't we just full of questions now... Yes, rules. First of all, demons may NOT hurt the living. If so, angels shall come down from heaven and strike down the demon that did so."

"Well of course that makes sense." Elijah said and shrugged while walking to the chair next to his desk.

"But, we demons can try and influence the living. We're always free to tempt them, whisper to their ear if you will, make them do things according to our will." Valafar explained and smirked while opening his eyes and directing them towards Elijah.

"That's evil." Elijah said and frowned.

Valafar pointed at his horns.

"I didn't get these horns for nothing you know..." He said sarcastically and flicked the horn with his finger.

Chapter 2. Doing it The Demon Way

Elijah stared at Valafar for a minute and then turned around on the chair.

"Alright then, do what ever you will." He said and shrugged while switching on his computer.

Valafar snorted and got up from the bed.

"What do you mean 'do what ever you will'..." He asked and walked behind Elijah.

"I mean that you are free to go and do what ever you wish, it's not like I can stop you..." Elijah said and turned to look at Valafar who winced and pointed at him.

"Now you just wait a single minute! I am not going anywhere until you tell me your secret!"

"My... Secret?"

"Yes! How is it that you are able to see me?"

Elijah sighed and shook his head.

"You know, if I knew that, I would already have told you. If that was the only way to get rid of you."

Valafar froze and then turned around while crossing his arms, mumbling and cursing something about 'the kid having a point'.

'I guess I'll just have to stick around until I find out...' He tought and suddenly jumped and sat on Elijah's computer screen.

"Listen here, smart ass." He said and glared at Elijah.

"I am not leaving until I have the information I need, so you won't be getting rid of me for a while."

Elijah groaned and leaned back on the chair while rolling his eyes.

"Fine then. But can you atleast get off the computer screen?"

"No."

...

"Well that's just dandy. A stubborn demon hanging around my house, that was just what I needed." Elijah mumbled and got up from the chair.

"Since I haven't got anything better to do, I might as well study." He said and jumped on his bed.

He reached his hand under it and pulled out his backpack and his history book.

Valafar was still sitting atop the monitor, his arms across his chest.

He was staring at Elijah and thinking. Would the reason for his ability really show up if he waited, or was he just wasting his time with the mortal.

'Who knows, maybe this one has some other abilities I have yet to witness... Perhaps he could be useful...' He tought while rubbing his chin.

"Tell me, boy." He suddenly spoke and leaned forward.

"Do you believe in god?"

Elijah turned his head towards Valafar with a stumped expression on his face.

"Do I believe in what now?"

"In god." Valafar repeated, making Elijah raise an eyebrow.

"Well, I guess I'd have to believe in god now, after I've seen you." He said and turned back to his book.

"But why the sudden interest?"

Valafar grinned.

"I guess I'm just a curious little demon." He grunted and moved down to sit on the computer chair, making it crackle under his weight a little.

"Hmm-m..." Elijah hummed, still looking at Valafar with the corner of his eye.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you are just planning on tempting me."

Valafar blinked and stared at Elijah before smiling sheepishly.

"Come now, what makes you think that of lil' ol' me?"

Elijah pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.

"Because 'lil' ol' you' is a demon." He said and smiled a little.

"Well of course I'm a demon!" Valafar huffed and stood up from the chair.

"But does that mean I always have bad intentions?"

"Well, yes, it does. I tought demons were supposed to be sneaky, and smart." Elijah said abruptly and grinned making Valafar growl.

He walked right next to Elijah and looked down on him looking as threatening as possible.

"You watch your tongue... Boy." He spat and let out a powerful huff making Elijah's hair ruffle up.

"I'll try and control my self." Elijah said provocatively and patted Valafar on the thigh before turning around.

"You just stay put now while I'll go and take a shower. Alright?"

And with that he left towards the shower.

Valafar stood in place staring after Elijah. He didn't know wether to be extremely angry or amused. The boy wasn't treating him like humans usually treat demons at all.

First of all, he didn't seem to be afraid around him, nor did he squirm at his feet, begging for mercy.

Secondly he was constantly testing Valafar's patience and it made him wonder why he hadn't beat the kid to a pulp already, sure, he would've gotten banished by angels, but if the kid got him aggitated enough, he probably couldn't care less about that.

Valafar closed his eyes and walked to Elijah's bed deep in his toughts. He sat on the unmade sheets and crossed his legs.

"I wonder if this brat is even worth my time..." He tought outloud when he suddenly got an idea. He opened his eyes and stared at the opposite wall while grinning cunningly.

Elijah threw his clothes on the floor and hung his towel on the rack before pulling the shower curtain in front of him.

He sighed heavily as he let the cool water drench his hair and body.

'What on earth have I stumbled upon now..,' He tought and scrached his head while leaning on the wall with his other arm.

He was constantly trying to think of ways to deal with Valafar, it was alright now when he was at home, but what if that thing followed him to school and everywhere else. That wouldn't be good.

How would he be able to keep him under control? So far he had done a pretty good job, but in the future... It was hard to tell.

Elijah grabbed the shower gel and rubbed it all over his body.

'Maybe he won't do anything too drastic...' He tryed to think reassuringly.

'Perhaps he's too consetrated on finding out the secrets of my ability that he doesn't care for anything else...' He pondered while shampooing his hair.

When he had calmed him self down enough he stepped out of the shower and dryed him self up while choosing a new set of clothes from the laundry basket full of clean clothes.

After Elijah had finished dressing he went back to his room, still drying his hair with the towel only to find Valafar sitting on his bed with a sinister grin on his muzzle.

"Why are you grinning like that? What is it that's on your mind this time." He asked carefully and stopped on his tracks.

"Oh, nothing." Valafar chuckled and turned to look at the ceiling.

"No. Really, tell me."

Valafar smirked and looked at Elijah while scraching his cheek.

"Just thinking that you'd make an absolutely FABULOUS incubus." He said and placed his fist on his lips.

"Huh? An incubus? You mean like a male seducer?" Elijah asked and blinked, sceptical of what Valafar had just said.

"Yes, an incubus." Valafar answered plainly and nodded.

"Well, what makes you think that?"

Valafar grinned widely and pointed as his eye before turning his wrist to point at the wall.

"We demons can see trough walls if that is what we desire." He said.

The hair on the back of Elijah's neck stood on end when his brain did the math several times just to make sure what he had just heared was actually true.

"GOD! Not only is the demon stubborn, he's PERVERTED as well!" He yelled angrily and threw his towel against Valafar's face while stomping off towards the livingroom.

"And by the way, that's a NO, as in, I am not interested!"

Valafar grabbed the towel and sniffed it slightly while chuckling victoriously.

"I caught you off guard now, boy." He said self-sufficiently, satisfied that he had finally evened the score up with the mortal.

If the boy wanted to play it that way, Valafar wasn't going to just sit back and be ridiculed by a simple human.

He followed Elijah into the living room where he was now sitting on the floor next to the TV, inserting the movie disc into the DVD player.

"Hmm...? So what are you doing now?" Valafar asked sweetly and picked his teeth with his claw while laying down on the couch.

Elijah gave him a sharp, brain piercing look but settled down to just sighing.

'Count to ten, Elijah, count to ten...' He told himself over and over again.

"I'm going to watch a movie... To wash out those horrible mental images you just gave me out of my head." He finally muttered.

"Oh, I see." Valafar said and grinned.

"Well, you should still consider my offer... Think of all the men you could have." He chuckled with a devious smirk.

Elijah stood up and stomped the floor with his foot.

"I said I am not interested, and- Wait what...? How did you-"

"Know you are gay?" Valafar interrupted and turned to look at Elijah with the corner of his eye.

"I'm a demon, of course we're able to tell stuff like this just by looking at you. It'd be just plain dumb to start tempting a gay guy with a harem of women. Duh."

Elijah shook his head and moved back beside the DVD player.

"Ok, now you just sound like a teenage girl." He said and smiled a little.

Valafar just huffed at that remark.

"Well you know, when in Rome, do as the Romans do." He said while staring at his claws.

"Oh shut up." Elijah said, slightly amused, before pressing the play button on the player.

The movie went on and the both of them didn't speak to eachother for three quarters of an hour.

Elijah was on the floor snuggled up against two plump pillows and Valafar was still on the couch.

There was a romantic scene going on in the film.

"Oh Gabriella, how I long to be with you. I wish we could just run away from it all, and be together." The man in the film said dramatically and extended his hand towards the starlight sky.

"You know it's not that simple, Bernard... You know what would happen if the others found out. Of course, I love you too, but-"

"Hush... Gabriella..." The man said to the lady who was wearing a white dress and kissed her.

Valafar turned his head and rolled his eyes while letting out a loud huff.

"SHHH!" Elijah hissed to him and quikly turned back towards the movie again.

Valafar frowned and turned around while scraching his rump.

"That guy's just hoping to get it good tonight..." He muttered making Elijah sigh.

"I didn't expect you to get it... Geeze, you're just like Tony." He said and pressed the stop button on the DVD player.

Valafars ears wiggled.

"Aren't you going to finish watching?" He asked and sat up.

"No... It's getting late anyways, I'll just watch it when there's no one distrupting the mood." Elijah said and walked to his bedroom.

Valafar didn't say anything but followed him soon after.

He sat on the computer chair again and stared at Elijah who had just jumped beneath the covers of his bed.

"You know, Valafar..." Elijah suddenly said and rose up his head.

"I've been wondering. Why can't you just uhm, change your ways? And make up for all the things you've done? Maybe you'd get to heaven. I'm sure if you really repent what you've done, you could-"

"That's not possible." Valafar interrupted him.

"How come...?"

Valafar tought for a while and leaned on the back rest of the chair.

"No matter what we do, we demons will always be burned by the light of angels and heaven... So we can never go there, we'd burn to ash."

"Oh..." Elijah said a tad dissapointed, he was about to say something, but he stopped him self.

"Good night..." He said instead and threw his underwear on the floor from under the covers.

Valafar didn't answer. He just stared at the boy quietly, watching him fall off to sleep.

There was something about him that he couldn't quite put his finger on... Not yet atleast.

Chapter 3. The Choice

Elijah was seeing a dream.

In it, it was dark, and cold... He didn't know where he was or how he got there. He was just alone...

But then, he suddenly saw a glimmer of white light ahead wich began to become brighter and brighter. Soon, it stang his eyes, and he could make out a figure with a robe and wings in it. He began to walk towards the figure slowly.

But suddenly he felt a strong presence behind him, he turned around to see Valafar standing there, his arms crossed over his chest. He looked angry, but suddenly grinned and said.

"Good morning sleeping beauty."

Elijah's eyes sprang open. He had slept in, as it was already half past 2 PM and he was on his bed and the sheets were all drenched with cold swet.

Valafar was sitting on top of his chest cross-legged, staring him in the face, but he didn't seem to weight anything.

Elijah let out a heavy sigh.

"Morning..." He said plainly and wiped his forehead.

Valafar just frowned.

"What's that now... For once I was trying to be nice and that's how you answer back." He snorted, as if insulted while turning his head slightly to the left.

"You just have some hidden agenda again... So don't complain, you're a demon afterall." Elijah said and yawned while streching his arms.

Valafar rolled his eyes and jumped off of the bed when Elijah put on his boxers and walked to the bathroom to take a leak.

"And you're just being cocky again, boy." Valafar growled while staring out of the window.

He raised his arms behind his head and leaned back while closing his eyes.

"So what are you going to do today?" He asked when Elijah came out of the bathroom.

"What, me...? I think I'm just gonna eat breakfast and then go for a little walk just to clear my toughts." He replied and shrugged while switching on the coffee maker.

He sat down with the coffee mug at the table and yawned when he pressed the button on the remote to turn on the TV. The news was on:

"Scientists are baffled, they have no idea what could have created the large crater in the middle of the park. They are also sure that it's not the work of a meteorite OR vulcanic activity." Said the long, blonde haired woman standing next to the crater surrounded with yellow tape and loads of people.

"Well would you look at that." Valafar grinned when he sat on the table.

Elijah switched the TV off and sighed.

"Quite a stirr you're causing... It's no surprise though." He said and took a sip of his coffee.

"I do my best." Valafar said and bowed slightly.

It was surprisingly windy outside that day, and Elijah had to take a coat with him when he had left the house.

He was deep in his toughts as they were walking back towards Elijah's house when Valafar suddenly butted in his toughts again.

"Tell me, boy, are you afraid of going to hell?"

Elijah blinked and turned to look at Valafar.

"So you think I'm going to hell...?" He asked, sounding a tad suspicious.

"Well, you are gay afterall, and you know what the bible says about that." Valafar said and smirked.

"But if you do as I ask, perhaps I can.. How could I express it... 'lighten your sentance'."

Elijah just closed his eyes and turned to look away.

"Well... I know that you're lying..." He said making Valafar flinch slightly.

"And what makes you think that?" He replied, trying to sound as confident as possible.

"Well, if I really truly was going to hell, you wouldn't waste your time tempting me all the time, because you'd be able to do what you wished with me anyways. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure that one out."

"Tch-" Valafar winced. He didn't know what say to deceive the kid anymore, he was just too much of a smartass to figure out.

He stopped at the door when Elijah stepped in trough it and took off his coat before walking towards his room again.

Valafar stared at the door. He didn't care if he got the mortals soul or not anymore, now it was just a matter of pride.

'I am going to get you to do things my way, wether you want it or not...' He thought and followed Elijah to his room.

Elijah was sitting at his desk again, staring at the computer screen when Valafar stood behind him.

"So, are you just going to stand there all day staring at me like a retard?" He asked without moving.

Valafar just snorted and sat down on the bed.

"You should just give up. You have better things to do, don't you?" Elijah asked again.

Still, no anwser.

"Fine then, do as you wish..." Elijah huffed when Valafar suddenly opened his eyes and smirked.

"How about... We make a deal?" He said and stood up, making Elijah turn around on the chair.

"What kind of deal?" He asked and leaned on his hand. Valafar lowered his head.

"I will give you a dare, wich you must carry out, because if you don't, I'll stay and bewitch you for the rest of your life. But if you complete the dare, I shall be out of your sight that instant."

Elijah stood up and stared at Valafar keenly.

"Only if a few conditions are fulfilled..." He said.

Valafar grunted victoriously deep in his toughts as he kneeled down and placed his hand on his chin.

"Oh? What kind of conditions?"

Elijah crossed his arms and rose up a finger.

"One, the dare does NOT involve giving up mine, OR anyone elses soul." He said and nodded.

Valafar did the same.

"Alright, I can accept that." He said but grumbled slightly in his toughts. He had to think of something else...

"Two, anyone or anything can't get hurt while I do the dare or because of the dare."

Valafar nodded once again.

"Three, the dare has to be within my capability. For exaple, you can't dare me to go to japan in five seconds."

Valafar narrowed his eyes and turned his head while staring at Elijah.

"Fine..." He said and shrugged.

"And one more thing, you must give me proof or a vow that you will actually leave after I've finished the dare." Elijah said and stepped in front of Valafar, holding his hand extended towards him.

"It shall be done." He replied and made a deep, long wound on his chest with his claw.

"This shall be the symbol of our pact."

'I'll just have to come up with a dare he will never finish, it just has to fit the conditions...'

And then, they shook hands...

The wound on Valafar's chest burned and turned into a painful looking scar.

"So... Give me the dare." Elijah said determinedly.

Valafar closed his eyes and grinned.

"I want you... To kiss me." He said cunningly.

'There's absolutely no way a mortal would ever dare to-'

Valafars toughts shattered suddenly, when he felt Elijah's warm and slightly wet lips meet his. Not like it was a french kiss or anything, but it was still a kiss.

'He... He did it...?!' Valafar tought and let his eyelids spread wide open.

They just stood there for a good thirteen seconds before Elijah backed away slowly. But for Valafar, it had felt like a millenia.

"There, I finished your little dare, now you can leave." Elijah said and went back to sit on the computer chair.

Valafar just stood there on his knee, dumbstruck.

He was completely caught off guard, and now he couldn't even think straight.

He had lost... The scar on his chest began burning with pain. He winced and closed his eyes tightly while clenching his fist before taking off trough the roof of the house with a loud "whoomp" -sound. Towards who knows where...

After Elijah felt that Valafar was no longer near he lowered his head slightly. Was it really ok, to just let him go off like that...?

He closed his eyes and sighed while trying to consentrate on his work to get his mind off of the demon. Why, why coulnd't he just shake the tought of him out of his head.

That's when he noticed the movie he had rented yesterday on the bedside table.

"Damn! I forgot I have to return it today!" He cursed and pulled his hair. He wouldn't have time to finish it anyway, so he might as well get going right away.

So he grabbed his coat again and rushed outside to his bike.

Valafar was sitting on a branch of a tall tree, hidden in the leaves. The tree wasn't too far away from Elijah's house actually.

He had said he'd get out of Elijah's sight, but, he didn't say that he'd go back to hell, or how long he'd stay away from him.

He was deep in his toughts when he suddenly heared a door closing.

It was Elijah, he was going somewhere.

"Now what's he up to..." Valafar murred outloud and tryed to get a better look at Elijah trough the leaves. He saw the movie in his hand.

"Hm... A conscientious mortal, aren't we." He huffed and slowly began to follow behind Elijah, making sure he wouldn't notice him.

Why was it that he had to follow this boy around everywhere, what was it he felt that he just couldn't place his finger on.

He had a constant NEED to be around him...

'It's just because I never get him to do things my way... Yes, that has to be it.' Valafar tought.

'That and his ability is what is making him so intriguing... It has to be.'

It was suddenly getting dark. There were thick dark storm clouds piling up above them and you could already hear the sound of thunder in a distance.

"Well that's just great." Elijah huffed as he felt the first first few raindrops on his cheek.

Maybe if he hurried, he could make it before the rain broke out fully. He began peddling faster when suddenly he felt a powerful impact on his front tyre.

Valafar stopped at his tracks when he saw Elijah flying down to the hard concreet street.

He laid on the street and carefully pushed his body up. A drop of blood dripped on the ground. The corner of his eye was bleeding.

"Oi, Chad, isn't that the fag from our school?" Elijah heared a voice from behind him. He quikly turned around and looked up.

There were two tall guys standing in front of him. The other one was wearing a leather coat and a pair of ripped up jeans, while the other was wearing a bandana and a white tank top.

"You know... I think he is!" The other one said and kneeled down to grab Elijah's shirt. He lifted him up slightly and stared at him furiously.

"And I really don't like fags..." He huffed and spat on the ground before swinging his arm to punch Elijah in the face.

He dropped on to the street, holding his left cheeck.

"What did I ever do to you! Leave me alone!" Elijah exclaimed angrily and tryed to crawl towards his bike when the other guy suddenly kicked him in the stomach making him kough and gag in pain.

He could taste blood in his mouth.

"Just... Let me go." He whimpered and reached for his bike when the guy with the leather coat stepped on his arm.

"Nu-uh. You're not going anywhere, chump." He grinned and signed for the other to come over.

"Step on his face, and make sure he feels it good."

Elijah squirmed but he couldn't move, he was now being held down on the ground.

"No! Stop it! You know this isn't right!" Elijah tryed to cry out but the boys didn't seem to care.

The one with the bandada rose his foot up above Elijah's head.

"You're not leaving without a good beating, fag." He laughed.

But suddenly, he was thrown into the air with a loud thump.

"Holy shit! Dude you ok?" The one with the leather coat asked and looked at the one with the bandana.

"What the hell just happ- OOMF!"

The guy was now suddenly receiving hard blows all around his body untill he was almost uncontious.

The leather coated one was trembling, he let go of Elijah's hand and backed up slowly.

Elijah sighed as some tears formed in his eyes.

"Valafar..." He whispered when he saw Valafar now beating the crap out of the leather coated guy.

Valafar was blinded by fury. He had to beat those guys up, he couldn't even cotrol him self anymore, he was on a rampage.

"How DARE you puny WORMS do that! How DARE you infuriate ME!?" He roared as he threw the man down on the concreet street.

They were both now covered in bruises and blood stains, but they still had the strength in them to get up and run away.

"We'll get you for this fag!" The other shouted almost in tears.

Valafar was breathing heavily, clouds of steam forming in front of his muzzle in the cool air.

Elijah tryed to rise up to his feet, but he collapsed on the street on his knees when he suddenly saw a bright flash of pure white light in front of him.

Valafar felt a stinging pain on his back and chest, making him roar up to the sky.

As he looked down he saw a glowing white blade, pierced trough his body, burning his flesh. He thrusted forward and turned around so that the blade slipped out of him.

There, standing before him, were three silver armoured angels, all glowing in their white glory.

Valafar felt his skin burning slightly, but he didn't care, he just stared at the angels with a furious look on his face.

Elijah's eyes widened as he saw the angel pierce Valafar's body.

"No! Don't!" He tryed to shout but his weak voice was buried in the sound of thunder.

The angels began swinging their swords at Valafar, slicing wounds and scars all over his body. Valafar didn't even try to resist. He just took the blows and backed up slowly while grinding his teeth.

"Stop it!!!" Elijah screamed in tears and stumbled up on his feet and grabbed a hold on one of the angel's arm when it was just about to swing his sword.

All of the angels froze, and turned to look at Elijah, who was now whimpering in tears.

"Stop it... Stop it... He was just trying to help me.. He... Doesn't deserve this." He studdered and stared at the angel in the eyes when tears flowed down his cheeks.

Valafar slowly rose up his head and breathed heavily, he was exhausted and could barely stay on his feet. He saw Elijah, holding the angel and crying.

"Mortal..." He huffed with a weak voice.

The angels all looked at each other and then at Elijah before smiling warmly.

"So be it..." One said and lifted up his hand before all three of them vanished with a bright flash of light.

Elijah fell down on his knees, breathless.

"Thank you..." He said and sniffed before he suddenly saw Valafar fall down on the street.

"Valafar!!" He exclaimed and quikly crawled over to the demon duke.

"Hold on, you'll be ok..." Elijah cryed and pushed Valafar up on to his knees.

Valafar could barely keep his eyes open when the rain suddenly came pouring down on them, making the blood on his body flow down onto the street.

Elijah wrapped his arms around the demon and squeezed him tightly, making the blood stain his clothes.

Neither of them said anything. Valafar just nodded around, but Elijah held him steady.

'Get off of me... Get away...' Those were the words that rolled around in Valafar's head, but he couldn't speak them.

He just couldn't get the words to come out of his mouth. He couldn't say them to Elijah now when he was holding him.

It wasn't the same. It wasn't anything like the time when Belili had done the same.

"Come on. Let's take you home..." Elijah said quietly and rose up carefully, letting Valafar lean on his body.

'Home...?' Valafar tought, his head still a bit blurry. He grinned ever so slightly and slowly began to walk with Elijah.

'Home.. huh..'

Valafar felt warm. He was leying on something soft.

"Mmhm... Elijah..." He mumbled and shifted slightly.

"For once, you used my name..." He suddenly heared Elijah's voice near him.

Valafar's eyes shot open and he pushed him self up.

He was sitting on Elijah's bed, and Elijah was sitting on the side of the bed.

"Don't push your self... The wounds might open up again." He said and carefully laid Valafar back on the bed.

Valafar examined his body. All of his wounds had been wrapped up in bandages, and they had some blood stains on them.

"Now I'm no expert in Demon healthcare..." Elijah smiled and moved in closer.

"But I did my best to stop the bleeding. We just have to change the bandages and clean the wounds again after a while."

Valafar didn't say anything, he was just leying there, breathing slowly and staring at the ceiling.

Elijah had managed to get away with just a few bruises and a partially black eye. He stood up from the bed and went to the desk to get a mug of warm chocolate.

"I don't know... if you can drink this, but it'll make you feel better." Elijah said and placed the mug on the bedside table.

Valafar didn't anwser again. He closed his eyes and after a moment of silence took a deep breath.

"Why... Do you do all of this?" He asked and opened his eyes, still staring at the ceiling.

Elijah blinked.

"Huh? I uh..." He muttered quietly and turned away while sitting on the side of the bed again.

Valafar sat up slowly and turned to look at Elijah.

"Well?" He said with a slightly threatening voice.

Elijah just stood up quietly and got the bandage rolls from the table.

He went to Valafar and carefully began removing the bloody bandages, making Valafar wince a little.

"I'm sorry. I'll try and be careful." Elijah said quietly without looking into Valafar's eyes.

"You didn't anwser my question..."

Elijah began wrapping the new clean bandages around Valafar's waist, chest and arms and sighed quietly.

"I guess... I mean, the first time I looked at you-" He began to explain, feeling a tad uneasy of what Valafar might say.

"Of course, the first time I saw you, I was scared. Terrified even... But..."

"But...?" Valafar asked, expecting a clear anwser this time.

"But when I really looked into your eyes. I noticed, that... Deep down, there is some good in you, you aren't as bad and terrifying as one might think."

Valafar's ears slowly perked up and his eyes widened, he didn't know how to anwser. Should he anwser at all?

"And..." Elijah continued and finished wrapping up the new bandages.

"This might sound weird, considering you're a demon, but. When I'm around you, I feel... Safe." He said quietly and finally managed to look at Valafar, who immediately turned his head away, his ears flattening against his head.

Elijah was quiet, but suddenly pulled him self on the bed and wrapped his arms around Valafar.

Valafar felt petrified, he couldn't move. Nor could he speak. But this time, he didn't even think about trying to get Elijah to let go.

He blinked a few times awkwardly but slowly lifted his arms up around Elijah to hug him back.

"... Thak you... Elijah..." He said after being silent for a moment.

Elijah opened his eyes in surprise. He knew it, he was right all along, Valafar wasn't just an evil beast without feelings. Elijah began crying from happiess as he tightened his hold on Valafar and rubbed his head against the crook of his neck.

"I'm just so glad you're ok..." Elijah said and pulled back, smiling warmly.

"I'll... I'll go take out the trash and the dirty bandages." He said and wiped the corner of his eye.

Valafar just nodded and leaned forward on the bed, loads of toughts and feelings were running trough him, and most of them, were pretty hard for a demon to comprehend.

He heared the door opening and closing as Elijah went outside. The leaves were flying in the wind outside the window of the room.

Then suddenly, sounds of a car accelerating and braking. Then a loud impact and a crash, trash bags flying past the window. Valafars pupils shrinked as adrenaline pumped trough his body.

"No!" He roared and jumped trough the window, making the glass shatter onto the street.

The car close by began speeding off, leaving black tyre tracks on the asfalt.

"GO TO HELL, FAG!!!"

Elijah was leying in the middle of the street, in a small puddle of blood.

Valafar slowly went to him and collapsed on his knees in front of him.

"Elijah... You're... I'm."

Elijah was shivering. He slowly and weakly turned his head to look at Valafar. There was blood flowing down from the corner of his mouth.

Valafars eyes widened and began to get damp. How could this happen? Why did this happen? He kept thinking as he carefully took Elijah in his arms.

Valafar looked up, and saw a robed figure standing on the other side of the street, holding an hourglass.

"Nh- No...!" Valafar whimpered and embraced Elijah with all his strenght.

Elijah weakly opened his mouth slightly and whispered.

"Valafar... I... I-I.. L-Lo..."

That's when the final grain of sand in the hourglass held by the figure fell on the bottom, and time seemed to slow down.

Elijah's body went completely limb and the leaves blowing in the wind stopped moving.

Valafar rose his head and stared at the robed figure in fury as it began to remove it's hood.

"Why... How can you take him away NOW!?" Valafar roared at the beautiful blonde haired angel woman revealed from under the robe.

Her light began to shine as she slowly approached Elijah.

"Let him go..." The angel of death spoke as Valafar's skin began burning in the light.

Valafar carefully lowered Elijah's body on the ground and moved back, squeezing his eyes shut tightly.

"It was... his time." The angel said and kneeled down to the boy.

"Don't give me that crap! He's gone! And it's all because of! Because of-!"

Valafar raged but quieted down when a tear drop dropped down on the asfalt.

"Because of..."

The angel stood up and looked at Valafar in pity.

"Demon duke, Valafar of hell..." She spoke and approached him a few steps.

"I shall give you... A choice."

Valafar rose his head up and looked at the angel, his eyes full of questions.

"You can't alter Elijah's fate of death, but I shall let you choose... Wether he goes to hell, with you. There, he wouldn't get any special treatment, and he'd be like any other soul... But you'd be able to see him, and be with him, when ever you want to."

Valafar slowly stood up, his cheeks drenched in tears.

"And, if he goes to heaven...?"

The angel lowered his head to look at Elijah.

"He will become an angel... And he shall live to protect and guide the souls of those who die young."

...

Valafar turned his back to the angel and lowered his head.

"I'll... I'll let him go..." He said quietly.

The angel was silent.

"You realize you won't ever be able to approach him again." She said without moving.

"I said I'll let him go!" Valafar roared and closed his eyes tightly again.

The angel smiled.

"The boy was right to have trusted in you, Valafar." She said and kneeled next to Elijah's body again, lifting his soul up onto her arms.

"But tell me..." Valafar said and turned around to get a final glimpse of Elijah.

"In the end... Why was he able to see me?"

The angel tought for a while and anwsered.

"Because Elijah was a human, who saw not only with his eyes, but also with his heart..." She said and backed up a few steps.

"Farewell, Duke Valafar of hell..."

And with that the angel spread her beautiful white wings and flew off to the sky, piercing the clouds with a brilliant flash of light.

The leaves began moving and the trees began swaying in the wind again. The sound of an ambulance was heared in a distance.

Valafar stood in the middle of the street and looked at the cold body of a boy.

"To you... I hope... Actions speak louder than words." He whispered and turned around.

"Farewell... My mortal love..."
