As Gale and I were preparing the newest medicine mixture, I noticed that Gale was getting a little slow with the buttons.

"What's wrong Gale?" I said, with a tinge of worry in my voice.

"Just getting a case of arthritis again" Gale said.

After District 12 was re-established, Gale has been getting all sorts of sicknesses ever since he returned from District 2.

"maybe you should let me do it. You should rest your hands" I said, looking at the knuckles of white on his hands.

"No Katniss. it's a delicate operation, and it needs to be done properly" he replied.

Suddenly, he collapsed onto the control panel, pushing several buttons at once. Outside, on the production line, vials of strange coloured liquids crashed onto the floor, creating a flammable concoction. As gears grinded, sparks flew onto the floor, igniting the concoction of medicines into an inferno.

Meanwhile, Marrissa was in school, when she noticed smoke coming from the factory.

"Delta, wasn't mum in the factory with Gale today?" Marrissa asked.

Delta looked over. "Go get dad. I'll go and see what's happened"

As Marrissa left the classroom in a panic, the teacher looked up at Delta. "What's wrong with your sister?" he asked.

"Don't bother asking. Just look over there." Was all the puzzled teacher got as a reply.

"I don't... children, please go to the emergency room. Delta, don't leave the group." I know what you are like in an emergency he thought, looking at the smoke.

As the students were leaving the room, Delta slipped into the closet, and used a hidden tunnel his parents installed for emergencies. Outside, he saw his dad waiting for him, and his sister standing beside him, water bomb arrows in one hand, and his bow in the other.

"we might need these" Marrissa said, with fear in her voice, handing her brothers quiver and bow over.

"we might not be enough to stop anything big enough to create that much smoke" Delta said, taking the quiver.

"lets get over there and check it out before making assumptions" Peeta said. Unknown to his children, he knew the size of the fire, and where it was.

As they approached the factory, Peacekeepers were in the process of setting up a barrier to keep everyone away. Delta walked off towards a group of bushes and a tunnel they hid, while his father and sister approached front on.

"we need to get in! my wife is in there!" Peeta cried, moving a barrier.

"I'm sorry sir. You cannot enter. it's too dangerous." A peacekeeper replied calmly

"You don't understand. My wife is in trouble. You move these fucking barriers NOW!" threatened Peeta.

As the flames were roaring loudly, I cried out for gale, my best friend in the world. Outside, through the window, I could hear Peeta yelling at the peacekeepers. I ran over and yelled out, but my tiny voice couldn't pierce his ranting yells and the loud flames.

Unknown to Katniss, her son, Delta, was making his way to the control centre.

As Delta was making his way through the maze of corridors, he moved fallen beams and other obstructions out of his way. Seeing an axe, he picked it up, and continued towards the control centre.

Outside, Peeta was still trying to get inside. Moving a barrier, he blocked in the peacekeepers, causing one on the other side to come over, and try to calm him down. Marrissa, seeing her chance, ducked inside, and went to help her brother.

I doubt that you ever want to know what it feels like to be trapped in flames that are six-feet-high. It'slike a barrier that somebody just put up to trap you for life, only you actually know that your chances of surviving this nightmare are very low.

As the flames roared on, I heard my children screaming my name in shaky voices. My beautiful children. Just thinking about the fact I might never see them again brings me to tears. Then all of a sudden, I feel like my lungs are on fire, and I begin to see red. It becomes extremely hard to breathe, and as I wheeze and cough, I hear the door open and my children burst in, shouting my name. I feel their hands try to move me, and then I see nothing, hear nothing. I'm dead. The pain and wheezing is gone. As I open my eyes, I'm looking from somewhere else. Looking down on the catastrophe, I see Marrissa move my empty body from the factory, followed by Delta with Gale. My children. They are safe. Looking down one last time, I see Peeta looking at me with tears in his eyes. Turning around, I move on, to the place I've never seen before, only heard of. Goodbye my children. I shall be watching over you.
