#3 of Their Story

Finally Lucy meets Jack.

She does not know, if she can trust in him totally. Her previous bad experiences makes that she has many doubts about him.

Lucy wakes up some hours later when she hears of the horn of a barge that moves close to her.

Lucy looks around trying to know where she is, she opens her eyes with surprise when she sees the bridge of London.

She goes by underneath the bridge, Lucy tries to swim to the bank, but it is difficult for the running. Lucy swims while she holds the trunk to get to the bank; she makes an effort and gets tired after a moment.

Her efforts puts her next to the bank of the river, she is tired and sees limb of a tree above of her head. Lucy rapidly grabs it and begins to swim again to try to arrive at the bank.

She kicks strongly and finally she can crawl out of water. Lucy breathes agitatedly feeling extenuated while she hears the horns of the ships that cross the river.

Lucy stands up and climbs to achieve to get out of the bank of the river. She sees that she is near a park; Lucy gets comfortable close to a street lamp and falls asleep feeling completely tired. She stands up startled when she hears a thunder.

Drops of water begin to fall on her and the wind picks sheets up from the floor. She sees that the sky, the black clouds coat the city, everything is dark with the exception of the places illuminated by the street lamps.

She sees that flashes of lightning fall in different parts of the city, raindrops wham her face. Lucy begins to walk to look for a refuge, she thinks about taking shelter below a tree, but she thinks twice when a ray falls on a tree and splits a branch.

Lucy begins to run going into the park to seek cover; the park is completely deserted at that moment. The fear of Lucy increases by thunders. Her fur is completely soaked and she feels cold.

Lucy sees a roof far away; it is perhaps a kiosk or some kind of structure. She runs to seek cover and decides to use a path that goes to the kiosk o close to it; she trembles while she continues walking on the path.

Lucy stops when she sees that there is a dog seated at the path's intersection. He is completely soaked while he has his eyes closed. The dog is a German shepherd like her, he does not move while he is still sit.

The cold makes that Lucy trembles, but that dog frightens her, she does not understand why he is there in middle of the storm and the great cold. It is impossible that he not feels that cold that soaks deep into the bones.

Lucy sees that the kiosk is close behind some trees, she does not know what to do because the mysterious dog is on her way. She swallows saliva while she draws away from the road and tries to go by unnoticed to the dog passing a couple of meters of him.

Flashes of lighting continue falling and thunders fill the park with sound, Lucy walks calmly while water drips of her fur. She does not separate the look of the dog that does not move until she steps on a branch that reveals her position.

The dog opens his eyes and he looks at him. He looks her in the eye; his eyes are of honey-colored. The dog gets up while Lucy feels fear and almost panics when the unknown dog gets close to her.

"Hi." the dog says smiling to Lucy. She does not respond while she looks at him with fear.

"What are you doing here?" The dog asks while he sits and looks at Lucy.

"Nothing, I... I am looking some cover." Lucy says while she sees the roof of the kiosk that stands out between the wineglasses of the trees. She feels relieved a little seeing that the dog does not seem dangerous.

"There you will not have refuge, no with this storm." The dog says looking at Lucy, she does not believe him and distrusts him.

"Come on I will accompany you." The dog says while he stands up and begins to walk on the path. Lucy looks at him just a moment and follows him, she looks at him and notices that he is bigger than she is; he is after all is a male.

She does not understand what that dog wants , he perhaps wants to rape her at the park making good use of that there is nobody. Thousand different thoughts pass in Lucy's mind to explain the dog's strange behavior.

Lucy gets to the kiosk and he realizes that the dog's words were truth, there was a place to get covered of the sun, but it was useless because raindrops penetrated there due to the loud wind.

"I suppose that you do not have home, so I offer you mine." The dog says while he smiles in a friendly way at Lucy. She looks at him with surprise and distrust while a new gust of wind hits her body.

She feels cold and there is not a refuge at sight. Lucy does not know him, neither his true intentions, but it seems that she has not option.

"Ok." Lucy says while she looks at the dog. He smiles content.

"My name is Jack." The dog says extending his paw.

"Mine is Lucy." Lucy says at the moment of shaking Jack's paw. They begin to walk and Lucy positions herself to his side. Jack guides her out the park and they begin to walk down the street while rays and thunders even fall in London.

Lucy steps on several water puddles through of the road, she sees that Jack is guiding her to a close hill. Flashes of lightning illuminate a great mansion on the hill, it has an ample garden and there are shrubs hedge and in the front of the house is a grating in the whole perimeter.

The front gate is ample and made of wrought iron. Lucy can read the words JB on the top superior. Jack turns around on the corner of the house and guides her to last section of the grate.

He makes her a grimace and pushes the grate's two bars, she sees that bars move and Jack enters by the hole between the bars. Lucy jumps and enters by that same space and crosses some shrubs.

Lucy follows Jack, her paws step on the mud formed by the rain, they get to the back of the house and Jack shakes off the water of his body and slides through a door for dog.

Lucy swallows hard and shakes off the water of her body before going after Jack.

She sees that they are in a great kitchen. Jack moves and leaves impressions of muddy paws in the ground. Lucy sees that he does a face to her in order that she follows him; she begins to walk trying not to leave a lot of footprints.

Lucy is suddenly was hit by a hot air when she enters at the living room, the chimney is on. She sees that there is a man seated in a sofa, he is a man in his sixty years.

The man is reading a book while he is illuminated by a standard lamp. Jack gets close to the man and whines. The man takes down the book to see Jack.

"Jack Where has you being, boy?" The man tells noticing that his dog is completely soaked.

Lucy gets surprised because the man is not angry by the footprints of muddy paws on living room's carpet.

Lucy feels fear when the man becomes aware of her presence.

"I see, little rascal." The man says while he looks at Jack, he moves his tail. The man uses a bell that is in a close bedside stand. Lucy sees that a servant appears from a door and gets close to the man.

"Yes sir?" The servant asks the man with respect.

"Edgar, please lead to Jack and his friend in order that the others dry them appropriately." The man tells at the servant.

Edgar tilts his head respectfully and instructs Jack to follow him.

"Let's go." Jack says looking at Lucy. She walks next to Jack to a corridor, the servant calls some servants. They look for towels and follow the steward to a room that is little, it is a little deposit, but well-ordered.

Lucy sees that the rest of the servants begin to dry her body and the body of Jack, he is content while some servants dry his fur. She closes her eyes and decides to have a good time too, it had been a long time since she had felt this pleasant sensation.

Servants wash Lucy's paws to take out the mud and dry them; she enjoys the heat of the hair dryer that they use on her fur to dry it out thoroughly.

"Now the best part" Jack says looking at Lucy. She follows him to the living room where his master even reads. Jack leans back in front of the chimney and gets comfortable, he closes his eyes.

Lucy imitates him and enjoys heat, throughout her time on the street; she only had felt cold and solitude. Here she can feel as if she was home, she closes her eyes and memories of her previous life come to her mind.

A weep slides for her cheeks and she cleans it rapidly, she decides not to think about that.

Two hours later, Jack's master gets up and places the book on a bedside stand. He turns off the light.

"It's time for bed, boy." Jack's master says while he caresses his dog. Jack moves the tail while his master caresses him.

The man goes away while Jack looks at him just like Lucy.

"He is right, it is late." Jack says yawning.

"I'm Sorry." Jack says while he stands up and stretches his body completely.

"I will show you my room." Jack says looking at Lucy. She raises an eyebrow with certain distrust in Jack. He seems not to see it or to gives it importance; Lucy stands up and follows Jack while the storm continues outside of the house.

They go up by the stair and Jack guides Lucy rooms at the end of the corridor, the two dogs enter there. It is dark, but Lucy sees a very large and very comfortable bed for dog.

Jack gets in the room and does a jump to get on the bed; he rolls a little and growls while Lucy looks at him with surprise and some liking. Jack seemed to be a happy and jolly dog.

Jack stops and looks at Lucy. He touches the bed with his paw to invite Lucy to get in the bed too; she with some distrust gets in bed. It is soft, lined with a material that makes that any dog feels comfortable.

Lucy leans back in bed and curls her body to sleep, she tries to sleep, but she feels cold. She wants to make herself comfortable, but the cold that enter for a window lightly opened does not allow it.

She feels motion in bed while she tries to fall asleep; Lucy gets alarmed when Jack leans at her side, she is afraid again. Lucy gets surprised when he covers her with a blanket.

Lucy turns over her head and sees that Jack is next to her; he has his closed eyes and sleeps calmly. Lucy gets comfortable and looks in the opposite direction; she feels the body heat of Jack.

It is a pleasant and pleasurable heat. The cold does not bother Lucy more; she falls asleep after some thirty minutes.

On the next day, Lucy wakes up when Jack moves and comes out of the bed; she opens her eyes slowly and sees that Jack stretches his body. She can see clear that he is a very handsome dog and he is in shape, his muscles project out lightly when he stretches his body.

"The breakfast must be served." Jack says coming closer and looking at Lucy. She takes off the blanket. She yawns feeling that she had not had slept so well since long time.

She closes her mouth rapidly and feels uncomfortable. Jack makes a grimace and comes out of the room. Lucy follows him; they go down the stair and get to the kitchen where servants move from side to side getting ready for a new day.

Lucy sees a dog's bowl filled with of food, a few steps away from there; there is an obsolete metal bowl that also is full of food for dog. Lucy understands that dish is for her because after all she was not invited here.

The two dogs come closer and begin to eat; Lucy begins to eat fast feeling hungry, the taste of meat of the food fills her of joy. She had not tasted some food since the day before.

Lucy finishes the food and she stills feels hunger, Lucy sees with surprise that Jack takes his bowl and empties his food on her bowl. She notices that he just had eaten a bit portion of food.

Jack smiles at her and indicates her that she continues; she is surprised by Jack's gesture. Lucy begins to eat the food with more slowness to savor it. She eats without stopping to see Jack.

"Are you appeased?" Jack asks when Lucy finishes the food. She nods lightly and Jack smiles.

"I will give you a tour for the house." Jack says while he looks at Lucy. She agrees and Jack guides her for each corridor of the mansion. Lucy gets surprised when they enter at an ample room; it is full with shelves, trophies and recognitions.

Lucy looks at amazedly that there are big photos hanging of the walls, the photos shows to Jack and his master. In many of them Jack wears a ribbon on his chest; Jack had been the winner in several canine contests.

There is a genealogical map of Jack's family in a wall, Lucy gets surprised when finds out that Jack is born of dogs' family with very high pedigree. That in a way surprises Lucy, she had not hoped that he be a so valuable dog.

They come out of the room and Jack wants to show her the garden.

"You are a very important dog of exposition." Lucy says with some shame, her lineage was not ample like the lineage of Jack.

"Yes, but I do not give it importance, I think that if that would be important for me, I would better be a statue at a museum." Jack says looking at Lucy. She laughs smoothly just like Jack.

"That is a Beautiful painting." Lucy says when she sees a big painting of a man with his family above the chimney.

"That is my master's family." Jack says looking at Lucy. She looks at the painting with a smile because they all look very happy.

"Are they away on a trip?" Lucy asks while she realizes that until now she had not see the wife or the children of the master of Jack. He smiles sadly.

"They perished in accident some time ago." Jack says looking at Lucy. She gets surprised and feels uncomfortable to have done that question.

"That is sad." Lucy says looking at Jack, he nods lightly.

"I did not meet them because I arrive here after their death, my master was depressed and I dedicated to cheer him up." Jack says looking at Lucy. She looks at him approvingly.

Lucy for the rest of the day recognizes and investigates the rest of the house, at night she dines with Jack. His master arrives home and also dines; Lucy feels calm and content there, but does not know how much time she will be able to stay there before going back to the street.

The two next days are comfortable for Lucy, full stomach and comfortable bed to sleep. She feels uncomfortable of taking advantage of the nice welcome that she had.

His master does not knows her very well, but he seems a nice man, besides Jack is a jolly and educated dog. For the fifth day night, Lucy feels completely inconvenience by the situation.

This is so be good to be true, she thought that Jack's master just lets her stay because his dog wanted a little entertainment, nothing else. Lucy thinks about the kind of fun that Jack wanted, he is a male after all and they all always want the same thing.

Rex had raped her and Baxter had almost achieved it. She looks at Jack, he is sleeping at her side, he seems a helpful fellow, but she does not know him well enough.

"What he really wants of me?" Lucy asks herself while she tries to deduce when he would attempt some motion in her. She would not leave him, she would not allow that somebody uses her like his personal prostitute or that his master throws her out of here of a shameful way.

Lucy gets up with care and comes out of the room, she walks in the house, it is completely dark, and she goes down the stairs and walks toward the kitchen. She bewares of doing noise to awake to somebody.

She uses the dog's door and goes out to the exterior. Lucy watches the stars in the cloudless sky. Lucy looks at them for a moment; she used to observe the stars by her previous home's window.

After contemplating stars, she heads toward grate and looks for the place where she had entered. She gets inside between the shrubs; she looks for the two bars.

"Won't you want to be going now, right?" Jack asks while he puts his head into the shrubs and Lucy gets scared. She comes out of the shrubs and looks at Jack; he looks at him without showing irritation for her attempt of going away.

"Why do you want to leave?" Jack asks looking at Lucy; she does not look him directly.

"Your master will throw me from here certainly." Lucy says looking at Jack. He looks at her with a certain amount of confusion.

"Why do you think that?" Jack asks looking at Lucy; he sits in front of her.

"I am a burden here. I mean that your master is spending food in me and he certainly not wishes to spend money in a dog that is not his, besides my pedigree is not good like yours." Lucy says while she looks at Jack. He does a face while he laughs smoothly.

"Come on, you already saw that my master has plenty of money." Jack says looking at Lucy.

"He will not do that, but if you believe that he goes to throw you. Why don't you stay and do you see it by yourself?" Jack says looking at Lucy. She looks at him with surprise; Jack seems to be sure that his master will allow her staying.

"Besides you do not know me, you do know nothing about me." Lucy says looking at Jack.

"Then let me know you, and I do not care about your pedigree. It is not important to me, you know it. " Jack says looking at Lucy in a friendly way, she looks at him and sees that he smiles at her gently.

"Let's go inside, but if you want we can sleep out here."Jack says making a grimace.

"Let's go inside." Lucy says smiling smoothly. Jack looks content and nods lightly. Both again walk towards kitchen's door.
