Very short story detailing the end of anthropomorphic life from one wolf-girl's vantage.

She sat huddled against the concrete wall watching the flurry of activity before her.

"20 minutes to activation," a speaker blared above making the remaining humans redouble their efforts at moving.

The long endless lines of humans were now down to trickle interspersed with shelter workers moving and talking about who knows what. To her left was the long tunnel to the underground shellter where the humans would protect themselves for the radiation bursts. One of thousands of shelters around the world.

Wolves like her were not welcome.

The humans had tried for millenia to rid themselves her kind. Ironic she thought that the humans were afraid of the wolves for exactly what they themselves were now doing.

A man approached her and she cowered back into the corner, barricading her emotions from him, her only weapon. Homeless, living on the streets for the last 10 years, she knew exactly what he wanted.

He dropped to his knees in front of her and unzipped his pants withdrawing his erect penis. She did not look at it, nor him. He pushed her skirt up and began fucking her.

She held still, not enjoying his attention, but not screaming either. she had endured these rapes since she was 12. She tried selling herself on occaasion, but now the humans just took what they wanted and screaming for help only brought more who wanted the same.

The man climaxed and pulled out of her too quickly, spreading his semen across her fur and the concrete in front of her. He zipped up quickly and fled down thee tunnel without so much as a word.

"5 minutes to activation," the speaker blared as the last humans entered thee tunnel and sealed the door.

She thanked the man that had just raped her for giving her another reason for wanting to die.

She stood and ascended the short staircase to the surface. Outside it was a beautifully sunny summer day. The planet, for however brief a time, finally belonged to them. Safe from the humans, she began walking along the park, shedding her clothing as she went. Runniing in the open field, her mind at last freed from the prison that had held her all her life.

The sky behind her flashed an impossible brightness. She did not turn to see it, she would enjoy the day for as long as she had.
