#1 of Isaiah's Short Stories

Extremely short fan-made story of...two people...from a thing...that isn't very popular! Yeah! That! And the cover art was supported by Brief! I used it without his permission. :D

I awoke peacefully. I wasn't sure where I was, but wherever I was, it was warm and soft. I expanded my arms to stretch out, but a different pair tightened around me and restrained my limbs. My eyes shifted upwards and spotted a purple poodle. The memory suddenly came back to me. His voice. His arms. The dampness of his fur. His smile. I stopped myself from disturbing his sleep and lay still, taking in the sensational smell of him. It was beautiful.

We were on the floor, the poodle's back to the wall. He had just left his shower and was draped in a large, silky robe, just as cozy as he was. I pulled myself closer to him and wrapped my arms further around his back, careful not to wake him up. When he responded with a slight smile, I exhaled quietly and smiled back. I remembered more of the previous night. The poodle caressing my head, me scratching his back. I know he had said something to me, but I was too tired from the day of school to take note to it. All I remember is his sweet, comforting, soft voice.

His warm breath stroked my face. It smelled fresh and clean and made my whiskers melt. Even in sleep, he looked graceful and beautiful with the fur on his head just barely hanging over his eyes. I wanted to touch him. To lift my hand and push the fur behind his ear. I wanted to kiss him. But I left him alone. I kept my paw snug behind his back and continued to look onto his brilliant face. I wondered when he was going to wake up. When I'd get my next chance to see his shining eyes. For the time being, I closed my own and gently pressed my nose against his, keeping myself from stealing a swift peck on the lips. I held control of myself easily enough and felt myself drift into another world. One where the world was quiet. One where it was just he and I. One where we held onto each other forever. One where I slept blissfully in his arms.
