As Easy As It Sounds
I awoke. I didn't remember going to sleep,or getting in bed,or even taking off my clothes. I sighed,sat up,stretched and yawned. I looked around remembering how I had been given a job and how I lived here now. I looked around and noticed a small clock on my nightstand which read exactly 8:00am. I got up and out of bed. After quickly getting dressed and lazily making the bed I simply walked out of the room into the hallway.
As soon as I walked out I was instantly startled and flinched backwards as a black wing instantly moved in front of me. As soon as I realized who it was I turned to Giratina. She had a look of enjoyment on her face.
"Well then finally awake are you? Come on breakfast is downstairs in the dining room,ill show you the way."She said before quickly walking off with myself following.
I followed and she led me downstairs and into a new portion of the house that I hadn't seen. IT was a large dining area on the west side of the house,it was empty besides the two of us. I noticed the red and gold painted table cloth and four plates filled with food on the table. As soon as I walked up to one plate Giratina stopped me. She shook her head and led me to a different plate that was closer to another. I just rolled my eyes,she probably wanted to discuss something with me. So I politely sat down next to her and waited.
"You may start eating if you want,I assume you already know why I wanted you to sit next to me."Giratina said waving her hand in the air
"So im starting today."I stated
"Yes you are,and I just wanted to get you up to speed. First off we will be leaving in a few days."She said
I looked at her."So soon? But I just got here."
"May I remind you that I did say we would be traveling, and it was stated in the contract you signed. But yes we will be leaving to the capitol of Gracemaria in three days time. By then I have scheduled some work for you,mainly just some organization,and files to keep track of,also I need some emails sent to specific people mainly other top political figures,and some simple work after that."
"That it?"
"For now,im not giving you much as I just hired you. But I will be giving you more in the future. After breakfast if you could I would like you to start when possible and have it all done as quickly as possible. After that you may do whatever you want. Oh and let me not forget,here is your first payment."
Giratina reached into her robe and pulled out a small check. I just frowned and took it but didn't read it.
"And whats keeping me from just going and leaving?"I asked
"You are under contract,and failure to cooperate will mean a jail sentence."She said quite sternly
"Hmph all right,well I might as well start."I said before trying to get up. I was quickly pushed back down by Giratina.
"No no stay I wish you to meet the other two more properly,and besides its little work you will be able to finish quickly and you haven't even eaten a bite."
I just shook my head but complied. She smiled that wicked smile of hers and started eating. I just shrugged and started to nibble on some bacon. It wasn't long before I heard heavy footsteps. I turned to the doorway and wasn't to surprised to find the Blackwargreymon from yesterday appearing.
He just moved about to another plat and sat down completely ignoring us. Then he started eating without a word. From the look on his face he seemed tense and pissed off. I just shrugged and continued to eat in silence. IT wasn't to much later when I heard another set of footsteps. These where much lighter.
After a few moments a blue shark girl walked through the doors and sat down at the only vacant seat with a meal next to it. She seemed in a world of her own and like the wargraymon she just sat down and started eating.
It wasn't what I would call a meet and greet,but I just shrugged one last time and finished my meal. Once I was done I moved to get up but again I was stopped.
"Please stay and meet them once they are done."Giratina whispered to me.
I did the only thing I could do and waited. It only took a few minutes at most before the Blackwargreymon was finished with his meal. Once he realized he was out of food he simply gave a deep grunt and looked up for the first time. IF his posture didn't say it his face did,he was rather annoyed,or maybe he just wanted to look that way.
"So you took the job. Heh I never expected a human to accept being a pawn in our game,let alone being a small time assistant for Giratina. I assume she kept you here to formally meet us. IF that's the case you can call me Grey,its shorter than Blackwargreymon. Hopefully you aren't stupid,or maybe you are for taking the job."HE said with a small scowl on his face.
I just sat there deciding that he was just trying to be rude and accepting it. I just sat and waited. After a short minute Grey smiled and gave a small laugh that sounded rather deep and disturbing. Then he gave a small smile and outstretched his arm over to me."Im just fucking with you,welcome aboard hope you stay and like it here. Well go on,shake it I thought this was how humans greeted each other."
I felt rather surprised at his sudden change in attitude but none the less took his hand and gave it a shake. He seemed satisfied and gave a wider smile."Sorry about calling you some names yesterday I honestly didn't expect you to take the job plus I was in a bad mood unlike today. Anyways hope to see you around soon but im sure you have work to do now."
Grey stood from his chair gave another rather disturbing smile and walked off with his plate in his hands. I then turned to the shark girls who I realized was watching.
"Don't mind him you will get to like him and his creepy ways,im Azule and you probably noticed im a Garchomp. Grey runs security when on trips and I run most everything else for Mistress Giratina,you will probably be seeing me much more,but I have some business to attend to regarding our trip to Gracemaria." Azule said before picking up her plate and walking away.
Giratina seemed satisfied."And they are my employees,like you. Now if you are ready I suggest you get upstairs to the vacant room on the west side,i have prepared you your work which you will be doing and finishing over the next three days."
I nodded. I started to walk and was soon out of the dinning area. Giratina followed me as I climbed the stairs. I assume she just wanted to make sure I found the right room. I stopped myself at the end of the hallway where there was an unmarked room. I assumed this was to be where I was going to work. I opened the door and was met by a rather plain room. It had regular white walls with nothing on them,A dusty untouched floor and desk with an turned off computer,a single window,and one computer chair. I looked around it for a second and just shrugged slightly.
"Your work currently is on the computer, Like I said there are certain files that need to go to certain people in emails. That is what I will have you working on today. The instructions will be again on the computer. I will check up on you in some time."She told me before she turned and left the room.
I waited for a second,then I walked behind the desk and booted up the PC. It took a minute to get fully operational at which it did a standard boot up procedure before finally showing me a blue empty screen with a start menu at the bottom and a single icon for the internet browser. I assumed other programs where either yet to be installed or under the start menu icon.
I however did not see any instructions on the screen. For a second I considered going to Giratina,but I then ignored that as I had barley used the thing. I clicked the start icon and a small menu popped up. I scanned the different options noting how there was a system settings,memory tab,several useful applications such as a writing document,and a calculator.
It wasn't hard to figure out then. I clicked the word document creator and almost instantly a tab appeared with a blank page with all the useful things to create a word document. I clicked on a small tab labeled 'files' on the top of the page and found there was a recent file labeled 'instructions'. I clicked it.
In it was several pages worth of prepared emails and where they where to be sent to. I scanned the pages but found nothing that was remotely interesting to me other than that most of them where for the trip in three days. Though there where a few files that where attached to the emails,but I didn't bother snooping into things that didn't involve me.
I quickly opened the internet browser,and through a set of instructions also listed on the word document,opened an email provider and put a set password and email provided for me. I started my work. It was easy to take the files and paste them and their contents into several different send email links and with the instructions provided I sent them to several different emails. I had no idea who it was being sent too as all of them used aliases rather than a public email address,but I paid no attention to that.
After making sure that the emails where sent to the right places and double checking I had found that I had completed the task in under 30 minutes. I sent the emails and found myself just sitting there. I had finished. I spent some time thing on how easy this was,then I spent it thinking of why it was so easy,then I spent a few minutes staring at the now blank screen.
It seemed almost to easy,but I didn't complain. I soon sighed and stood from my chair and walked out of the office. I wandered down to Giratinas office and knocked. After I hear her say "come in" I opened the door and was met face to face with her.
"I assume you finished then?"She asked
I nodded.
"Good,you may go."She said before turning back to her work.
I stood there."That's it?" I asked
"Yes."She said
"Nothing else?"I asked
"No nothing for now."She replied
I simply nodded and walked away. I don't remember how I got to my room,but all of a sudden I was there,sitting on the bed. I waited for something to happen for a short few minutes,then when I decided nothing would I lied back and closed my eyes feeling tired despite barley an hour had passed.
