#1 of the 'True' nature of...

A small scroll found containing part of a treaty by the famous Scholar Ser Arturian.

on the back some faded letters can barely be read; but most of them seem to be from a foreign language of some sort

It was found clutched in the bony remains of a dragon in an empty cave by the mountain side.

it is suspected this was left here by the local king a famous hero who was once said to have been compromising with the dragon until he came into town carrying the beast's false heart; proving not only his talent but his loyalty to his kind.

the king, however, refuses to comment on the scroll.

Dragons

though they may claim to be as any other creature when it comes to motivations and emotions they are wrong, or better put they are lying

all dragons, even those who fight for what you may consider a noble cause, are nothing but beasts born out of greed and pride.

Never is a dragon truly selfless, never is a dragon heroic; in the end they all desire something, and will manipulate and use others to that end.

They will put on masks of heroism, they will pretend to love, to care, to feel anger and sadness at something other than failing their ultimate objective.

When they get what they want they will abandon you and your cause, they will betray you if you stand in their way; their masks will be cast aside and the true intentions of those beasts will show.

Don't let yourself be swayed by their words, their gestures, their care; for under those eyes you may have exchanged glances of tenderness and thrust with lay nothing but vicious machinations and ploys.

Dragons are heartless soulless creatures and you, be you knight, peasant or king should never show them mercy.

At first chance you should tear the imitation they have for a hearth and destroy it, before the same is done to you by the tainted claws of the winged lizards.

And I repeat and reinforce my warning; even if it comes to pass that it has fully proven its loyalty and love towards you or your cause, you must still take care to eliminate the foul beast, for at the first sigh of a better cause, a better trinket to acquire it shall betray you.

Respectfully Ser Arturian, Head Scholar at the institute of Magic investigation.
