"Third seat Miyazaki!" yelled Captain of Squad 2, Nokitake, High Commander of the Seretei Stealth Force

"Yes, My Captain?" was the immediate and curt response from Sut?k?. Sut?k? was a very disciplined and powerful Shinigami. He had gotten out of the Soul Academy and ascended directly into the third seat of squad two. Everyone in the Soul Society knew he was one of the most powerful to have recently gone through the academy, none of them knew the source of his power. True to his name Sut?k? was generally quiet and self-controlled unless someone provoked him, in which case the latter would need to be sent over to Squad 4 barracks. For this very reason Sut?k? quickly gained the trust and admiration of many of his peers, including his Captain.

"I need you to go to the World of the Living and do a reconnaissance mission. It seems an unnatural amount of hollows have been spotted entering there from Wecomundo. You must be careful, they may be planning something."

"Understood. Is there anything else you would like me to know, Captain?"

"Yes, these hollows are all of a mid-grade Menos class. Rather than attacking the human souls right now they are forming a mass group in the center of the town. I have been authorized to send you and whomever else you think you will need, at my own discretion, to take care of this." Said Captain Nokitake with a slight amount of concern in her voice.

"Thank you Captain, and do not be concerned, I will not rush into any battles without the proper level of care..."

"Stop right there. You are not to enter any battles what-so-ever unless provoked by them making the first move. You may get involved if they attack any souls but dispatch the hollow quickly and move on. This is strictly a reconnaissance mission; report all your findings to me and the Head Captain. WE will decide what you do next, no one else." Interrupted Captain Nokitake with a slight hint of irritation in her voice.

"I understand Commander. I will not fight unless provoked otherwise or I am protecting one that needs it. May I now ask for those who may accompany me?" replied Sut?k?, he was slightly chagrined at his Captain's response but understood it was meant for the best interest of the Soul Society and accepted it.

"Yes you may, but I want you to choose no less than five Soul Reapers to go with you. You must also understand that the same rules apply to them that I have told you."

"Yes Commander, I will make it known to all that come. If they disobey they will have to deal with me first. As for those who will come with me I choose: Yojimbo Ichido, Hiroshi Fujimoto, Seiji Hamada, Shunsuke ichihara, and Amaya Kubota." Sut?k? chose these five people primarily for their great fighting abilities along with their abilities to stay hidden when needed and their ability to keep up with himself, and Yojimbo.

"Very well, I will notify their Captains and you should be ready to go by tomorrow afternoon at the latest. Oh, and before I forget Miyazaki..."

"Yes Commander?"

"You should no longer sneak off, I may end up sending someone to go find you and when I do, I don't think you will like my punishment very much."

"Understood Commander, it will not happen again."

The following morning Sut?k? waited, rather impatiently, near the Senkaimon for his companions to arrive. He was very anxious to just begin his mission, and has never enjoyed being delayed by those who did not understand his urgency. It did not matter to him that he had purposely showed up thirty minutes early so as to not be the last one. Finally, Yojimbo arrived followed by Seiji. They appeared to have been having a conversation that was cut short by their arrival and, judging by Yojimbo's look, Seiji had already been told to shut up a few times.

"Greetings friends, it is about time that you have arrived. You are twenty minutes late!" greeted Sut?k? with a hint of irritation and friendship in his voice.

"Ha!" laughed Seiji, "We are not late, my expedient friend, but it is you who are twenty minutes early." Seiji was a very energetic and jovial soul reaper. Being a Lieutenant of Squad eleven he was highly ranked.. A majority of the time he was prone to joking around, but when asked to or when he knew it was time, he would become serious to the point of an unnatural calm.

"We are sorry Brother, but Hamada here would not shut up enough to walk at a proper pace, and leaving him behind would be disrespectful to my superior officer." apologized Yojimbo rather contritely. Yojimbo was a rather quiet person who was not afraid to speak his mind, this being very similar to Sut?k? it may explain part of why they got along so well; In fact to eachother they are nothing less than brothers. Skilled at Hadoo and swordsmanship he is very deadly in combat, unless you can somehow overpower him.

"Don't worry Yojimbo; you are not the last to arrive. Hopefully the others will be here soon so we may begin our mission." Replied Sut?k? with a slight smile and nod of acknowledgement.

"By the way Sut?k?, what is our mission? All I know is that I have been cleared to go with you and follow your orders on some strange matters occurring in the realm of the living." Asked Seiji somewhat irritated at his lack of knowledge and the need to defer to a lower rank for orders.

"First off, Lieutenant, you know very well that had there been an opening in any squad I would have been a lieutenant and so would Yojimbo. Secondly, I do not wish to have to repeat myself, so you will have to wait until the others have arrived and we are in a secure location for this mission is Top Secret. Lastly, we are all on a level playing field here for all of my orders come straight from my captain. If you have any problems I suggest you leave now and I will find a replacement or leave without a fifth." Responded Sut?k? without the least bit of concern towards holding back his anger at the Lieutenants disrespect.

During this argument the other soul reapers, Shunsuke Ichihara and Amaya Kubota, arrived ready to leave for the World of the Living.

"Where is Hiroshi Fujimoto? He is late and we must leave as soon as possible." Asked Sut?k?.

"He was not cleared to go, instead the Head Captain is sending someone else to our destination. They apparently do not know that we Shinigami will be meeting him." Replied Hamada with a slight perception of irritation in his voice.

"Fine, if the Head Captain believes this is best I will honor it then." he says then chuckles to himself as he recalls Seiji's desire to know the mission from before, "You know, Lieutenant Hamada, this means you must wait for your answer to your previous question."

Sut?k? smiled slightly as he turned towards the Senkeimon and signaled for the keepers to open it as he thought of who the Head Captain had chosen over Fujimoto. Lost in thought he began to walk forward, but stopped when he sensed someone suddenly standing in front of him. Without looking up he knew it was Amaya Kubota. He had forgotten she had not arrived yet, due to her quiet nature.

"You have forgotten about the only one in this party who has some sense in her mind, Sut?k? Miyazaki." she says as she shakes her head part in disbelief and part in jest. "I would have thought better of you, but I see you were rushing Yojimbo again, so I can see where your lack in judgment came from."

Growling slightly, Sut?k? did not reply to her jest but instead gave a simple, "I am sorry for my oversight Amaya." then sidestepping her and continuing towards the Senkeimon he added, only half jokingly, "Now if you please we would like to be off by now, and as always we men are being held up by a woman."

Chuckling softly to herself, she joins everyone behind Sut?k? as they walk through the Senkeimon to the World of the Living. On the other side there was a strange spiritual pressure nearby, that they had never felt before.

" Sut?k?, were you told about this strange spiritual pressure? Is this what we are here for?" asked Seiji, as he loosens his zanpaku-to in it's sheath.

"Yes." was the simple reply as Sut?k? began to just sit cross-legged on the ground his zanpaku-to floating vertically in front of him, as he worked to trace the strands of the unusual pressure.
