It was a nice morning in the castle.
Shire woke up and yawned, he sighed and yawned knowing that today was going to be a long day.
A few weeks ago the princess had gotten a letter from the CMC's asking if they could clean the castle to see if there cutiemarks where in cleaning.
The princess said that it was fine, however shire wasn't told until the last few days leading up to the event.
Sadly he knew the princess so this wasn't unexpected news but a bit of a surprise.
As he got out of bed he got three brooms and mops and then some buckets, he knew that first of all he'd have to teach the CMC's how to clean thankfully his area was quite safe to start.
As he came up he saw the three fillies waiting at the gates, making silly faces at the guards.
He smiled and opened the castle doors.
"good morning fillies please"
His sentence was cut off as the three ran past him and started to clean the floor badly.
The orange filly was moping the floors but getting water everywhere.
The white filly was dusting a very priceless vase which she dusted hard making some of the paint flake off.
The yellow filly was cleaning the carpets with a broom making one hell of a dust storm.
"stop please stop that's not how you do it!"
Shire said grabbing all there cleaning items with his magic.
"first of all you need to learn how to clean stuff, not just go at it wily Nelly"
He said, he then teleported them into a room where three desks where.
"now first of all you need to learn how to use a broom, you sweep the dust and dirt in the carpets to the side like so"
He showed them and then handed the broom to the white pony.
She did what he said but left a load of dirt in the carpet.
The yellow filly just made another dust cloud which made the carpet more dusty.
The orange filly got a bit too cocky and swept the carpet with speed leaving no dirt or dust and no carpet there was a hole.
Shire sighed and then produced a mop and a bucket, he showed them to dip it in the water then rinse it out and start to mop in finger of 8's then to move next to it, he showed a dirty area of marble floor and then showed a clean bit where he had cleaned.
Again all three fillies did what they had seen but badly.
The white filly left water everywhere.
The yellow filly did well but left dirt marks.
The orange filly moped but too fast knocking over the bucket.
Shire sighed and moved onto the bedroom, it was now time to clean under the bed.
He had a broom that was in the shape of an L, he lifted one side of the bed and pushed it as far under as it went, then pulled it out showing dust and wing fathers which the shire kept.
He handed the broom to the yellow filly who did it right.
The orange filly pulled too hard and got a face full of dust.
The white filly did it will but sneezed and made the dust go everywhere.
Next was tidying up, celetia's room was quite untidy.
The yellow filly put away some books but forgot to put a book mark in.
The white filly put all the paper in the bin but didn't check which where scrap and which ones where important.
The orange filly zoomed around with the broom and mop but skidded and crashed into the bathroom.
Thankfully that's where the next cleaning was.
Shire showed them how to use the plunger to un-block the loo.
He then showed then how to scrub the bath tub, he then showed how to clean the princess shampoo's.
The white filly did well un-clogging the loo making it flush great.
However the yellow filly got boarded scrubbing the tub, so speed up the process by pouring some water into the tub and added soap suds.
The orange filly cleaned the tops of the shampoo bottles and marked where they each where, so that the princess could see if Luna was using her shampoo.
The orange filly dropped a bottle and bubbles poured everywhere over the side to which they started to have a soap fight.
Shire sighed stopping it and sitting them in there seats, he then sighed.
"you lot are the worst cleaners, you now know that you have doubled my work load! Not only have I got to clean the castle I've now got to clean up the mess you've made"
He stamped each one with a red X on there hoof.
"CMC's aren't cleaners, if they where I'd be the cleaner for them!"
Shire sighed and teleported them outside the castle doors.
All three looked at each other and sighed, they then walked to a shop to get something to eat.
As they sat at the table they saw shire, he had bags but then they saw him go behind a bush and disappear.
They went over to the bush and saw a door in the floor, they opened it and looked down at the steps.
They went down and saw the cobwebs bugs and rats running around, they then heard music.
They followed it and soon went from stone floor to wood, they then saw a room.
They looked and there was shire writing.
"okay so I've got the bubble bath stuff, I then need to clean the water up and then clear the dust, then sort the papers and find the book that the princess was reading"
He got up and sighed the three hid in the darkness.
Once shire was gone they looked into the room, it was quite big, there was a bed, a strange silver thing and a red thing on top of that with two wooden boxes at the sides.
The window was dirty the writing desk was too, the floor was covered in food and dust, the on sweet bathroom was too.
"I know, lets clean this room and show that we can be good cleaners"
Said the white filly,
They all nodded, as the white filly got the bathroom the other two got the room.
The white filly cleaned the bathroom making sure it was as white as her.
The yellow filly cleaned the writing desk checking the papers and putting them in a neat pile.
The orange filly swept under the bed finding a lot of dirt and dust and fathers.
Next they moped the floor and then cleaned the window.
In the mean time shire using his magic used some time travel to look at what celetia was reading, and the notes the bathroom was an easy fix thankfully.
He then mopped the floor the right way and under the bed.
After all that was done he sighed and went to his area.
As he walked down the steps he heard snoring,
"the rats are loud today but its coming from my area!"
He ran there and then saw
The CMC's where on the bed tried and looking a bit dirty, but his area was clean as the castle.
His bathroom was shiny white like it was just put in.
His music was clean, no dust on it, his writing desk, cleaned of ink and used paper.
The window light was coming though, not a grim light.
His floor no longer covered in fathers or dirt or food remains.
He then looked on the bed, all three CMC's where sleeping.
He smiled and put the blanket over them to keep them warm.
They then woke and looked at him.
"where sorry we didn't do a good job, so for payment we cleaned your area, hope you like"
They all said yawning and going to sleep, it was getting dark outside.
Shire smiled and teleported them back to there homes with a note attached to them.
The note read:
"the CMC's tried there hardest today to earn there cutiemarks in cleaning, sadly they didn't get them, they did however clean my area which was quite good, thank you, if you have some cleaning to do but don't want to do it yourself then call me, I'll do it but only once"
Shire smiled as he sent them.
He flopped onto his bed and sighed going to sleep as well, he knew that one day they'd get there cutiemarks even if it took them there whole filly hood.
