Riolu and Alex were standing in the middle of the alley, hugging each other. After apologizing, Alex carried a slightly red-eyed Riolu(from crying) in his arms. As both exited the alley, a voice echoed inside Alex's head. It was Riley's voice:

"You're gonna regret those words kid. Riolus are different than any other puppy.They take a lot of time and patience to domesticate."

"_Damn! Guess Riley was serious when he said that....I think I should be more careful around Riolu...treat him with more care...." Alex thought silently. _

Alex was drifted in his thoughts when Riolu started sensing something in his aura. The infant didn't know what was it, though...it felt...like...like waves....waves of emotions. But these weren't happiness nor enjoyment...they were a mixture of preoccupation and slight anger. "I guess what I did was really wrong...." Thought Riolu.

Alex then felt a little paw touching his cheek. He looked down to see Riolu with a questioned look on his face. "Oh right! Riolus can sense peoples feelings! Remembered Alex. "Um...Don't worry sweetie. Im fine! Why don't we head back home and get going,ok?" Riolu nodded and a big smile formed in his snout! Soon enough, Alex was grabbing his bike and started ridding back home with Riolu in his lap.

After 15 minutes of biking, Alex and Riolu made their way home. Alex was exhausted from the ride. He begged and pleaded Riolu for a quick nap before parting, but the pup started growling and pouting. Alex eventually agreed and grabbed his bag. When he headed down stairs his mom stopped him.

"Do you have everything you need?"

"Yes mom."

"Pokeballs? Potions?"

"Yup!"

"Underwear, swim suit,shirts, blankets?"

"Once again, yes I have everything..."

"Did you pack the traveler kitchen set we gave you!?"

"Yes!!! For gods sake stop worrying so much, I have everything!"

"...ok fine....how many money do you have?"

"About $500 in cash and $2000 in my account."

"Ok thats enough....if you need more call us!"

"Yes I know...but I think I have everything covered for the week"

"Ok....BYE!" Alex's mom gave him a tight hug.

"Oh and Riolu! Take care of my son!" Said the woman.

"Ri riolu!!!" Shouted the little puppy. As Alex walked to the door, his excitement started building up. It felt like it was his first time. He opened the door and went out. His adventure was about to beg--

"DO YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE AND POKEDEX???!!!"

"DAMNIT WOMEN I SAID I HAVE EVERYTHING!!!!!" Alex screamed in reply to his mom. He continued walking when Riolu jumped from his arms and sat on the seat of the bike, waiting for him.

"What you doing pup? You thought I was gonna drive you everywhere? Nope! We're walking from here on!" Riolu gave him a puzzled look, but then jumped off the seat and followed him. Riolu grabbed Alex's hand as both exited the neighborhood. Now the adventure could begi--

"Hey!!! Alex!!! Screamed a feminine and familiar voice.

"Ughhh what now!?!? Huh? Oh Jenny!"

"What's wrong with you! Leaving and not saying good bye to your neighbor!?"

"Oops...I kind of forgot..."

"How do you forget to say goodbye to your friends?"

"The same way you forgot me..." Said Alex.

*awkward silence*

"Ok...cut that off!"

"Sorry...it slipped out..." Said Alex shyly. "Well, anyway....goodbye!" Alex was about to turn away when Jenny interrupted him again.

"Hey wait!"

"What?" Alex questioned her.

"I was about to ask you to battle me!"

"Battle you...like...right here, right now?"

"Yup! Got a problem with that?"

"No...but I'm supposed to leave now..."

"Oh I see...you're scared to fight because you know you cant beat me!" Said Jenny in a show off tone.

"Scared of you? You're way out of your league! I can beat you!" Said Alex

"Prove it then!"

"Fine! One battle!"

"Thanks!"

"Ugh, why is that you always get what you want?"

"I don't know...you tell me!"

Both teenagers walked towards the field, smiling and laughing at the same time.

"Alright! This is a one on one battle! Once your Pokemon is knocked out, the winner is defined!" Screamed Jenny across the arena.

"Seems good to me!" Alex replied.

"Alright, enough with the talking, lets start fighting!" Jenny tossed a pokeball into the air, which fired a bright blue light. As the sparkled faded out, a light pink mammalian pokemon appeared out of the light.

"So she's using Espeon...my best shot here is Prinplup, but he still cant use that water pulse...Riolu is too inexperienced and weak....and the last time I battled Jenny, Espeon used her psychic powers to control Ponyta's flames...ok I'll go with Staraptor!"

"For crying out loud just choose someone!" Screamed Jenny in excitement as Alex though about it. Alex grabbed Staraptor's pokeball, but when he was about to call him out, a furry paw grabbed his leg.

"Huh?"

"Rio-Rio!"

"Umm you want to battle?"

"RI!" Riolu nodded and smiled to Alex.

"Are you sure?"

"RI RIOOOO!" The puppy growled as if saying he could handle it.

"Riolu you dont understan,I've battled Espeon before, she's strong..."

"RIOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"the growling became louder.

"Ok ok! Chill! Fine...Lets do this!" Exclaimed Alex!

"Excellent! Alright Espeon start off with confusion!" Espeon's ruby jewel in her forehead started shining, and a stinging pain overtook Riolu! It was a slight pain, he had been through worse...but for some reason, it was hard for him to concentrate. "Now Espeon use psybeam!"

"Riolu doge it!" Commanded Alex. Espeon opened her mouth and a colorful, circular shots and beams fired from it. The attack came very fast, but Riolu was able to doge it.

"Use tackle!" Riolu heard and obeyed his trainer, as he charged at full speed towards the sun pokemon. Jenny didn't even gave an order and Espeon had already avoided the attack!

"Really!? Are you even taking this seriously?" Asked Jenny in a mocking way, "that was a very predictable move!" She concluded. "Alright Espeon, use shadow ball!"

"You think this is predictable? Well...watch and learn honey! Riolu! Quick use counter!"

A shadowy bulb started forming around Espeons mouth and Riolu's blue body started shining a bright orange-red color. Espeon launched her attack at the target, but to her's and Jenny's surprise, Riolu reflected the orb. Shocked, Espeon didn't have time to react and soon felt the ghostly shadow ball explode on her body. The sun Pokemon was sent flying across the arena, and landed roughly on the dirt.

"What the hell was that!?"

"You didn't see that one coming did ya? Alex said,sounding cocky.

"Ughh! Espeon get up and use confusion once again!" Espeon soon got up and her jewel turned a bright wine color. Again, Riolu felt his head aching and fell to his knees. "Now that his distracted, use shadow ball." Riolu didn't had time to react. The orb struck right in his stomach. "Now tackle it and use psybeam!" Espeon obeyed and charged towards Riolu.

"Now, jump!" Screamed Alex. Riolu took a big jump and landed on top of Espeon. One more second and Espeon would have ran him over! "Now punch her in the back!" Riolu heard Alex's commands and started fisting and kicking Espeon.

"Espe!!!" Cried the pink Pokemon as she collapsed to the ground.

"Great job Riolu!"

"Not so fast! Espeon use psychic!" Screamed Jenny

Soon, Espeons translucent pupils started glowing a light blue shine, and around Riolu's body, a force overtook him. To the puppy's shock, he was lifted in the air. He was levitating!

"Now smash him against the trees!"said Jenny. Espeon heard her trainer and launched Riolu towards a group of near by pines.

"RIO! *smash*RIOLU!!!*smash*. The dog screamed in pain as he felt the branches hit his snout and head. He began to cry hysterically. He couldn't control his own body, and his opponent didn't even had to touch him to inflict pain.

"STOP IT YOU'RE HURTING HIM!" yelped Alex!

"You know the rules! Until he faints, the battle is still on!"

And so the puppy was smashed into the tree one final time before fainting. As soon as she realized this, Espeon landed Riolu carefully on the ground. The next thing happening was Alex running towards the dog.

"Oh god Riolu are you ok? Does it hurt too much?!"

"Rio..." The puppy had an exhausted look on his face. But to Alex relieve, Riolu shook his head saying it wasn't that bad. Alex grabbed his bag and pulled a hyper potion. As he sprayed the healing medicine, Jenny approach him.

"I'm so sorry! I got hyped by the battle I forgot he was just a baby!" Jenny apologized.

"Don't worry he will be fine. Just a couple of potions and a good nice nap will make him good as new!

"Are you sure?"

"Yup!"

"Ok....um...well...I guess you should get going of you want to leave today...The sun is starting to set in."

"Yes, I'm leaving right know..." Said Alex silently.

"Well...I think this is goodbye.." Said Jenny, also silently.

"Yeah...for now."

As Jenny and Alex continued talking, Riolu started falling asleep. A few last words slept out of his mouth as he closed his eyes: "Im sorry! Im so sorry master!"

RIOLUS DREAM:

*Slash*IM SOO SORRY I PROMISE I WONT LOO--*Slash*! OUCHHH PLEASE STOPPP, IT HUR--*slash*.

Poor little Riolu was having nightmare...and it was a very dislikable and familiar dream. It was like living all over the last weeks. He lost all his battles and got beaten up...his bruises got worse, his open wounds dripped large amounts of blood...and the scolding of the human teared his heart apart....Jason was a cruel human being...but what was different from this dream...was the human....there was no Jason...but an angry Alex swinging an old wooden and blood filled bat against the puppy...

*Slash*IM SOO SORRY *slash* PLEASEEE I CANT TAKE IT ANY MORE!!!*slash* I BEG YOU!!!*slash*....*slash*..*slash*..*slash*..*slash*..*slash*.*slash**slash*!!!

(END OF DREAM)

The little puppy suddenly woke up and opened his eyes. The nightmare was over..... He found himself to be covered by a huge cream-color blanket. But it wasn't a blanket. The fabric had been raised by a metal stick, it was almost like a little shelter.after gazing at his surroundings for quite a while, Riolu then noticed he was in a tent....and he wasn't alone. As he started to rise from his comfy bed, he realized he was on top of Alex! The dog soon blushed at the sight of his trainer. All this time he didn't notice he was laying on Alex's chest. The little puppy felt the humans warm breath on his snout, and his heart beat relaxed him a lot. After such a dream, what he needed was to be comforted...and Alex's calm pulse worked just fine. Riolu soon started to feel drowsy again, but decided he had enough sleep. He wanted to get up quick and unnoticed, in order to not wake Alex up. He backed down from Alex's chest, but when he was about to jump, he felt something poke his rear. Riolu slightly turned his head back to see a big bulge on Alex's groin. Riolu was intrigued by this, he had seen Alex in his underwear before and he had never seen such a bulge down there. He carefully turned his whole body, he was face to face with Alex crotch. The puppy started sniffing and sniffing. He picked up Alex's scent right away. He kept staring at it and then he gently grasped it with his paw. He heard Alex moan softly and turned his head towards him. Scared, Riolu backed away and jumped off of Alex. He saw his human partner sleep comfortably for a while, when a scream startled them both!

"SOMEBODY HELP ME! CATERPIE DONT WORRY! I WILL FIND YOU! SOMEBODY PLEASE STOP HIM!" Said an unknown voice.

"What the hell!?" Exclaimed Alex as he woke up. Both, puppy and owner reached out and look into the woods, were a small boy was screaming hysterically at a shadow in the sky. Alex, dressing quickly,ran up to the little boy, Riolu following behind.

"Hey hey hey! Whats with all the screaming!"

"Huh? Oh I'm so sorry but I have a REALLY BIG problem! That flock of Murkrow stole my Caterpie!"

"What!? A flock of Murkrow!?"

"Yes! They flew north from here! Please help me! That pokemon is not even mine! I have to get it back!"

"RIO!" The puppy exclaimed in affirmation!

"Sure we'll help you! Staraptor come out!" Alex tossed a pokeball in the air, from which a bird pokemon emerged. "Staraptor! Follow that flock of Murkrow, we'll follow you behind!"

"Staraptor!" The bird chirped and flew up high!

"Alright, Ponyta you too, come out!" Alex grabbed a second pokeball and let the pony pokemon out. Alex helped Riolu onto Ponyta's back, and then extended his hand to help to the boy. The boy looked nervous and was not sure if he wanted to ride the fire pony.

"Don't worry, she wont burn you..." Said Alex reassuringly.

"Um....ok..." Said the boy shyly. As he grabbed Alex's hand and mounted the pony. His glasses almost fell from the boost. As Ponyta sprinted down, a fainted "Thank you" escape from the little boys lips.

It was around 7:30 and the night had set in Sinnoh. It was hard to see, but Ponyta's flames provided warmth and light for both guys and pokemons. They had been traveling down the hill for 10 minutes when a familiar chirp and "boom"called their attention.

"STARRR!!"

"Oh my god, Staraptor! Something hit him!" Alex exclaimed as Staraptor fell to the ground. Alex didn't even had time to go heal the bird pokemon when a Murkrow flew in their direction.

"DUCK!" screamed the boy! They all dodged the attack, but the dark bird returned for a second hit!

"Ponyta use flamethrower!" Suddenly a huge flare was fired from the pony's mouth and hit the bird Pokemon right in the chest.

"Thats one down!" Said the boy.

"Yeah of God knows how many!" Said Alex sarcastically. Suddenly a bright purple slash came from behind the group and smashed into Ponyta's back, making her trip and fall!

"Were the hell did that come from!?" Questioned Alex. Soon another night slash came, and the another and another and another.

"God how am I supposed to fight back if I don't see the opponent!?" Alex sounded desperate, but soon felt a little paw tug his pants. "Huh? Whats up Riolu?"

"Ri Rio!!" The puppy pointed to a dark space in between the trees. He was excited in a way.

"Thats it!" Screamed Alex!

"What!?" Questioned the boy.

"Riolu can sense peoples auras and emotions! He can track down were the Murkrows are!

"Really!? That is sooooo cooool!" The boy sounded surprised, and ignorant to Alex.

"Ponyta! Use flame blast in the direction Riolu tells you!" Ponyta obeyed and soon started blasting flares all over the forest. Hit after hit, all Murkrows were burned and knocked out in a matter of 5 minutes, thanks to Riolu's aura sensing abilities. Soon everything became quite. Too quiet actually.

"Something's not right....why would all the Murkrows back away?"

"Why would I know?" Responded the boy a little bit scared.

"RIO!!!!" Riolu started trembling and hugged Alex leg, he was full of fear.

"Sweetie whats wrong?" Asked Alex.

"R-R-RIO!!!" Riolu raised his paw and pointed in front of where Alex stood. Out of the darkness, a huge navy blue bird came out of the bushes. It had an unsettling presence. The huge dark bird just stood there, staring at the group of humans and foreign pokemon. His dark wine colored eyes inflicted fear upon all of them.

"Its a Honchkrow!" Exclaimed Alex in understanding as he pulled out his pokedex to check Honchkrows info.

Honchkrow, the Big Boss Pokémon and the evolved form of Murkrow. Honchkrow recruits many Murkrow to travel with it, and it spends much of its time at home preening its feathers.It is merciless by nature. It is said that it never forgives the mistakes of its Murkrow followers.

"So your the boss around here huh?" Said Alex.

"Honch!" Crowed the bird. Suddenly a uttered cry was heard, and a green wormed pokemon crawled from behind Honchkrow.

"CATERPIE!" The boy screamed and ran towards Caterpie to rescue him. This made Honchkrow very upset!

"HONCHKROW!"A violet light started surrounding his wing. Soon enough, the boss pokemon launched his night slash move!

"WATCH OUT!" Alex ran and pushed the boy out of the way. But that didn't pushed Riolu....

"RIOOOOOO!!!!"

"Riolu are you ok!?" The night slash was a direct hit on the puppy. The poor thing was smashed into a trunk of a tree.

"Ri" the puppy gave a tap on Alex arm and told him he was ok. He stumbled but got on his feet in no time.

"Ok, sweetie ready to fight?" Riolu nodded and started jumping, he was quite excited. This time he wouldn't loose!

"Alright! Use quick attack!

"Rio!" Riolu launched himself quickly, and in less than 2 seconds he had inflicted damage on Honchkrow. Of course, the Boss pokemon didn't like this.

"HONCHOOOOOOO!!!' The bird pokemon lifted himself high up in the air, and a dark orb with a purple aura formed in Honchkorw"s beak.

"Riolu watch out! He's using dark pulse!" Exclaimed Alex.

The bird pokemon expelled the dark pulse, and soon a black beam started destroying everything. The ray of shadows was too fast for the little pup as he tried to dodge.

"RIOOOO!!!" Screamed the dog as the beam hit his back. Again, the pup was smashed against another pine tree (this has become a bad habit :D) Riolu started seeing double. His body ached, he couldn't get up, but he could clearly see Honchkrow flying towards him, his wings shining bright white. This was it for him. Another hit, another lost battle, another let down for Alex. Riolu prepared to receive the hit when a voice appeared in his head:

"Concentrate young one. Use your mind and body to boost your aura. Focus. And you shall succeed..."

"Its you!" Exclaimed the puppy! "You're the one I saw in my dream yesterday!"

"Focus young one"

"He's gonna get me! And Im gonna let Alex down again..."

"No you're not! Concentrate!"

"What am I supposed to do! Im not strong enough!"

"Yes you are. Put your hands together, and let your aura flow."

Riolu did as told and extended his hands. He focused his mind. This was quite difficult considering that Alex was screaming and crying hysterically for Riolu's sake! Anyway! Riolu felt his surroundings disappear, and felt his opponents approach.

"Wait for it...wait for it..." Said the voice in his head. Honchkrow was some 15meters away from Riolu.

"Wait for it...wait for it..". Riolu concentrated even more.

"Wait for it...wait for it........NOW!!!

As the voice in his head screamed, Riolu felt a lightning eject from his palms. The force soon inflicted on Honchkrows head.

"HONCH!!!" The bird pokemon backed away and fell to the ground. He wanted to get up, but he felt his body stiffen.

"Riolu! Was that a force palm!?" Alex yelled.

"And look! Honchkrow is paralyzed!" Exclaimed the boy.

"Awesome!!!! Alright this is our chance! Use quick attack!" Riolu jumped high and struck on the dark bird's vulnerable head. With one last cry he fell silent and fainted. He was out for good. The flock of Murkcrow started to fly around their boss and landed on the ground surrounding him. After a good amount of work, the group of birds managed to pick up Honchkrow and fly away. A green worm pokemon was left behind by the flock.

"Caterpie!" The young boy jumped and hugged the worm pokemon. "Im so sorry I let you go! I promise you I will take care of you better the next time I'm trusted with you!"

"Glad to see you two reunited!" Alex smiled to the boy.

"Me too! But I still don't understand why Honchkrow took Caterpie away..."

"Well..my guess would be that Honchkrow was hungry...and since Caterpie is a worm and he is a bird....guess he wanted to eat your pokemon...." The boy was disgusted at the thought of Caterpie being eaten alive by a big boss bird.

"Eww! Thats so gross! Well, at least that didn't happened, or its trainer would have killed me...thanks sooo much for helping me!" The boy said.

"No problem, Riolu and I are happy things worked out for the best! Right sweetie?"

"RIO!" The puppy had a big smile across his face. As Alex and Riolu turned away to go back to their little camp, the boy intervened.

"Hey! Um....I didn't catch your name....." The boy said a little bit shyly.

"It Alex!"

"Rodrey!" Responded the boy as he shook hands with Alex. As both boys introduced themselves, Riolu heard the voice in his head again.

"Great job young one...look at him...can you sense his feelings?"

"Yeah...but I'm not sure what is it that he feels...is it happiness?"

"Not quite"

"Joy?"

"No"

"Then what is it?" Inquires the puppy? The jackal pokemon inside his head took one last breath, and with a faint voice he let it out.

"Pride..."
