Welcome to the new Earth.

Have fun with your new, depressing outlook! ^_^

I like the name "Stories" because instead of chapters, I am going to have more or less, journal entries by those experiencing this, or profiles, if you wish.

This could happen.

Watch out.

This is only the beginning.

Earth is dying. A bomb dropped. With that bomb, also dropped the final limb of the stark, naked tree that Earth's future and survival clung to. Another bomb. Now it is only a matter of time.

60 _percent of Earth lies an irradiated hell. _15 percent of all of the human population is deceased, and of the remaining 85 percent, only 60 percent remain human.

Government, economy, and even the opportunity for the most basic of human social interactions are now nonexistent. Government is what caused all of this - or rather, power-hungry militaries, pressured leaders egged on by a purposefully misinformed public, and egos backed by nations' macro-nationalism fueled pride. Needless to say, government fell first. The militaries sure as hell weren't going to intervene. They create the "mess" or, the biggest nuclear war travesty ever seen, and leave Earth's seven-plus billion people to deal with it. The military didn't exactly abandon their nation, they instead, destroyed themselves from the inside out, pointed-fingers eventually turned to pointed guns, which soon translated to rage-filled blood buckets filled to the brim of their supposed comrades until not a single soul remained.

Economy fought for survival for the first few years, but quickly found a grave as people began to lose their civility. Some companies produced survival equipment, medicine, and even food. Demand became too great, resources were all tainted, supplies quickly meeting ends. People began to realize, society was over, that they are the only ones that matter. Looting and robberies began immediately; murder manifesting itself not long after. Kill to survive. Kill for supplies. Kill over fear of contamination. Kill so you aren't killed.

Only one concept of economics still stands, teetering and gasping for it's last breath: mercantilism. Bartering to be more exact. If you give me this, you can have this.

Human's became savage, every conversation, meeting, simple greeting on the street, was carried out with a tense, fear-driven sweat through gritted teeth. The ultimate motive is survival.

This is normal now.

Happiness is just another word added to the large, ever-growing book of impossible that is rapidly becoming larger than the dictionary of western civilization itself.

Our dictionary has only three words.

_ Kill. Survive. Die._
