Darkness Relations

"Avila, what the fuck is going on again! Shit, the nightmare again! Avila, snap the fuck out of it! You're dragging me in!"

Although Yorloka was trying to take Avila away from the nightmare, Avila kept drawn into the nightmare, and worse, while the demon dragon tried to command his soul minions, he himself was greatly burdened by them, as he had no control over them.

Instead of fighting the urge of the nightmare, Avila let herself got even drawn into the lake, where a void of eternal darkness opened on the surface of the lake. The gaping nothingness watched the small dragon's body with its blank vision of obsidian gaze. But, Avila didn't let herself got drawn inside the nightmare if not for the soothing voice she heard.

"Come in, Avila, dear," said the feminine voice. "You know this is the thing you want."

"What the hell are you talking about? I don't even want to be inside a void!" replied Avila with a courage left in her. "I won't go back to the darkness! Not again!"

"Oh, but you're born inside it. It's only natural if you return to me..."

"Who the fuck are you?!"

"Who...or what? It doesn't matter, Avila. Come...and I'll show you true power of the darkness..."

Yorloka tried his best to run away from the nightmare around him while at the same time roaring every time he destroyed a soul with his claws (Yorloka could 'kill' souls permanently), although knowing they weren't real and his real soul minions were outside of the nightmarish, flesh and blood decorated realm.

The demon dragon shouted, "Avila, don't go into that void! That thing is a pure demonic energy!"

"I can't! It's like it's really the place I should've been in the first place!"

"It's a devil work...I mean, a vile work! Don't go in!"

The fact was, Avila was drawn inside both mentally and physically because of the siren-like voice she tried to resist. When she was trying to counter it with her fear power then she realized that it was something more than fear...something very, very ancient and powerful she never got in her entire life...older than her ancestral memory of being an Argoon dragon, as if it was made in the start of the world.

The powerful ancient fear power of the siren (well, it kept tempting Avila to go inside the darkness) had won its prize, as Avila had stepped to the lakeside, and dark hands had grasped her foreleg, starting to pull her into the darkness, when she and Yorloka heard another voice, the one more menacing than the darkness, coming from behind the black dragoness.

Meanwhile, Cynder was near the black forest trying to find a stray fox when suddenly she felt powerful darkness coming from inside the forest.

"The hell?"

The darkness became stronger and it was coming from the lake. Just as Cynder started to make the first beat to lift her draconic body up did she saw a familiar frightening dragon with snake-like appendage on its back.

"You? Are you that dragon with Avila?"

"Yes?" replied Cynder while trying to keep cool as not to reveal her fear to Yrelka. "Yes...but, why..."

"You sensed that, too, did you? You're a dark dragon, so don't try to hide that. We have to go to the lake."

"I know...but why? It's her usual..."

"No, I sensed viler power...it's like...it's like something more than a demon could do. Oh shit!"

"What? What is it?!"

"This...this...." Cynder almost couldn't believe when she saw Yrelka started to shiver and made painful expression on her draconic face. "This nightmare...it's coming back...."

"Nightmare?"

"Y...you have to get out...run..."

Cynder could hold the nightmarish amount of dark energy by tackling it with her own fear power, although she couldn't be sure how long. She had trained on flowing her energy to another dragon and she succeeded on helping Yrelka's semi-sentient darkness to understand the problem and helped possessing Yrelka to at least fly both to the main source of the darkness near the lake.

Once there, she was greeted by the raw energy wind force emitted from the black hole in the middle of the lake. The black hole was condensed like a single sphere in the center of the black lake, blending with the color if not for the constantly crackling surface with indicated its position. But the thing was, she was seeing a dragon standing on the water, with Avila nowhere to be seen and Yorloka unconscious near the lake's shore. The sight and the aura gave shivers to both dragons (at this point Yrelka had regained her consciousness), while the energy seemed to concentrate within the dragon standing on the water.

As it went closer to both dragons Cynder felt her body wanted to flee the powerful darkness, but she couldn't because she started to shiver, both in uncontrollable panic and the effect of the powerful darkness.

"S...shit, what the hell is that...thing...," thought Cynder while her back leg started to fold, as if it lost its energy by time. She tried to control her body, but she couldn't. In vain she shot the black dragon with her fear, but it seemed to not affect it. Next, she tried to claw it in hope of maiming it, but then her darkness seemed very weak with her current condition. She couldn't use corrosive poison as she was too weak, and her wind seemed deflected by it.

Without anything to even defend her from the onslaught of powerful darkness, she pleaded, "P...please...stop...y...you will kill us...."

But then, when it had stopped, it suddenly made a shriek which temporarily making Cynder deaf, before the dragoness saw what's happening in front of her eyes.

"You!! You'll pay for all the fucking thing you've done! I swear I'll make you suffer! Yes, I WILL MAKE YOUR GENERATION SUFFER!"

"Shut the fuck up!"

The demonic dragoness suddenly got chains all over her body, which immobilize her before it could make a scratch on Avila. It was wiggling like crazy, even emitting powerful darkness which was unbearable to Avila, but to the nightmare, it didn't affect it. In one last roar, the dragoness was dragged into the endless void similar to Avila's Emero Carought, and silence fell.

"Why do you save me? I thought you're haunting me inside my nightmare!" said Avila after she caught her breath.

"She's a powerful entity which was trying to claim your soul, Avila...which I'll do!!"

"Wait! You're the angel of death, right?! I'm sorry, I used the power that wasn't even mine, but please...don't take my soul. I still have to find Seraphor...at least once..."

The dragon became silence while Avila was closing her eyes in hope on the nightmare to at least hear her. Then she heard another chuckle, and a laugh, not sinister, yet still vile. She braved herself to open her eyes to see that the one laughing was the nightmare.

After it stopped, it grinned to Avila, before putting her claw through Avila's scales and into her heart. Without letting Avila to ask, she pulled her claw, giving the look of the darkened black heart Avila had as a result of being corrupted by darkness in front of the shocked dragoness. Before she seemingly lost her life, the dragon said, "Oh, but you're the angel of death now...my dear Avila...."

Meanwhile Cynder was terrified and would die if she didn't try to hurt the dragon figure. The dragon suddenly opened its emerald eyes and tried to strangle Cynder with its long tail. It almost succeeded if Cynder didn't spit corrosive poison to it. She even tried to blow the dragon with her wind, and grabbed it with her front paws to drown her, if not for another powerful blast of cutting wind that cut nearby high grass and some patch of the sand, leaving a clean cut as if cut by a saw. This made Cynder and Yrelka got both surprised and terrified at the same time. Cynder had never known any dragon except the black former master of her could cut things with wind, but then she knew the berserk dragon was none other than the wind dragon she knew for some time.

"Avila? Avila, is that you?" said Cynder while trying to dodge sharp darkness claws. She didn't have time to be surprised and countered it with her own darkness power while the semi-sentient dark energy over Yrelka tried to attack the claws, which made them dissipate.

"Avila, if you still can hear me, stop! You'll kill the ones you have said to be friends! You'll doom this realm where you'll be living and you'll make those Lights win! Goddamn it, Avila, just stop!!"

The dragon body had no reason to hear Cynder's plead, but then before the sharp darkness managed to hit Cynder, it dissipated, and the body fell to reveal Avila inside.

Or what Avila was, before she changed.

Her wings started to grow feather, black as a raven, yet still tolerate her draconic appendage under it. The dark dragoness also had some white linings over her obsidian-colored scales, making it looked like tattoo while it was just white scales making distinctive lines.

In horror, both Cynder and Yrelka saw the dragoness' tail started to split from the triangle tail tip, producing two differently muscled yet identical tails, lashing around wildly in random direction while Avila growled in pain when the split part started to re-grow. Her canine also had grown into something like a sabertooth, giving her a more menacing look.

The thing that made the onlookers very afraid was the fact that Avila had changed her curve white horn into a swirly spiral black horn. Worse, there were feathers growing near the horns over her head, giving her a more avian look and draconic combined into a set of creature no other dragons had ever seen before.

Just after that transformation did Avila woke up. Being dizzy at first, she quickly realized her transformation, and realized now that she had given the worst nightmare to the dragons in front of her.

As she looked into the now normal black lake did she realize herself, seen like the one in her dreams.

She's now a full death dragon.
