Employed to a demon
I did what was asked. I got up strictly at 9:30,did my daily routine and made my way to the address on the card. Luckily I had a map on me. The drive was a short one though. Soon I had come to the outskirts of the city near where I lived to a more forested area. I drove feeling nervous though,and couldn't keep still very well. My drive finished when I came to a small mailbox bearing the numbers on the card. I turned into a well paved driveway and was soon facing a gate. I stopped and found there was an intercom near it. I pulled up to it and rolled down my window and prepared to push the little red button on it.
There was a short beep indicating it was ringing before a voice came on.
"Yes,may I help you?"The voice on the intercom said sounding female but definitely not Giratina.
"Uhh im here on the request of Giratina. She said to be here by now."I replied back
After a few seconds of the voice not coming on again I noticed the gate opening so I just shrugged and pulled forward. Once through the gate I was in front of a more open area with evenly cut bushes,statues on pedestals, and a lush green expanse of grass. What caught my eye afterward was the semi big mansion build on the grounds. I drove in front of the garage and parked.
I got out and walked to the large door that was the entrance and rang the doorbell. After a few moments the door opened. The first thing I noticed was his muscular form and armor he wore. He stood seven feet tall and had skin as black as night. Atop his head was a mask that hid his facial features but I could still see his Blue eyes.
"Hmph stop staring kid,never seen a blackwargreymon before?"
"Uhh no..."I stumbled to say
"So you're the one Giratina picked for this little desk job,can't say im impressed. Oh well guess a little shrimp like you is better than none at all. Get inside Giratina's waiting and I don't have time to waste."The Blackwargreymon said
I listened and followed his order. Quickly walking inside and looking around slightly at the luxurious mansion before I was moved on by the digimon. We ascended some stairs in the main room and I was led to a large door with blurred glass. The digimon stopped and knocked twice. Seconds later I was greeted by the familiar form that was Giratina.
"Ahh so you came. That will be enough Grey you may go."She said to the digimon and I.
Grey gave a slight grunt and walked off.
"Come in Blake,I've been waiting."She said before I could ask how she knew my name I was hurried inside.
The room was an office,the basic desk,computer,filing cabinets,chair,everything. Giratina walked behind in the pointed to the seat on the other side.
"Please sit."
I sat down in the chair and focused on Giratina.
"I almost didn't expect you to come,but you are here and that's what matters to me. Now then to business. I assume you came to find out more on the job,correct?"she asked
I nodded.
"Good. I asked you to be here because I needed someone to manage things,this is true. I am in need of someone,who is human, to become a sort of assistant to myself. You already know the details on why. That is it.
I frowned"Uhh is that it? What will I be doing exactly,what kind of files will I be managing? Will I have to travel much? Will I be bound by some sort of contract?"
Giratina gave a small laugh."You will be managing not just any files,but important ones. As you know the recent discovery by your world that we exist is a very big one,you will be mostly dealing with thing that have to do with Human,Pokemon,Digimon relation. Like I said tensions are still there and many still believe that we are bad,same with your planet to some of us. Having you in this job will help ease that slightly but it also means you will have to handle documents relating to this issue. As a start I just want you make sure that the important things get to me and the unimportant things are left behind. You will also act as a personal assistant to whatever I am doing."
"Uhh ok but why trust this to some guy you just met?"I asked
"I have my reasons."
"Ok"I replied"What about the other questions?"
"Yes you will be traveling with me,mainly to the capitol. You will however be bound to a contract and employed under myself."
"May I know what im being bound to?"I asked
Giratina smiled and pulled out a piece of paper. On it was the contract I would be signing to accept employment,with its terms and a place to sign.
"You may read it through to see if anything seems dis-satisfactory."
I looked at her and then to the paper. I picked it up and started reading. It didn't say much,mainly it was just something to say I was under her employment as an assistant. I read it thoroughly. IT held things such as allowing to disclose information to Giratina relating to the job,what I would be doing, and other things such as health care benefits and payment.
All in all it didn't seem as hard as I thought it was going to be,i was expecting a form to fill out where I had to list any health problems or disabilities. I expected a more strict contract that would require things like email,phone number,address,date of birth,and so on. Simply I was expecting a something more like a resume.
"Umm nothing seems dis-satisfactory,but."I started
"But what?"Giratina asked
"Well I was expecting something different,i didn't expect to be actually signing a contract. I expected to have to list things like date of birth or address."I replied
"Mhm well it is what I have to offer,if you do not wish to take the job."
"Well I want the job,its just this seems a bit,odd. But since its the only job offer I've really gotten,ill take it."I said right after grabbing a pen and singing my name on the paper.
Giratina gave a wicked looking smile,which made me feel uncomfortable.
"Great. Well then if you wish,you may start now. I will provide moving for any things of value you wish to move from your apartment to."
"Wait what?"I asked
"Well I can't have my assistant living away from me,with my job important matters can happen any time so I need you close."She responded
"Umm well that's kinda sudden don't you think?"I said with an uneasy glance
"When you signed that contract you became employed under me,and I will remind you this is no laughing matter,i need strict devotion and work from you."Giratina said with a more serious face"This job will require more than you think and I plan on getting you at least settled in."
"Its just this is all so sudden. I don't know what to say."
"Do not worry im sure you will do fine. Now then if you wish I will send a truck to allow you to take any valuables from your apartment."Giratina continued.
"No need most of the things where stock and owned by the actual owner,i just need some time to get my clothes,pictures and small appliances."I said before she could finish.
"Great then ill see you in a while and ill get you settled in. You may go."
I nodded,and got up. I made one last glance towards her and left the room. I was soon back outside and in my car. I was quick to get it started and leave the premises. The drive back was peaceful,but I couldn't help shake the odd feeling I had about this whole ordeal. I arrived back at the apartment complex and made my way through the parking lot towards the managers house.
I got out and entered. Inside was a rather lush looking set of chairs to the side of a rather normal looking waiting room. There was a receptionist sitting behind a desk currently on the phone with someone. As soon as I walked up she said a quick goodbye and turned to me. She was an arbok,most noticeable by her purple skin and hood like head with several designs around it.
"Ahh you I just got off the phone with your employer,i assume what she said was correct? You are moving out yes?"
I nodded.
"Well then,as protocol you must vacate the premises within the hour and return your key here. Am I clear?"
I nodded.
"Good."She said before returning to her work.
I just shrugged and walked away leaving the building. I made the short walk to the complex I lived in and ascended to the floor my apartment was on. Inside I looked around and gathered the few things I actually owned. Most of the things being books,pictures,clothes,and whatever electronics I owned. I managed to find a small box to put it all in before finally leaving.
I returned my key and was quick to get my things into the car before I finally left for good. Again on the ride I couldn't shake the odd feeling I had,but I ignored it as best as I could. I arrived at the gate to find it already open waiting for my return. It was soon that I was at the main entrance ringing the bell with a small box in one hand carrying my things.
Instead of being met by the Blackwargreymon,i was met by Giratina herself. She smiled and welcomed me in."Now that you are here I might as well direct you to your room. Im sure you will find the accommodations quite nice."She said leading me up the stairs and past her office.
The room was a small room,but with a large bed,a closset,some drawers,and a night stand. The room itself was painted a dull gray and white while the drawers where a plain brown. The bed however was a vibrant red.
"This will be where you are to sleep when we are here. I expect you to start by at least tomorrow,if you have any questions you may ask me or Flare who should be in her office on the first floor. I expect a lot from you,and I hope you do not disappoint."Giratina explain and told me.
I nodded but said nothing.
"Good as I said if you need anything please tell me."She said before turning and leaving abruptly. I stood there for a few moments,and then turned to look at my room.
This was going to be,different.
