#2 of Tears Of A Fox

This is the second installment of the Tears of a Fox series. As aways, I dedicate this story to SPAMZZKRR, my idol and loyal friend. While this individual story might not have yiff in it, there will be a lot more in the next one.

Peace out! d(-_-)b

Pain.

Excruciating pain.

Pain beyond anything Chloe had ever felt.

Then she felt as if she was floating in a great void.

"This must be what the afterlife is like," she thought.

Then she heard someone sobbing.

She tried to look for where it was coming from, and then she realised that it was coming from every direction.

Then she was reliving the events of that fateful day.

Bound.

Raped.

Killed.

She suddenly screamed and bolted upright.

Her mum was sitting next to her, sobbing softly into a hankerchief.

"Chloe!" her mum screamed, "I'm so glad that you are alright."

She collapsed onto Chloe's shoulder, sobbing with renewed vigour.

"Wha-What happened?" Chloe asked, hesitantly.

"Well, wh-when I got home, I h-heard your music turned up really loud, as I asked you not to. S-so I went to see what you were doing, and I found you b-b-b-bound to your bed. There was a lot of blood on your bed, and I saw someone running away from the house as I pulled up, so I immediately called the police and an ambulance. I- I thought you were dead,"

With this, returned to sobbing uncontrollably on Chloe's shoulder.

Chloe felt around her neck, in the same place that the knife had cut her. There was nothing there.

"But I felt him slit my throat. I felt myself bleed. All over the bed. What happened to me? How long was out for?"

"You were brought in yesterday, and as for you being dead-" her mother started.

Suddenly a hansome fox wearing a doctor's uniform walked in.

"Thank God! You're awake. We thought that you might never wake up," The doctor exclaimed, "You might not remember me, I'm your pediatrician. Do you know what my name is?"

Chloe thought about it for a moment.

"Dr Marcus?" she asked.

"At least she hasn't suffered any memory loss. I'm sure that she'll ma-" He broke off in mid sentence.

Two badgers walked in.

"Um, can I help you?" Dr Marcus asked the pair of them.

The first badger stepped forwards and showed him a badge.

"I'm Detective Murphy, and this is my partner, Detective Harry. We're with the Special Victims Unit. Can we have a bit of time with Chloe so we can get to the bottom of this?"

"Well," Dr Marcus said, "she's in a stable condition for the moment, and she is concious, so I don't see the harm. Can you keep it brief though? She's been through a lot."

With that, he walked out of the room.

"Ok, now Chloe, can you tell us everything that happened to you? We'll understand if you don't want to," Detective Murphy said.

With that, Chloe recounted her story.

It was well after midnight by the time Chloe had finished.

"Well," Detective Harry said, "At least we know who did it."

"We do?" asked both Chloe and her mum at the same time.

"Yes, there have been a string of violent rapes like this over the past few months, over many different states, and all have been traced to one Boris Hermavic, the notorious rape-murderer. You're the first victim that we have seen that wasn't killed. I wonder why?"

"Well," Chloe started, not sure if she should reveal this certain piece of information, "he did, or at least, the tried to."

She then launched into another explanation.

"Well, that doesn't make sense," said Detective Murphy. Normally, he kills the victim, but here you are, after having your throat slashed, but still very much alive and unblemished.

"Ok, I'm going to show you some pictures of convicted rapists, and I would like to see if you recognise him."

Murphy then showed her several large cards, each with about a dozen pictures on them. She saw him on the third card.

"Yep, that's him," said Murphy, "that's Boris. At least we know he is in the area now. Or at least, he used to be."

Suddenly, her radio squaked. She picked it up and listened.

"Right, thanks," she said as she ended the conversation.

"Boris has been sighted in L.A., he must have help. You are in no danger now." she concluded.

With that, she, and Harry walked out the door.

Marcus then walked back in, and gave her a clean bill of health, and with that, she and her mother left the hospital.

Five years later, Chloe was walking down a street. If she was pretty at 16, she was beauty incarnate at 21. The physical scars of her experience (if any) had faded, but the emotional scars still persisted. She was late for an appointment, so she decided to take a short cut through an abandoned side street. The side street was dark, but she still went down it. Something burst out a door beside her and punched her hard in the chin. Suddenly, an unknown power that had laid dormant inside of her awoke, and with it, a terrible sense of dread, as if a single mistake could kill her. She turned to her assailant with power shining through her eyes. It was Boris. She let out a blood-curdling scream and launched herself at the terrified bear. He cried in terror as she started to launch fireballs from the palms of her hands at him. He slumped to the ground, clutching one of the many places on his body that was badly burnt. He then screamed in agony as the blisters that had formed all over him started to bleed. Then, a horrible truth was revealed. His blood had turned into molten lead. She heard a sharp thwump from behind her and felt a sharp pain so like the one she felt five years ago. She remained standing, long after the knock-out serum should have taken effect. She then heard another thwump and another stinging pain in the back of her neck. And as she slid into unconsciousness, she felt a swath of soft fur, and smelt an overpowering smell of musk.
