#1 of The Legend of Animor

I am writing a book series. This is the prologue for the first book. Enjoy

Prologue

Cries of the two armies rang out through the city as they clashed for control. There was one person in royal blue and gold trim Senate robes that is looking down at the battle while frowning in disgust, his pure white wings folded behind his back. Being up in the Capitol Building since the start of the battle, he has witnessed every movement of both armies and the weapons of swords, spears and staffs. He was so focused on the battle that he didn't hear the main doors opening and the silent slithering of an unwanted enemy.

"Such a wonderful sight is it not?" questioned Slyren, whose scaly face was contorted with victory and cobra hood shimmering in the blue light of the orbs suspended just below the ceiling of the Senate Room as he entered. "Soon I shall have all of Animor in my hands, and there will be no army between me and my rightful kingship!"

"Rightful?" exclaimed Elgor, the High Chair of the Senate. "Animor has not had a king in centuries. We decided to have a new form of government. The son of the last king, your ancestor has agreed to the pact. You can't just form an army and attack the clans just for power."

"That is exactly what I plan to do. But, first, I will kill you so the planet is vulnerable without their precious leader of the Senate."

"You are mad! Worse than mad! But, if you are to kill me, I will give you a fight for it. You can't be king until you wear the power gauntlets. I sent those away as soon as I got word of your attack."

"Where did you send them?" hissed Slyren. At this time, Slyren, with his black iron armor, depicting the rune of protection, and scales, which were a deep purple with dark green highlights, looked like a shadow that has come up from the underworld. His huge tail trailed behind him like a black river flowing before ending at his waist in the bright blue light.

"I shall not tell the likes of you," Elgor sneered. "And we both know that your hypnosis can't affect me."

"Oh, but now my abilities are far more powerful than your mind, Elgor. And I shall prove it."

"Go ahead. I dare you to even try to hypnotize me during THIS!" Elgor flew forward with a sword in each hand appearing to come from thin air. Slyren blocked both swords with his double-sided sword staff, and thrust his hand forward for a choke grip that landed on the eagle's neck.

"You will follow me," Slyren silently said, his red slitted eyes looking into Elgor's, "and be my servant."

Elgor slowly closed his eyes, and when they were open, they were slitted like a snake's and yellow, the sign of the cobra's hypnosis. Slyren dropped Elgor and said, "Disband your army, since the city is mine." Elgor left the Capitol Building to take care of the matter.

After Elgor left, a she-cheetah left as well. Leona witnessed the entire battle between eagle and serpent from behind a large pillar. She was surprised when Slyren suddenly had Elgor under his control. I must find the gauntlets and train the people who intercept them, thought Leona. But, there is no way that Elgor would give me the coordinates. He must have sent them to the planet that is most like ours. He has always wondered how the people of Earth live. That must be where he sent them. _ I noticed that Elgor hasn't given the coordinates yet. There may be some hope._

With that thought in mind, she made her way to the Teleport Building. Before she arrived, she noticed Elgor flying toward the battle. She thought there would be some time before Slyren arrived on Earth. That would give her some time to make warriors of the two gauntlet holders. What she didn't know is that there was one of Slyren's pet snakes was spying on her and following her to the Teleport Building, hidden in the grass aside the walkway. She greeted the receptionist, unaware of the slithering behind her. While choosing coordinates for teleport, she had this weird feeling that she was being watched, and turned around quickly to get a quick glimpse of the snake. When the snake knew that Leona saw him, he slithered as fast as he could out of the building and toward his master.

Oh no! That was one of Slyren's snakes. He will be here soon to get me. I had better get going to Earth.

As she was stepping into the Teleport Room, Slyren walked in and asked the receptionist where Leona was.

"She stepped into the Teleport Room and teleport to Earth for a reason she did not say," Floria, the she-macaw, said, while stretching her multi-colored wings. "She just left a minute ago"

"Find the coordinates she used for the teleport!" hissed Slyren as Floria left to check the computer. He was getting annoyed with Animor Spy Agency, as it was crucial for the Capital army to win in many battles. I should hypnotize them all so they do not turn on me.

After 5 minutes, Floria came back with bad news for Slyren.

"It seems that she used the secret service code to erase the coordinates from the computer, but we have a way to find out the coordinates within 50 miles."

"Find it! I must get to her location."
