I don't exactly know what to put for a description
Oh, Hello there! My name is Rociel Hentzel and today I will explain the world I reside in as well as talk about myself, which is my favorite topic!
Alright, so what's the world like in your realm?
The year is 2038, from your current point in time, barely much has change with the exception of the fact that parts of the world have vastly changed. Technology hasn't changed to much with the exception of the fact that Oil has been phased out in favor of a new biosynthetic fuel which has shifted much of the economic and political landscape, providing a number of third world countries a chance of gaining prosperity. The world population has significantly declined, due to India instituting a One-child only policy. China suffered immense casualties after a terrorist attack in 2021 compromised the integrity of the Three Gorges Dam, causing the worst disaster of the century which killed Hundreds of millions, and more from starvation and sickness.
Ouch! Is terrorism that bad in your world?
Not really, it's quite the opposite. Ever since the Three Gorges Catastrophe, things have simmered down and most of world's power players have made it difficult to even run a small time terrorist cell.
Is there any new nations?
Yes, the nation of Xianjiang, It peacefully split off from China to form a republic after the incident. Oh and the Korea's are back together when Chinese intelligence agents found a connection with the terrorist Cell and North Korean backers who sponsored the attack, namely Kimmy himself.
Oh fuck, I can tell that didn't end well...
Scorched Earth, China went to war with the little dictatorship and it wasn't merciful.
What happened?
It was Vietnam all over again, Napalm and chemical weapons were unleashed... a lot of civilian casualties. It was more about revenge than anything; the rest of the world turned a blind eye to this conflict.
I understand, it's a justified act when it comes to genocide of almost a billion people.
On a lighter note, Central America is becoming one of the wealthiest parts of the world in the western hemisphere.
Why is that?
Multiple reasons: Banking, Immigration, and Development. Panama right now is practically the Switzerland of the western world because the security of its banks, Its cities are becoming larger along with the businesses that are flocking to them and the US doesn't have an immigration problem anymore.
Wait, what happened to that?
Someone must gave them a compass that points south because a lot of immigrants that were in the US migrated to these Booming nations.
I bet that hurt the States' economy.
Yet again, incorrect... well partially incorrect; the US suffered for a time but more jobs became available to native-born citizens and it's rivalry with Russia made things even better.
Is there another Cold War?
More of a Technological Arms Race: Several US companies secured an Agreement with EU in what their forces use for equipment. Corporate espionage and sabotage is a thing nowadays and an excellent money maker if you wanna be a spy.
How's the whole drug situation on Earth?
Well, as far as illicit substances go, Cannabis is a regulated substance now as long as you carry a license for it to indicate that you're a user. Heroin's completely outdated in compared to these new synthetic drugs that have higher addiction rate and keep their victims alive. Cocaine is out of style and incredibly hard to get a hold of beyond South America.
So you get profiled for pot, Heroin is old school, and Cocaine is impossible to find.
Yeah, these new synthetic drugs are the next big thing since one can easily set up a laboratory and get the base components of them on the open market. The main idea of them is to get their users hooked hard on the stuff.
How did they come about?
One of them is called 'Boost', which was being tested by the US army to promote combat responsiveness: instead it caused violent hallucinations and aggression with in its users. Some lab jockey thought they can make a fortune by selling the formula on the black market. The resulted ended up spawning a whole new generation of psychedelics but it also paved the way for new medicines.
How is that?
They found new medications to combat mental afflictions like Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Wunderlind Syndrome.
Hmmm, so what about you Ms. Hentzel, what do you do for a living?
Oh, I do investing. Stock market trading and what not, It's nothing too exciting beyond what I do has the head of the Black Rose Society.
What's that?
It's a little side project of mine, essentially charity cooperation dedicated to the bettering of the world through anarchist principles.
How many members do you have?
A Good few million and more every day, a lot of younger people who want to change the world feel at home with the cause.
What do you think attracts people to this group of yours?
The Society's website contains a massive archive of technical data on construction of specific devices that I believe are appropriate for the current technological level of earth. Basic power generation from harnessing natural earth energies, like Geomagnetism and electricity from the atmosphere, new ways of growing food, such as Accelerated Hydrophonic Gardening that can grow crops within a matter of weeks instead of months....
So your basic survival technologies, correct?
More than that, I probably have slashed everyone's carbon footprint by releasing this technology upon the world.
Let me guess... you make even more money by selling the rights to manufacture the technology itself to the companies who are seeking to make a profit.
Hehe! A girl's gotta make money somehow. At least I am making the world a better place while doing it.
So what's your net worth?
Officially on the Record, only ten million, but technically I am worth 500 hundred million, which I can't access until I am 18.
How are you managing this money?
My father's friend, if he promises to keep my assets a secret, I promised him I'll slip him a couple mill for a permanent retirement fund.
Why are you afraid of your father finding out what money you have?
He'll guilt trip the hell out of me to hand him some cash, and if he finds out I do, he's gonna go balls out in the baby-making department.
Ooooh! So you're afraid that he'll try to make you feel bad for not shelling out any cash for any potential little brothers or sisters.
Hey, I'm already spoiling the hell out of my little sister. Cell's already got a house for when she gets ready to fly the coop and enough money to do what she wants with.
So what's your plan after high school?
I don't know, that's the thing! What do you do when you have my power? Be a superhero? No... life feels so aimless for me.
You can always conquer the world?
Boring, and hell no! I'm not managing the entire planet.
