From Old to New
Starting a new story based on some ideas i had for a while. I may or may not finish it and i certainly won't be updating in a timely fashion. But please feel free to review and give me feedback.
I slowly sipped what was left of my beer. It was another average day,nothing to do but use a computer browsing videos on the internet,sleeping,and going to my favorite little hangout to have an IPA. OF course a few years ago I would have been all over watching the news for the latest info about what was going on. Now I just liked the quiet nature of the place. Much quieter than any place in the U.S.
OF course a few years ago the greatest discovery to human kind was discovered. Everyone who was anyone knew about it and a popular video game and another that was a TV show got skyrocket sales because of it. I am of course talking of the world I live in now.
Five years ago mankind discovered another world out there. Not one in our space,but in a new one. A completely alternate dimension. Mankind discovered how to traverse this page in the book like world and ever since the world has changed.
After many conflicting sides from both worlds,harsh tensions,and religious backlash from our world, we are now at peace. Once that peace was discovered both sides opened up,and now I live here as one of the few. Though unlike most who chose to live in the other world from my world,i wasn't a scientist,political man or even popular. I was Blake,just Blake a normal black haired brown eyed man with an average height and a small beard.
Though I was lucky enough to have all the support from my family and friends and moved to the beautiful city of Addo where I owned a small apartment courtesy of the Human,Pokemon,Digimon treaty which was signed a year ago by parties from all sides allowing humans ,digimon and Pokemon to travel between the two world via a government controlled portal stationed in the U.S. On Earth.
And now here I was,sitting in some bar enjoying life.
I sighed and drank the last of my alcoholic beverage and waited for my tab. It was a lazy day. I smiled and gave an inward laugh.
"Whats so funny?"
I jumped a little and almost knocked off my glass from the bar table.
"Oh now I see."The womanly voice said
I turned to my side and finally noticed the creature sitting there. IT was obviously a female due to the large breasts she had and more feminine features that accustomed her rather demonic looking body. She had two wings on her back that looked to be made of shadow with red spikes on them. She also had a red,gray,black colorization,a gold headdress and smaller features that where also gold.
I sighed and turned back to facing the taps inside the bar."Sorry you startled me for a second."
"Oh? Well im quite sorry I just wanted to know what a human was doing in a place like this. So what is it? Astronomy,anatomy,Chemist,political figure,or are you just some celebrity?"She asked
"None of the above,im just a civilian."I replied not even looking at her.
"Oh? Well then what do you do for a job?"She asked
"Nothing yet,went to college to be a welder as well as take some basics,later moved here for literally free under the treaty that was signed and I guess im just open to anything."
"You don't say."The woman said
I turned slightly to look at her again. She had a small almost unnoticeable smile on her face and she seemed in thought. I turned back to my empty glass. Just then a large orange and gray rock creature came up and placed down my tab. I pulled out a small wad of cash and was about to put it down.
"Allow me."The woman said placing down some poke.
Before I could object the bartender took the money and walked off to a register away from us. I frowned and looked at the woman. She gave a rather demonic smile and nodded her head. I raised and eyebrow to this but didn't say anything.
"My treat,besides I wanted to know if you where interested in a job."She said
I looked at her. Something told me that I was missing something here. I ignored it.
"What kind?"
"Well being in the position I hold I actually need someone to just manage files,both digital and hard. Of course I wouldn't be asking this unless I needed it and due to my many duties I have little time for managing papers."
"So a desk job?"
"Not exactly a desk job."She replied
"Then what?"
"Well being in such a high political stature on this world means I must travel and I need someone who would be willing to travel to various places with me and overall manage many things."
"That seems like an odd job. Wait."
I looked her over again. And my mind all of a sudden clicked into place. This wasn't some standard political figure. No this was one of the political figures of this world. One of the highest and most respected. Giratina,ruler of the distortion world and considered the opposite of the alpha Pokemon Arceus.
She smiled once I realized this. But I just turned away and thought."Why choose a human? Why give a human such a job?"
"Well ill be honest,human,pokemon,digimon relations while still at peace is strained. Having a human as a employed man under a rather high political figure would help ease the tension and open up the worlds. While many will object it will still be a significant change to have a human near a political figure that wasn't a political figure themselves."
"How much and what will I need?"
"Just basic skills,you won't be doing any heavy lifting and the pay."
She moved up to my ear and whispered how much I would make in a year. As soon as she said the yearly pay I nearly choked.
"Its good isn't it plus it comes with benefits too."
"I...I...I.. I don't know what to say."
"Say yes."
"Umm well...Ok ill take it."
"Great! Here is my buissness card and my home in Addo. Meet me at this address tomorrow at 11 AM and we will talk."She said with a smile
Then she stood and walked away leaving me with a dumbfounded expression and a Black with gold card.
