When does the future begin? Most will answer 'Tomorrow' or 'we don't know'. What if the future was now? By combining the past with current technology military forces were able to fight the monsters that have decided our planet was ripe for the taking.
Little do some know that these "monsters" are amalgamations of our own humans and a long lost science called 'Magic'. Forest creatures never forgot magic, and with a willing human host, a furred humanoid was created. Their magic nearly drove the humans to the stars, until one man, one scientist stepped in and showed the humans that they too could harness Magic, or as he called it, Mag-Tech. By combining special crystals with their technology, a normal man could withstand fire just by wearing a gauntlet, could breathe under water for hours, or even control the elements himself.
